"So...what's your name?" Sandstorm asked the female Night Fury, leading them through a path that will take them to the village. And being escorted by Changewings that were close by. Since their riders are taken away, for who knows what, the dragons were being taken to the village. They were feeling a DeJa'Vu considering that back on Defenders of the Wing Island put them in their village and treated them with respect and their riders were put to the test. They just hope they can ace this test.
The female Night Fury glanced at him while carrying the piglet on her back, scared of the giant dragons before him, but responded to Sandstorm since she asked politely. "My name is Aliikai."
"That's a unique name." Sandstorm said to her kindly. "My name is Sandstorm, and these are my friends. Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang, Barf & Belch, and Toothless." Suddenly, Chicken clucks at Sandstorm. "Oh, and Chicken."
"Hello." Both Stormfly and Meatlug greeted her kindly.
"How's it going?" Hookfang greeted his own way.
"Nice to meet ya!" Barf and Belch greeted Aliikai.
"Hi." Windshear greeted her as well with a smile.
"..." Toothless didn't respond as he was busy staring at Aliikai with a curious look.
Aliikai raises a scaly brow at him, wondering what's wrong with it. "Not much of a talker, is he?" She questions Sandstorm, referring to Toothless.
Sandstorm looks over to Toothless, who was busy staring at Aliikai, and realizes that he was too distracted to even respond. She quickly nudged Toothless, snapping out from his trance as he looked at Sandstorm in confusion. "Huh? What?"
"Say hi to Aliikai, Toothless." Sandstorm said to him with a sly smile, glancing over to Aliikai, who was looking at him.
Realizing what she meant, Toothless stammered at his words. "Oh! Uh...Hi! I'm Toothless."
"I know, your friend Sandstorm told me." Aliikai said to him gently, making Toothless blush in embarrassment, thanking Draco for the scales to hide his blush.
Hookfang, Barf, and Belch snickered at Toothless, finding it amusing to see him embarrassed. The male Night Fury glares at them in annoyance, not amusing to see them tease him like that. Aliikai couldn't help but smile and let out a chuckle, getting everyone's attention.
"Well, it's nice to meet you too, Toothless." Aliikai said kindly, causing Toothless's heart to flutter up. "Now, don't stay off the path, we're almost there."
"Where exactly?" Stormfly asked her curiously.
Aliikai leads them out from the jungle and smiles straight ahead. "Here."
The dragons came out from the jungle and gawked at the sight before them. Right in front of them is a huge village with humans and dragons coexisting. They saw female humans carrying baskets filled with coconuts while some Gronckles followed them with baskets strapped on their sides. They saw farmers were plowing the field with the help of Deadly Nadders. Zipplebacks were helping coconut gatherers to reach the highest trees to collect the coconuts. And there were even Tidal Class Dragons, lounging on the beach or helping fishermen catch fishes. The riders' dragons stared at the scene before them. Never in their lives they saw another village being at peace with dragons before. They snapped out of it when Aliikai got their attention.
"Come with me, I'll get you all something to eat." Aliikai said to them, guiding them to the feeding area, where multiple dragons came to feast on the delicious fish. They reached the center and saw a huge food bowl with many fish on it. There, they saw multiple dragons eating them. Shocker the Shockjaw was munching on some tuna, enjoying his meal, before he spotted Aliikai coming over with seven new dragons. Swallowing his food, Shocker made his way over to Aliikai and greeted her.
"Hey, Ali! Been wondering where you were." Shocker greeted his friend.
"Sorry for the sudden disappearance, I went out patrolling when I heard Pua calling for help." Aliikai said, gesturing her head towards the piglet, oinking about.
Shocker nodded in understanding before noticing the riders' dragons as he recognized them when he and Gil spotted them earlier. "Hey, you're the dragons that came with the Vikings."
Toothless and the others were surprised by this. "You saw us?" Toothless asked in surprise.
Shocker nodded his head. "Yeah, me and my rider were swimming by and spotted you folks coming to Motunui."
"Motunui?" Windshear asked curiously.
"It is the name of the island." Aliikai explained to the Razorwhip.
"Oh..." Windshear said in understanding.
"By the way, where's Tsunami?" Aliikai asked Shocker.
"He went off to the beach to catch some waves." Shocker answered to her.
Toothless was confused on what he meant. "Catching some waves?" He questions the female Night Fury. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means he's surfing through the giant waves." Aliikai explains to Toothless. "He's always the playful one in the group along with Makaio, tends to get into trouble from time to time."
"So true."
Hearing a new voice, they turned around and gasped to see a Night Fury-like dragon. His appearance is like Night Fury but more aqua like. They all blinked at the new dragon, who was giving a friendly grin, as if he finds their reaction amusing. Aliikai rolls her eyes at Tsunami, she knows very well that her cousin enjoys teasing people and dragons.
"Everyone, this Tsunami, an Ocean Fury." Aliikai introduces the riders' dragons to Tsunami.
"Ocean Fury?" Toothless asked her curiously.
"What's an Ocean Fury?" Sandstorm asked curiously.
"Basically, a sub-species to a Night Fury. An Ocean Fury may look like a Night Fury, but an Ocean Fury can breathe underwater, shoot an electrical plasma blast that can stun their opponents down, and have the ability to camouflage within water." Aliikai explains to the group of dragons, which surprised them even more.
"Pretty cool, right?" Tsunami said with a grin.
"Uh, yeah! Is not every day we see another species like Toothless." Barf said with a grin while Chicken let out a cluck.
"By the way, what's with the chicken?" Shocker asked them.
"Oh, she's our rider's pet, so please don't eat her." Belch said, referring to Chicken.
"Noted." Shocker and Tsunami both said in agreement.
"Before I forget, what are your names." Tsunami said to them.
"Oh, right. Shocker, Tsunami, this Sandstorm, Stormfly, Meatlug, Hookfang, Barf & Belch, Toothless, and well...Chicken." Aliikai introduced, earning a cluck from Chicken. The riders' dragons greeted them as they returned. The two Tidal Class dragons offered them fishes in the food bowl while Aliikai went off to get Pua and Chicken their own food.
"Woah, our humans are missing out!" Hookfang said with a grin, taking another fish from the bowl.
"Speaking of which..." Toothless looked over to Aliikai, who brought fruits and grain for Pua and Chicken, which they ate, and asked her. "Where's our riders?"
"Do not worry. They're being held at the Keahi Clan, my sister will deal with them as we speak." Aliikai explains to them.
"You're sister?" Toothless asked in surprise as he looked at Aliikai. "You have a sister?"
Aliikai nodded her head. "Indeed, she's probably there with the others to speak with your riders as we speak."
"You sure?" Toothless asked hesitantly.
"Of course, she is!" Coral's voice came from the background.
The riders' dragons were surprised to see two sea people. They heard stories about the sea people from old dragons, but they couldn't believe they were real. Coral and Gil stood there with Sheldon and Inka. The two-amphibian people were greeted by Shocker and Tsunami, who were happy to see their riders.
"Hey, Tsunami! How are you?" Coral asked her Ocean Fury, hugging his head gently.
"Doing good, Coral." Tsunami replied before looking over to the riders' dragons. "Also, say hello to our guests."
Coral looks at new dragons and lets out a dramatic gasp before zooming over to them, admiring, and fawning over them like a craze fangirl, especially towards Toothless. "Oh, my scales! You must be the new dragons that came to the island with your Viking riders! And fishpaste! There's another Night Fury! Isn't that awesome, Ali?"
Aliikai smiles at her. "It is, Coral. By the way, do you know when their riders will come?"
"Oh! Makala told us that Keoni and her sisters are escorting the chief." Coral said cheerfully.
