The Freedom Bringers and the Dragon Riders were sneaking up towards Viggo's Island. They were alone, they brought the Auxiliary Team, Stoick, Gobber, Heather, and Dagur (Heather's long lost older brother and the leader of the Berserker tribe), ready to launch their daring assault on the hunters. They had a meeting this morning about the assault and ending of the mysterious Project Shellfire. The group had worked together with the Dragon Riders, discovering new dragons, helping find the lost gold while meeting Dagur, who was fascinated by the Freedom Bringers. And also meeting the Defenders of the Wing, who were shocked and amazed at the sight of the Freedom Bringers, especially towards their magical friends. They learned that their Great Protector, an Eruptodon, had just given birth to a single egg. Mala told them that the Eruptodon only could lay a single egg in its lifetime. But due to her advanced age, the Great Protector could not journey to the volcano to hatch her young. Hiccup and Fishlegs argued that they should assist Mala since they wanted to see what secret there was in the volcano. But soon stopped when Tara angrily decided that Mala should go with Moana, Yasmina, and Solaria the Goldenheart. Since they can understand dragons, Yasmina knows all about dragons, and Solaria is basically lava proof. Mala agreed to this. And with no problem, they successfully brought the egg inside before they got trapped by the lava. And thus, earning the respect from Mala and the rest of the Defenders of the Wing, as well as forming an alliance.
Anyways, back to the task, the group was heading towards Viggo's Island when the Thorston Twins flew towards Hiccup, already having some ideas for his killer catchphrase to Viggo. Even though Hiccup didn't want one.
"Okay, we've been giving this a lot of thought and here's what we have so far." Ruffnut said to Hiccup as Barf came forward with Tuffnut riding him, allowing the male Thorston to present his killer catchphrase's idea.
"Is that an axe in your face, or are you just happy to see me?" Tuffnut said, earning a blank look from Hiccup and Toothless. "No? Ok. Not a problem."
Barf moves away and gives Ruffnut her presentation, "Viggo, this is going to hurt you a lot more than it's going to hurt me!"
"Okay, how long are you guys going to do that?" Tara asked telepathically in her Lycanwing form.
Tuffnut answered, "Until we find the one! Oh! How about this one?" Tuffnut cleared his throat. "Goodnight, and good luck! Wait. No, no, no."
Snotlout, who was getting fed up with this, yelled, "Give it a rest, will you?!"
"We didn't say you were involved in this, Snotlout." Tuffnut said to the Stoker Class Rider.
"Although that line wasn't half bad." Ruffnut said with emotion as she did it in her way, "Give it a rest, will ya, Viggo?"
Hiccup sighs in annoyance, "Oh for the love of...Riders, Freedom Bringers, ready! Just like we practiced!" Hiccup ordered as they made their way to Viggo's island.
However, upon reaching the island, they noticed something was wrong. The island was...quiet, not a single guard nor hunter was seen. They searched around the area and found everything completely destroyed or abandoned. Everyone was both confused and shocked by the looks of things. They search around the area before landing near the tents.
Tara turns into her human form and walks over to her team, "Hmm...someone must've beat us and took care of things." Tara said, sniffing the air.
Stoick nodded in agreement, "But the question is, who?"
"Let's search the island, maybe they're hiding." Moana suggested.
"Agreed." Hiccup said in agreement as they all looked around.
Moana, Hiccup, and their Night Furies entered Viggo's tent, only to find it empty. The only thing they could find is a board game called Maces and Talons. But that's it, nothing else was there. Enraged, Hiccup flips the table in frustration. Which startled Moana and the Night Furies.
"Oh Thor! What is it going to take to catch this guy?!" Hiccup exclaims in anger.
"Hiccup, calm down, we'll catch him, but being angry won't solve this." Moana said to Hiccup.
Hiccup sighs, "I know, I know, I'm sorry...it's just! AUGH! Viggo is not like any hunter we face." Hiccup apologies while vetting out his frustration.
"Well, he never faced other dragon riders before." Moana assures him, "We'll get him, Hiccup, just you wait."
