April 1998-
Summary: Tony is in jail and is held for trial. Loyalties are divided. Tony is found guilty of custodial interference. Carly takes extreme action.
Carly tries to get closer to Jason, but he loves Robin. Nikolas develops feelings for Robin and breaks up with Sarah. Sarah accuses Robin of trying to steal her boyfriend. Robin assures Sarah her feelings are for Jason.
Elizabeth continues therapy.
Edward continues to interfere in Jason and Carly's lives. Edward tries to trick Carly into thinking that if something happens to Jason, Carly will need Edward's financial support.
4/1-19/1998
Virginia Benson, Carly's adoptive mother, dies. Carly realized that love makes a family, not a biological connection. Jason and Carly discuss how they are going to rear Michael. Carly tells Jason she knows Michael will always respect him, even fifteen or twenty years from now. Jason tells her she will be a good parent, too. They bond as they tell each other how thankful they are that Carly came to Jason the night she and Tony broke up.
Jason tells her he will take the monitor watch tonight. Carly smiles and waits. After Jason is asleep, she slips into his room wearing black lingerie and slips into bed with him. She starts to kiss him.
Jason says, "What the fuck, Carly! I've told you I am not interested. I am still in love with Robin. I only want us to be good friends."
Carly says, "I thought we were bonding. What happened to us raising Michael together?"
"Carly, we are not a couple. We can rear Michael together, but we will never be together in that way again."
Resigned, Carly returns to her bedroom.
Monica approaches Carly and tries to be kind to her. Carly, however, verbally attacks Monica. Monica says, "I'm not trying to take Michael away from you; I just want to be a part of my grandson's life."
Carly snidely says, "I'll think about it." Monica leaves.
Jason overhears and questions Carly's rudeness. "Carly, Monica was being friendly. She is not like Edward. We do not need more people on his side. What happened to your saying love does not need a biological connection?"
Carly stammers, "She's AJ's mother."
"Not according to you. According to you, I'm Michael's father. Monica is my adoptive mother. She's done nothing to deserve your rudeness.
"I…I...I don't know."
"Besides, Monica isn't a threat."
Pretending to act as Jason's emissary, Carly visits Robin in the hospital, and Robin admits that she was wrong not to tell Jason about Tony before confronting him. Robin tells Carly that she had opted to confront Tony out of fear of what Jason might have done to him.
Carly says, "Jason does not need you to be his guardian angel."
"Carly, I resolved to let Jason make his own choices, as evidenced by my silence about Michael's true paternity. I don't need you approaching me on his behalf. Jason didn't send you; I don't appreciate you pretending to speak for him."
GH discharges Robin, and the trial starts. Robin's testimony favors Tony.
4/20/1998
Carly rips into Robin. She can't understand how she could do this to Jason. Robin tells her the blame starts with her; she created this. She accuses Carly of building her son's life on a bed of lies.
"You are jealous you can't have a baby with Jason because you have HIV." Jason and Bobbie hear Carly's accusation.
Jason warns Carly not to speak like that to Robin. "It's time to go. I may disagree with Robin's testimony, but I don't tell her what to do. Don't ever pull the HIV card with Robin ever again!"
"Where is your loyalty to Michael?"
Jason grabs Carly's arm. "If you try to turn me against Robin, I will kick you out. You must live by my terms and never question my feelings for Michael again."
Robin is still at the courthouse, and Jason walks into the courtroom.
"Are you okay?
Robin chuckles, "I've heard worse. I can suffer through Carly for you. Do you understand why I said those things?"
"No, I don't."
Robin tries to explain. She thinks that Tony needs help, not years in prison. Jason tries to get her to see what Tony did was wrong, but she says, in a way, he has also stolen Michael, and if AJ knew, he could call it kidnapping.
Jason doesn't see how he could be kidnapping Michael; all he's doing is protecting him from the Quartermaines and keeping him with his mother. Robin doesn't want to argue a losing argument where Jason can't see the comparison. She apologizes if she said something that hurt him, and he says he isn't mad.