"Wait! Do you understand her? Us?" Hookfang asked in surprise.
Coral giggles at him. "Of course, silly! We sea-people have the ability to talk with all sea life and dragons as well." She explains to the new dragons.
"And not just us, there are other magical beings that can talk to dragons. Heck, a human friend of ours can speak to dragons." Gil said to them. "By the way, I'm Gil and this is my friend Coral. And our pets Sheldon and Inka."
"Hi!" Coral greeted them with a wave.
"Hey..." Toothless greeted the others. "So...how long will it take for our riders to be free?"
"Not long, judging by the fact that someone has vouched for them." Gil explains to Toothless. "And they'll be free in no time."
"Paradise?" Hiccup asked Tara in confusion.
Tara nodded her head at him and the group. "Yup, paradise, a safe haven for all dragons, and where all dragons used to live in peace with humans in this region." She explained to the shock riders before adding.
"Wait, region?" Astrid suddenly asked in surprise. "Are you saying that we're in another region?"
"Yup, this region is a lot warmer than the Norse. Dragons find it great here because it doesn't snow." Tara explained to them casually. "Making it a perfect place for them to live in."
"Wow! Such a great discovery." Fishlegs said in awe, wanting to write this down, but their things were confiscated.
"Yeah, but how did Lani's necklace bring us here?" Heather asked them curiously.
That's when Keoni steps in after he and the others agreed to tell them the full story. "Let's just say, his necklace was blessed by the gods." He said to the group, earning surprise looks from them, before taking something out from his pouch. "By the way, I believe this belongs to you."
With that, Keoni handed the necklace back to Lani, surprising him with the process. Lani takes back his necklace and looks at it with wonder. Thinking how the gods blessed it and allowed them to travel to this region. He then looks over to Keoni, still cannot see his face due to his mask. "Thanks..."
Keoni nodded his head. "You are welcome."
"Anyways...can we see our dragons?" Hiccup asked Moana. "They're probably worried about us."
"Don't worry, our friends are watching over them." Moana said before letting out a sharp whistle.
With that, eight Changewings appeared from thin air, surprising the riders in the process. Moana bows to the Changewings respectfully, which Changewings returns. Hiccup, Lani, and Fishlegs were astonished at how the Changewings show respect towards Moana, believing that they can be trained. After Moana finishes bowing, she gestures to the riders towards the Changewings.
"They will give you all a ride to the village." Moana said to them.
"Are you sure?" Heather asked in concern. "We don't want your people to feel uneasy."
"Do not threaten." Malie assured me with a kind smile. "We told them all that you mean no harm and that you wish to help the dragons."
"Huh, your people seem ready for anything." Astrid compliments Moana.
"Thanks, we care for each other as family." Moana answers before Keoni gets on Makaio and helps her get on. "Come on, it will be a lot faster if you ride the dragons."
Keilani and Lanuola got on their dragons with Tara and Malie, but before they could go. They notice that the Dragon Riders were hesitant to get on Changewings. The last time they encountered them, they tried to spit acid on their face, and also the Changewings were giving the riders dirty looks. Indicating that they don't trust them at all. The Mystery Class Dragons still won't forget how they stole their eggs and went to their island uninvited, twice! That is why they don't appreciate Vikings, only people of Motunui. Seeing their distrust towards the riders, Moana decided to help them get on.
"Hey, be nice." Moana said to the Changewings, who glanced at her. "They're our guests, let them ride on you for just this one time, please?"
The Changewings, of course, were against this. They won't allow any Vikings to ride on them after some incidents. The only ones who rode them were Moana and her people, for they are kind, friendly, and above all, more polite. But since they have great respect towards Moana, they reluctantly agree to allow the riders to ride them, just this one time!
The riders watched in astonishment as the Changewings lowered themselves, offering the dragon riders to get on. They were hesitant at first, but soon the dragon riders got on the Changewings carefully. Well, except for Snotlout, he was still paralyzed and couldn't move. The guards tied him on to the not so happy Changewing's back, fastening him so he wouldn't fall off. Moana smiles at the Changewings being cooperative.
"All right, hang on tight!" Moana announced before all the dragons took off to the sky, with Snotlout screaming due to being tied up sideways.
The riders were in awe as they rode the Changewings. It was their first time to even get on them since they always chase them away. But now they allow the riders to get on them, so they could see the beautiful jungle of Motunui. They flew above the homes of the Keahi clan, where the riders saw the people there training on weaponry, combat, and dragon riding. Astrid and Heather were fascinated by their skills and wondering what this form of combat is called.
"Hey, what are they doing there?" Astrid asked loudly, looking down at the training field to see Keahi trainees were sparing one another.
Keilani was the one who answered that. "They're doing Kapu Kuʻialua."
Heather looks at her in confusion. "Kapu-what?"
"Kapu Kuʻialua or Lua for short is an ancient fighting skill of the Keahi Clan." Keoni explains the fighting skill. "It is based on bone breaking, joint locks, throws, pressure point manipulation, strikes, usage of various weapons, battlefield strategy, and open ocean warfare."
"Wow, that's some fighting skill." Hiccup complimented.
"Wait until you see it in battle." Lanuola said with a chuckle.
"By any chance you can teach us that?" Astrid asked Keoni.
"In due time, but first, let us take you to your dragons." Keoni said before guiding Makaio to the village of Motunui.
As they headed to the village, Lani couldn't help but admire the beauty of the island. The Island of Motunui reminds him of the stories his father told him about his home that was from a distant land, filled with beauty and life. And seeing this, made it feel so real. The others were also astonished by the island's beauty. They have never seen such greenery in their lives before. It was a lot warmer here too and it looks like it hasn't snowed here for a really long time. And when they got to the village, they saw dragons and humans coexisting with one another, helping each other in their daily lives and playing with the little ones. They were all fascinated by this, especially Lani. Seeing the appearances of the people of Motunui, Lani could've sworn he had seen them in his dream. He couldn't help it but feel some familiarity from his father's stories about his home. Lani then snapped out when the Changewings and the other dragons landed at the village square, where they were greeted by the villagers and dragons, although some were giving the riders strange looks, it's not often they have Vikings here. The riders got off the Changewings, who were happy that they were off them. Tara came over to the Changewing that has Snotlout tied on its back as she took out a dagger and cuts the rope, setting Snotlout free but in the process was flung off the dragon's back because the Changewing didn't like him, and he was the one responsible for stealing their eggs. Snotlout groans in pain as his face makes contact on the ground.
"Why does this keep happening to me?" Snotlout mutters out.
"Probably they still remember that you stole their eggs all those years ago." Astrid reminded him while the Changewings walked away to get something to eat.
"Hey! Their eggs were already returned! Why can't they get over it?!" Snotlout exclaims in annoyance.
"They won't forget the faces of those who trespass their territory." Tara said towards Snotlout. "Plus, they can hold a grudge."
"No wonder they don't like us so much." Lani mutters out, watching the Changewings leave. "But how were you all able to tame them?"
"Easy. We dance with them." Moana answered with a smile as Keoni helped her down.
"Dance?" Fishlegs asked curiously.
"You see, Changewings are known to be curious dragons, they tend to copy anything new. For instance, when we started dancing, they joined in. We became friends soon after we partied with them." Moana explains with a smile.
"Woah! That's amazing!" Fishlegs said in excitement, finding out new information on how to tame Changewings.
"So that's how you tame a Changewing? Doing something that interests them?" Heather asked the local.
Tara shrugs her shoulders with her arms crossed. "Pretty much, unless you're interesting like Moana and her people." She said to them before looking at Hiccup and Lani. "By the way, why do you and Louis look so alike? I don't recall you having a twin brother."
