A/E: Set between Episode 01 and alteration of Asuka's arrival whereas she joined NERV. This chapter will retell events for Shinji as well as Godzilla's terrifying terror for the upcoming impact between humanity and the other monster.

Chapter 1: The Enlighten City and Horrors of the Past

UNKNOWN

Beyond the place for many not to know as this world should not exist or ever be true to form. This reality now lies in nothingness as the void that changes or is without meaning toward some vision... a dream? To what foretells of events? The future that lies in the abyss as the bane of the past is written.

Among this strange world, a single light that lingers upon this place as a closer view toward that light is a woman. Brown hair and eyes closed while she floated among this void as she slowly began to open her eyes. The woman is Yui Ikari, Gendo's husband and Shinji's mother, who has now entered this strange plane.

Yui wonders about her surroundings and recalls memories of her life before her time inside Unit 01 as the days were a song to be played out. She questions why she's here in this place, feeling something off as a terrible atmosphere with a dark and strong aura. Even a strong emotion of… Rage and Agony the feeling that surrounds her.

Even this was strong enough to break through the AT-Fields like a force was screaming at her.

(Music Start - Persecution of the Masses - Composed by Shiro Sagisu - from Shin Godzilla)

Unknownst to her, a dark aura slowly rises from the shadows as the dark force catches up to Yui as she notices this. The force slowly unveils itself as the spirits of the lost as they're the lost souls of many innocents who died in WWII and the Second Impact, as the number of them wasn't just thousands. But an ocean of them, the sea of spirits, surrounds Yui, like a ship trapped in a raging thunderstorm, without any idea or means of this place. Hands began to grab her as Yui tried to be free from their grasp, but it was in vain. She was helpless and heard someone… no, not someone… but everyone.

"You forsaken us!"

"NOO! Please!"

"Why!"

"Left us to die!"

"It's your fault!"

"They deserved it!"

"It HURTS!"

"They must die!"

"You left us to DIE!"

"You did this!"

"WHY!"

"They did this to us!"

"Aaaah!"

"They forsaken us… forsake the world!"

"DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!"

"Your fault!"

"Why did you do that to us!?"

"Monster!"

The screams and cries of the undead began to overwhelm her as she began to feel a sense among every soul. Waves of vengeful spirits, slowly began to form, were suffering and furious as Yui sensed her surroundings while enduring their grasp, throwing her around as if they were punishing or judging. Not just her but the living. Every one of them is furious with the living, the people who forgot them… forgetting what happened as it upset them because their lives were taken from them and it was worth nothing toward what the living did. She struggles as if she is bound in this mass, like being caught in a storming sea, but it is not just water that makes her fear; instead, she is in an ocean of collective will. The will to carry out, to survive, to bring vengeance. Overwhelmed by this, Yui feels like she's drowning and clinging on as a matter of time while the ominous force becomes one. Yui's sight of view, just moments, got a view of something… that something was big. A giant figure, with every spirit, started from black to blue to white as Yui stared at this Titanic thing. This thing was reptilian and dinosaur-like, with two large fangs with large dorsal plates larger than man, and this being had a fearsome aura.

Yui can't comprehend what she sees and finds herself standing in front of a shadow figure with two glowing white eyes as if god incarnated to reality and brought judgment against one thing.

Humanity.

"SKREEEEEOONK!"

Soon, reality shattered as everything fell into oblivion as Yui and the monster vanished from that world. Back to zero… back to nothing…

Tokyo-3 (Mistro's Apartment) - 8:00 am (5/30/2015)

Japan, the eastern edge of Asia, is a fascinating place with a long and rich history filled with unique and exciting cultural customs. But now, certain places like Tokyo have changed due to the after-effects of the Second Impact as it creates new cities like Tokyo two and Three after the Post-Second Impact.

One city is quite a particular place as it holds significant importance that factors between the world and humanity. Tokyo-3, a city designed and built for a special organization, spans roughly 1.5 km as a massive underground cavity called GeoFront underneath the city. NERV, the special organization created after the Second Impact and successor to its predecessor, is dedicated to combating a threat and is responsible for creating giant humanoid beings called Evangelion.