Aliikai and Toothless watched Hiccup venting out his anger, before they spotted one of the pieces of the board game suddenly making a suspicious sound, sounding like a metal, and revealed to be a trapped door. Narrowing their eyes, both Night Furies went to their respectful rides, getting their attention as they pointed on the hidden door. Surprised and suspicious, Hiccup and Moana followed their dragons to the hidden spot while Toothless and Aliikai checked the door. As the Night Furies sniffed the door to determine what or who was inside of it, they let out growls of rage, indicating that they found something. The two young leaders looked at each other and nodded as Hiccup grabbed the handle and opened an underground hatch. Toothless attempts to release a plasma blast, but Hiccup quickly stops him from using this action.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold your fire!" Hiccup stops Toothless from firing as Moana came to inspect as well, but soon gasped at the sight before them.
The one inside the trapdoor was none other than Viggo Grimmborn. He was severely beaten up and dirty, like he got into a nasty fight. But all in all, he was alive. And when he looked at Hiccup, his expression was mixed with annoyance, rage, but also relief.
"I never imagined that these words would come out of this mouth, but, my dear Hiccup, I am overjoyed to see you." Viggo said in relief.
Hiccup, Moana, and their Night Furies stared in shock at the sight of Viggo, clearly not what they expected to see the leader of the dragon hunters.
After getting Viggo out, the rest of the group came, shocked and angered at the sight of Viggo, who was sitting on the chair, and was soon interrogated by an angry Dragon Riders and Freedom Bringers. They are not too pleased to see Viggo. After all, he hunts and kills dragons for sport. They have their reasons to be angry at this guy. Both Keoni and Nasir readied their spears as they were ready to attack Viggo if he tried anything.
"What happened here? Viggo, where is the Dragon Eye?" Hiccup asked him suspiciously.
Suddenly, someone enters the tent, causing them to turn around, and are surprised to see a grumpy-looking Stoick entering the tent and is unamused to see Viggo. Stoick then furiously made his way to Viggo, clearly angry for all that he had done to the past.
"You come after my son. You come after my home." As Stoick marches towards Viggo, Hiccup and Moana back away slowly, and Stoick physically harassed Viggo by grabbing his neck, strangling him. "Now you get to deal with me!"
Hiccup quickly stops his father, "Dad, wait! Revenge is not a plan. Remember..."
"That was for you. For me, it goes down a treat."
"Chief Stoick, don't you dare!" Moana said firmly, getting everyone's attention, "I understand what Viggo did, but don't tell us what had happened here or the other hunters, we'll lose track of them."
"Moana's right, Chief." Tara said, backing up Moana, "As much as I want you to strangle that guy, Viggo has information that we need. So, put him down, and let him speak."
Surprisingly, Stoick agrees, putting Viggo down to his seat, allowing the leader of the dragon hunters to explain, "Ryker's lost all sense of reason. He's on his own and unfortunately managed to sway the soft minds of the Dragon Hunters. My brother has turned them against their leader."
"More like idiots." Tara mutters out.
"And that, right there, is why I'd rather have a sister any day of the week." Tuffnut said.
"Uh-huh." Ruffnut said in agreement as she raised her hand to high-five.
However, Tuffnut really meant, "Not you, obviously, but a different sis." Earning a frown from Ruffnut while both Nasir and Yasmina rolled their eyes at them.
"Ryker's plan, as simple-minded as it is, is to wipe out the Dragon Riders and all of your allies." Viggo said.
"Yeah, h-how is that different from every other bad guy we've ever dealt with?" Hiccup asked Viggo.
"And defeated! Yeah." Fishlegs said proudly.
Viggo shook his head, "The difference, my dear Hiccup is project Shell Fire. You two remember that. Don't you?" He said towards Ruff and Tuff, who glared at him.
Just then, Ruffnut came to him, face to face, "Just remember, if Viggo, you go!" She said, which confuses Viggo.
Then it was Tuffnut's turn, "That's right. Today's your day to burn, and we're the torches with the fire that burns!"
As Tuffnut leaves, Viggo was in utter confusion and disturb on what he just witnessed. He then looked at the rest of the riders and Freedom Bringers, asking them what the heck just happened, "I'm sorry. Did I miss something?"
"No, they're just being...yeah, they're just like that." Maui said as the Thorston twins do threatening looks towards Viggo.