Both Hiccup and Lani looked at each other with wide eyes, realizing what Tara meant by being identical since they look alike. "Oh, Lani isn't my twin brother." Hiccup said to Tara.
"Although it is a bit strange why we look so alike." Lani said as he and Hiccup looked at each other briefly before the blonde looked back at Tara. "And my name is Lani."
"Larry, Louis, who cares. Let's go to your dragons." Tara said as she walked away, leaving a dumbfounded Lani.
"You know, for some reason, she doesn't like me." Lani said to Malie.
"She's just protective to us, that's all." Malie said to him before giving Lani an assuring smile. "But she'll warm up to you eventually."
"I'm not sure if she will." Lani mutters out.
"Hey, you guys coming or what?" Tara called out to them.
"You heard her." Keoni said, still wearing the mask, as he gestures to his dragon to pick up Snotlout from the back of his tunic, which he did. And then shows the riders the path to the feeding station. "This will take us to the feeding station."
"Feeding station?" Hiccup asked curiously, reminding about the feeding station back on Berk.
They followed the group to a big bowl to see numerous dragons getting food. They were so amazed by how the dragon gathered together in this place and the villagers didn't seem to be bothered by them. Instead, they enjoy their company. They even saw a group of elderly men were sitting by and accompanied with sleeping dragons. Their mind has officially blown at the sight before them. Soon, they snapped out of it when they saw their dragons at the feeding station, eating some fish and fruits
"Our dragons!" Heather said in relief.
They, minus Snotlout, went over to their dragons, who spotted tehri riders and were relieved to see them and quickly went to them. Hiccup hugged his dragon's head gently as the Night Fury purred in relief. Fishlegs gave his dragon a big bear hug, relief that Meatlug didn't get hurt. Heather and Astrid patted their dragons, who crooned at them happily. Ruff and Tuff headbutted with Barf and Belch, happy to see their destructive companions. Sandstorm nuzzles her rider in pure relief, knowing that nothing bad happened to him. And Hookfang...well, let's just say he didn't greet his rider as the Stoker Class just watched as Makaio the Tide Glider drops Snotlout on the ground, who yelps and groans in pain, as his face made contact on the ground, and Hookfang didn't bother to help him up. The only thing Hookfang did was snorting out steam from his nostrils.
"Hookfang!" Snotlout mutters out in annoyance.
Tara laughs at this. "Wow, he sure knows how to respect you." She said sarcastically towards Snotlout.
Snotlout groans in annoyance until Tuffnut realizes something. "Wait! Where's Chicken?! Don't tell me your people ate her?!" He asked in a panic.
"You mean that chicken over there?" Moana points towards the direction. They followed her gaze and saw Chicken was eating some grain nearby with Pua eating fruits on a bowl and Heihei the braindead rooster. He is not eating the grain or fruits with Pua and Chicken. Heihei was pecking a rock for no reason.
"What's wrong with that rooster?" Fishlegs asked about Heihei as the rooster continues kept pecking the rock, and soon he gets disturbed when Heihei suddenly picks up the rock and swallows it but it was stuck on his throat, causing the rooster to choke it out and in a few seconds, Heihei pecks the rock again.
Moana and her friends gave a simple look at Heihei before the chief of Motunui simply shrugs her shoulders. "Heihei is always like that, so don't mind him." She assures them.
"Right..." Lani said with unsureness as he looked at Heihei before spotting Aliikai coming over to them and then gasping in shock. "It's the female Night Fury!"
The Riders were astonished to see Aliikai again. The female Night Fury didn't pay mind to them as she made her way to Moana and nuzzled her happily. Moana smiles and hugs Aliikai gently, nuzzling each other's faces.
"Hey, sis, how are you doing?" Moana asked her gently.
"Doing well, the guests' dragons didn't cause any problems to the people." Aliikai assures with a purr.
"That's good to hear, Ali." Moana said with a smile.
"Wait a second." Lani cuts Moana off. "Did you just call your Night Fury...sis? As in, sister?"
Both Moana and Aliikai smiled at each other and then to Lani. "Yup, Aliikai and I grew up together with my parents." Moana explains, hugging her dragon sister.
The group stared at them in fascination while Toothless was shocked to realize that Moana is Aliikai's sister, a human sister and not a Night Fury sister. The others held their amusement as the riders were processing what they just heard.
"Yeah, shocking, isn't it?" Moana said with a smile as she looked at her sister. "Aliikai and I have been together ever since we were little."
"Do you understand her?" Hiccup asked her curiously.
"Yeah, me and some of my friends can talk to dragons. It's part of our thing since we rescue dragons." She said proudly, patting her dragon's side.
"You rescue dragons?" Fishlegs asked curiously.
"Oh yeah." Tara answered with a shrug. "We rescue them and bring them here in the safe region, where no intruders can trespass until recently." She looks at the Dragon Riders.
Fishlegs gasped in amazement. "Can you and your friends understand dragons?"
Moana nodded. "Yup, me, Malie, Coral, Gil, Nasir, Yasmina, and Tara can understand dragons." She listed out.
Hiccup's eyes widen as he looks over to Tara. "Wait, you do?" He asked in shock.
Tara simply shrugs her shoulders. "Pretty much, it can be useful when I was surviving by myself for two years."
This caught the dragon riders' attention as they looked at her in concern and confusion. What did she mean by surviving for two years? What happened to her and her mother? So many thoughts came to their mind that they failed to notice Coral and Gil were behind them.
"What'cha Doin'?" Coral asked the riders from behind.
Hiccup was the one to respond without turning around. "Oh, we're just talking about how Chief Moana and her friend could-By Odin's Ghost?!" Hiccup suddenly exclaims when he sees Coral and Gil along with the others, who scream in shock.
"AAAAHHHH! Fish People! They're real!" Snotlout screams from the ground. "Hookfang, attack!"
Luckily, the Monstrous Nightmare didn't obey his master. Instead, he was busy looking at Heihei pecking on the rock. Not bothering to listen to Snotlout's orders and because he doesn't want to hurt Coral and Gil, they're nice sea people. But Moana gave Snotlout an angry look.
"Hey! Don't you dare hurt them or you'll be taken back to the holding cell." Moana threatened, scaring Snotlout in the process.
"Woah! Woah! Easy there!" Hiccup stops Moana, who glares at Snotlout. "We promise not to cause trouble on your island or people."
The Thorston Twins looked at him in confusion. "We did? Since when?" Tuffnut asked.
"Since they were gracious enough to let us go." Hiccup reminded him and his sister with a serious look before turning back to Moana. "But still, how are they here?"
"Yeah, we were always told that fish people were just a myth." Fishlegs said to them.
That's when Keoni, still wearing his mask, steps in. "That's because they hid away from your kind." This causes the riders to look at him in confusion. "Long ago, Vikings were friends with sea people and mermaids."
"Hold up, mermaids are real?" Snotlout asked in shock.
"Yes, they are real, just like Coral and Gil's kind." Keoni gestures to the two-amphibian people with his head, earning a wave from a cheerful Coral, as he continues his explanation. "Your kind and their kind were once allies, but the Vikings betrayed them by selling the mermaids off to tyrants." This information shocked the group, especially Hiccup. He didn't know their ancestors were that cruel.
"The Vikings did that?" Lani asked in shock. He knew there were bad Vikings, but this was barbaric.
Gil nodded his head, continuing Keoni's explanation. "It's true, and because of this, the merfolks and the sea people started the great war that nearly flooded the whole world."
"Say what now?" Tuffnut asked in confusion.
