"Last, Logan got separated from Elaine when angry Geodude attacked them and ended up with Jessie trying to find their way out. While traveling with her, he got a better feel of her personality and Shelly evolving and catching two new Pokemon. Logan soon meets Pearl, who helps them out of the cave. Now Logan and Elaine continue their way to Cerulean City for Logan to earn his second gym badge and out now joined by Pearl on their journey," The narrator said as the three trainers were seen walking down the route leading to Cerulean City.
"Hey, Logan?" Elaine said.
"What is it?" Logan asked.
"How was it being stuck with Jessie?" Elaine asked.
"It seemed like he wasn't having a bad time the way I saw him protecting her," Pearl said.
"Lit!" Ruby said in agreement.
"Really, again, you protected her in the forest as well," Elaine commented.
"Yeah, well, she was scared, and I couldn't just let an Onix attack her, besides she wasn't that bad to be stuck with; I got to know her a little better," Logan replied.
"Yeah, well, Meowth and James can be kind of annoying with their complaining," Elaine said."Anyway, Pearl, what Pokemon do you have besides your Drowzee?" She asked, turning her attention towards Pearl, changing the subject.
"I actually have a Slowpoke and caught a Celefairy in Mt.Moon, but I have another Pokemon back at home with my older sister," Pearl replied with a sigh, thinking about her other Pokemon.
Logan looked down at Ruby smiling. To see her watching Pearl curiously. She always enjoyed meeting new people.
"Oh really, why didn't you bring them on your journey?" Elaine asked.
"I wanted to, but my big sister didn't believe I was capable of training it as well as her, so I with on this journey to become stronger and prove I could be a master of Psychic types like her," Pearl replied.
"A Psychic type master, so do you plan on entering the Pokemon League?" Elaine asked.
"Well, no, I mainly was on the journey catching new Pokemon and battling experience from trainer battles," Pearl said.
"Make sense. Not everyone goes on a journey to enter the Pokemon League to achieve their goal," Logan said."Also, we should make it to Cerulean City in around two more hours."
"Alright, soon as we get there, I need to heal my Pokemon," Pearl said.
"We all should make sure to do that," Elaine said.
"That's right, especially before my next Gym battle," Logan agreed.
After two hours had passed, the trio of trainers made it to Cerulean City and made a stop at the Pokemon Center.
Soon as he gave his Pokemon to Nurse Joy to heal them, he went over to the phone to call home.
"Hello, Dad. Has mom?" Logan asked.
"She is doing great started working on a new movie today not a lot of challenges for her title today," He replied.
"I see. Glad she is doing good."
"How are you, son?"
"I'm well made it to Cerulean City and hoping to get my second badge today."
"Nice, you seem to be making significant progress, son."
"Yeah, I should probably call Uncle Wallace meant to do that sooner."
"Yeah, he called me wondering how you were doing."
"Hey Logan, there you are," Elaine said, walking over to him.
"Ah, this must be the travel buddy your mom wanted to meet," His father said.
"My bad didn't know that you were talking to your dad," Elaine apologized.
"It alright, young lady. What's your name?"
"Elaine Ketchum."
"Nice to meet you, Elaine."
"I made another friend recently named Pearl," Logan said.
"That right, Pearl is actually talking about checking out Nugget Bridge, where a bunch of trainers seems to be heading to battle for the challenges that are just training," Elaine said.
"That could be an excellent experience for her new Celefairy. Take it she is not coming to the gym to watch," Logan said, turning to face Elaine."Anyway, talk to you after the Gym, Dad."
"Alright, good luck, son, and do your best," His dad said.
"I will have a good day," Logan said, ending the call.
"She will be joining us soon as she is done," Elaine said.
"Alright then, let me get my Pokemon, and then we will head to the gym," Logan said, getting up from the seat in front of the phone.
After receiving his Pokemon back from Nurse Joy, Logan, and Elaine headed off to the gym, which had a large Seel sign.
"This is a very interesting-looking gym," Elaine said, looking at the building.
"It is so Elaine. How do you think your cousin is doing?"
"Ash, he is not the sharpest guy, so, to be honest, but knowing him, he probably will get most of his badges by luck," Elaine said."Through who knows, he might have gotten better on his journey."
"I see," Logan said as he and Elaine entered the building.
"This gym is even more impressive looking on the inside," Elaine said, looking around at the tanks with the fish swimming inside them.
