HELLOO, my readers. I just want to say how I am deeply sorry for not posting since I was busy with an assignment, projects, and working on stories that needed to be finished. I will soon make more of Moana: Dragon Adventure soon. I just need some inspiration. Or if you guys have some ideas, leave it here.
Enjoy!
The female Dragon Riders and Freedom Bringers were getting to know one another, finding out their interests and hobbies. Tara got along with Astrid, Heather, and Ruffnut since they are tough shieldmaidens. Yasmina was very calm and patient, answering questions. Coral was happy to have new friends as they spent time with each other.
"So, for generations, your people used to travel throughout the sea?" Astrid asked Moana, walking up to the upper area of the cave.
Moana nodded. "Yup, and we're still doing it till this day when we bring life back to our world."
"And you guys don't need a map or a compass?" Heather asked, looking at the group.
"Nope, we used the stars as our navigation and feeling the ocean's current's temperature, shows us the right way." Moana explains to them.
"Wow, you guys sure know what you were doing back then." Ruffnut compliments.
"Yeah, we almost forgot who we were until the ocean called out to me." Moana said before reaching the top to see a huge running water, revealing it to be a waterfall.
"Wow! We must've reached the waterfall!" Coral said with amazement.
"Well, we won't have to worry about freshwater." Malie said with a smile.
Aliikai nudges her sister gently and points at a small cave, close to the waterfall. She made some dragon sounds, which Moana understood. "Great idea, Ali. We can use that to store the fruits and vegetables. That way they can stay cool and fresh." Moana said in agreement.
"Wow, you sure know how to understand your dragon." Astrid complimented.
"Thanks, Aliikai and I always shared a bond when we first met." Moana said with a smile.
"First met?" Heather asked her curiously.
"Yes. When I was just a toddler, Keoni and I found Aliikai washed up on the island, alone with no one. We took her to our parents and then to the village. Before you know it, she is welcomed to the island as one of us." Moana answered with a smile, sharing a hug with her sister.
"Awww...that's cute." Heather said with a smile but vanished as she realized something. "So, you guys didn't find Aliikai's parents?"
"We don't know where they are." Moana answered truthfully. "We thought they would come and get Aliikai but...but they never showed up. We believed that Aliikai got separated from her pack by a storm."
"Aliikai was all alone?" Astrid asked with sympathy.
"Yeah, if we didn't find her sooner, who knows what would have happened to her." Moana said, gently hugging her dragon.
"They really care for each other, huh?" Heather asked with a small smile.
"They do, and Aliikai vows to protect her and their family against any known threat." Yasmina answers calmly as they continue the conversation.
"So...Tara? How long have you been here?" Astrid asked Tara.
Tara thinks for a while and answers. "Three years. I've been living here for three years with the Freedom Bringers, helping around the village, and saving dragons along the way." She moves a giant boulder with ease to give space, shocking Astrid, Heather, and Ruffnut in the process. "There, this will give enough space for storage." Tara said before noticing the three female Dragon Riders looking at her. Tara gave a confused look. "What?"
"How...how are you that strong?" Astrid questions her, looking at Tara from up and down.
The girls knew very well what it meant. Tara didn't hide her powers, but they have the right to know who she is and what happened to her. So, Tara began her tale of how her mother, Fiona Aaberg, had a run with Loki, the God of Mischief, and got pregnant with Tara. And as a departing gift, Loki gave Tara the Lycanwing curse.
"Your father...is Loki?" Heather asked in shock, trying to process everything.
Tara nodded. "Yup."
"And you're a Lycanwing? A dragon that we thought was just a myth, but it was actually real?" Astrid was the next to ask.
Tara nodded again. "Pretty much."
"And if you're a Lycanwing does that mean you..." Ruffnut trails off her question as Tara already has the answer.
"No, I didn't bite your brother. Heck, I wasn't even on your island. I was here the whole time." Tara answered Ruffnut blankly.
"She's right." Coral said, backing up on Tara's defense. "And besides, didn't you guys say that it was a wolf?"
"Oh, yeah..." Ruffnut said in realization.