Hiccup sighs and looks at the twins, "Guys, guys maybe not now." He said as he looked at Viggo seriously, "Tell me what project Shell Fire is. We know it's some sort of weapon. Is it a boat? A Dragon?"
Viggo simply looks at him, "In due time, I will divulge all. Project Shell Fire, the location of the Dragon Eye. But only if you help me stop my brother and send me on my way."
Snotlout suddenly lets out a fake cough, "Yak dung!" Snotlout then acted all innocent, "Oh, I'm sorry. I had something in my lying throat!"
"I can't believe I'm saying this but...Snotlout's right." Keoni said.
"For once." Tara mutters out, not noticing the curious look that Viggo was giving her. "I mean, come on! This is Viggo! The guy who hunts dragons for sport! Threatened the lives of innocents! He's nothing but a lying backstabber! He probably did this more than once!"
Viggo couldn't help but be impressed by this, "Your red hair companion is correct. And I agree. Trusting me is, shall we say, a stretch. Therefore, as a show of good faith, I will tell you where and when my brother will strike next. Give you time to save some of your allies, which he systematically intends to destroy. The next attack is on the Defenders of the Wing. This will be followed by the Outcasts, Berserkers and Berk itself, in no particular order. While Ryker is no tactical genius, he still manages to hold some things close to the vest." He then looks at the Freedom Bringers with an unreadable expression, "Although, they have a chance, considering Ryker doesn't know where their island is. But might I suggest that you should evacuate to their island for safe keeping."
This causes everyone to stare at him with uncertainty, especially Stoick. That guy can't be trusted at all. He is a mastermind and a manipulator. Heck, he's the one that started this war in the first place! The Freedom Bringers also didn't like the fact that they should trust Viggo. Since he was the one that sent those hunters to capture dragons. And the one that captured Blackwell and Elektra! Afterwards, they left the tent, but not before Viggoa said to Hiccup this warning.
"Time is of the essence Hiccup. It is the ability to make expeditious decisions that saves lives."
Hiccup closes the tent as he sees the group with expressions of annoyance. Astrid points at Viggo's direction in anger out of genuine mistrust. "There is no way we're believing one word this guy says."
"Astrid's right." Maui said to Hiccup. "I mean, he and his brother hunted dragons for a living. And, like Tara said, he's a lying backstabber!"
Hiccup, who was looking desperate, agrees, "We can't just ignore it. There are too many lives at stake."
"Sounds risky, Hiccup, but if it means saving lives, we have to do it." Lani said.
Stoick puts his hand on his son's shoulder, "Agreed. Gobber and I will take the auxiliary riders back to Berk. Just in case." He said and the A Team agreed while Gobber nodded his head.
Hiccup nodded as he looked at the Berserker Siblings. "Heather, Dagur, make sure Berserker Island's ready." He orders, causing Dagur and Heather to nod affirmatively and leave. Hiccup then looks at Moana, "Moana, you should bring the Freedom Bringers back to Motunui and secure yourselves."
"Hiccup, we can't leave you and the riders alone." Moana said to Hiccup.
"Yeah, he doesn't even know where Motunui is." Coral said, backing Moana up.
"I know, but if Ryker somehow finds a way to get to your region, even without Mistral, he will find a way to your region." Hiccup said, not wanting them to be endangered because of him.
Moana and her team were not so sure, but they did need to check on their people, "All right, we'll go, but we'll send Maui and Mistral to check on you guys if you need help."
"Good idea," Hiccup said in agreement.
"Okay, Hiccup, what's our next motive?" Lani asked.
"We're going to check on the Defenders of the Wing." Hiccup said to the group.
"And what about Viggo?" Astrid asked Hiccup.
"Yeah, you can't leave him here." Tara said, glaring at the tent.
"I guess he's coming with us. There's no other way, Astrid." Hiccup said.
"How about an alternative." Moana suggested. "We'll take Viggo to Motunui while you and the other riders go and inform Mala about the attack."
"Are you sure you can handle him?" Hiccup asked her in concern.
Moana gave him an assuring smile, "Hiccup, Viggo will be heavily guarded by the best Keahi warriors of Motunui and dragons that are trained to defend. So, yeah, we can handle him."