As they were walking, Elaine accidentally bumped into someone causing her to fall back into Logan and Eevee on top of his head.
"Ouch," Elaine said, getting out of Logan's arms and looking up to see she bumped into a girl with long wavy indigo hair and brown eyes wearing a green swimming dress.
"Sorry about that wasn't paying attention, thanks to the beauty of the aquarium," Elaine apologized.
"Well, that's understandable. It is the best in the world," A girl with long wavy pink hair said.
"Obviously," The indigo hair girl said.
"Like totally," A girl with long wavy blonde hair said.
All three started giggling, creeping Logan, Elaine, and their Pokemon partners out.
"So, what are you doing here?" The blonde asked.
"I'm here hoping to earn the Cerulean City gym badge," Logan replied.
Which earned him three tired expressions from the three girls, who he figured must be the gym leaders.
"Sorry to break it to you, but we don't have any Pokemon left," The pink hair girl said.
"We just beat by like four times in a row from three trainers from some nowhere town called Pallet and a hot headphone from Aquacorde Town all the way in Kalos," The indigo hair one said.
"I can wait until there heal," Logan said.
"Not necessary," A voice said.
Everyone turned to see a slightly pale twelve-year-old boy with short sky-blue hair and purple eyes. He was wearing a red sleeveless shirt that showed his muscular arms and had a Psyduck on it and black shorts and grey shoes.
"River, what are you doing here? I thought you went on a journey to learn more about water-type Pokemon," The Indigo hair said.
"Yes, I did, Violet," The boy named River said."However, I was in the city and figured I check on home, and glad I did. You can battle me for the Cascade badge, um," He said, looking at Logan.
"Name is Logan."
"Alright then, follow me, and we can begin either Lily, Dasiy, or Violet be the referee," River said, looking at the girls.
Soon Logan and River went to position on the battlefield, which was a pool.
"The Gym battle between Logan, the challenger, and River, the Cerulean Gym Leader, will now begin. This will be a three-on-three battle, and it will be over when either side's Pokemon cannot continue. Only the challenger can substitute Pokemon," Lily announced.
"Go, Squirtle!" River said as he sent out his regular color Squirtle.
"Squirtle!"
"A Squirtle, alright, let's go, Floral!" Logan said, sending out his shiny Bellsprout.
"Bella," Floral cried out.
Suddenly, Pearl arrived and sat down next to Elaine and Ruby.
"Hi Pearl, take it to you finished," Elaine said.
"Yeah, and I actually found a new Pokemon swimming near the bridge. It was a Psyduck," Pearl replied.
"Cool."
"Battle Begin!" Lily announced.
"Squirtle Ice Beam," River commanded.
Squirtle fired a cold blue beam of ice from it out at Floral.
"Floral dodge, then Razor Leaf!"
Floral dodged, then fired multiple dark green leaves at Squirtle, hitting it.
"Squirtle," Squirtle cried out in pain.
"Squirtle Tackle!"
Squirtle then dived into the water and swam quickly towards Floral.
"Floral, stop it with Vine Whip!"
"Bellprout!" Floral cried out, firing its vines at Sauritle and lifting it out of the water so it could land a Tackle.
"Now toss it and use Razor Leaf!
"Bell!" Floral cried out, tossing it into the air, and then fired a Razor Leaf and sent Squirtle flying into the water.
"Squirtle get up," River said as Squirtle returned from under the water.
"Logan trains his Pokemon well, but that Sauritle still seems ready to go," Pearl said.
"Good now again, Tackle!"
Squirtle once again swam over towards Floarl, ready to slam into her.
"Razor Leaf and power it up with Vine Whip!"
Floral fired multiple dark leaves at Squirtle and then hit them with Vine Whip making them spin faster and hitting Squirtle as it cried out in pain before fainting.
"Squirtle unable to power. Bellspout wins!"
"Great job Floral," Logan smiled.
"Bell!" Floral cried out happily from the praise.
"Go Seel," River said as he sent out his next Pokemon, a white sea loin Pokemon.
[Seel, The Sea Lion Pokemon. The protruding horn on its head is very hard. It is used for bashing through thick ice. It loves freezing cold conditions. Relishes swimming in the frigid climate of around 14F degrees.]
"Can you keep going, Floral?" Logan asked as Floral nodded."Alright."
"Seel, use Water Gun!" River commanded.
Steel releases a stream of water from its mouth, hitting Floral.