For what lies for the city holds more than just NERV, but the pilots as one of them now reside at one place. Well… that place is…

The place is an apartment building, an apartment block fairly distant from the city as inside of the apartment is quite something for a woman with long dark violet hair around 29 years old by the name, Misato Katsuragi. She is the Operations director at NERV and caretaker of a 14 year old boy, who resides at this apartment.

Shinji Ikari, who was sleeping in his bedroom as much of his life was strange because of meeting his father and arrival to NERV, has changed a lot for him as he piloted Eva Unit 01. A purple mecha that fought and defeated three angels. But things were different as Shinji moved side to side on his bed with sweat around his forehead. The boy dreams a nightmare as within were flashes from NERV, his mother and father at peace together, destruction of EVA Units, the blue oceans, and finding peace. A dream of the future. The path of freedom.

Shinji awakens from his sleep and breathing heavily, almost having a heart attack as he looks around his room. Shinji leaves his room as Misato and alongside her was a girl with long auburn hair around the same age as him, Asuka Langley Sohryu, doing their daily morning routine.

"Well for the past few days and there's no angels!?" the bored Asuka asked Misato.

"I can't say, Asuka. We're standby and await orders from NERV. Just think of this as a vacation for you, Shinji, and Rei"

Deep down, Asuka thought about Shinji and gained his attention, toward her better skills and well showing how strong she can be. "This is temporary for me because I will idiot Shinji and doll"

"What's going on?"

Asuka spots Shinji, "Well, look who's awake."

"Hmm?!" Shinji looked at her, ""Morning, Asuka." But looking at her and Misato caused Shinji's head to ache as flashes began to appear in his mind. Asuka wears an eye patch and Misato with a cold expression to him as well his mother looking at him.

"Argh!"

"Are you okay, Shinji!?" Misato worriedly spoke to him.

Shinji, momentarily stunned by these flashes, spoke, "Yeah? I'm okay? Just have a small headache for unknown reasons? I don't know why?" With his response, Misato oddly looks at him as Shinji right now feels okay like nothing had happened to him. But for him, a sense of deja vu here because it's like he's replaying his life for unknown reasons.

"So what's the matter with everyone?"

"Well, Shinji, NERV has found little or nothing happening at this moment? Only having a temporary spike in energy miles away from Japan, but it was seconds before it disappeared and we couldn't find it. Like it vanishes from thin air. We were unable to identify the source."

Asuka spoke, "Even that matters to what I can show to the freaks. Hm!" With a smirk on her face that she rethinks her proud skills.

"No clue for these energy readings or the recent incident with the disappearance of a cargo ship and nuclear submarine."

"Missing ship and sub?" Shinji asked and wondered about her words as he felt deep down that there's something wrong but can't know why. What is it?

"Days before defeating the Seventh Angel, a cargo ship carrying supplies to Japan has disappeared and recently a U.N. nuclear submarine near Tokyo vanished too."

Shinji senses a dark aura, faint, from her words like a terrible omen of events to come? It was just his imagination that's what he said to himself in his mind. Misato turns on the television as the screen shows a news reporter speaking on his mic.

"We're at the scene at Mt. Myoko is what appears to be some kind of land slide," the news reporter spoke and stood behind yellow tapes as authorities were there.

"A scene that best describes luck as a truck driver being alive after this unfortunate timing. At 9:30 pm, this truck was transporting livestock to a farm, far from here through the tunnels. Until the tunnel collapsed on itself as he made out of the danger."

Back to the apartment, Mistao wanders while taking a sip as she stares at the TV while Shinji looks on as the news catches his attention.

"Huh?! That happened yesterday? Hmm?" Mistao thinks of investigating the matter but reconsider the matter to be meaningless because how do this relate to Angels. While Asuka, Shinji, and Mistao thought about the incident, as back to the news reporter at the scene. When something unexpected happens…

"GODZILLA! IT WAS GODZILLA! AHHH! GODZILLAAA!"