Hiccup sighs but agrees. Since Viggo doesn't know the terrains of Motunui, it is the best bet they got. "All right, but keep your guard up, one wrong move, and Viggo will somehow escape."
"We got it, Hiccup, be safe." Moana said.
And with that, everyone got their plans.
Viggo was inside a holding cell within the mountains of Motunui. There, he is heavily guarded by the best Keahi warriors, including Keoni's older sisters and Tara, and their dragons. Moana was talking with her dad and the council to keep the security up, making sure that everyone is safe and keeping the weapons hidden. Viggo was sitting patiently in his cell, looking at the people of Motunui curiously. Especially towards Tara, like he recognizes her somewhere. Tara, on the other hand, was not amused by this. She finds it very annoying and disturbing at the sight of him looking at her. She is not some sort one of kind prize...well, except for the part she's a Lycanwing and there is no way he can know about this. After Moana finished talking with her dad and the council, Tara looks back at Viggo, as she had enough of his stare.
"Okay, I'm gonna pull a limb, and say: What in Thor's name do you want? And quit staring at me." Tara said to Viggo in annoyance, her cross and her green eyes glaring at him.
Viggo gave her a calm yet unreadable expression, "My apologies, you remind me of someone from long ago."
Tara rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Yeah, right, how can my looks make you think that I remind you of someone?" Tara asked blankly.
Viggo was not fazed by her rudeness as he simply said to her this, "My dear, looks can be deceiving, and your looks, well...they remind me of this woman I met years ago and she...had a child."
This caught Tara's attention, she knew that he was up to something. She knew her mother traded to various places, before and after when Tara was born. So, of course Viggo would know her, but she isn't sure if he was telling the truth. So, she pretends she doesn't know. "Yeah...right."
"Pretending that you don't know won't change it...Tara." Viggo said her name, causing Tara to narrow her eyes at him, "I know that you are the daughter of that trader woman, Fiona Aaberg."
"What did you say?" Tara questions him, growing anger coursing through her veins, restraining herself from tearing this man apart. "How do you know me and my mother?"
"Like I said, I met her years ago, when you were just a baby." Viggo said to her calmly.
"Lies!" Tara roared, surprising Viggo. "There's no way you met my mother or me!"
"But I have." Viggo said casually, looking at Tara's angry glare calmly, "And it was the day I will never forget that woman. She has...a fire that shows great beauty."
"Say that again about my mother, you slimy, shallow, power-hungry, greedy, chattering, son of a-!"
"Tara!" Moana calls out to her, causing Tara to look at Moana, who was giving her a stern look, "That's enough. Go with the others, we'll take it from here."
At first, Tara didn't want to, she didn't want them to be alone with Viggo. After all, he is a creep and a manipulator. However, she almost lost herself, and Viggo knew that she would be his ticket out of here. So, sighing, Tara gave a nod to Moana, but before she left, she gave Viggo a cold glare, and headed out. Once she leaves, both Moana and Aliikai glared at Viggo.
"Ah, finally meeting the mysterious chief with a Night Fury of her own, you've been helping Hiccup with all those dragon rescues." Viggo spoke calmly with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
Moana was not fazed by this, "What's the real plan, Viggo?" She questions him seriously, wanting to know his real purpose.
"Cutting to the chase I see? I would tell you...if you tell me your name and where I am."
"Why should I tell you?" Moana asked sarcastically, "I know for a fact that you'll try to use this as an excuse to find a way to escape off the island."
"Impressive observation, my dear, but sadly. I cannot leave your island, for I was blindfolded against my will and tied up. Before being dragged into this prison on your island."
"What's your point?" Moana questions him dead serious.
"My point is, I would like to know where I am." Viggo said calmly, "Your land is not familiar with the archipelago, a rare sight to behold if I say."
"Then don't." Moana said in a serious tone. "Our home is a safe haven for dragons, saving them from hunters like you. That's all you need to know." Moana turns and leaves, but not before Viggo says to her.
"You and Hiccup need my help one day."
Moana stopped, but didn't turn to him, "I doubt it." She mutters as she and Aliikai leave the cave, leaving the Keahi warriors and their dragons on guard.