4/21-29/1998
Alexis represents Tony. She guides Tony toward a plea of "custodial interference." Carly is upset at the verdict, which carries a maximum sentence of one year. Jason tells her she must stay calm. "If Tony gets away with no jail time, I'll have to make a few phone calls, and you will have to stay by yourself." Carly doesn't understand what Jason is inferring and is unhappy that Jason would leave her alone.
Alexis argues for community service, and Dara agrees. Carly is furious and rushes toward Tony. Taggert tries to hold her back, but Carly grabs his gun and shoots Tony. Tony was severely injured and rushed to GH. Alan wouldn't allow Bobbie to assist due to her relationship with Tony. Jeff agrees to operate with Monica, and they save Tony's life.
Mac blasted Taggert for keeping his gun unfastened. Jason tried to keep a fragile Carly from panicking about her future.
Ned threatened Tony that the Quartermaines would make his life hell if he ever came near Michael again. Tony received a visit from Jason.
AJ told Carly and Jason that he had put all his anger and hatred behind him and accepted Jason and Carly as Michael's parents. AJ said he would do whatever it took to ensure the Quartermaines would leave Michael alone. Dara had ordered a psychiatric evaluation of Carly; either she would stay in jail or be sent to a mental institution.
4/30/1998
Jason and Bobbie visit Carly in jail. She expresses concern that she will be found mentally unstable and have Michael taken away from her. Bobbie tells Carly she will visit Michael every day. Carly tells Bobbie she understands the pain Bobbie must have felt when she had to give her up for adoption. Bobbie tells Carly they will have plenty of time to talk about the past, and now she needs to concentrate all her energy on Michael.
At GH, Tony thanks Robin for her testimony. Robin says, "I wanted the judge to see the other side of you. It doesn't absolve you for what you did to me and Michael."
"Michael remains in danger with Carly and Jason as his parents."
"Tony, I'm surprised you still don't regret your actions. Jason would never let Michael get hurt. I believed you took Michael out of grief. I was wrong."
"Robin, you know how dangerous Jason is; you are too in love with him to see that. You need to stay away from him because Jason will wind up killing you and Michael."
"I hope you get therapy with your community service." Robin leaves.
Jason arrives at the PH to get Michael ready to visit Carly. Robin walks down the stairs and tells him she went to see Tony. She confronts Jason about his visit to Tony and tells him Michael has lost Carly; he doesn't need to lose Jason. Jason says he won't do anything that would cause Michael to lose him. Robin offers to help Jason while Carly is gone.
At GH, Alan pops more pills and walks into Tony's room. Tony asks about the latest on Carly. Alan says, "Carly is under a psychiatric evaluation. You should be under one, too."
Tony replies, "Michael is halfway home. You should be happy I tried to save him. Hire a lawyer to get Michael away from Jason. Wake up and realize Jason isn't the same anymore."
"The same could be said about you. You aren't the same anymore, either. Jason loves Michael. You did this for payback." Alan storms out.
May 1998
Summary: Robin tells Nikolas about her conversation with Sarah. Nikolas tells her he and Sarah broke up because they came from different worlds and weren't compatible. He says he is lucky to have found Robin. Robin wants to know what he means. He knows he is younger than her, but he feels he is mature enough for her. Robin tells him she loves Jason and is only interested in friendship.
Edward wants to go after custody of Michael. The whole family disagrees. Lila tells her husband to let things go. Justus visits Carly in Shadybrook. She tries to manipulate him. Ned warns Carly about Edward. He tells her he knows what it is like to be away from your child, and aside from Emily and Grandmother, Jason is the only decent relative he has. Carly thanks him.
Elizabeth recalls more details of her attack. She recognizes a familiar scent, leading her to research body soaps. Elizabeth and Lucky grow closer.
Brenda and Jason are in a plane crash. The ELQ jet crashed, leaving Brenda and Jason to fend for their survival. Brenda is injured, and Jason rescues her. Jax and his brother Jerry rescue the pair. Edward sees Jason's disappearance and Carly's stay in jail as an opportunity to get Michael. Robin and Jason's relationship develops.