They heard the loud noise as the news camera was looking at a man sitting on the ambulance with a blanket covering his shoulders. The man kept on shouting this word out loud while an investigator was questioning the man. The man continued his claim, "It was Godzilla! It's GODZILLA!"

Everyone in the apartment pondered at the scene as Asuka spoke, "What the hell is Godzilla?"

Mistao wondered and asked the same question, "I have no idea what it means? But I think it's something else."

Shinji, puzzled by this as the word 'Godzilla' means anything at all as Mistao and Asuka respond to this, was enough to tell it was just something made up by someone. But now Shinji never heard 'Godzilla' and why it sounds dreadful. On the television, the news reporter talked about the person, "That was the driver who survived this incident, as an investigator is talking to him right now. Unfortunately we're not allowed to speak to the driver as what paramedics say is his condition is unstable over the recent events. So ill advised to any drivers who are traveling, who are driving to this road, it is closed off for the time being."

Pacific Ocean - (5/9/2015) - 425 miles from Tokyo-3

In the dark depth lies rocks and sands in the crimson sea as the life of the Red Ocean remains vague as little life is trying to thrive in their new aquatic environments. Among the seafloor, the ghost of the past who was passing by after feeding off the radiation of Tokyo and now setting his judgment on humanity. Godzilla, a nuclear being who now seeks to bring his vengeance to humanity, has come to face the state of the world. Sensing everything is near extinct and how the waters are unnatural for balance. Even the status of humanity because how foolish of them to forget and forge their future on technology that's beyond themselves. Godzilla means nothing to him as he wishes to complete and set the balance in the world while, no matter how little, humankind survives his rage. They can't forget but will remember their arrogance and everything they did.

Among the darkness, a creature measuring 270 meters long, moving toward Godzilla as this thing is an angel, Gaghiel. Godzilla senses this as he turns to face his upcoming opponent. Gaghiel charged at full speed and rammed into Godzilla as this deep battle seemed little to all… for Godzilla. Annoyed at this strange attacker, Godzilla smacked Gaghiel with full might as it lost some of its teeth while Gaghiel was in pain by its strength. This action lets Godzilla be free and Gaghiel goes around for another attack, but it opens its jaws. Revealing a red, spherical organ, called a Core and soon Gaghiel bites onto Godzilla as he begins to thrash Godzilla like a shark biting into its prey.

The reason for Gaghiel was that it detected an anomaly and headed there as that anomaly was Godzilla. But now, the battle between a god and angel in the underwater battle, is beyond from view but alone this left the testament of the God of Destruction, to remark his triumphant return to the world.

(Music Start - Godzilla's Rage - Composed by Kow Otani - From GMK)

Godzilla was furious and super annoyed by this being as the aquatic angel grasped onto Godzilla through the deep dark sea, then Godzilla's whole body began to spark as well a blinding light emitting through his whole body. Godzilla unleashed a blast-wave that burned the jaws of the angel and Gaghiel was surprised by this as well as in pain by this attack. Gaghiel was far from Godzilla as the aquatic angel was shaking off the wound and commencing another attack.

While Godzilla, who recovered quickly, stood on the seafloor and his dorsal fins began to glow blue with his pale eyes glowing brightly white. Then white sparks at Godzilla's dorsal plates were everywhere as he pulled a powerful attack that his aquatic opponent wasn't unknowingly heading to this incoming attack.

Gaghiel, moving fast, was heading dead on at Godzilla, and it would seem that this fight would last. But this was the mistake for the angel as Godzilla opens his mouth as his mouth is glowing bright blue.

Godzilla unleashes a powerful long range beam that lights up the dark abyss and it was heading to Gaghiel head on. Stucking the angel's head as it burned through the flash from head to tail as it's a brutal site if anyone can see this fight. Making a hole through the closed jaws to the tail and its core obliterated from existence.

(Music Start - Godzilla's Rage - Composed by Kow Otani - From GMK)

Godzilla was victorious as he killed his attacker and continued what he started from 55 years ago. The day the world had encountered his reign after the death of his father by humanity from 61 years ago.