Once Moana and Aliikai were out, they were greeted by the sight of Blackwell and his mate, Elektra. The two Striker class dragons went towards the girls in full concern.
"Are you girls alright?" Blackwell asked in concern.
"Did that hunter do anything to you?" Elektra asked next.
"Blackwell, Elektra, we're fine, Viggo didn't do anything on us." Moana said, assuring the two adult dragons with gentle pats.
"Don't be so sure, that human is a cunning one. He was the reason why me and Elektra were captured in the first place. I do not wish you nor Aliikai near that human, understand?" Blackwell said, sounding like an order.
"Blackwell, we understand what Viggo did to you and Elektra, but we need to know his plans about Project Shell Fire." Aliikai said to him. "I don't want his brother Ryker, finding our home, and destroying everything that we built. A sanctuary for dragons to live in peace...I don't want it all to be gone in vain."
Blackwell wasn't sure as Elektra gently nudged him, causing Blackwell to look at his mate, "I do not wish for this human to be here, but Aliika is right. His brother should never find this paradise, they have to stop him."
Blackwell sighs, wanting to protest, but agrees, "I only wish that they should not go near him, but if it means for the safety of our kind and younglings, he must be stopped. But I want you both to be safe. And keep your guard up, understand?"
Both Aliikai and Moana nodded their heads. "We understand, Blackwell, don't worry." Moana assures the male Night Fury.
As both Blackwell and Elektra leave, Moana sighs with worry as she looks at her dragon, "I'm worried about our friend, Ali. I hope they're okay." She said softly to Aliikai.
"I hope so as well, Moana, but they are strong. I know they will pull through." Aliikai assures Moana.
"I hope so too, Ali." Moana said softly. Praying to the gods to help their friends.
Later that night, the people of Motunui Were going to bed with their dragons. The Keahi Clan would have shifts to watch Viggo from time to time. Making sure that this dragon hunter doesn't escape. Maui and Mistral left for the Norse Region to check on the riders, hoping to see if they were okay. Moana was instructing some Keahi warriors to protect the dragons, just in case Viggo tries to escape. They can't risk getting hurt by him. As Moana and Aliikai finished helping with the storage in the cave, Shocker came with Gil on his back, both looking in alarm.
"Moana! Aliikai! Maui and Mistral are here with the Dragon Riders! And they need help."
Hearing this, Moana quickly got on Aliikai before they followed Gil and Shocker to the cliffside, where they saw the dragon riders, Heather, and Dagur there with their dragons. They looked tired and stressed as if something had happened. They weren't alone, they had a baby Eruptodon with them. Coral was busy fawning over the baby dragon, who enjoyed her attention, as Shocker and Aliikai landed. Moana gets off her dragon and goes to the group. Relief was all over her face.
"Hiccup! What happened?!" Moana asked in concern.
"Ryker did." Hiccup said in a serious tone. "We learned that Project Shell Fire isn't a ship or a dragon. It's both! He's weaponized a dragon, a huge dragon! That's why it's so hard to find and defend against."
"Did you try and follow after them?" Maui asked Hiccup.
"It was too fast and too deep for us to follow." Hiccup said to them, "The Hunters are under those hatches, allowing them to travel so easily, but we don't know which direction it's headed or where it's gonna come up."
"It already attacked the Defenders of the Wing's Island, Berk, and Berserker Island." Lani said, worried about their friends.
"That's why we came to Motunui, to regroup and warn you about it." Astrid said to Moana.
"It's a good thing too, if Ryker somehow finds our region and island, we have to be ready for anything." Moana said to them.
"Luckily, we have a giant dragon of our own!" Coral said happily.
"Really? What kind?" Tuffnut asked stupidly, forgetting about their big, purple friend.
The Freedom Bringers and the rest of the Dragon Riders let out groans or face palmed. Clearly understanding that Tuffnut forgot about Bigby. Moana sighs and looks at Tuffnut, "We're talking about Big Daddy?"
"Who?" Tuff asked.
"You called?" A deep growl came.