Astrid came over to Tara. "Is that the reason why you never came back to Berk all those years ago?" She asked with concern in her eyes.
Tara responded with a nod." Yes, due to my 'curse' I had to stay away from humans in order to survive." Tara explains to them as she easily climbs up a rocky wall. "I hid myself from all Viking kinds, even when they are at peace with dragons, I still hide. There was no way Vikings were ready to have a Lycanwing in their community."
Astrid and Heather felt pity towards her, knowing that she had to hide from the Vikings. I mean, some say that turning to a dragon is a sign of a bad omen. The Vikings would never accept Tara back when they still fought dragons even if she hides it, they'll know eventually. So, she had no choice but to hide for the rest of her life. Until she was found and accepted by Moana and her people.
"You know, it's kind of cool to have all the dragon powers." Ruffnut said with a grin, walking besides Tara. "I mean, you can breathe fire, talk to dragons, fly, and cause mass destruction and chaos!"
Tara laughs in amusement. "I don't know about mass destruction or chaos, but I only use it for emergencies like in battle or escaping danger." She answered casually before lifting a rock up with one arm. "Plus, I can help out in the village anytime."
Tara placed the rock out of the way, allowing Aliikai and Solaria to flatten the rocky surface to make it smooth. "There we go, a nice place for putting baskets and wood for the fire."
"That's perfect." Moana said with a smile. "Now, we just need to work on the stairs, so the villagers can climb up."
"We can help." Astrid offered. "Meatlug can eat the rocks that are in the way and both Stormfly Windshear will flatten the steps and add some railings to it.
"That's a great idea, Astrid." Malie said with a smile. "This way, the villagers won't have trouble climbing."
"Yeah! And we can add a slide, that would be pretty awesome." Ruffnut said with a grin.
Moana raises a brow before looking at the rest of the group. "What do you girls think?"
"Hmm...sounds nice, good for the kids to have some fun." Malie said with a smile.
"We could add some soft pads there for a safer landing." Yasmina added to the idea.
"And making sure that they're adults nearby." Astrid soon joins in.
Tara grins at this. "I'll like this plan. We're making progress and becoming good friends." She said as she swung both her arms around Astrid and Heather, who were grinning at this.
Malie then begins thinking. "I wonder how the boys are doing?" She hums out curiously as her thoughts wander to the boys.
Speaking of the boys, unlike the girls who are making great progress, the boys...ehh...not so much. They aren't sharing any conversation since the girls were the ones doing so. Nasir and Keoni have yet to trust them while Maui and Gil aren't sure what to say. The ones who are getting along were the dragons as Toothless was talking with Tsunami the Ocean Fury. The two close species get along swimmingly (pun intended) and he was the only one who was the one opened up to them. Hiccup, wanting to try and be friendly with them, tried to make conversation and make sure not to ask too much.
"So...um...how long did you meet your dragons?" Hiccup asking, picking up a basket, following Nasir and Keoni towards the spot where the baskets are placed.
"When saving the world from eternal darkness," Keoni answered casually.
"Since I was a child." Nasir answered, checking the storage of the basket.
"Saved him from being eaten by a Submaripper." Gil answered, listing off the items in the basket.
"Don't have one, unless you count Mistral the Wisp Dragon." Maui answered.
"...Okay..." Hiccup said awkwardly, trying his best to make a conversation.
Having had enough of this, Snotlout decides to butt in. "Look, I don't want to make lame small talk with you guys-"
Nasir cuts him off after helping a villager bring some equipment to make a table. "Then don't."
As Snotlout was about to say something rude, Lani decided to intervene and ask a nicer question, "So...mind telling us how your people discovered Motunui? We're just curious, that's all."
Keoni isn't sure that he should tell them about their island's history and was going to brush them off until he heard the girls laughing. Glanding up, he saw the girls were chatting about, laughing, and giggling as Tara said something funny. After seeing their display, Keoni looked back at the rest of the male Freedom Bringers with a knowing look. Nasir was against this, but seeing his sister trusting the girls, he will allow to trust the males, for once. Gil and Maui agreed as well since they are going to be allies.