Stefan and Katherine announced their engagement and planned a masked ball to celebrate. Luke concluded that it was the ideal setting to murder Helena. Katherine takes the fall instead. Laura returns to Port Charles and faces some surprises.
Keesha moved to Philadelphia to care for her ill father.
5/1-6/1998
Justus visits Carly in Shadybrook. He tells her Jason went to Manhattan. They discuss her case. Carly tells him she pretended to space out when a doctor tried to give her an evaluation. "I wanted to talk to you first. How should I explain my behavior? Do I tell the truth?"
"Do not lie. It will get you into trouble if you lie."
"I know you don't like me, but since you work for Jason, you owe it to be honest with Jason and me."
"Since I work for Jason, I will be honest with him, but I'm not sure how long Jason will be honest."
"What the fuck does that mean?"
"Tony was an honest person also; then he met you."
"It's not my fault Tony kidnapped Michael. What happened in court is not my fault. I snapped. Tony getting community service made me snap. Taggert was there. His gun was there. I didn't plan on shooting Tony. That's my defense."
Justus rubs his face and mutters, "I cannot wait until Jason returns. I don't have the patience for this shit." He says, "Carly, do not offer that as a defense. Jason will be back in a day. Don't say anything until he returns."
"Fine, you know I don't like you either." Justus returns to the PH and checks with Letecia. He says Bobbie will be over later to visit Michael.
Emily was upset over Edward's plans. She calls and warns Justus. The following morning, Edward arrives at Jason's PH with a court order for Michael. Justus produces documents stating if anything were to happen to Jason, Michael would go to Bobbie. Edward leaves, returns with Dara and Taggert, and orders Justus to turn over Michael immediately. Justus asks Taggert to arrest Edward because he has signed documents from a judge giving custody to Bobbie. He also has copies of the restraining order. Taggert then threatens to arrest Edward if he doesn't vacate the PH immediately.
Encouraged by the positive session with her therapist, Carly looked forward to a better life after her release from Shadybrook. Her hopes were shattered when Bobbie told Carly the news about Jason. Carly feared for Jason's safety and that the Quartermaines would take Michael away. Bobbie assured Carly that Michael would be safe from the Quartermaines, thanks to Justus.
5/7-9/1998
Lucky and Elizabeth discuss her rape, and Lucky questions the validity of his advice to her. He tells her that Luke taught him to get even with people who have hurt those you care about. She asks Lucky what Laura is like. Lucky tells Elizabeth he doesn't understand how Laura could forgive and marry Luke. Lucky asks her if she could do the same. Elizabeth admits she could never do what Laura did but tells Lucky she's not his mother and she can't judge Laura.
Jax tells Felicia it doesn't look hopeful that Brenda and Jason survived the crash, and even if they did, they might not live due to their injuries or the elements. Robin overhears.
Jax apologizes to Robin and says he hasn't given up on Brenda or Jason. He leaves. Felecia comforts Robin. Robin tells her not to feel sorry for her because she is a fool. She feels terrible for breaking up with Jason because she thought it was for Jason's sake but because she feared losing someone she loved. Robin vows to get back together with Jason if God should give them another chance.
Jason and Brenda struggle to survive the crash. Brenda told Jason about her history with him before his accident and loss of memory. Brenda thought it was sad that Jason had chosen power over Robin's love. Jason told Brenda that Robin left him because he liked the thrills of his business, and she did not. Jason says, "After Tony kidnapped Michael, I know how Robin felt when she was around me because I was worried about his welfare."
Brenda realizes how deeply Jason loves Robin. Jason tells Brenda how Robin had made him happy and taught him what love meant.
5/10-14/1998
Alan buys pills from a drug dealer. Tony began the first day of his community service sentence by working at a drug rehab clinic. Alan arrives after overdosing on pain medication. Alan woke up at the clinic, surprised to learn that Tony had saved him. Tony informed him that no one knew what had happened, including Monica and his family. Tony told Alan to go to rehab, but Alan was in denial.
