Hello, Stargate fans!
I'm sorry for the delay, had a setback at the beginning of the new school year, but now I hope everything is back on track. To celebrate October, here is a new chapter. A little one, I know, but it's a little interlude for the next one - and that one will be interesting.
Enjoy!
Chapter 12: Episode 4x06
He was running. He hadn't run in a while. Not like he was at least. And she was winning. How could a five foot three woman out run him? He was getting old. That was it.
"C'mon, oldman." Alexandra approached him with a big smile. Then her eyes turned serious. "John, are you okay?"
"I'm... fine." And he set off running.
"Oh, we're on, flyboy." She set off running after him, hearing him laugh.
They got at the same time at the gym area.
"Still up for a spar?" Alexandra took a gulp of her water, watching him closely as she took a step closer.
"Yeah. Let's do it." He breathed deep. His hazel eyes scanning her for a brief moment as he approached upon her words. There was something about her... something that, since their last mission, have made his curiosity spike. Especially with all the briefings she had with Samantha Carter days after.
"Are you sure? You look like you're about to faint." He heard her say.
At that, John tripped her and caught her right before she landed on her back. She laughed as he looked down on her.
"Not so old after all, uh?" The pilot smirked and then felt his feet slip and next thing he knew he was on his back with one of her kneels at his side.
"I don't know about that, Sheppard."
He made a movement and flipped her into his position, with him on top this time.
"Can this even be considered sparing?" John raised his brow, not taking his eyes from her brown ones. Then she did something he wasn't expecting.
"A different kind of sparing, perhaps." Alexandra knew what she was doing, when her hand went up his arm, following a path to his abdomen. She could see John watch her. His too hazel eyes getting confused, then softened, following some kind of movement. "What do you think, John?" Her voice was low and when she felt him relax that's when she flipped him, with her on top and her fingers in his carotid.
"Oh, you're good." He grinned, barely noticing where his hands were.
"You're just too easy, Sheppard." Alexandra shrugged, lifting herself off him. She shook the sudden feeling it had arouse in her upon the feeling of his hands on the bare skin of her waist.
[Dr. O'Neill.] At the sound of her radio, Alexandra went quickly towards her bag.
"Go ahead, lieutenant."
[Dr. Bishop requires your assistance on MS-904.]
"Give me 15. I'll be there." She turned to John, who was in the middle of the room, waiting. "I have to go. Hydrate, Sheppard. You look awful." She threw him a water bottle that he caught easily. However, his eyes haven't left her for a moment.
"Another run when you come back, doc?"
"Maybe. Have a good day." Alexandra said, retreating from the room. In her mind, she was thankful for the interruption.
Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down. It was just banter. She couldn't deny he was an attractive man, but that was it. Who was she kidding anyway? She was a hurricane of a mess for any man.
Seeing her go, John frowned. His hands held onto the bottle, still tingling from the warmth of her skin.
Hazel eyes opened slowly. They looked around and stopped on the chair next to his bed. Reading a book, there she was.
"Hey, doc." John groaned.
Brown eyes looked up and closed the book as she stood.
"Hey, oldman. Keller told me you've been on and off."
"Worried about me, O'Neill?" His eyes were being difficult to focus but he could see a crease of worry between her eyes.
"Naah…" Then, she turned serious. "Teyla told me what happened. You've been the hardest to recover. Three days to wake up. You got us all worried."
"That's sweet."
Alexandra rolled her eyes, sitting on his bed.
"I won't be this sweet in our sparing session. So, don't get used to it, Sheppard."
"I wonder if you were like this with Mitchell." John teased, even though he shouldn't. He knew she still suffered, for whatever reason they had split.
"No. I was worse. So much worse. And he was no near baby as you are." She teased back. She was going to continue, but a nurse came to check on his vitals and left after a few minutes. "At least you have sweet nurses to counter my mean ways."
"That is true. They are nothing like you."
"Good." The scientist looked at her watch. "I have to go. You should get your beauty sleep. All the girls are missing you." She winked, playfully.
"Hum... hot date?" Did he actually wanted to know?
"Wouldn't you like to know? Get better, John. I need my sparring partner back."
"I'll do my best." He groaned softly.
She gave him one final smile and left.
The pilot eyes followed her movements and stayed at the exit of the infirmary until he fell asleep once more.
To say she had been scared was to say the least. Upon knowing what had happened in Atlantis, she felt powerless to help for the firs time in a very long time. And seeing John Sheppard lying on a bed unconscious was an eye opening.
Whatever she was feeling towards the man was dangerous. Why him? Why now? Why? Only attraction and friendship. That was it. It had only to be it. Or else she would be screwed.
Just a small interaction. Hope you all enjoyed it.