"Very well." Keoni said with a sigh as Hiccup, Lani, and the other males listened to the tale. "The Great Matai Vasa and my ancestor, Palani, sailed across the ocean with our people. Hopping from island to island, exploring them, until finally reaching an island that we can finally call home." Keoni looks at the cave to see all the people working together with the dragons to make the shelter. "They found Motunui."
The male dragon riders looked at the people and dragons, working together with pure joy. The adults were building some indoor huts for placing the foods or herbs while the dragons searched for good nesting areas for them and their humans. Hiccup, Lani, and Fishlegs were the ones that realized that because Moana and Keoni's ancestors helped their people sail across the massive ocean and learn not just about islands, but also dragons.
"Once the people settled here, Matai Vasa and Palani agreed that the island is for all, allowing dragons to rest on our shores and are welcomed with open arms." Keoni continues the tale of Motunui.
"Really?" Tuffnut asked loudly, surprised how the people of Motunui were so easy going with the dragons back then. "Back before we could ride dragons, whenever the dragons came by, we always attacked first with swords raised."
Keoni and Nasir gave dried looks, along with Cayden. Not amused by this. Lani and Hiccup facepalmed at this, getting the bad feeling that Keoni would stop telling them the tale. But the Keahi heir decides that it was best to continue the tale while ignoring Tuffnut's shenanigans.
"As I was saying, every new chief that is the descendant of Matai Vasa's will venture more throughout the vast ocean, as a rite of passage." Keoni said to them.
"Rite of passage..." Hiccup repeats the words in astonishment.
"When the darkness came, we stopped voyaging and forgot our way." Keoni continues on before picking up some firewood.
"Until you and the others travel through the ocean to find Maui and return the heart back to your goddess's name Te Fiti, right?" Hiccup asked him.
Keoni nodded his head. "Yes, after Moana and Aliikai returned the heart, peace returned and Lord Draco gave us the task of returning the dragons back to our region, where they could be safe from dragon hunters."
"So, you guys were just bringing all the dragons back here? To their real home?" Lani asked in shock.
"Yes, Draco created all these dragons as a gift for the islands that Te Fiti made." Keoni answered.
"So...what dragons actually live here?" Fishlegs asked curiously, wanting to know more about the history of dragons.
"Well, from what I recall, they were Deadly Nadders, Monstrous Nightmares, Terrible Terrors, Changewings, Gronckles, Zipplebacks, Timberjacks, Razorwhips, Raincutters, Singetails, Grapple Grounders, Triple Strykes, and different types of Tidal Class Dragons." Keoni listed out, remembering the lessons that they had with Jade.
"What about Night Furies?" Hiccup asked curiously.
"Well, it's not sure if Night Furies used to live here since they are known to travel from island to island, and never stayed on the spot." Gil explains, remembering from the books he read at the Temple of Knowledge. "Unlike the other Furies, the Night Furies are always mysterious, always keeping to themselves. Or so the legend goes."
"Speaking of legends..." Tuffnut began as he came over to the amphibian man. "Do you know about a guy that can turn into a dragon if he was bitten during a full moon and..."
Snotlout cuts him off with a groan. "Oh, for the love of Thor...Tuffnut! The Lycanwing–"
Gil cuts him off as he corrected Snotlout's statement, "Actually, the Lycanwing is real," he said, getting shocked faces from the dragon riders. "In fact, you just met one."
"We did?" Tuffnut asked in confusion and shock. "Who?"
"She was the girl that catapulted you, your sister, and Snotlout to a bush of poison oak." Nasir was the one that answered, helping some villagers with the equipment.
"What are...wait a minute..." Hiccup suddenly trails off as he realizes what Nasir meant. Looking up where the girls are, he saw Tara laughing with Astrid, Heather, and Ruffnut, talking about some things that he does not quite understand. But upon closer look, he saw Tara showing the three girls her hand before turning it to a dragon claw, shocking them, including Hiccup. The Haddock wasn't the only one who notices this, Lani too saw how Tara turned her hand into a claw before looking at Nasir in realization.