Brenda recuperated at GH and told Jax that Jason had saved her life. Robin visits her at the hospital. Brenda tells her what happened and that she's made peace with Jason. Robin tells Brenda that she's not going to stay away from Jason anymore and that she wants to "give herself to him completely." Brenda tells her that she loves her and not to rush into anything.
Jason takes Michael to see Carly. He tells her Edward will never get close to Michael again, and he has called in a favor with a judge who will be on their side when the time comes. He says he's going to Puerto Rico on business, and Michael will be with him. As soon as Jason leaves, Edward shows up. He tells Carly that he went after Michael to protect him. Carly vows never to let him near Michael again. Edward leaves and calls his friend Pete, the judge, to suggest a lunch date. "Oh, and by the way, Carly Benson seems irrational and paranoid," he says to the judge.
Bobbie tells Elizabeth not to give up on the possibility that making love can be a good experience, even after something as horrible as rape. When Liz tells her that she can't possibly know what it's like, Bobbie tells her about her past as a hooker.
Robin visits Nikolas on Spoon Island. She tells him she received the engagement party invite and wants to ensure he understands their relationship. "I still love Jason and always will."
Masking his disappointment, Nikolas tells her he wants to be her friend and encourages her to bring Jason to the party. Robin laughs, "Jason would rather have a root canal than go to a masked ball."
5/15-18/1998
Robin arrives at the PH and enters Jason's room. She sits beside his bed and strokes his face. Jason wakes up and is surprised to see her there. He asks why she is there.
"I love you and always will. I'm sorry for hurting you and for being a coward."
Robin says she wants to be with him, and they kiss. Robin takes condoms out of her purse, and Jason realizes she wants to have sex. He is surprised, but Robin says, I want to if you still do. I'm still afraid of giving you HIV; there will always be a risk, but the decision is yours to make. I can't decide for you." Jason pulls her to him, and they make love.
Robin and Jason awake and talk about what their life will be like now that they are together. Michael wakes, and Jason gets dressed. There is a knock at the door. Jason heads to answer it. Robin carries Michael downstairs and sees Sonny.
Sonny meets his namesake. Jason tells Sonny about Tony's abduction of Michael and Robin. Robin makes them both promise not to do anything to get back at Tony. Jason asks if he's back for good. Sonny asks Robin if she and Jason are okay. She explains their situation and tells Sonny that Brenda had a nervous breakdown after he left and had to be hospitalized. "Because of me?" he asks. "I only did it because I wanted her to hate me and be free."
Robin goes upstairs so Sonny and Jason can discuss business.
Jason says, "It's been hard without you."
"At least you learned how to dress."
"Carly shopped for me."
"Who is Michael's real father?"
"I am."
"Wow! I think this is the first time you have lied to me. I know you would never cheat on Robin. Who is the biological father?" Jason tells him what happened with Carly, AJ, and Tony.
5/19-20/1998
Jason brings Michael to see Carly. "Robin and I are back together."
Carly tries bad-mouthing Robin, but he tells her it won't work. "Carly, don't start. I love Robin. I told you not to make me choose."
Carly whines, "I'm afraid Robin will make you hate me." He swears that will not happen.
"What happens if you get serious and get married? She'll take Michael away from us."
"Carly, we are serious, but beyond that, my main concern is getting you out of the hospital."
5/21/1998
Carly talks to Bobbie about her relationship with Jason. Bobbie reiterates that Jason loves Robin, and she can not judge their relationship. Bobbie asks her daughter if Jason ever gave her reason to think otherwise, and Carly replies, "No, but if it wasn't for Robin, Jason and I would have a chance. I'd do anything for Jason."
"Carly, you can't will a person to love you. It didn't work when Tony left me for you."
After her mother leaves, Carly says, "Maybe I can't will Jason to love me, but I can make it so he will despise Robin. My secret weapon is Michael. I will show Jason that Robin is unnecessary as long as he has Michael. He can't have Michael without me as his mother. Robin may pretend to be saintly, but I'm a bitch who won't give up."