"The entire archipelago would've been underwater if it wasn't for the gods." Tara added in a serious tone. "They knew that the war must end and made sure that all merfolks and all magical beings must be hidden away from humanity."
"If they were hidden away from humanity, why only Moana's people are allowed to see them?" Heather asked, looking at Coral and Gil.
Coral giggles and hugs Moana happily. "That's because Moana's ancestor, the Great Matai Vasa, has befriended the merfolks long ago when they came to their region. Matai Vasa and King Destan, the first king of Aquatica, became best friends and promised to visit their home island of Motunui for an annual alignment meeting. Until the darkness came and blocked the passageway between their region and ours as well ending our bond between humans and magic. Then Moana and her friends soon stopped the darkness by defeating a giant, lava demon of death known as Te Kā, who's actually the goddess of island and furthermore-" Coral was cut off by Tara when the Lycanwing girl covered the amphibian girl's mouth.
"They get it, Coral. Moana's people were the only friends of the merfolks, they stopped the great darkness, uniting them all together." Tara said in a blank tone as she withdrew her hand from Coral's mouth. "Anyways, since you guys wanted to know more about this place, we'll show you around the island. But first, let's introduce you guys to our other friends."
"Other friends?" Lani asked curiously.
"Eeyup, follow us and don't bother the locals, ever." Tara warned them in annoyance.
Moana gestures her head to the beach. "Come on, they're probably training at the beach." She said to dragon riders.
Obeying her words, they followed Moana and her friends to the beach while Hookfang carried his rider by the back of his tunic and Tuff carried Chicken. Aliikai carries Pua on her back, keeping him safe from the two blonde twins. Keoni's sisters left to train new recruits, promising to meet them back at the village later. As the dragon riders follow the Freedom Bringers, they would be greeted by the people of Motunui. They watched as the children would run up to them and would greet them and their dragons. The riders and their dragons find the local children adorable. The children of Motunui laughed loudly when Hookfang shook Snotlout around like a ragdoll, making him scream in the process. They soon reached the beach that was far from the village and saw two males sparring at one another, one with a giant hook and the other was using a bo staff. They each delivered heavy blows but were blocked by their weapons. The riders were awed at their skills. Well, except for Ruff, she was drooling over the male with the bo staff.
"Who are they?" Astrid asked in amazement to see their fighting skills.
"Yeah! Especially the one with the staff!" Ruff added with an excited grin.
Moana points at Nasir. "That's Nasir, he's one of our friends that can talk to dragons and is a skilled warrior. And the one sparing with him is Maui the shapeshifter, demigod of the wind and sea, hero to all."
"Demigod?" They all asked in shock and surprised.
Coral giggles and leans in. "Yup! Maui is the Demigod of this region and he's over a thousand years old! Older than any of us." She said cheerfully.
Hearing this, Maui turns to Coral's direction and interjects her. "Hey! I'm not old!"
Due to him being distracted, this gave Nasir the opportunity to disarm Maui's hook off his hands before using his bo staff to knock Maui off his feet, who lets out a yelp in surprise, followed by a groan. Nasir spins his staff around before holding it on his side as he looks at Maui with a serious expression.
"I win, again." Nasir said to Maui, who brought his head up and gave him an annoyed look.
"Hey! I would've won if someone didn't call me old!" Maui states out towards Coral, who apologizes from the background, before the Demigod gets up on his feet before noticing the riders and their dragons. "Woah, didn't expect them to be out already."
"Maui, we talked about this, since Malie is vouching for them, they're allowed to be free." Moana reminded him.
"Riiight...so, you're showing them around?" Maui asked the Freedom Bringers.
"Pretty much, we're just making introductions." Keoni said before looking at the Dragon Riders. "Everyone, this is Nasir and Maui. Nasir and Maui, these are the dragon riders Hiccup, Astrid, Lani, Heather, Fishlegs, Ruffnut & Tuffnut, and Snotlout."
The Dragon Riders greeted them while Ruff was busy flirting with Nasir, who ignored her completely. Lani looks over to Maui with curiosity. "They say you are a Demigod, right?" He asked Maui.
Maui responded with a nod. "Yes I am."
"If so, then who was your godly parent?" Lani asked him curiously.
Maui stops and looks at him, unsure what to answer that question. Moana saw this and knew very well that it was personal for Maui as she decided to help him. "Maui doesn't want to talk about it. It's...personal." She said to the Dragon Riders.
Realizing what she meant, Lani gave an apologetic look to Maui. "Oh, I didn't mean to-"
Maui raises a hand to cut him off. "It's okay, it's been a while since anyone knew the truth about me." Maui confesses as he makes a sad smile. "In truth, I wasn't born a demigod."
"You weren't?" Tuffnut asked in confusion. "But I thought you're a demigod."
"I am, but I wasn't always well...Maui at first. Centuries ago, I was born with human parents and on the day of birth, they took one look at me and...well, they didn't want me. So, they aaa...threw me into the sea like I was nothing." Maui explained sadly.
"WHAT?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock.
"Your parents threw you out to sea as a baby and left for dead?!" Astrid exclaimed in shock.
"What kind of monsters would do that?" Heather asked in shock and horror.
"Well, my parents did. But fortunately for me, the ocean saved me and brought me to the gods. They raised me as their own and named me Maui. They even granted me powers." Maui explains with a smile.
"They did?! What kind?" Tuffnut asked excitingly, wanting to know his power.
"Well, there's immortality, eternal youth, and of course, my giant, magical fishhook that allows me to shape-shift." Maui listed out his power with a smile as he picked up his hook.
"Woah..." Everyone was awed by this.
Then Tuffnut came over to look at his tattoos. "Cool! Who made your tattoos?" He asked curiously.
"Actually, they magically appear when I accomplish a task. Like this one." Maui shows them the tattoo of him pulling up an island out from the sea. "This is where I pulled islands from the sea for humans to live on. This one, I killed an eel and buried its guts that sprouted coconut trees."
"Ew!" Everyone, except for the twins, exclaims in disgust.
"Awesome!" The Thorstone twins exclaimed in amazement.
"So, like, you've been drinking eel guts!?" Tuff asked stupidly with excitement.
The Freedom Bringers looked at him in disgust along with the dragons. "Okay, ew, no." Maui corrected him. "The coconuts just taste like...well, coconuts. Don't ask why, but it has something to do with magic."
Deciding to change the subject, Lani asked about the tattoo where Maui was holding a fire. "What about the tattoo? It shows you taking a fire?"
"That? Well, when I noticed that the nights got too cold for the people, I went down to the underworld and stole fire for them. And this is when I lassoed the sun to stretch the days."
"You lasso the sun with your hook?" Snotlout asked mockingly. "There is no way you did all those things."
Maui gave him a smug look. "Oh really? Watch this! Cheehoo!"
With a battle cry, Maui uses his hook to transform into multiple animals, shocking the riders, as they saw Maui turned into a fish, a bug, a shark, and then giant hawk, letting out a loud shriek to scare them, before turning back to his human form with a grin on his face.
"Proof enough for ya?" Maui asked with a grin.
"...Okay, I believe you." Snotlout said in shock.
"See what I did there, little buddy?" Maui said to Mini-Maui, who made an okay sign.
The riders and tehri dragons were shocked to see the tattoo moving. "Woah! Did that tattoo just move?" Lani asked in shock.
"Yup, he's my partner and contention. Ain't that right?" Maui asked Mini-Maui, both doing a fist bump.
Keoni rolled his eyes at Maui as he smiled under his mask. "Show off."
Maui grins at Keoni in amusement before realizing something. "By the way, you're still wearing your mask. You know you can take it off." He said to Keoni.
Keoni shrugged his shoulders. "I don't want them to feel uncomfortable."