NERV HQ - (5/30/2015)

NERV HQ, NERV's sprawling primary base of operation that is built underground below Tokyo-3, has been facing peace for a couple of days, and no sighting of any angel. At least in those previous times, they showed up and headed to the city with destructive powers that can say beyond the level of man.

Gendo Ikari, the man with the task and command of running NERV, was questioning about the sudden halt of Angels, for the past few days. Gendo wondered as he sat in his office with NERV finding no major signs of any AT-Fields detected. Pondering about the Angels sudden stopped after the 4th angel, 5th angel, 6th angel, and 7th angel.

Even though NERV staff detected energy readings far from Japan, it's a little matter due to it disappearing or a bug in the system, as now this city is lively with sounds of vehicles or moving trains as city citizens are continuing this bright day.

Beside Gendo, a man around 59 years old named Kozo Fuyutsuki as he is the vice commander of NERV who can take command of the situations on the base whenever Gendo is away. Kozo spoke to Gendo, "Ikari, the technician finds no tech issues with our scanners. No explanation of the missing submarine and the sudden disappearance of a freighter."

"Hmm? There must be a reason for all of this, and it has to be?!" Gendo spoke in his office as well as stared through the window. Suddenly, Gendo's office phone rang as he answered it and Fuyutsuki looked at Gendo.

"This is Ikari," Gendo replied and the look on his face that caught Kozo's eyes, "What do you mean, found something?"

Mount Myoko - 9:30 pm (5/29/2015)

Miles away from Tokyo-3, a delivery truck, holding livestock, was moving along the road as the truck driver was eating his sandwich while unbeknownst to him. The mountain's roads shook while small rocks and dirt fell down.

The driver finished his sandwich as he started to hear the cows inside the trailer like something was bothering them; meanwhile, the cows were moving around and panicking as if detecting something unseen.

"Ahh man, what's wrong with them? Sheez!"

The sounds of banging metal started to tense up, and panicking cries of the cows while afar from the truck, raining rocks rapidly fell upon the road as it varies by size from just rocks to boulders.

"AH! JESUS-!"

The Truck driver stomps his foot on the pedal as screeching sounds from the truck's wheel. The truck stops as it's a meter away from the last falling boulder. With a thud, the driver gazed before his truck's window as the surprise looked at the sudden objects on the road.

"Jesus! What the hell!"

When he was about to do something, the ground shook as the driver was shocked to see something coming out of the rocky debris, and everything quivered by this massive thing. In front of him is a monster with reddish skin, spikes, and large claws as it emerges and shakes off the dirt covering its body. It turned… it turns to the truck that the driver is in as the red monster face is shown. It had large fangs, eyes, and a curved horn as it stared at the truck and roared.

"Grraaauurrgh!"

"AAAAaahhh!" The driver screams and puts up his hands like he's embracing the incoming force as the red kaiju approaches the truck. The kaiju bit down as the truck was dangling whereas the trailer was in its mouth while the driver panicked and clinging on with his life. That red horn kaiju, Baragon, was traveling underground and attacked the truck as he started to eat the cows inside the trailer.

Baragon savagely tosses around the truck as it breaks apart with the driver, who's still alive, enduring the sudden impact as it hits hard, whereas the driver crawls out of his truck. Baragon finished his meal and started to dig down while the wounded driver lay on the road and stared in fear of the monster. With his words, he broke his silence and screamed out of the night. One thing that the driver ever thinks of is this horror, the terror of the past.

"Ga… Go… GOD… GODZILLA!"

Pacific Ocean - 11:09 am (5/26/2015) - 420 miles from Tokyo-3

(Music Start - Godzilla Theme - Composed by Michiru Oshima from GVM, GXMG III-GTSOS)

Eight hundred meters below the Pacific Ocean, a United Nations nuclear submarine moves 420 miles from Tokyo-3 as the U.N. Sub straight through the dark abyss from which the world's water is different. Before that time, the water of the world was always blue; for a while, older generations would recall the time when it represented the life of the world. The Second Impact changed the world from land to sea as it shook many people and the lives of fishermen. Pretty much any species of aquatic life is left roaming through the crimson sea.