"You're saying that Tara is a Lycanwing?!" Lani asked in shock.
Nasir nodded his head. "Yes, she is a Lycanwing, and no she did not go to your island and bite your friend, Tuffnut. You already declared it was a wolf." He said, already noticing that Snotlout was about to ask that and soon stopped. "And she doesn't like the fact that Lycanwing powers were given to her by Loki."
This caught the riders' attention as Gil was the one who explained about the Lycanwing and how Loki stole it from Draco, using the Lycanwing as a curse and gave it to an unexpected Viking name Bjorn, who lived his whole life as a cursed Viking. He soon gave the curse to a boy named Kessler by accident when he came to Berk. He didn't mean to, but Kessler came to him without stopping and he thought he was attacking him and bit his arm, giving him the Lycanwing curse. They two males had no choice but to leave from Archipelago and found themselves to the Enchanted Islands. There, they lived in solitude and peace with the other magical beings, away from Vikings. The group was shocked by this, especially Tuffnut. He was amazed that Tara was given powers by Loki!
"Wow! She's so lucky to get dragon powers from Loki!" Tuff said with a grin.
"Eh...I don't think she would be pleased to hear that." Gil said with hesitation.
"Why is that?" Fishlegs asked him.
"She despises Loki." Nasir answered for Gil. "She hated Loki for cursing her when she was born and giving her mother a hard time raising her while keeping her daughter's Lycanwing power a secret with her life."
"So that's why." Hiccup said in realization and pity, having no idea how Tara's hatred of Loki is strong.
Maui nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, and to make matters worse, Tara not only got the curse, but she's also related to the guy who gave her."
"What?" They all asked in shock, hoping that they heard it right.
"Oh, you didn't know?" Maui looked at the group. "Tara is a demigod like me, and her father is Loki."
"Loki...the God of Mischief...is Tara's dad?" Hiccup asked slowly and in shock.
Nasir nodded his head. "Indeed, she doesn't like to talk about him and never will."
"And because she has a lot of pent up anger that she wants to say to his face." Gil added, shivering as he remembered the long and angry words that Tara said about Loki.
"How angry are we talking about?" Fishlegs dared to ask.
"Angry enough to massacre an entire Viking village." Tara's voice came from behind, causing the male Dragon Riders to yelp in shock before turning around to see Tara and the rest of the girls with her. "So, you guys are talking about my good for nothing dad?" She asked sarcastically.
The male dragon riders looked at each other with unsureness before looking at the male freedom bringers. They just shrugged at their allies, not sure what to do either. So, looking back to Tara, Hiccup was the one who confessed that they did.
"Yeah. And we're sorry if we offended you or...you know...mentioning about-"
Tara cuts Hiccup's sentence. "No need, you guys were just curious, and yes. My dad is Loki and yes, I carry the Lycanwing curse." She answered as she took out her hand and turned into a dragon claw. "See?"
They just stared at her claw hand in pure shock. Tuffnut was about to touch it until Nasir slapped his hand down, which resulted in Tuffnut whining and rubbing his hand in pain. "That's...that's incredible." Lani said in amazement.
Tara reverts her claw back to a hand and said, "Yeah, it kinda is."
"Is that the reason why you never come back to Berk?" Fishlegs asked Tara, who nodded her head.
"Yeah, even when you guys made peace, I still didn't come back. I wasn't sure if you guys are ready to have a Lycanwing girl on your island." Tara said to the group.
"Are you kidding me? It would be awesome!" Tuff said with a grin. "Think of the destruction and chaos we can do if we have you with us!"
"Yeah! Total Loki!" Ruff said in agreement.
Tara stared at them, "Well, I am not sure of the whole destruction and chaos thing since I don't want to be my dad, but I do want to use it on those Dragon Hunters."
"Speaking of Dragon Hunters, we must be ready for infiltration." Nasir said, getting the dragon riders' attention. "Our sources told us that the dragon hunters are hiding the dragons somewhere on a hidden island. We found it and will depart soon as possible." He then looks at Hiccup. "If you want, you and your friends can help us with the rescue."
