"After another encounter with Team Rocket and training. Logan and Elaine leave Viridan Forest with Jessie after saving her from Beedrill and now stand on a hill overlooking Pewter City," The narrator said.

"Well, we're finally here," Elaine said.

"Right, your friends are sure to find you soon," Logan said, looking at Jessie."You should be safe now that you're out of the forest, but you should still be careful," He said, smiling.

"Right, thank you," Jessie said, looking down and blushing slightly at how much he seemed to care despite her attempt to steal his pokemon.

"So this is Pewter City," Elaine said, taking in the view as she glanced at Logan talking to Jessie and waving bye."So Logan, are you ready for your first gym battle?" She asked as he walked over to her, as they started walking towards the city.

Elaine noticed his silence and narrow eyes, deep in thought. "Hey Logan, what the matter?" She asked.

"Lit?" Ruby asked, just as worried.

"Huh? Oh, I nothing," He said, shaking his head."I was just thinking anyway. I guess training before the gym is a good idea to be prepared," He said, holding out his pokeballs as he walked into a clearing.

"Litleo!" Ruby cried out.

"Alright, come on out!" He said, throwing the pokeballs.

"Squirtle!"

"Rattata!"

"Ekans!"

"Meowth!"

"Doduo!"

"Alright, everyone, we need to do some training. Shelly, use your powerful moves on Fani to improve your endurance. Fani, tell me when it becomes too much. Mittens and Patrick strengthen your strength by attacking the rocks with Tackle Sora; run from here to the large tree and back for speed training. Ruby, power up your Ember!"

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Elaine asked.

"Sure, what is?" Logan asked.

"How come you protected Jessie in the forest?"

"Oh, that well, she was in danger, and no matter if she was a thief, I couldn't leave her. Can't explain it, but something told me I had to protect her," He said."Now I want to ask you something, Elaine," He stated.

"Oh, what is it?" She asked.

"How come your not challenging the Gyms?" Logan asked.

"Well, to be honest, unlike Ash, I am not aiming to be a Pokemon Master in batting," Elanie said, stroking Eevee on her shoulder."I don't know what path I want to take, but battles aren't that interesting, but I figure it out."

Logan nodded his understanding as Fani took each attack from Shelly head-on, not budging or backing down as it continued to improve its stamina. Patrick and Mitten's strength was improving. With Sora speeding getting faster and Ruby Ember was increasing.

"Hey Logan, maybe you should end the training session," Elaine said, concerned, looking at pokemon.

"I believe that she is right, Log!" A voice called out.

Logan and Elaine turned around to see a red hair boy around their age, making Logan raise an eyebrow at the familiar face.

"Crismon?" Logan questioned.

"That's right, Log. You thought you could get the drop on me in Kanto, huh? Well, sadly for you, I'm still ahead of you," He stated, smirking at Logan.

"Logan, do you know this stranger?" Elaine asked, causing Crimson to narrow her eyes in annoyance.

"His name is Crimson; he is a trainer from Kalos like me," Logan replied.

"That right. And I'm also the number one trainer in Kalos."He stated." I bet I even caught more Pokemon than you. I have a total of five Pokemon. What about you?" He asked.

"I have eight Pokemon already," Logan replied.

"What?" He shouted."Well, I suppose that is decent for a person like you," He said, trying to act composed as he peeled over and saw Logan training pokemon."Alright, you beat me this time, but I will still capture more Pokemon than you!"

"You're still competitive as ever," Logan sighed."So have you already beaten the Pewter City Gym?" He asked.

"Uh..."

"You mean you haven't?" Elaine asked.

"Excellent trainers need to take a break from time to time. It wasn't like I was goofing around and exploring the city," Crimson said.

"Right, of course," Logan and Elaine said, sweat dropping.

"Ah!" Crimson suddenly screamed, startling everyone."I almost forgot. I have to get to the Gym right now!" He said, running off.

"Why the hurry?" Logan asked.

"Because I already booked a match earlier, so I must get there now!" Crimson replied.

"You have a strange friend," Elaine said, laughing.

"Yeah, I guess so," Logan said, looking down at the ground deep in thought.

"Hey, what the matter?" Elaine asked.

"Vee!" Eevee said, just as curious.

"Well, it just might be a little nervous," Logan admitted.

"Hm?"

"Battling another trainer is one thing, but battling a Gym leader is another thing. I know they are really tough since my father was one in the past, and maybe I don't know if I have what it takes to win my badge or become a future gym leader," Logan said.

"So you want to go to the Pewter City Gym to watch your friend's match before your battle?" Elaine asked.

"Yeah," He replied.

"Then let's go!" Elaine said, grabbing Logan's hand and running towards the Gym, pulling him along.

"Liteo!" Ruby cried out.

"Return," Logan said, returning his Pokeball as Runy ran after him and Elaine.

The two reach the gym and are surprised by the impressive building in front of them.

"So this is the Pewter City Gym," Logan said, swallowing.

"Hey, don't worry. I'm sure it's not that bad. Besides, you seem skilled to me," Elaine reassured him.

"Your right. I was all determined to leave for Kanto, and here I am, freaking out. This isn't me not anymore," Logan said, shaking his head.

"Ah!" Crimson said as he arrived at the Gym and saw Logan and Elaine standing there.

Logan and Elaine see him and notice that he looks a bit sweaty from running.

"I so caught you Log! You are trying to get ahead of me and challenge the Gym leader before me!" Crimson shouted.

"What are you talking about? We just got here, besides you ran off like crazy. So how are you just now getting here?" Elaine asked.

"Well, it's like I got lost are something like that," Crimson stated.

"So you finally arrived," A voice said as the door opened to reveal the Gym Leader, who seemed to be a boy older than them by a couple of years.

"Hm..."

"Are you the trainer that set up the appointment?" He asked, staring at Logan, looking into his soul. Logan clenched his fist and closed his eyes, calming his nerves.

"No! That was me," Crimson stated, standing right before Brock.

"Absolutely!"

They move inside of the Gym.

Logan and Elaine sat on the rafters as the battle was about to begin. Logan was holding his egg, checking on it, seeing no glow yet.

"This battle will be two on two. There will be no time limit, and the battle will be over when both of one trainer pokemon can no longer battle," Brock stated the rules.