The U.N. submarine was 420 miles away from Tokyo-3, while the crew continued their routines as they patrolled the crimson waters as everything was calm for the past few days.

U.N. submarine sonar officers monitor the ocean floor at least a single moment past these few hours. A few days ago, reports of mysterious and odd energy readings had been happening around the areas as this was the reason they're at this location.

"Sir!"

One of the sonar officers called out as the captain walked to the crew personnel while the officer looked at the sonar screen. On the screen, there are seven large blips as the first six weren't moving whereas the other one was moving… moving toward the submarine. It was 180 meters long on the sonar as the Sonar Officer spoke to the Captain.

"Captain, the sonar detects a large object heading at 85 knots (97.8 miles per hour) and it's heading towards us."

"What is it? Is it a Whale!?"

"Negative, Captain."

"Then what is it?"

"Unknown, but it's moving fast for us!"

With a stern look, the Captain reaches for the Sub's radio and speaks, "Come in, Come in. Captain Emma Simmons. Do you read me? You are heading to us! Change course. Over."

There was no reply as Captain Simmons answered the radio again while the large blip continued moving toward the sub. That large blip that comes to the sub within minutes is the feared and dreaded king of the monsters, Godzilla.

"I say again. Change course! You are heading toward us. I say again! Change course!"

"Captain!"

"Come in! COME IN! CHANGE COURSE!"

Within minutes, Godzilla approaches, and he begins to attack the submarine. Inside, everything shook while alarms and wild sparks from electronic devices burst out as every crew member was either electrocuted or not, but it matters little to what would have come for the submarine. Godzilla clawed at the metal hull with large bubbles coming out of the sub as sea water began to flood through by entering the claw marks while the flow of water had taken 40 percent of the submarine submerged.

"Argh!"

"AahH!"

With cries and screams, everyone was helpless at this sudden nightmare as death approached them. Godzilla processed as his dorsal fins began to glow brightly blue. For just a moment, something no one, or even anything at this depth level, can see as Godzilla's glowing dorsal plates start to flash.

(Music Ends- Godzilla Theme - Composed by Michiru Oshima from GVM, GXMG III-GTSOS)

That blue light from his dorsal fins shines on the dark abyssal sea floor as it unveils everything, among the seafloor, a large shark-like creature lay motionless.

Godzilla is feeding off the energy from the submarine while breaking it apart by its might. Like opening a canned food, Godzilla continued on feeding and feeding meanwhile inside one crew member holding a picture of his family as sea water swept in. The crew member closed his eyes and awaited his foreboding death as the room that he was in, filled up whereas the air dissipated by raising seawater.

Tokyo-3 - (5/30/2015)

During the evening, Shinji listened to his music while riding on the train as some sort of means for himself to cope. Deep down, a feeling like he had done this before but the world feels different, changed. But it isn't. Shinji is now living in reality that he's just a kid and helping the world against the Angels and deal with his relation with his father.

There's a man sitting across from him as the man spoke to Shinji, "Excuse me, young man." Shinji looked up and saw the man who's around his 50s, brown hair, and wearing a trench coat as the looks of his appearance like he's not around here. The man asked Shinji, "Are you, Shinji Ikari?"

"Yes? And who are you?"

"I'm Professor John Brown. This is my first time being here and I'm teaching at your school."

This surprised and anxious Shinji as he asked the Professor, "Oh? Uh...um-"

"Oh! I'm sorry, Mr. Ikari. I just heard about you from the news, about these robots called Eva, and a friend of mine who's at NERV. But I mean no harm to you or anything wrong here, Mister. Ikari."

"No worries… it's okay," Shinji responds to Prof. Brown whereas deep within himself, he feels calm, as out of curiosity.

"What do you teach?"

