[Badass Linebreak]
As the screen showed a familiar pair of twin golden arcs, the Remnantians were surprised and a bit excited to say the least.
"AH, so it seems that Mr. Arc is first to be featured in our first viewing." Billy said.
"Oh I'm so excited!" Ruby exclaimed before turning to Jaune, "What do you think you'll be?! A knight with a super awesome sword?! Or yet an awesome gun?! Or..." She then gasped, but before the young reaper could sputter out another suggestion out of sheer excitement, a loud whistle was heard, making the guests, especially Blake, cover their ears as they saw Billy with a big metal whistle.
"PLEASE, reserve your reactions for when the viewing is about to start." Billy advised, prompting Ruby to sit back down with a sheepish grin.
As the lights in the Theater dimmed, the Hosts summoned a pair of floating director's chairs and floated up to sit on them. It was then that the screen showed a old film countdown as the guests snacked on their popcorn.
The screen opened to a grand view of an equally grand palace, as there were several people dressed in fancy clothing talking amongst themselves, a blonde man held the hand of his son beside him as they walked towards the palace, the latter being rather familiar.
The guests were in awe at the first few seconds of the viewing.
"I'm guessing this takes place in a different time period?" Ren asked.
"Indeed," Anon replied, "In this universe, this takes place in an alternate version of pre-Great War Vale, when Kings and Queens still ruled the place."
(Wait a fucking second, "pre-Great War Vale"? This ain't France or Earth or something? Well, the High Council has yet to plan on introducing them to Earth so for now, they've decided to let them see something that is familiar to them, we're easing them in, if you will. Ah, I see)
"Woah..." Jaune was in awe that this version of himself was living in a very beautiful version of Vale. (Oh, if only you knew what's gonna happen next, Jauney. What, his father dying or the revolution? A bit of both.)
Once they saw the father-son duo, the both teams went wide eyed in shock and realization.
"Is that Jaune!?" Nora yelled out, pointing at the older man.
"Uh Nora," The ginger bomber turned to her leader, "That's... not me." Jaune said.
"He's right, Miss Valkyrie. The little tyke beside him is Jaune." Anon clarified, making some of the girls squeal.
"Aww! Look at little Vomit Boy in those fancy clothes." Yang cooed, much to the knight's dismay as he blushed in embarrassment.
Weiss said nothing, holding back the urge to coo at the cute version of the dunce, but she really thought the little Arc was adorable. (Tsundereeeee. Damn straight)
Pyrrha blushed at how adorable her partner was and held back the urge to squish the blonde's cheeks. (Heehehehehe. God, your brain works differently. That's because I AM built different. *muttering* Built stupid. What was that? Nothing, on with the show.)
"So the older man beside uh... other you, that's your father?" Ren deduced, Jaune nodded as the blonde reminisce of moments with his father and family before Beacon.
Inside the lavish palace, the two walked down a short flight of stairs as the young Jaune let go of his father's hand to stare at a servant holding a platter of roasted pig.
Nora, Jaune and Ruby also stared at the roasted pig, drool dripping at their mouths, both Hosts chuckled as Anon cleared his throat, snapping the three out of their daze as they chuckled sheepishly with faint blushes.
"Jaune." His father called out as the little blonde turned to his father as the Arc Patriarch beckoned for his son as Jaune ran towards a nearby chair and sat on it.
"Can't I go with you, Father?" Jaune asked in his little voice.
"Courage, my boy." His father replied, kneeling down to his son as he pulled out a pocket watch. "You wait just here, I will return when this hand reaches the top." The elder blonde continued, gesturing to the watch's hands.
Billy's eyes widened, suddenly remembering what this universe was about, he turned to his twin, who had that same look.
"What the hell are we gonna do?!" Billy mentally panicked before he was calmed by Anon.
"Relax, remember it's not within our power to control what is and what's not shown on screen, they'll understand, not everything is sunshine and rainbows and I'm sure they'd understand." Anon assured.
Reluctantly, Billy turned back to the screen.
"That's forever!" Jaune complained.
"Not as long as all that." His father reassured, "And when I get back, we'll see the fireworks." He promised, patting his son's knee as he stood to leave, but not before turning back to remind him, "And Jaune? No "exploring", hmm?"
"Yes, Father." The young Arc complied.
"Aww, but exploring is fun!" Nora whined, pouting while crossing her arms.
"Nora..." Ren sighed.
As his father left, Jaune sighed as slouched in his seat, looking around the lonely hall, feeling bored and in need of doing something.
Sitting up, he turned to stare at a painting of the King of Vale before he heard footsteps followed by a giggle as he turned to look around for the source of the voice.