"AAAAHHHH!" Tuff screamed as he jumped into Tara's arms, terrified when Bigby the Purple Death Suddenly appeared behind them on the cliff, which surprised how he could sneak up on them due to his massive size.
Ignoring Tuffnut, Moana made her way to Bigby, "Big Daddy, we need your help."
Bigby looks at Moana, "Of course, what do you need?"
"Do you know about the Shellfire?" Moana asked.
Bigby made a small rumble, asking Nasir to translate, so the ones who can't understand dragons, as he explains about the dragon. "I do, I know all Tidal Class Dragons, and the Shellfire, well...I know that dragon species anywhere. Like me, it is a gigantic Titan Wing deep-sea dragon. It can launch huge flaming boulders that explode like giant cannonballs."
Cayden nodded his head in agreement, letting Malie translate, "Many Vikings of the distant past would mistake the Shellfire's massive shell for a landmass and would wreck their ships on it."
"So...the Shellfire is a giant Titan Wing deep-sea dragon that somehow was captured by the hunters. And it is used as a weapon of some kind? Did I get that right?" Tara asked the two wise dragons, who nodded their heads.
"In a way, yes." Bigby said to Tara.
"But how did the dragon hunters get such a dragon?" Fishlegs asked.
Cayden was the one to answer, "We don't know how they got the Shellfire. But I fear that if Ryker somehow controls it, no one is safe." Cayden said in a warning tone.
"Oh, no..." Malie whispers in shock, worried about Lani and their friends.
"Is there a way to stop the Shellfire? I mean, we dealt with bigger threats like that before."Lani said to the two dragons.
"Well, there is a way to stop it." Cayden said to the group while being translated by Malie. "Shellfire isn't the only giant sea dragon, Bigby can take him down easily. But the natural enemy of the Shellfire is the Submaripper."
"Wait, so possibly, Tilly and Beau can take him down, right?" Hiccup asked curiously.
Tilly and Beau lived within the deep waters of their region. Thanks to Dragon Riders and Freedom Bringers, the two Submaripper Dragons became mates for life. Living together in peace and would go out unless they are called for help from their friends. And when the time was right, the two Submarippers planned on having younglings someday.
"So, to defeat this Shellfire, we need Bigby, Tilly, and Beau, right?" Gil asked, looking at the group, "Is that our next move?"
"I don't know. We don't know what Ryker's plan is. And the only way to know is that we need Viggo's help, or Ryker and the Dragon Eye could be gone for good." Hiccup said to the group.
"What?!" Tara exclaims, dropping Tuffnut onto the ground, who lets out a yelp and groans when made contact with the ground, "You can't be serious?! That guy is nothing more than a slimy, shallow, power-hungry human! He would care less to help us in this situation!"
"Yeah!" Snotlout said in agreement, "What do you think Viggo's going to do? Walk in here and turn himself in?"
Fishlegs gave a blank look, "Not helping, Snotlout."
"Maybe Ryker will give us more time?" Astrid suggested.
Tara scoffed, "Ryker's worse than his brother! He would never give anyone time!"
"She's right, I know Ryker is not as cunning as Viggo, but he's smart." Malie said, agreeing with Tara, "And are you sure we should trust that man?"
Hiccup sighs as he looks at them, "It's a long shot, but we need to do it, even if it means taking a risk."
Moana and her friends weren't sure if it was a good idea. They knew Viggo was cunning and manipulative. But he does know more about his brother and Project Shell Fire. And more importantly, they need to do this fast before anyone else gets hurt. So, with a sigh, Moana gave a nod of approval.
"Fine, but don't make me regret this, Hiccup." Moana said with concern in her voice.
Soon afterwards, Moana and Aliikai brought Hiccup and Toothless to the holding cell; they were greeted by the guards as they entered the cave. There, they see Viggo, enjoying his meal that was given to him by one of the guards. Viggo then spotted Hiccup coming towards him and gave a simple look.
"Ah...I see you finally came, Hiccup." Viggo said to him calmly, "Come here for my assistance? I hope you didn't think I'd leave you hanging in the wind. I'm nothing if not a man of my word, Hiccup. Let me guess, Ryker told you that I was the one who went rogue. I figured as much. Probably offered you peace and the Dragon Eye, neither of which he is either willing or able to give."