"Aw, come on, it's not that bad." Maui said to him. "Besides, the scar isn't recognizable."
"Scar? You have a scar? Can I see it? I wanna see!" Tuffnut exclaims as he comes in front of Keoni's face.
"Tuffnut! Don't be rude." Astrid scolds the male Thorston, who ignores her.
Keoni shrugs before removing his mask, revealing his masculine face and the scar running down through his right eye. Ruff's mouth dropped in admiration. Keonis is a handsome looking fellow along with Nasir and Gil, even if he is an amphibian man, he's still good looking. Snotlout made a look that shows his jealousy. Not only that he's paralyzed, but he can't show off that he's more handsome than all the three males here.
"How did you get that scar?" Hiccup asked in surprise and shock.
Keoni touched the scar on his face. "I got it from the attack from Te Kā when we were trying to return the heart of Te Fiti."
"Te who? And the what?" Ruff asked in confusion.
"Right, you all don't know the legend of Te Fiti." Moana said with a smile.
"Legend? What legend?" Hiccup asked curiously.
Moana and her friends began to tell the tale of Te Fiti, the goddess of life and creation. She created all the islands in their region. She made the islands for both humans and dragons. All thanks to her magical heart. They even added that the reason why there are dragons here is because of Lord Draco, the Dragon God. The two divine entities get along very well as they work together to create harmony with humans and dragons. Things would've lasted for centuries until Maui stole the Heart of Te Fiti. The riders wonder why would Maui steal the heart? They explained to them that Maui stole it as a gift for the mortals, Maui believed it would make the perfect gift for them, so they could love him to replace the emptiness of his parents abandoning him. But because of him stealing the heart, Te Fiti transforms into Te Kā, a demon of earth and fire. With Te Kā in her place, the islands that Te Fiti created are slowly consumed by a life-killing darkness and blocking the gateway between the merfolk and Moana's people. Maui fought Te Kā and their clash caused a huge explosion that sent Maui flying and separated from his hook, and the heart. Luckily, the Ocean found the heart and kept it safe until thousands of years later, the Ocean gave it to Moana, who set on a journey to find Maui and restore Te Fiti. Their journey was harsh and dangerous. They face many challenges in finding Maui and Te Fiti. They survived murderous little pirates called Kakamora, Vahloks, monsters, meeting Malie and Makaio the Tide Glider, learning how to do wayfinding, and then faced Te Kā. At first, facing the demonic being was proven difficult and caused disagreement with each other, mostly on Maui. But they all prevail as they work together with the help of Vahloks to stop Te Kā and restore the heart back, returning all life on the islands and uniting forgotten friendship.
"Woah, that's incredible." Hiccup said, looking at Moana and her crew.
Moana smiles and hugs her sister. "Yeah, it was intense, but thanks to our teamwork, we were able to prevail." She said to them.
"It's amazing that you guys were able to sail the vast ocean." Lani said before looking at Malie. "And I didn't know you were a mermaid the whole time."
Malie smiles at him sheepishly. "Truth be told, it is before we could trust you guys."
"I'm curious though, in your tale, you guys mention a Vahlok. What is that?" Astrid asked them curiously.
"Oh, Vahlok is a dragon in this region." Malie said to Astrid.
"Really?" Heather asked.
"Yes, Vahloks in dragon tongue are called Protectors. They protected these lands for thousands of years as they were created by Lord Draco. They were the ones that were supposed to capture Maui for stealing the heart. But with some understanding and provision, they let Maui go and helped us bring dragons back here." Malie explains to them.
"I didn't know dragons have their own language." Hiccup said in fascination.
"They do, and only a few selected humans can speak it. So far, I can only speak a little of it." Moana said sheepishly.
"That's amazing. Who's been teaching you?" Hiccup asked Moana.
"Well, Nasir and his sister, Yasmina, have been teaching me how to speak it. And occasionally with Cayden." Moana explains to them.
"Who's Cayden?" Lani asked Moana curiously.
Suddenly, they heard something land behind them with a low growl, sending shivers to the riders and their dragons' spines as they recognized the growl. They slowly turned around and gasped in shock and horror to see the dragon that took them down three years ago. Standing tall and terrifying was none other than the Sky Destroyer. The big dragon glared at them dangerously while the riders and their dragons stared at him terrifyingly. Heather and Lani were scared, considering from what they heard from their friends that this dragon was dangerous enough to destroy them. Snotlout lets out a scream of terror at the sight of Sky Destroyer before yelping in pain when Hookfang dropped him after the Monstrous Nightmare opened his jaw in pure shock.
"A Sky Destroyer! Run for your lives!" Tuffnut screams in fear as he starts running around everyone. The Freedom Bringers and their dragons just watched Tuffnut run around them in confusion. Wondering what was wrong with him. Annoyed by this, Tara puts out her foot and trips him in the process, facedown on the dirt. "OW!"
"Calm down, he's not gonna kill you...probably." Tara said to Tuffnut.
"What are you guys so calm!? It's a Sky Destroyer! It will kill us all!" Snotlout screamed from the ground.
"To you guys, but Cayden won't hurt us." Tara said with a smirk, getting the riders' and dragons' attention.
"What?" Everyone asked in confusion.
Malie smiles sheepishly and goes over to Cayden, who continues to glare at the riders. "Everyone, this is Cayden, our and...well...my dragon." She answers with an embarrassed smile.
There was a dead silence from the dragons riders and their dragons, staring at her with wide and disbelieving eyes, like their minds have been officially blown.

...
"...WHAT?!" They all exclaimed in shock.
"Your dragon?!" Lani asked in shock, pointing at Cayden.
Malie nodded her head. "Yup, Cayden became my dragon after we restored the heart."
"So that's why he attacked us, he thinks we were going to hurt Malie since she's a mermaid." Astrid said in realization.
"Yes, and I'm so sorry if he scared you guys." Malie said in an apologetic tone.
"It's actually our fault." Hiccup said to them. "We kind of disturbed his sleep."
"It's not our fault. The one to blame is Snotlout." Tuff pointed out to the group stupidly. "I mean, he thought that it was Hookfang, but wasn't, and then accidentally waking him and then we fought him and-"
"Shut up, Tuffnut!" Snotlout ordered from the ground, glaring at him in anger.
"Wow, dumb move, Snot." Tara said sarcastically.
"Indeed, it was." Yasmina's voice came.
They all follow the direction to the source and soon Tuff, Snotlout, and Fishlegs mouths dropped at the sight of Yasmina, riding on Solaria, while the riders' male dragons, hence Toothless, gawked over the Goldenheart. With them were Pōkole the Kakamora and Mistral the Wisp Dragon. Solaria lowered herself and allowed Yasmina to get off with Pōkole and Mistral.
"Hey, Yas, where ya been?" Tara asked her simply.
"Telling the dragons about our guests, so they won't harm them." Yasmina said to her before looking at the dragon riders. "And you must be the dragon riders of Berk, correct?"
Hiccup snaps out of it and nods. "Y-Yeah, my name is-"
"Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, the leader of the dragon riders. Your second in command is Astrid Hofferson, from House Hofferson, a strong and brave clan. The members of the dragon riders are Fishlegs Ingerman, Snotlout Jorgenson, Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston, Heather, and Lani Flokidottir." Yasmina listed out, surprising and somewhat scaring the riders before she looked over to their dragons. "And your dragons' names are Toothless the Night Fury, Stormfly the Deadly Nadder, Hookfang the Monstrous Nightmare, Barf and Belch the Zippleback, Meatlug the Gronckle, Windshear the Razorwhip, and Sandstorm the Sand Wraith. Correct?"