Hearing the giggle, the guests can't help but feel like the giggle was somewhat familiar.
It wasn't long before Jaune saw a little redhead girl with familiar green eyes wearing a multi-colored dress peaking from a statue ahead.
Pyrrha's eyes widened as she saw a younger version of herself, "Th-that's..."
"Pyrrha, that's you!" Nora exclaimed, pointing between the one on the Theater and the younger version on screen.
Jaune felt a chuckle on his throat as he absentmindedly said, "Cute..." Realizing it, he cupped his mouth shut as he looked around only to see his team sans a blushing Pyrrha smirking teasingly at him, the same could be said about his sister team.
"'Cute', huh?" Yang asked teasingly, which made the blonde knight cover his face in embarrassment as he groaned silently.
Both Hosts chuckled as Billy mentally told Anon, "Well, seems like the more minor side-effects of the Multiranium have started."
"I concur, brother dearest." The calmer brother replied.
The girl smiled mischieviously as she ran from the statue towards a doorway leading to another room, not resisting the urge any further, Jaune stood and decided to follow this mysterious girl.
"Arc, what exactly did your father say about "no exploring?"" Weiss asked the knight with a raised eyebrow, although the tone in her voice betrayed her serious and unimpressed look.
The knight chuckled sheepishly, scratching his cheek.
"Too slow." The girl teased with a giggle as she continued to run, Jaune following behind, "You'd rather sit with that old prune? Come on!" The little redhead continued.
Noticing the odd choice of words and mannerism, Pyrrha asked the Hosts, "I can't help but notice that my version is..." Her voice trailed, finding the exact words.
"Mischievous?" Ren cut in.
"Different universes, different personalities." Billy simply said, earning nods of understanding from both Beacon teams.
"This way!" The girl called out as the young Arc followed her through a series of rooms, "Aren't you coming?" She continued to taunt the little blonde playfully.
As the two entered a dining hall, Jaune bumped into a servant who dropped his platter of roasted pig, "My suckling pig!" He exclaimed as the blonde's eyes widened for a bit before he turned to follow the peculiar girl.
"(Guards, stop them!)" The servant yelled out in a peculiar language.
"Where'd they come from?" A noble in the room wondered as the two children continued to run.
"Someone's in trouble~" Ruby commented as Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation at the antics of the two on screen.
"Sorry." Jaune and Pyrrha said in unison as they turned to each other in surprise before they looked away in embarrassment as the rest laughed at the scene.
When they heard the servant yelled something in some language, Yang asked, "What the heck was the servant saying?"
"Yeah, it was weird but somehow I understood it, why though?" Jaune furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. (Huh, so you added the RWBY Theme in this universe but kept the French language? Like I said, the Council has yet to introduce them to Earth, consider this a slow transition, a preview if you will. I see.)
"Ahem. The language was French, it's a language that is part of a nation that we'll soon unveil once our request from the High Council (That's you, readers.) is approved." Billy explained.
"Still doesn't explain why I can understand it..." Jaune rubbed his chin in thought.
"Quickly, quickly!" The girl urged, as the two entered a small courtyard and into a pavilion where a small stack of apples were placed.
"Bet you can't steal one." The girl challenged.
"Oh? P-Money being a little thief? For shame..." Yang teased with a head shake, earning a groan from the redhead who was blushing in embarrassment.
Jaune patted his partner's back comfortingly, which didn't make Pyrrha's situation any better as her blush intensified at her partner's touch.
Not backing down at a challenge, Jaune reluctantly steals one of the apples from the platter when he was caught by a guard patrolling the place.
"Thief! Put that back!" The guard called out.
Gasps fill the Theater as Jaune's friends panicked.
"Run Jaune! Run!" Ruby yelled out.
"Uh, I'm right here..." Jaune awkwardly piped in, making both the Hosts chuckle in amusement at the reactions.
Jaune ran out of the guard's sight, hiding behind the tall and thick grass hedges as the guard was muttering on the little blonde's whereabouts.
It wasn't long before the young Arc heard the guard give up on the search as Jaune sneakily proceeded towards the door where he saw the redhead girl.
"Hurry, through here." She urged Jaune.
Sighs of relief were heard from both teams in the Theater as Jaune wasn't caught.
As Jaune turned, he was then pulled into a pillar by the girl, who was giggling.
"Did you see their faces when we stole those apples?" She asked, as Jaune chuckled.
"I'm Jaune."
"Pyrrha." The girl, Pyrrha, introduced herself.
The audienced cooed and were aww-ing at the sight of the two meeting.
"You two look so darn cute!" Nora squealed out as Ren sighed, the sight of the two younger versions of their teammates making him reminisce of when he met Nora.