Hiccup gave him a suspicious look, "Oh, and you are?"
"As I said, my dear Hiccup, you help me stop my brother and I'll give you what you desire." Viggo said to him calmly.
"Which is exactly what he said. Almost to the word."
"But he conveniently couldn't produce it, could he?"
Hiccup narrowed his eyes at him. "But you can." No response from the hunter, "Yeah, that's just what I...thought." Hiccup trailed off as he and Moana watched in shock as Viggo produced the Dragon Eye. Moana stared in shock. Her people removed all his weapons. How could they miss the Dragon Eye like that!?
Viggo was amused at the sight as she showed them the Dragon Eye, "Now, when will Ryker be arriving?" He asked them, catching them off guard.
Hiccup stammered a bit but replied, "Uh, in the morning."
Viggo nodded his head, "Rest assured. The Shell Fire will be with him. Uh-un, whatever we're going to do, Hiccup, we must do it together." Viggo said seriously, watching as Hiccup was hesitant when he brought the Dragon Eye through the bars.
Moana placed her hand on his shoulder, "Be careful, Hiccup, it could be a trap." Moana whispers to him while both Night Furies growled at them.
"I know, but we have no choice." Hiccup whispers back as he turns back to Viggo and hesitantly accepts the Dragon Eye.
And thus, a truce was made.
They headed back to the Dragon's Edge, where they would prepare for battle. Even though they didn't like the fact that Viggo is with them. They had no choice. The Dragon Riders and Freedom Bringers are debating over what to do with Viggo. Astrid and Fishlegs along with the Freedom Bringers don't trust him one bit, but Ruff and Tuff say he'd "be fun to hang out with." which annoyed them. But they had to prepare for battle. Moana had sent Coral and Gil to search for Tilly and Beau. Bigby came along to assist the Freedom Bringers in battle. Much to surprise to Viggo since he never knew that they could tame a Purple Death. But in any case, Viggo knew that they have an advantage now since the Purple Death is the strongest of all Tidal Class Dragons. He then warned them that Ryker and the Dragon Hunters would be coming soon, and he needed them.
And his prediction came true, Ruff and Tuff report a fleet of ships heading their way, led by Ryker. Hiccup rounds up the rest of the Riders along with the Freedom Bringers, Heather, and Dagur. They planned everything out, finding a way to stop Ryker for good. And soon, the battle commences. When the Shellfire attacked, the Dragon Riders were ready, at first. The Dragon Hunters thought they had the advantage, until the arrival of Bigby. The massive Purple Death lets out a deafening roar that could shatter the earth itself. The Dragon Hunters panicked at the sight, especially the Shellfire. It may be a Titan Class, but it knows not to mess with a real Alpha Class dragon. Bugby releases a powerful wave of highly explosive fire at the ships that were coming their way. The Shellfire wanted to escape, but couldn't, due to the hunters that were trying to force it to fight. The Shellfire was about to let loose an attack until something tackled it.
It was Beau the Submaripper.
Coral and Gil found him and Tilly just in time. They were having their morning swim when they spotted Gil and Coral. They knew that they needed their help, so they came along with no questions asked. That, and because they have a bone to pick with the hunters. Soon, Tilly joined the fight, tackling the Shellfire from the side, disorienting it for a bit and capsizing some hunters in the process.
"Don't you dare leave this ship! You stay and fight like Hunters! Come back here! Do you hear me?!" Ryker yelled to the hunters, holding on to the handlebar of the ship.
Fearing for its life, the Shellfire releases a blast at Beau, who dodge, as the blast destroys a hunter's ship, almost obliterating Hiccup, Toothless, and Viggo, who was riding with them.
"Hiccup!" Lani called out to his friend.
Luckily, they were not harmed. But Hiccup knew that it was dangerous with an extra passenger. And they have to destroy the rest of the ships. "Okay. That was way too close. Viggo, I need to drop you on the beach. You're slowing us down."
Viggo snorts a bit, "Pity. I was going to enjoy watching Ryker go down with the ship."
"Yeah, yeah, just keep your end of the bargain!" Lani said as Sandstorm continued attacking the remaining ships.