Hiccup and the others stared at her in disbelief along with the other dragons. "Y-Yeah...how did you know?" The leader of the dragon riders asked hesitantly.
Yasmina simply looked at him and answered. "It is not hard to know someone so easily."
"I don't get it." Ruffnut asked in confusion.
"In due time you will." Yasmina said to her mysteriously before looking at the others. "I hope I am not intervening with anything."
"No worries, sister. We were just making some introductions, that is all." Nasir said as he eyed on the males that were hitting on his sister dangerously.
"Who are they?" Heather suddenly asked, looking at Pōkole and Mistral.
"Oh, right, everyone. This is Pōkole the Kakamora and Mistral the Wisp Dragon, say hi guys." Moana said, smiling at them when Pōkole waved his hand while Mistral waved her tail at them.
Astrid, Heather, and Fishlegs found them adorable while Hiccup and Lani were fascinated by this. The Thorston twins found it amazing to see a moving coconut and wanted for themselves. Pōkole goes over to Keoni and then climbs on him as the Kakamora sits on Keoni's shoulder. And Mistral flies over to Moana and wraps herself around her like a scarf, purring as Moana patted her.
"And let's not forget Solaria, the Goldenheart dragon." Coral said excitedly.
"A Goldenheart? What's that?" Fishlegs asked curiously.
"A Goldenheart is a rare species of dragons. They are known to bring good fortune to those who are kind, but for those who are greedy shall suffer a curse." Yasmina explains, holding Solria's head gently. "Solaria and her sisters are the only Goldenhearts left in existence."
"Woah! So are her sisters here?" Fishlegs asked excitingly.
"Yes, but they are not comfortable with Vikings." Nasir added, eyeing on the riders.
"Anyways, we should wrap up the introduction before giving you a tour around the village." Moana said to them. "There are three more dragons that we want you guys to meet."
"Really? Where are they?" Hiccup asked curiously.
"Well..." Moana trailed off when they felt the ground shake. The Dragon Riders and tehri dragons tense as they feel the shake. They think it was an earthquake, but the Freedom Bringers knew what it was. Soon, the water level began to slowly rise when something colossal came out of the water that frightened the riders and their dragons. Standing tall and proud was the Purple Death!
"AAAHHHH! The Purple Death! Hookfang, get me out of here!" There was no reply from the Monstrous Nightmare since the Stoker Dragon was too terrified to move.
"Hi Big Daddy!" Coral exclaims while waving widely at the Purple Death.
The Riders and their Dragons snapped tehri heads towards Coral, screaming in disbelief. "BIG DADDY?!"
"Yup, Big Daddy." Tara answered casually, looking at the Purple Death. "And yes, he's the same Purple Death that tried to get to Berk and probably destroy it. But there was a reason why he was on a rampage."
Coral nodded in agreement. "Turns out, he had an old and rusty sword stuck between his scales. It irritated him a lot and got angry." She added to the explanation.
"And thanks to Chief Moana's brilliant idea, she was able to remove the sword from the Purple Death." Keoni said, making Moana smile at him.
"So his name is Big Daddy?" Heather asked while looking at Bigby with wide eyes.
"His real name is actually Bigby, but the girls can call him Big Daddy while the rest of us call him Bigby. However, in your case, don't call him Big Daddy since he might well...not like you guys." Gil said in a sheepish tone.
"Noted." Hiccup said, looking at Bigby, who glared at them.
Lani looked at Bigby for a short while and then to Cayden, who was eyeing at him suspiciously, before the blonde male realized something from three years ago. If they were there to face the Purple Death years ago, that means...
"You saved me from drowning, didn't you Malie?" Lani asked suddenly towards Malie, causing the mermaid to look at him.
Malie blushed a bit and slowly looked away. "We...we were close to Berk...when we saw you guys needed help, we did our best not to get spotted since we have yet to trust you guys and well..." She trailed off as her blush spread through her face.
Tara sees this and rolls her eyes at Malie, deciding to finish her sentence. "She saw you being knocked out from the sky and decided to save your life, end of story. Any questions?" Before Fishlegs could raise his hand, Tara dismisses it. "Good, glad we're up to speed. Now, let's get a tour on."
"Tara's right, we will show you around and find you all a place to sleep." Moana said to them, which they agreed to.
"By the way, not wanting to be rude or anything but...when will this paralysis wear off!?" Snotlout asked from the ground.
Gil was the one who answered that. "Well, due to it being a Kakamora dart that hit you, the paralysis will wear off in twenty-four hours or better yet, the whole day." He explained to Snotlout.
"Say what?!" Snotlout exclaimed in shock and annoyance.
"But don't worry, there's good news and bad news. The good news is that there is a cure to remove paralysis."
"Oh, thank Thor." Snotlout sighs in relief.
"But the bad news is...you're not going to like it." Gil started with a cringe.
Everyone was confused until they heard two dragon roars. Looking up, the riders gasped to see Shocker and Tsunami flying off from Bigby's back and landed next to their riders. Coral smiles as she hugs her Ocean Fury and Shocker licks Gil's face.
"Woah! A Shockjaw and a dragon that looks like a Night Fury!" Fishlegs squeals in delight, his mind blown by the sudden new species of dragons.
"Yup! This Shocker and Tsunami." Coral said with a proud smile.
"As you know, Shocker is a Shockjaw and Tsunami is an Ocean Fury, a cousin to the Night Fury." Gil explains to them the species. "And they are the ones with the cure for paralysis."
"That's good, but why did you mean by Snotlout not going like it?" Fishlegs asked in confusion.
"Here's the thing, the only way for the paralysis to be off his system. He has to get a little shock from them." Gil explains with a hint of worry.
"In short you're gonna get blasted by Shocker and Tsunami." Tara answered simply with a grin.
"What?! That sounds painful!" Snotlout exclaims in fear.
"It is! And it sounds awesome!" Tuffnut said with a grin which his sister agreed with.
"Only a little spark! Just enough to extract the paralysis off your body!" Gil assured him.
"Oh...but still awesome." Tuff said while Ruff grins and nodded.
"And besides, it's not gonna hurt...maybe." Tara mutters the last part. "So let's get on with it and get ready, because we're gonna show you around the island. Hit you two!" Tara orders the two Tidal Class Dragons, causing Snotlout to panic as the two Tidal Class Dragons prepare their electrical blast at him.
"Wait! Don't I get what you're saying for this?!" Snotlout asked in panic.
Tara thinks about it for a while. "Hmmm...nope! Fire!"
Both Tidal Class dragons released an electrical blast at him, electrocuting his body as he released a howling scream that echoed through the island. But it did remove the paralysis from his body.
"Let the tour begin!" Tara's voice echoed from the island.
Later, Snotlout was seen frowning with his hair straight up and twitching from time to time. He and the others were given a grand tour around the island by the Freedom Bringers. The first place they brought the riders was the food hut. There, they saw Vela and the others preparing food. Snotlout and the twins eyed at the food hungrily, along with their dragons, finding it delicious. They saw various dishes that were unknown to them. Moana offers them a new dessert called malasadas.
"Here, try our new malasadas." Moana said, offering them a plate of delicious treats. The riders took some and sate them, humming in delight at delicious flavor.
"Yum! It's delicious!" Heather commented.
"Yeah!" Astrid said in agreement.
"What's this stuff inside of it?" Fishlegs asked, taking another bite of his malasadas.
"It's jelly." Yasmina answered them.
"Woah, you got it from a jellyfish?" Tuff asked stupidly.
They looked at him in confusion. "No, we got jelly from trading with fairies. We trade our fruits for them to make the jelly. And we learn to make malasadas with the mages." Moana explains to them correctly. It was a good thing they explained about the Enchanted Islands since they need to know some things.