Needless to say, the two poor victims of the teasing were blushing up a storm, averting their eyes from each other out of embarrassment.
"I'm here with my father." Jaune said.
"So am I." Pyrrha replied, "He has "important business with the king"."
Nora gasped at what tiny Pyrrha said and shook her teammate's shoulders, "Your dad knows the King of Vale?!" She exclaimed excitedly as she was pulled away by her stoic partner.
"W-well no." Pyrrha responded, "But apparently in this universe, he does."
"What should we do now?" Jaune asked before gasps were heard from inside.
Pyrrha put a finger on the blonde's lips as she said, "Shhh. Listen." As there were people muttering from the inside followed by footsteps from the guards.
"Don't worry, they'll never think to look for us in here." Pyrrha assured as guards passed by.
"It was my fault, I'm the one who took the apple." Jaune admitted to the guards, who simply passed by him.
"Let's see where they're going!" Pyrrha suggested, snatching the apple from the young Arc's hands as she ran ahead.
Seeing the guards pass by Jaune made the audience nervouse quite a bit, with Blake voicing her concerns.
"I don't like where this is going."
"Yeah, you said it. Something must be wrong." Ruby added nervously.
As Jaune followed Pyrrha close behind, he could hear her urging, "Hurry! Something's happened!"
Entering the room where he was supposed to wait for his father, he saw a crowd surrounding something, he could also hear a voice apologizing to someone, "(Mister) Franklin, I sincerely hope this unfortunate affair does not darken your opinion of our nation."
"(Sir), if we judged nations by the character of their criminals, we should all be called barbarians." Another voice replied. Jaune then took out his father's pocket watch.
"Pyrrha!" An older voice called out.
"Father?" Jaune called out, wondering where his father was.
"Come here girl! Now!" The same older voice beckoned for the little redhead.
"Father!" Jaune called out for his father again, slowly walking towards the crowd.
The audience was feeling even worse when Jaune's father didn't call back to him, with the blonde himself dreading for the worse as he held his head in his hands. It can't be! He thought.
As Jaune shuffled through the crowd, two people in front of him cleared the way, revealing his father on the ground dead, blood on his throat. Jaune dropped his pocket watch in utter grief as the glass on the watch shattered, his face blank at the sight.
"N-no..." Jaune croaked out as tears fell freely down his face.
"What's the meaning of this?!" Pyrrha yelled towards the Hosts.
Sighing, both Hosts floated down from their seats as Anon addressed them with a sad look, "Forgive us for showing you this but it's the will of both the High Council and our Boss." The detective-themed raised his hand as he continued, "However, much like any and every other universe out there, there is more to the story."
"Yes, plus I will give you a tiny spoiler for this world; "For behind every unfortunate event, lies a puppet master pulling the strings"."
"So someone's behind whoever killed my dad then?" Jaune muttered, clenching his fists in anger as Pyrrha placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You caught on quick Mr. Arc but yes, and many more unfortunate events that will happen to you." Billy responded, "But let's not waste further time and continue." He finished as both him and his brother floated back to their seats.
"Come away boy!" A man said as quickly picked up his father's pocket watch and held it close to him, all the sounds and voices were deafened as he stared at his father's corpse.
The audience were silent, feeling nothing but pity for the poor blonde, Jaune simply squeezing his partner's hand in comfort as he wiped his tears.
Just then, some in the crowd cleared as Jaune heard a familiar voice. "Arno. Arno. Look at me."
At this, the little blonde looked to a man in black clothing and top hat covering his red hair as the older man held out a hand. Jaune's eyes went to Pyrrha, who stood behind the man.
"My father..." Pyrrha said, staring at the alternate version of her father.
It wasn't long before Jaune stared at the now broken pocket watch, its hand twitching before the screen darkened and lit up once more, revealing a sleeved hand holding on to the same pocket watch. On the side of the screen it read: "THIRTEEN YEARS LATER".
"Thirteen years?" Jaune asked, before turning to the Hosts in curiosity, "What happened?"
"Since your father's death, Pyrrha's father took you in." Anon explained.
The screen changed to a view of an older Jaune in someone's house with his blonde hair tied to a bun and with a stubble staring at his pocket watch while remembering the day his father died.
With all the tension and sappy shit (Seriously?) What? I don't know what to describe it, fuck off. But anyways, with all of that mostly gone, the girls, especially Pyrrha, took a good look at the older version of Jaune.
Suffice to say, they weren't disappointed, especially the blonde's partner, who was blushing profusely.
"Well damn Vomit Boy, you clean well." Yang commented with a smirk, making Jaune blush bashfully.