Lucky and Elizabeth are at Kelly's having lunch, and they discuss the investigation of the rape. "Dad went with me to the PCPD this morning, and I told Detective Taggert I recognized the scent of my attacker. It was soap. I smelled something similar to it on my shift last night. He may be a customer at Kelly's. Dad doesn't want me to work at night unless he or Sarah can pick me up. I get my learner's permit next week, but I still have to take classes and drive with adults."
"I don't mind walking you home after your shifts. Tomorrow we could check into the soap shop in the mall. They have a variety of specialty soaps."
"Are you still staying with your Aunt Bobbie?"
"Yes, I can't forgive my dad. I may need to find another place to live if he won't stop showing up to check on me. Emily told me her brother lived in a boxcar outside the city limits after his accident. I went to see it yesterday. The city padlocked them, but I picked the lock, and it's liveable this time of year. I need to grab my sleeping bag and camping gear from the house, but I will move there this week."
"That's great, Lucky."
"Could you help me decorate?"
Elizabeth looks perplexed. "With what? There's no electricity, and I doubt Ikea delivers."
Lucky laughs, "No, I've seen you in art class and looked at your sketches during your breaks. You have talent, Elizabeth. Maybe you could paint me some furniture."
Elizabeth shrugs, "Sure, why not? I'm on my way to GH for therapy if you care to walk with me."
As they walk, Lucky asks, "How is your therapy going?"
"I've directed my anger toward my attacker instead of feeling I'm responsible for my attack. I want to find the person who hurt me. My description was too vague, and a soap smell is not much to go on. Taggert says he is checking for similar reports."
"I heard Bobbie talk about a masked ball at Spoon Island, where Nikolas's Uncle Stefan is announcing his engagement to Katherine Bell tomorrow. Would you like to crash the party?"
"Emily will be there with her family. Dad was invited, but he had to work. Sarah is pissed at Nikolas, and I don't think she will be there. Sure, why not? I'll ask Sarah to cover for me if Dad or Gram calls."
5/21-27/1998
Nikolas meets Robin at the launch from Port Charles. Robin tells Katherine she is happy for her. Katherine says everyone thinks she is crazy for marrying Stefan, but she loves him. Robin smiles and says she understands. The Quartermaines show up, minus Monica, who has had to work late, and Edward gripes about what a mistake Katherine is making.
Elizabeth and Lucky sneak onto the island to watch the ball. They watch the waltz from a window. Elizabeth says, "Robin Scorpio is dancing with Nikolas. Her dress is beautiful. I wish I knew how to dance like that. Gram and Gramps tried once a few years before he died, but I lost interest."
"It's no big deal. My parents used to dance all the time at the Triple L Diner they owned in Canada. Mom showed me how. Emily and her cousin Ned are dancing, too."
"Can you do better?"
"Yes. I'll show you how. It's simple; watch my feet." Lucky shows Elizabeth the basic steps and takes her hand. He counts as they step.
Elizabeth laughs as she looks down at their sneakers and blue jeans. "Despite my stepping on your feet, this is the most fun I've had in months. You've made me forget my troubles tonight."
As the Wyndemere engagement party continued, Alexis failed to lure Helena to her death. Luke saw Katherine at the parapet wall and ran to stop her, but the sight of Laura made Katherine make the final misstep that led to her fall.
Nikolas and Robin stumble upon Katherine's body and rush to her side. Mac appears and tries to help. All Nikolas can say is that he knows she fell from the parapet. Robin calls Jason, but since he's out, she leaves her message with Sonny.
Brenda turns on the radio, hearing about Katherine's accident. She calls Robin at Jason's, and Sonny picks up. Brenda says hello and gets no answer but hears someone breathing on the other end. She hangs up.
Luke walks into his house to find Laura. Laura says she'd like to come home and be with him and Lucky. He welcomes her back. Luke asks if she's spoken to him, and she says his door was closed, and she didn't want to wake him. Little does she know he isn't even there.