"Amazing." Hiccup said in awe.
Next spot was at a cliffside, where the riders saw children practicing dancing. Astrid, Heather, and Ruffnut find it adorable while Hiccup, Lani, and Fishlegs were fascinated by the dance. Snotlout and Tuffnut decided to show off their dance moves to the children. But in truth, they were trying to impress the locals. I mean locals, I mean the girls. But they failed and ended up bumping into one another, making the children laugh at them in amusement along with the others and their dragons. Then they took them to the hut where the people got their tattoos. Everyone was fascinated at how they place their tattoos. Tuffnut wanted one after seeing one of the locals has a tattoo of a shark on his chest. He came to the tattoo artist that has Terrible Terror by his side as he finished making the tattoo for a friend.
"Can you make a Zippleback tattoo on my back?" Tuffnut asked the tattoo maker. "If you can, then you have to remove the back hair to place the tattoo there."
The tattoo maker and his Terrible Terror looked at him in confusion. "What?"
Tara came over and grabbed the collar of Tuffnut's tunic and looked at the tattoo maker. "Ignore him, he has no idea what he's talking about." She said before dragging Tuffnut away from the tattoo hut, who begged to take him in there.
Next tour is at the healer's hut where the riders saw healers taking care of humans and dragons. Moana explains that they were able to learn how to heal dragons thanks to Gil for he is a great healer. Gil sheepishly replied that he is still learning to make new herbal medicine. They watched as Sina patched up a Deadly Nadder's wing after it hurt itself when flying through the jungle. By her side was Amista the female albino Speed Stinger, she watches her human take care of the Nadder as well as assisting her in getting some herbs. The riders were fascinated to see a Speed Stinger there, let alone an albino. Amista spotted the riders looking at her and gave a short growl, warning them to back off since she still holds a huge grudge against the Vikings that captured her. Noticing her dragon's sudden change of attitude, Sina followed her gaze and saw the Freedom Bringers with the Dragon Riders.
"Oh, Moana! Aliikai! Aloha!" Sina greeted, getting up from the ground and walking over to them with Amista following her.
"Aloha, mom!" Moana greeted Sina.
The two gave each other a loving embrace before letting go. Sina looks over to Aliikai and smiles as she gently caresses her head, earning purrs from the Night Fury. "Hello, Aliikai."
"Hello, mom, how are you today?" Aliikai asked her mother which Moana translated.
"I'm fine, I'm just finishing up." Sina answers to her dragon daughter before Sina looks at riders curiously while Amista glares at them. "I'm sorry, but I don't think we have formally met."
"Oh, right, I'm Hiccup and these are my teammates, Astrid, Lani, Heather, Fishlegs, Ruffnut & Tuffnut, and Snotlout." Hiccup introduced and the dragon riders greeted her.
"Hello, I am Sina, Moana and Aliikai's mother, and this is Amista, my dragon." Sina introduced them to her dragon, but Amista didn't respond or greet them. Instead, she continues to glare at them hatefully.
The riders felt uncomfortable on seeing the Speed Stinger glaring at them. The Freedom Bringers knew very well Amista's hatred towards the Vikings. After all, they were the reason why she was taken from her pack and left for dead on an abandoned ship. The only humans she could trust are the people of Motunui and the residents of the Enchanted Islands.
"I apologize for Amista's behavior, she's been through a lot." Sina answered gently, stroking the Speed Stinger's head gently, trying to calm her down a bit.
"Did...did something happen to her?" Fishlegs asked in concern, trying his best to ignore Amista's glare.
"What else? Dragon hunters." Tara answered with a growl. "Those jerks abandoned ship when a storm hit, leaving Amista alone to die. We were lucky that we found her before she could die and brought her here to Motunui. And thanks to Sina, who nurses her, Amista was able to get back on her feet. Except she holds a big grudge against those hunters and Vikings."
"Yeesh. No wonder she keeps glaring at us." Tuffnut pointed out.
Hiccup symptomizes Amista's pain. "I'm sorry for what you've been through, Amista." Amista responded with a rude snort and growl, shocking the ones that understand dragons. Hiccup was confused as he looked at the Freedom Bringers. "What did she say?"
"She said: I don't need your pity." Tara translated. "And in a really, really rude tone."
Sina sighs softly and pats Amista's head. "She will one day trust you, just give her time." She said, which they agreed.
"Let's continue the tour, shall we?" Moana offered.
The riders agreed and followed the Freedom Bringers, ignoring Amista's cold glare. They followed them through the jungle's path, admiring the beauty of the scenery. Soon, they took flight to the sky, heading towards a particular area. They brought them to a clearing that was surrounded by undergrowth and beautiful plants. The dragons landed on the soft dirt ground and their riders got off them.
"So...why did you bring us here?" Hiccup asked curiously.
"We wanna show you guys a surprise." Moana said with a smile along with the Freedom Bringers. Soon, Moana lets out a sharp whistle that echoes throughout the jungle. They waited for a while before they heard something from the undergrowth. The riders and their dragons became tense as they looked towards the source. And to their surprise and shock, a big Night Fury with scars on his face, came out from the undergrowth.
"Oh...my...Thor..." Hiccup whispers in shock as he stares at the Night Fury with wide and shocked eyes.
"It's...it's..." Fishlegs couldn't find the words to speak as he stared at Night Fury in shock.
Moana smiles and nods as she gestures to the Night Fury. "Everyone, say hello to Blackwell."
"Woah..." The Twins said in awe, looking at Blackwell.
"Amazing..." Astrid spoke in awe while Heather stared at Blackwell.
The male Night Fury made his way to the group, eyeing on the riders suspiciously, before Aliikai came to him. They watched as both Night Furies butted their heads gently kinda like a greeting to the dragon community before looking at each other.
"Thank you for coming, Backwell." Aliikai thanked him kindly.
Blackwell offered a kind smile. "It is my pleasure, Aliikai." He said to her before looking at the riders suspiciously. "So, these are the Vikings that are saving the dragons at the Norse, correct?"
Aliikai nodded at her teacher. "Indeed, they oppose no threat."
"I can see that, but I must know if they really are good." Blackwell said before coming to Hiccup.
Seeing this, Toothless was about to protect his rider until Aliikai stopped him. "Wha-Aliikai? What are you doing?" Toothless asked, worried about his rider.
"Trust him, he knows what he's doing." Aliikai said in an assuring tone.
Toothless wasn't sure about this, but he trusts Aliikai's judgment and watches as Blackwell looks Hiccup in the eye. The rider stares back at Blackwell, like he did when he first met Toothless. The adult Night Fury studies Hiccup carefully, wanting to know if he speaks the truth if he meant to help the dragons. And to Blackwell's surprise, there wasn't a single lie in Hiccup's eyes. In Hiccup's eyes, there is truth and honorability in them. So, finally making his decision, Blackwell closes his eyes and bows at Hiccup respectfully, like if he was saying that he trusts him. Hiccup and the others were shocked to see this before Blackwell got up and then turned towards the bushes with a gentle roar.
"What's going on?" Hiccup asked in concern and curiosity.
Moana smiles as she understands the roar. "You'll see."
After a few seconds, they heard rustling from the bushes and became shocked to see a female Skrill coming out. Snotlout became scared since he remembered what a Skrill can do if you get hit on the head from lightning. They watched as the Skrill known as Elektra came over to Blackwell, eyeing on the group carefully, before they gave each other passionate nuzzles, shocking the riders and dragons.
"Wait a minute...are they?" Astrid trailed off when Tara answered with a grin.
"Eeyup! Everyone, this is Elektra, also known as Blackwell's mate."