As the Dragon Riders and Freedom Bringers destroyed the remaining boats, while Bigby destroyed the rest of the fleet. Allowing the two Submarippers to fight off the Shellfire with no problem. The Hunters couldn't stand a chance against them. Before the Shellfire could attack, Beau tackles it, causing the chains that were attaching the vessel broke, and it falls to the water, with Ryker holding on with his dear life, yelling out in anger.
"VVVIIIIGGGGOOOOO!"
Ryker crashes to the sea as both of the Submarippers go down and open their massive jaws to create the mother of all whirlpools, swallowing the entire ships of the Dragon Hunters, ending the battle for good. The Shellfire saw this and quickly swam away, not wanting to be in the waterfall. But as it was stopped by Bigby, who was glaring at him. With him were Moana and Aliikai, both sisters in bond knew that this dragon was a prisoner and needed to be somewhere safe. Bigby knew this very well that his humans wanted the best for this dragon. So, with a heavy sigh, the Purple Death nudged his head in a certain direction.
"Come on, we're leaving." Bigby said to the Shellfire, who looked at him in confusion.
"Wh-What?"
Bigby looked at him and said, "What? Do I have to repeat myself? I said come one, we're leaving."
"T...to where?" The Shellfire asked in confusion.
"A safe haven, far from Vikings." Bigby said to the Shellfire, both massive dragons leaving as the whirlpool sank all the fleet.
"O. M. Thor!" Tuff exclaimed in amazement as he and his sister were riding their dragon to watch the destruction unfold. "The Submarippers. Submaripper-ama."
Ruffnut grins happily, "Hate the smell. Love the dragon." She said as their dragons, Barf and Belch, fly off, leaving the ships to go down at the sea as they drown at the Submarippers' whirlpool.
Once the task is done, Moana and the others regroup to the sky, while Tilly and Beau resurface. "Tilly, Beau! Follow Big Daddy! Will meet you all after we check on the Edge!" Moana called out to them, who both roared and swam away. The rest of the Dragon Riders and Freedom Bringers regroup at the volcano, where they witness Hiccup and Astrid sharing a kiss. They were shocked and happy to realize that Hiccup and Astrid are now dating. Lani smiles at his friend, happy to see that they are finally together, and hoping that he would one day do the same with Malie.
"This..." Snotlout began, eyes widened in shock.
"Changes..." Fishlegs added with a smile.
"Everything!" Ruffnut cheered happily, finishing the sentence.
"Wait, does this mean you're not dying?" Tuffnut asked in confusion.
Lani looked at him in confusion, "Wha-NO! They weren't dying, Tuff!"
Hearing this good news, the riders rushed over to the newly dated couple into a hug.
"Bring it in for the real one, Hiccup." Tuffnut cheered as he and the others hugged him and Astrid. Smiling, the Freedom Bringers joined in the hug, happy for both Hiccup and Astrid. As they let go, Hiccup smiles at his friends and allies with joy in his eyes.
"Okay, gang. Once more around the island. Let's make sure the Edge is secure." Hiccup said before looking at the Freedom Bringers, "You guys are staying?"
"You know it, there are still dragons that need to be rescued." Moana said happily.
"Yeah! Let's do this!" Tara cheered as she turned into her Lycanwing form while Maui turned into his giant hawk form. As the Riders and Freedom Bringers headed towards their dragons, Snotlout went over to Hiccup.
"Hiccup, I was thinking I might have a way to help with this gambling problem." Snotlout said, confusing both Hiccup and Astrid in the process, "Now, it's gonna take some time. There's like, I don't know, 10 to 12 steps, I'll finish it but..."
"For the last time, what are you guys talking about?" Hiccup asked his friend in confusion and amusement.
"I'll tell you after we finish checking on the Edge." Lani said with a smile.
"Hiccup," Nasir spoke, causing Hiccup to look at him, "What happened to Viggo? He disappeared after we defeated Ryker and the hunters."
Hiccup was silent at first, glancing back towards the volcano with a solemn look, "He's no longer a threat to us." He said softly to his friends.
Soon, they all took off to the sky, cheering happily in the process. But as they fly around the island to survey the damage, the volcano suddenly erupts.