Stefan told Mac that Luke was responsible for Katherine's accident. Robin comforted Nikolas.
Brenda shows up at the penthouse and sees Sonny. He tells Brenda the truth. He left her to ensure her safety. Brenda recalls all she went through due to his actions. They discussed the good and bad things about their history together as they brought their relationship to a close. Brenda goes to Jax's PH and tells him about her visit to Sonny. She says she loves only Jax and that Sonny is in her past.
Bobbie and Luke discussed the implications of Laura's return, considering she still did not know what had happened between Lucky and Nikolas. Bobbie learned that Luke and Laura had never discussed the rape.
Elizabeth helps Lucky with his move and paints fake appliances and furniture on the boxcar walls.
5/28/1998
Jason and Michael visit Carly at the hospital. Carly asks how Jason and Robin are doing and mentions to Jason that she could let Bobbie take care of Michael if he is a problem for Robin and Jason. Jason tells her that he loves having Michael around. Carly expresses her concern that Michael will begin to think that Robin is his mother since she is away. Jason says, "Michael knows you are his mother. I tell him every day."
"But while I'm locked away, Robin plays mommy to my son."
"You don't need to worry; everything will be okay. Robin is helping but is not trying to take your place."
5/29-31/1998
Edward argues at the house about what to do with Jason, and Monica tells him to put a sock in it.
Laura arrives home with Lulu. Laura goes to the club, and Luke is not there. She decides to wait for him. Lucky arrives. He's there to get food for himself and Elizabeth from the club's kitchen. Elizabeth said they could eat at the boxcar but promised her father she'd be home by 7:30 pm.
Luke is at GH and asks Audrey if she's seen Elizabeth. Elizabeth arrives, and Luke asks her if Lucky is with her. She tells him she can't tell him anything Lucky wouldn't tell Luke himself. Luke asks her to tell Lucky he must see him tonight. Luke leaves to search for Laura.
Lucky isn't happy to see his mother. She goes to hug him, but he refuses. Lucky tells her Nikolas was shot at the Blues Club. Laura is upset she was kept in the dark. Lucky acts like he doesn't care. Laura wants to know why he is so angry. Lucky tells her it is because she married his father. He taunts her and clues her to what he learned from Nikolas. Laura justifies what happened the night at the club and then gets angry with Lucky for judging her. She says, "I am the only one to whom it happened, and I am the only one who knows how it felt."
"I know what it was like. It happened to Elizabeth, and I've seen what it's done to her."
"I am your mother and the person with whom you will always be the closest. However, I had a life before you, and I don't have to explain anything that happened before you were born. It is my life, not yours. Luke and I have always loved each other." She accuses Lucky of using one moment to create a monster called his mother and a monster called his father and forgetting about what his life was like before he found out.
Lucky says, "I'm upset because my parents lied to me about who they were." He leaves.
June 1998

Alexis informs Luke she's determined to clear her brother of the charges. He encourages Alexis to pin Katherine's death on Helena.

Luke details what's been going on with Lucky and how he feels about his father since he found out. Laura feels she's lost both of her sons. She thinks Luke should have forced Lucky to stay. Elizabeth introduced herself to Laura and shared her experience.
The 5th Annual Nurses Ball takes place.
6/1-8/1998
Lucky meets Elizabeth at the docks. Due to his argument with his mother, he forgot to bring the food from the club. Elizabeth gives him the message Luke told her at the hospital. Lucky says his mom is back, and his dad must be afraid he would see her first and tell everyone.
Lucky says, "My mom had no idea what happened since she left. It was all a shock. But as always, she made excuses for Dad and herself. What they built on was wrong and just hid the truth."
Luke confronted Lucky for what he had said to Laura. Lucky says, "I have no goddam regrets. You and Mom are in no position to lecture me about anything. Just because she returned, I'm not coming home."

Bobbie visits Carly. Carly is looking at a picture of Jason and Michael. Carly says, "I'm afraid Robin would take Jason away from me."