"Of course, after all, we'll do anything to save the dragons." Hiccup said, patting Toothless's head gently, earning purrs from the Night Fury. "And maybe, you can meet my dad. He would love to have a peace treaty with you and your people, Chief Moana." Hiccup said to the chieftest.
Moana thinks about it, "Well, we do need help in this search...but are you sure you guys are up for the risk?"
"We're Vikings. It's an occupational hazard." Hiccup said with a smile. "And we do have stubbornness issues."
Moana couldn't help but smile. "I bet you do." She said jokingly before looking at Keoni. "Keoni, tell the rest of the freedom bringers that we will be adding members to the rescue."
Keoni nodded his head, "Understood, Moana." He said as he left the cave with his dragon.
Moana turned towards Yasmina, "Yas. Please contact Adira and tell her that we have extra recruits in the rescue mission."
Yasmina bows her head before she vanishes from thin air, surprising the dragon riders in the process. Then Malie walks over to the group, causing Snotlout to act all good looking, but she ignores him and goes over to Lani.
"So, I guess we're gonna work together?" Malie asked sheepishly.
Lani couldn't help but smile with a small blush on his face. "Yeah, I guess we are."
"So...since we're working together, should we tell the Chief about them before or after Berk's 400-year anniversary?" Tuffnut asked curiously.
Realizing what he meant, the dragon riders and Lani just remembered Berk's anniversary. Hiccup facepalmed by this, forgetting the most important day in their Viking History.
"I take it that this event is important to Berk?" Nasir questions Hiccup after he sees him facepalming.
"Yeah, and I promise my dad that we will be performing Berk's 400-year anniversary." Hiccup confessed to them.
"Isn't that when Berk was founded by your forefathers and how they survived the grueling and dangerous weather for many years?" Tara asked Hiccup.
"Yup, that's the one." Hiccup said to Tara before looking at Moana. "And I know may it sound impossible, but maybe you and your people can come to Berk and meet my dad. That way, he and the others will know about you guys and will help you on your mission in saving the dragons."
Moana thinks about it and then looks at her friends, silently debating whether or not they should bring Berkians involved on their missions. Even though the history of the Vikings brought many wounds to the merfolks and the dragons all those years ago, this could be a chance to redeem themselves.
"All right, we'll do it, but you better promise me that you won't try and backstab us." Moana said to Hiccup seriously.
Hiccup nodded his head. "You have my word, Chief Moana. I promise you that we will never betray you, your people, your friends, your allies, and the dragons. We will be there to help and protect them from danger." He vowed as he outstretched his hand.
Looking at Hiccup, Moana could tell that he wanted to have peace instead of war with her people and their allies. And that he and his friends are trying to save the dragons from those hunters as they are. So, smiling softly, Moana accepted Hiccup's hand.
"Then I accept your alliance." She said to Hiccup.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them started to glow a green light, revealing a swirl. There, plants, fauna, and flowers appeared on the rocky surface, shocking the riders and their dragons. It brought beauty and light to the cavern as the flowers emit a beautiful glow.
"Wow!" The dragon riders said in awe.
"Te Fiti has blessed this alliance." Moana suddenly said with a smile. "With this vow, you will be at her protection, and you will not break this promise that you committed."
"Don't worry, I am not intending to." Hiccup promised her with an assuring smile before letting go.
Lani smiles at the magnificent sight. "Wow, so this is what magic is." He said in awe.
"Yup, and you better keep the promise of what Hiccup said." Tara said to Lani and the others. "If you guys dare betray us, I'll introduce you guys to my little friends. Their names are PAIN, AGONY, and DEATH!" Tara lifted both her fists before pointing at Cayden, who was glaring at the group with a deadly growl.
Lani and the boys gulped in fear, knowing the danger of what a single Sky Destroyer could do to them. Gil made a nervous laugh and stopped the fight. "Hehehe...let's not go too hasty, after all. We are friends now, right?" He looked at the group.
"Yeah, friends!" Snotout said fearfully.
"Really, really, really, good friends!" Fishlegs squeaks in fear.