It was then he heard banging on the door as he looked to see it open, revealing a man, presumbably a blacksmith, who was angry to say the least.
"Can't win fairly at cards, so you stoop to thieving, you bastard!" The man angrily said.
"Hey! That's his watch, meanie!" Ruby angrily retorted, despite the man on the screen not hearing.
"Calm down, Victor! I've only come for my watch." Jaune replied calmly as the two were circling around the table.
"It's my watch! I won it fairly!" The man named Victor retorted.
"Wait, what?" Ruby asked, confused.
"Ruby, Arc was playing cards so he must've bet on his father's pocket watch, he lost so this Victor technically won it fairly." Weiss explained.
"It's still his father's watch." The reaper grumbled.
"Well, in a just world, Victor, I would agree with you. But this is not a just world. This is Vale." Jaune said.
Blake nodded at the blonde's argument, having experienced at how harsh the world out there is.
"You're a dead man!" Victor snarled as he tried to reach for 'his watch' but Jaune stepped back.
"Woah. Step lightly there! You'll hurt yourself." Jaune quipped.
The audience chuckled at the alternate Jaune's sarcasm.
With a roar, Victor flipped the table over as Jaune quickly ran and vaulted over a window, but his foot was caught by Victor, making the blonde trip and fall over, dropping his watch in the process.
The watch skidded towards a pair of feet, where a man picked up the watch and looked to Jaune curiously.
"Just had a nice chat with your brother." Jaune explained with some sarcasm as he picked himself up.
"Hugo! Fetch the marshals." Victor's voice was heard from behind.
"Hold on a minute-!" Jaune tried to reason but Hugo already ran off as the blonde cursed under his breath and chased after Hugo, passing through a window and sliding under a table smoothly as he exited the building behind him. Once again outside, Jaune slid over a table.
"Pardon, madame." Jaune excused as he continued to chase after Hugo.
"Get out of my way!" He could hear Victor's brother say as the blonde slid under another table that was full of fish.
Once nearing Hugo, Jaune tried to reason, "Gentlemen, please! We can come to an understanding!"
"Shut it!" Hugo stubbornly refused as the people looked on to the two running.
"Please excuse him, he's not housebroken." Jaune told them snarkily.
At another snarky quip, the audience laughed, Nora and Yang being the loudest for obvious reasons. (I bet they're also loud in the- Can we please continue this? Party pooper.)
Passing through another window, the blonde continued to run after Hugo until he was near enough to tackle the supposed thief.
Both teams cheered that Hugo had been caught.
"You got him, Jaune! Good work!" Ruby congratulated, giving the knight a big thumbs up.
"But, that's not me though." Jaune replied, sheepishly scratching the back of his head.
"But it's what you would do Jaune, it was your father's after all." Pyrrha retorted with a smile, with Jaune returning the smile in gratitude. (Now kith. *Snort*)
With the watch dropped and spinning on the ground, Jaune slid down to pick it up. "Thickheaded blacksmith like you probably can't even read a watch..." He said.
"That wasn't nice, Jaune." Blake told the blonde with a slight frown.
"Uh, th-that wasn't me!" Jaune reasoned with both hands up.
"Come over here and say that!" Victor yelled out, running towards Jaune.
"Uh, no." Jaune replied as he ran away from Victor, but then saw some guards in front of him.
"Get back here!" Victor yelled out from behind before telling the guards to stop him as well. "(Stop him! Thief!)"
"Oh no!" Ruby exclaimed worriedly.
"Come on, Jaune. Please be safe." Pyrrha mutterd, drumming her fingers on the armrests of her chair.
It was then that Jaune climbed his way up a building, taunting Victor from below. "Keeping up? Shall I call a break?"
Running across the rooftops, he jumped towards a rope before jumping once again and grabbed a roof's edge, pulling himself up before running across the rooftops of different buildings.
The viewers watching were surprised and impressed to say the least at the Arc's agility, with Nora voicing out their thoughts.
"Fearless leader, can you do that?!" She asked the blonde knight excitedly.
Jaune scratched his cheek awkwardly he replied, "Uh, Nora I don't think I would but..." He paused, a thoughtful look on his face before he continued, "I guess it would be great to learn from someone."
Jumping towards a rope, Jaune went for the direction of the Nikos estate, jumping down towards the street as he saw the estate and walked towards the entrance.
"And where in God's name have you been?" A well dressed man, more likely the butler, asked.
Thinking of an excuse, Jaune turned to answer the man only to be interuppted as the brothers caught up.
"Hah! Got you now, you little shit!" Victor said angrily.
"Just a little misunderstanding, nothing to-!" Jaune reasoned but Victor cut him off.