"I told Jason that he might eventually have to choose between having Robin or you living at the PH with him."
"Why is it so wrong for me to want to keep my family with Jason and Michael intact?"
"Because a family is based on love, not coercion. You need to learn from your mistakes and not repeat them."
"If you ever mention "the choice" to Jason again, you might never see your grandson."
"Carly, stop with the threats. You might be the one never to see Michael again if Jason chooses Robin." Bobbie leaves.
Brenda convinces the photographer to shoot a few pictures of Emily, who received a glamorous makeover from Brenda's stylist. The photographer shoots more pictures than he intended.
6/15/1998
Lucky returns home to find Nikolas and Lulu. Nikolas asks him why he would want to punish Laura for something Luke did. "She picked you, and even though she's in excruciating pain, it's not enough for you."
Laura asks Nikolas to come back to the house anytime he wants. He reminds her that Lucky and Luke won't be happy. "I've been trying to please everyone for so long, and look where it's gotten me. Now I'm going to please myself." He agrees to return.
Elizabeth Webber visits Laura. "Lucky is good and kind; you must be that way, too. We have something else in common besides my last name and your maiden name." Laura realizes Elizabeth is the girl Lucky told her about. Laura immediately hugs her. Elizabeth tells Laura about going to the park and having the rape come back to haunt her in one fast moment. "Has that ever happened to you?" Laura takes her in her arms again, not responding.
6/29/1997
Elizabeth has another session with Gail. She tells her that she's tired of being a victim. Gail says it will take time to conquer her fears, but she will one day get past them. Elizabeth tells Lucky about her session. Lucky asks why she's so hard on herself when she's come so far. "I still need to go farther," she replies.
Elizabeth asks if Lucky will help her. "Of course, I would do anything for you."
"Would you kiss me? If it doesn't go well, I won't be too mortified and need to explain my reaction." Lucky says that he's willing to try. They lean in to embrace, very nervous and awkward when Liz suddenly jumps up and runs off.

Edward greets AJ, informing him that the doctors will meet next week on Carly's case, and he encourages AJ to visit. "She'll need a friendly shoulder to lean on."

Edward visits Carly at the psychiatric facility. He surprised her with the information that her court date had been changed to next week. Edward tempts her with the thought that Robin might convince Jason not to visit her and help her prepare. Carly sees through the elder Quartermaine and accuses him of trying to make her mad. She tells Edward that Jason has never let her down, and he is only angry because he has no control over Jason.
Jason takes Michael to visit Carly. She plans for her release tomorrow, but Jason warns her that it's not a sure thing and that she might not come home tomorrow. Carly refuses to listen and says, "There's no way in hell I won't get released tomorrow. We need to discuss Robin. I don't want here there when I get out."
Jason tells her they'll talk about Robin when it's time to deal with it. Jason leaves, and Bobbie arrives. Carly tells her she's leaving tomorrow, and there won't be a trial. Bobbie asks about Robin. "Robin won't be an issue; Jason and I already discussed it. Robin will be gone when I get home." Bobbie shakes her head in disbelief.
Jason asks Robin if she's okay with Carly coming home. Robin replies, "As long as we're together, I'll be fine."

Carly discovered she was not getting out of Shadybrook as expected and was held for trial. A desperate Carly implements her plan to act crazy. Bobbie visits Carly at Shadybrook and believes she has lost touch with reality. Jason and Justus arrive with a court order for Carly's release, but they are too late. Jason is confident that Carly is faking.
Jason argues with Carly's doctor. The doctor informs him that Carly will be transferred to a state penal maximum security institution. She is not allowed visitors, including Jason or Bobbie, for at least the first two months. Jason makes a phone call and sneaks into Carly's room. He is furious.
Carly accuses Jason of lying to her. In her rage, she calls Robin "white trash" and says, "You have no fucking right to give Robin my baby!"
Jason yells at Carly, "Carly, you are your worst enemy. I warned you about Edward and his plan to use you. I got the court order for your release, but you ruined everything."