"Well, Mr. Ikari. I teach biology, mathematics, physics, historiography, and ecology. But I say this is something for you, it is strange for a guy like me to learn these types."

"Huh, that's... Why are you here in Tokyo-3?"

"Well, Mr. Ikari, I just happen to own a research foundation, it's called Terra Foundation."

"Terra Foundation?"

"It's a foundation that aims on the study of life and aims for the world. Helping the world means helping the people for a better future."

Shinji is amazed about the Professor's foundation and in his mind, he's self-doubting about talking to this guy. But feels like time with NERV whereas such an idea about helping the world, to what he feels alone in reality. Then, John's expression seemed sad as he spoke, "But things are not… well for the foundation with few people joining and resources. I still have resources that can help people, even the ones I have known in my whole life. Following a path that sets on ourselves, to achieve happiness, peace, and freedom among life. For what my father once told me on the principles that define living in the world. We must understand and share the morality and wisdom, to pass the torch and then, know peace."

Shinji paused by his words as a sense of deja vu, like a small part of him lightened by positive force. When it looks like Shinji starts to have a new friend in his life, till the train stops as John looks to see where his conversation with the first person that he ever met, has ended.

"Oh! Dear! Looks like this is my stop, Mr. Ikari."

"Thank you too, Professor Brown. Hey, most just say my first name."

"Right. Have a good day, Shinji."

Unknownst to two of them, a man with brown hair and gray-blue eyes while wearing a two tone hooded trench coat as the hood covered his head, except his face. From the view of his face, he looks like… Shinji Ikari!? Looking older, around between 24 or 30 in his age, and a small scar on his cheek as he conceals his face while staring at himself, his younger self. Seating at the opposite side of himself as he coldly stares at him then looking away.

Shinji, continuing his hobby, feels something in the train then looks around as there was nothing but himself sitting alone.

Once upon a time, long before the collision of worlds, a man who was once set on the path of adventures to the world's life. The man walks to the path of events to come as monsters rise and play their roles. To find the truth, the man paid the price as the cost of his mind. The greatest challenge as it foretold events to come.

(Prof. Akira Miyashita Journal Entry 6242021)

The story is set as the oncoming storm is coming forth.

Fate is rewritten as the journey of destiny awaits.

But beware! For the destruction of the incarnation god.

Calling of the god as judgment is coming.

The power of will for the avatar of balance will rise from the ashes.

The lying world and the dream of the truth.

For here lies the path to the abyss.

The song of life.

Find the guide and it will lead to the truth.

For years, I learned the fragments of the prophecy that foretold the Catastrophe that is beyond control. The future is undetermined and so set forth the path to healing freedom.

A/N: The story with Yui Ikai in this role is of significant importance to Shinji as much as I know about her story from sources. But the beginning of chapter one acts as an ominous force, a premonition, that represents the overwhelming will as these spirits aren't possessing or using Godzilla as they became a part of him. I'm kinda unsure what to do with Evangelion's character because I think of some changes to them that set apart the originals (Anime and Movie) and how to deal with the number of Angels. The angels for most part are impossible for me to comprehend to what order of them as I figure that this twist of the story is that these angels aren't just following through both tv and movie, rather randomly appearing (Note: I'm looking at the Evangelions angels sources and finding many kinds. So I'll likely add the other angels as part of the story.) through the stories.

Please let me know if I dispelled or rewrote the chapter and I will be very grateful to you.

Wondering about the music in this story because I read other Godzilla's fanfic stories and they sometimes used music and I thought it would sound like a good addition to this story. I hope these songs get the expression about each part and the meaning of the scenes here.

Hope you find any references to both series.

OC: John S. Brown and Akira Miyashita are characters who's made up and not related to both series. How the character Akira "Bright" Miyashita "(One who lives) below the shrine" acts, is an ominous and mysterious figure who left his tracks. What to describe about him is shown in this chapter, tells how he's cryptic and somewhat insane to say. The next chapter would or would not show his bio because I felt it brings the characters to this story and what role they played. Akira is a character I created and one of the few my own characters in this story.