"Your master is harboring a common criminal! In broad daylight he broke into my home and stole my watch!" Victor explained to the butler.
"That's not true!" Nora yelled.
"Yeah! That's his watch!" Ruby added to the knight's defense.
"Ruby, as Weiss said, it's technically the man's watch since he won it, as much as I hate to say it." Blake reasoned.
"Blake! I thought you were on my side..." Ruby cried out with the pouty face, one that Blake countered with her deadpanned look.
"Did he indeed? Well, I'm sure the Marshalcy would be more than willing to sort this out." The butler said, making the blacksmith smirk.
"Sort what out, Olivier?" A voice was heard as Pyrrha's father walked out to see the commotion.
"Er, a most serious accusation against your ward, sir." The butler, Olivier replied.
"He robbed me!" Victor pointed at Jaune.
"Of what, precisely?" Pyrrha's father asked, before turning to Jaune, "Wait for me in my library." Jaune simply nodded as he walked off inside as the screen faded to darkness.
"Ooh, someone's in trouble~." Yang teased in a sing-song voice, with her sister giggling. Much to the blonde's dismay.
The screen then showed a painting of Pyrrha in a beautiful green(?) dress inside the library.
Most of the audience were in awe of the painting, none more so than Jaune for some reason. For the blonde's jaw dropped, sporting a nosebleed before wiping the blood away as he felt an odd sensation in his chest, What is this? He thought.
"Don't give me that look." Jaune said, seemingly towards the painting, "Victor cheats when he plays Pharaoh, everyone knows it." He crossed his arms.
"Jaune? Who are you talking to?" Pyrrha's father asked from behind the blonde as Jaune turned.
"No one, (sir)!" Jaune quickly replied.
Some in the audience wore smirks on their face as they look to the blonde, who was blushing in embarrassment once more.
"That wasn't exactly no one, Jaune." Ren spoke up, a faint smirk on his face.
"Yeah, what do you think, Pyrrha?" Nora asked the redhead spartan, who was also blushing.
"I-I think we should just continue watching." Pyrrha deflected as most turned back to the screen, smug, teasing faces still evident on their faces.
"You'll be happy to learn I've persuaded Olivier to leave off calling the Marshalcy. Again." The Nikos patriarch explained.
"(Thank you, sir.)" Jaune thanked his adopted father.
"What is this, the sixth time? The seventh? Perhaps a new hobby might be better for your health." Pyrrha's father advised as he looked through his drawers.
"So it wasn't the first time, then?" Weiss commented with a raised eyebrow towards the blonde dork, who raised his hands in faux-surrender.
"Not me." Jaune reasoned, pointing towards his alternate version.
"Well, I find playing cards affords many opportunities for fresh air and exercise." Jaune retorted with an easy-going smile.
"We'll talk about this later. I have business in town, and must collect Pyrrha before I can attend to it." The patriarch said. At the mention of the redhead, Jaune's eyes widened.
"Pyrrha is here?" He asked, excitement in his voice.
"Only for the night." Jaune's adopted father explained, "She returns to Vale first thing tomorrow."
"Vale? Then where are they right now?" Ruby curiously asked, confusion in her face.
"Ah crap, forgot about that."Anon muttered before he explained to the group, "They are currently in the island of Vytal, where the most wealthy of people live, more specifically where the Valean Royal Family lives in at the Vytal Palace, where Jaune and his father went during the beginning of the viewing." The group nodded at the explanation.
"She'll need an escort, won't she? With you so preoccupied." Jaune persuaded.
"Very excited to see Pyrrha, aren't you Jaune?" Blake asked with a faint smirk.
"Well I.. Maybe we just haven't seen each other for a while. Yeah! That's it." Jaune reasoned, with Pyrrha nodding, albeit weakly.
"One of you running amok is quite enough. Remain here and see if Olivier has any chores for you." The father refused.
"I'm sure he does." The blonde muttered.
"What was that?" The older Nikos turned.
"Give my regards to Pyrrha." Jaune corrected himself with an innocent smile, his adopted father nodded as the screen faded to darkness.
The lights in the Theater lit up once more, signalling the end of the universe.
"So that's it?" Jaune asked, worry on his face as he wanted to see more.
"Well..." Billy stretched as he continued, "That was only the beginning of that universe, plus with all the heavy feelings and all that, I was hoping that there would be a more light-hearted universe next."
"Indeed, so for now..." Anon snapped his fingers as clones of himself walked out of him, holding 8 silver platters with many delicious meals.
"Enjoy dinner." All the clones said in unison as both teams stared at the food with stars in their eyes, while some drooled.