"Mate?!" The riders exclaimed in shock.
"Can they do that?!" Fishlegs exclaims in shock. "I mean, two different species, both rivals to be exact, is that even possible?!"
"To them, yes. Both species can interbreed with one another." Gil explains to Fishlegs. "And with their union comes something amazing!"
"What?" Heather suddenly asked curiously.
Elektra lets out a soft call to the bushes and soon, four adorable Skrill Furies come out. Both Riders and dragons gasped to see the four Skrill Furies, especially Fishlegs. The Ingerman's face was about to pop in shock and awe. The four Skrill Furies made their way towards their parents as they were given licks and nuzzles from them before the four younglings ran up to Aliikai, nuzzling and crooning at her happily.
"Ladies and dorks, say hello to the new species of Furies, Skrill Furies!" Tara announced with a grin.
THUD!
Everyone was startled when Fishlegs fainted by the sight of the four Skrill Furies. They guess that he couldn't handle the sudden information that was given to him. Meatlug lets out a warble of worry towards her rider. Knowing very well that he just fainted of a new dragon species that was a combination of two most dangerous and rare breeds. The Skrill Furies came over towards the fainted Fishlegs and sniffs at him. They were curious about him and the other humans since they don't look like the humans of Motunui. The riders' dragons looked at them in fascination and curiosity.
"Amazing..." Toothless said as he looked at the Skrill Furies.
"They are, aren't they?" Aliikai said with a smile.
"What are their names?" Windshear asked curiously.
"Their names are Shockwave, Galestorm, Bolt, and Stormy." Aliikai said, pointing out to the Skrill Furies one by one. "They are a month old and are learning how to fly by their parents."
"Woah, this place is full of surprises." Hookfang commented.
Shockwave, Galestorm, Bolt, and Stormy got on Fishlegs's fainted form and started playing around on him. Galestorm and Bolt were bouncing on his stomach while Shockwave was perched on his arm. Stormy was in front of Fishlegs's face, sniffing at him before licking his face. This, however, woke Fishlegs up and saw little Stormy right in front of him, cooing at the Ingermen curiously. Fishlegs gasped in surprise before sitting up, allowing the Skrill Furies to slide off him.
"I wasn't dreaming! They are real!" Fishlegs said in delight, laughing as the Skrill Furies began playing around Fishlegs.
"They're so adorable!" Heather commented, watching as Shockwave, Galestorm, Bolt, and Stormy ran around them.
"Yeah, a whole new species of dragons." Hiccup said with a smile.
"Furies actually." Gil corrected, causing Hiccup to look at him curiously. "There are rumors that there are different types of furies in the dragon kingdom."
"Really?" Fishlegs asked excitingly. "What kind?"
"Well, there are known to be various furies. Those are Fire Furies, Wind Furies, Ice Furies, Light Furies, Poison Furies, Earth Furies, and above all, the most dangerous of all furies, Death Furies."
The last part brought chills to everyone's spines. "Death Furies? Wh-what are Death Furies?" Hiccup asked in hesitation.
"Well, they are known to be just legends, but the stories go that Lord Draco was creating the species of furies, when he had an unexpected visit from...Hela."
"The Goddess of Death and the ruler of the underworld?" Fishlegs asked with a gasp. "She came to him?"
"Yes, she asked him to make a fury for her, to gather souls that didn't have a proper funeral. But they are also said to be the harbingers of death, they even hunt down those who disrespect Hella and shall suffer a painful death!" Gil said in a dramatic tone, scaring the riders and dragons a bit. The Freedom Bringers weren't sacred, nor their dragons, because they heard this story before from Jade. Clearing his throat, Gil blushed in embarrassment and rubbed the back of his neck. "B-But it's just a legend, no one has seen a Death Fury for ages."
"Y-Yeah, legends..." Snotlout stuttered fearfully.
"Anyways...would like to know more about the furies?" Gil suggested.
"Uh, yeah!" Fishlegs said with happiness. "But do you have any paper and some writing materials I can use?"
Coral appeared behind him with a happy smile and took out a notebook and charcoal pencil. "Here you go!"
"Oh, thank you." Fishlegs thanked her as Coral handed him the materials.
Coral giggled. "No problem!"
Shockwave, Galestorm, Bolt, and Stormy began sniffing around the riders and their dragons, curious about the new strangers, wanting to get to know them. When they come over to Snotlout, then male Jorgenson kneels-down to get a better look at them. They weren't as scary as their parents due to the fact they're still hatchlings.
"Heh, they don't look so tough." Snotlout said with a scoff.
Suddenly, Galestorm and Bolt let out a growl and pounced on Snotlout's face, causing the Viking male to scream, running around, and flailing his arms. Shockwave and Stormy watched as their siblings were biting the stranger's face. The Thorston twins were laughing in amusement to see Snotlout in pain. And the others just simply watched as Snotlout was being beaten up by Skrill Furies.
"The first thing you should know about Skrill Fury hatchlings, that their bites are painful." Moana said to them while Fishlegs wrote it down.
So, spending the whole afternoon studying the Skrill Furies, while constantly trying to pry them off Snotlout's face or arms. Gil had to bandage him up while Yasmina and Nasir explained the Furies to Hiccup and his gang. Moana and the rest of the Freedom Bringers explained to them about their history and gods. The Thorston Twins were more interested in shark god, Kāmohoaliʻi. Wanting to meet the big shark and ride on his back as if he were a dragon, which he is not. But as they discuss, Lani couldn't help but be lost in thoughts about their culture. Whenever they explain, it reminds him of how his dad would tell him stories that were similar to Moana's. It feels like his father used to live here. Lani decided to brush off the thought and decided to have fun with his friends. After explaining about the variation of the furies, they headed back to the village and found a place to rest. It was getting dark, and it was almost time for dinner. Blackwell and his family tagalong since their younglings wanted to eat with other dragons.
"So, Gil? Did Draco really create the Death Furies for Hela?" Lani asked the amphibian man as they were riding their dragons to the village.
Gil looked at him and nodded. "Yup, and legend says that Hela is an ally to Lord Draco. If he needs help, she will assist him." He explains to Lani, who nodded in understanding.
Tara, who was riding with Coral on Tsunami's back, releases a groan. "Hey! That's enough history lessons, let's get something to eat before bed." She said to them as Tsunami flew ahead with Coral cheering happily.
They watched them leave before Lani looked over to Gil. "Is Tara like this?" He asked.
"In a way, but she's really nice once you get to know her." Gil assured Lani.
They soon reached the village and the dragons landed at the center. And once they landed, they saw the whole place decorated, along with matts filled with foods and drinks. They even saw the locals wearing festive clothes and the dragons were with them. The riders and dragons were confused by this, but the Freedom Riders knew very well, since they planned the whole thing.
"Aloha!" The villagers greeted them cheerfully.
The riders and their dragons were confused and surprised by this as the women came towards them and gave the riders each flower necklaces, along with the dragons. Hiccup looks at the flower necklace in confusion and then to Moana. "Chief Moana? Wh-What's going on?" He asked.
Maona chuckles at him. "Surprise! Welcome to the luau."
"Luau? What's a luau?" Astrid asked in confusion, but still was surprised by this.
Tara laughs loudly. "It's what we call a party here."
"A party?! They're throwing a party?" Snotlout asked excitedly.
Coral giggled and spread her arms wide. "A welcome party!" She said brightly. "We told everyone about you guys and decided to give you all a warm welcome after we accidentally locked you up in the holding cell."
"Fair enough." Hiccup said with a shrug.
"So, since we're all here, let's party!" Tara cheered, followed by the villagers and the dragons who roared in delight.
And so, the party began.