Tara gave a look before doing a 'I'm watching you' gesture before going over to the rest of the Freedom Bringers. Nasir walked over to Maoan. "Since the Dragon Riders have become our new allies, when do you think we should make our move?" He asked the chieftest.
"For now, we wait. The Elven King Eion has sent a spy that will inform us when the dragon hunters will strike. We have to meet with Hiccup's father in hopes to have a peace treaty with him." Moana informs Nasir before turning to some Keahi warriors. "Prepare some gifts for the chief of Berk as soon as possible."
The warriors bowed and quickly left the cave, preparing the gifts that are needed for the peace treaty. Watching them leave, Hiccup turns to Moana with slight surprise and a hint of embarrassment.
"Oh, you don't have to do that." Hiccup said to Moana.
"Hiccup, it's part of tradition." Tara said to the Viking male. "If a chief wishes to make an alliance with another, they have to give gifts as a sign of peace and unity. And from what I heard; Berk no longer has gold. Am I right?"
Hiccup cringed to that, knowing that Berk lost all of its gold from Viggo after their mission to infiltrate their dragon auction. And getting gifts would make his father less angry and would have the money to provide for Berk.
"I guess you're right." Hiccup said to Tara with a defeated sigh.
Tara slaps on his back hard which makes Hiccup yell in pain. "Of course, I am!" She said boastfully.
Coral gasped and looked at Malie. "We should give some gifts too! As a peace offering for the merfolks! After all, our ancestors did almost flood the whole world." She said to the princess.
Malie blushed in embarrassment as she realized what she meant. "Y-yeah, I guess you're right. And daddy did say I can use anything in the royal treasure room." She said sheepishly.
"I'm sorry, did you just say royal treasure room?" Snotlout asked curiously. "As in, a treasure room filled with jewels, gold, silvers, and any possible gemstones?"
"..." Malie, Gil, and Coral looked at each other and then to Snotlout in confusion. "Um...yes?"
"And you said royal treasure room...are you royalty or something!?" Snotlout suddenly asked in shock.
"Wow, it only took you a few seconds to put the pieces together." Tara said sarcastically but shrugged it off. "And yes, Malie here is royalty. She is the princess of Aquatica and heir to the throne."
"...Princess!?" The dragon riders exclaimed in shock.
"You're a princess?!" Lani asked the mermaid in shock, eyes widened as dinner plates.
Malie made a sheepish smile. "Yeah...sorry for not telling you guys. But we aren't sure if you were ready to know yet." She confesses to them.
"Uh, yeah you should have!" Snotlout said with a grin. "You and I are meant for each other." He wiggled his brow at Malie, creeping her out in process.
Annoyed at his antique, Tara smacks him on top of his head so hard that he falls to the ground. "OW!"
"News flash, Snotdork. Malie is not interested in going out with you and besides, her parents might already got her suitors." Tara informs him in annoyance.
"What?" Lani suddenly asked in shock, feeling dread within his stomach.
Tara looks at him, "Malie is a princess of a mermaid kingdom. She has to be married to a nobility or someone with great honor or whatever," She informs Lani, who becomes disappointed.
Seeing this, Coral and Gil decided to step in. "Technically, King Seaton and Queen Vivia have yet to decide whether or not Malie will be engaged. For all we know, they will let her decide who she wants to marry." Gil informs them.
"Yeah! And it's Malie's decision to choose her future husband." Coral added with a smile, causing Malie to blush in embarrassment.
Tara made a bored look on her face and decided to play along, "Mm-hmm, sure. Whatever. Anyways, we should tell your dad and the elders about your peace treaty with Berk." She said towards Moana.
Knowing what she meant, Moana nodded her head. "Right. They are to be informed about our departure and making peace with a Viking Tribe." She said with a smile.
"Before we leave, we need to check on an island first. If it's alright with you." Hiccup questions Moana.
"It's all right. We wanted to explore more about your region and to see what dragon we could help." Moana said in assurance.
"Believe me, Chief Moana. You will be surprised." Hiccup said, smiling back.
However, they have no idea that Viggo did something that could harm Hiccup and his friends.