Carly is stunned, "I can fix this by explaining the situation to the doctor."
"It's too late. I can't let you do that because the doctor would declare you sane, and then you'd have to stand trial because the court order is now invalid." He tells Carly about her transfer and promises not to give up on her. Carly is led away to the penal institution.
Edward tells AJ how he plans to taunt Carly with pictures of Robin and Michael together when Justus enters the room. Justus tells the Quartermaines about Carly's transfer. Edward pretends to express concern for her, but Justus tells him to save it. He explains that Jason knows all about their little plan and is furious. Jason will no longer support the docks project and will hold the Qs accountable for Carly's situation.
Jason lashed out at Edward for causing Carly to be sent away. "Old Man, I warned you several times not to go after Michael or Carly. I tried to get along for Grandmother and Emily's sake, but I will shut down the docks for any product you want to be shipped or received. I'll use Alan's drug addiction, and I have proof he stole one of my guns. Stay away from Michael!"
Ned says, "I warned you, Grandfather. I'm with Jason on this one. Grandmother will not be happy."
Bobbie visited Jason and learned that Carly had been faking her breakdown.

"You are a good friend, but I'm glad you didn't run away with him."
"Without your support, I don't think I would have stayed. Thank you, Dad."

AJ calls Alan an addict. Alan hits him in front of Emily. Emily tends to AJ. Monica returns and finds out. AJ takes Emily to Jason. Emily comes in, visibly upset. She tells Jason that Alan hit AJ. AJ says, "Dad needs help. The family tried an intervention, but he refused to admit he had a problem. Jason, I'm sorry about Carly. I don't understand Grandfather's obsession with Michael. He's not like this about Brooklyn. Maybe he only cares about male heirs."
"AJ, I appreciate your help, but I can only deal with two crises at a time. I'll help Emily if I can, but I must get Carly home to Michael. Alan is not my problem unless he goes after Emily. She can't defend herself; you can. Maybe jail will help him if he doesn't go to rehab."
"Can Emily stay with you tonight? I'm returning to the house to help Ned and Mom. Michael is better off that you are Michael's father; you are better equipped to keep him safe from Edward. Be careful because he won't give up." AJ leaves.
Jason and Emily talk about her trip. Jason says, "Just because modeling isn't something I would do doesn't mean I won't support you."
Emily tells Jason about Alan and about the accident they had. "Dad gave me some of his pain pills; I took some for my neck pain. I knew they were addictive. Please, he needs help, not jail." Please, Jason."
"I'll try. Do you want to stay tonight?"
"I want to go home, but I'm grateful I have somewhere to go if I need to get away."
"I'll get Johnny to take you back if you are ready."
Elizabeth tells Lucky she has times when she's fine, not normal because she's never been that, but when she doesn't think about the rape, the times have been with Lucky. She wants to get to the point where she is okay all the time.
Elizabeth visits Laura and asks her how she got past the rape. "My situation was different than yours. You experienced everyone's worst nightmare, getting raped by a stranger."
"Isn't getting raped by someone you love worse? I lost my virginity that night."
"No, you didn't; you still haven't made love with someone."
"Thank you. I hope one day, Lucky can forgive you and Luke."
Laura smiles sadly, "Me too."
Lucky hands Elizabeth a tape he made for her. Elizabeth tells Lucky she feels guilty for having done something behind his back. She starts talking about Lucky and his family. She says, "You are good at knowing what I need, even when I don't ask for it. I wanted to do the same for him. The run-in you had with your parents wasn't entirely accidental. I'm sorry if I overstepped. I'll understand if you are angry." Liz hits play. Lucky sings a soft love song called "Elizabeth."

Laura tells him that he was raised with love while Luke was abused. Lucky doesn't want to hear any excuses. "Besides, I know you were raped and beaten. I saw proof pictures; she even colored them."
"Beaten?! Who is she?"
"Helena gave me the photos."
"Stay away from Helena! She's the devil! No matter what you believe, Luke has never once hit me."