"Floral Vine Whip," Logan said.
"Sprout!" Floral cried as her vines hit through the water and hitting Seel.
"Autora Beam!"
Steel fired a beam of ice, hitting Floarl and knocking her out with a super-effective hit.
"Bellsprout unable to battle. Seel wins."
"You did a great job," Logan said, returning his fainted grass-type plant and reaching for his next Pokemon."It's time to show your spirit, Patrick!" He said, sending out Rattata.
"Rattata!" Patrick cried out, battle ready.
"Seel Aurora Beam!"
Steel fried a light blue beam of ice from its mouth.
"Patrick, Quick Attack!"
Patrick ran swiftly across the water, avoiding the beam and slamming into Seel.
"Seel Headbutt!"
"Dodge and Swift!"
Patrick swiftly dodged the incoming headbutt and then fired multiple golden stars and struck Seel.
Steel couldn't take anymore and fainted.
"Seel is unable to battle Rattata wins."
"Nice going, Logan," Elaine smiled.
"Yeah, he got the second win," Pearl said, impressed.
"Nice job," Logan praised as Patrick started to glow white soon as it stopped, he was now a large tawny-colored rodent."Awesome, you evolved," he said, taking out his Pokedex.
[Raticate, The Mouse Pokemon. It uses whiskers to maintain its balance and slows down if cut off. Its hind feet are webbed. They act as flippers, so they can swim in rivers and hunt for prey.]
"Go, Vaoporeon!" River sent out a blue mermaid Cannie-looking Pokemon with a white neck fin and three fins on its face.
Logan scanned the Pokemon.
[Vapereon, The Bubble Jet Pokemon. It lives close to water. Its long tail is ridged with a fin which is often mistaken for a mermaid's. Its cell structure is similar to water molecules. It will melt away and become invisible in water.]
"Alright, return," Logan said, returning his newly evolved Pokemon."Now it's your turn, Shelly!" He said, sending out his Wartortle.
"War!" Shelly cried out, ready to go.
"Body Salm!" River ordered.
"Vap!" Vapereon cried out as it ran forward and jumped into the air, ready to slam down onto Shelly.
"Rapid Spin!"
"War!" Shelly cried out, going into her shell and spinning around, sending Vapereon flying into the water.
"Great job, let's use Tackle!"
"Swift!"
Vapereon's tail glowed yellow and fried multiple stars from its bottom, which collided with Shelly.
"Now Mega Punch!"
"War!" Shelly cried out, jumping into the water and swimming toward Vapereon, and hitting it hard with its fist, sending it flying and landing on the platform.
"Wow, Shelly got stronger after evolving and learning in new moves as well," Elaine stated.
"Eevee."
"Litleo."
"Vapereon Ice Beam!"
"Shelly Ice Beam as well!"
"Wartortle!"
"Vap!"
The two Pokemon released blue beams of ice, colliding with each other and creating a powerful blast of ice as a chilling ice storm filled the gym. After a few minutes, it settled down to see both Pokemon panting until Vapereon fainted.
"Vapereon is unable to battle. Wartortle wins, so the match goes to Logan!" Lily announced.
"You were terrific, Shelly. You definitely gotten stronger since you evolved, and now Patrick has evolved as well," Logan said as Shely jumped into his arms.
"War!"
River returned Vapereon, and he and his sisters walked on over to him and Shelly.
"That was a great battle, Logan. You really gave my partner Vapereon a workout," River complimented.
"Thanks; my goal is to become a Gym leader like my father used to be. He actually was a master in Water types himself," Logan said, returning Shelly to her Pokeball.
"Well, I believe you will definitely become one someday," River said."His proof of your victory of winning the Cascade Badge," He said, holding out a blue raindrop badge.
"Yes, we got the Cascade Badge," Logan said, smiling and looking at his second gym badge.
"Litleo!" Ruby cried out, jumping onto Logan's shoulder.
After saying bye to River and his older sisters, Logan, Elaine, and Pearl left the gym and headed to the Pokemon Center to heal his Pokemon and rest before leaving Cerulean City tomorrow.
"Logan, Elaine, and Pearl soon arrive at Cerulean City for Logan to receive his second gym badge, only for the gym leaders to have no Pokemon left, but so their brother River shows up and battles Logan after successfully beating River. Logan earns himself the Cascade Badge. With his second badge in hand, they head to the Pokemon Center to get some rest before continuing their journey," The Narrator said.
