Chapter 5 - Jailbreak.
We're now at the Naval Fortress and inside a huge man is sitting in front of the window enjoying the view of the town while smoking.
?: "I am great! He said boastfully
Marnie soldier: "Yes sir!" You certainly are, sir! You're the great captain Morgan, sir! He said in agreement
Morgan: "Then why are the tributes from the peasants…ahem towns folk getting smaller!?" He asked
Marine soldier: "Yes sir, regarding your tributes…I believe the townspeople's wallets aren't very deep these days, sir! He said slightly nervous
Morgan: "It's not a question of how much they can pay…It's a question of their respect for me!" He informed him
Helmeppo was running down the hall huffing and sobbing as he ran to his fathers office, when he made it to the door he slammed it open in anger.
Helmeppo: "Daddy!" He said furiously
Morgan and the soldier stared at him in surprise and were curious about what he wanted if he came running in causing this much commotion over it.
Helmeppo: "There's someone I want you to kill and I want it done now!
Kenneth, Matthew and Rika made it to Naval Fortress, and were surprised to see that nothing happened yet as they looked around in confusion.
Matthew: "Well this is a surprise, nothing going on I don't even hear any guns going off or anything like that, usually this would be the time that Luffy would get himself in some kind of trouble." He said in surprise
Kenneth decided to pretend he didn't hear that.
Kenneth: "I guess he didn't make it here yet, might as well do what we can before anything else happens." He replied
Rika: "Does anyone have any idea how to get in without guards seeing us?"
Matthew: "We could just walk in there through the gate when they're done with their shift." He asked
Kenneth: "I don't think that will work Matthew, if they're done with their shift two others will show up to take over the shift." He answered
But then Kenneth came up with an idea and had a mischievous grin.
Kenneth: "Got an idea, how about we go do something to make the marines arrest us, so we can get in." He said with a grin still on his face.
Rika: "Or we could sneak in through that open window." She said as she pointed to the window.
Kenneth's grin disappeared after she told them that, Rika raised an eyebrow and gave him a smug smile.
Rika: "You didn't think of that did you." She said with sarcasm
Kenneth's eyebrow twitched in annoyance and embarrassment.
Kenneth: "Let's just get in there and help get Zoro out before he gets executed." He said slightly irritated
After they got the window open Kenneth helped Rika inside and gave Matthew a boost and Kenneth, well lets just say Matthew and Rika struggled to get him through the window.
Once they made it inside, they carefully and quietly opened the room door a little, Kenneth peeked his head through the creaked door to see if there were any Marines in the hallway. He looked both ways and saw that the coast is clear, he motioned for Matthew and RIka to follow him, as they left the empty room and walked down the hallway the trio decided to talk to each other on what they should do next.
Matthew: "Okay, now what?" He asked
Kenneth: "First we have to find Zoro's swords before we break him out." He responded
Rika: "Do you know where they might be?" He asked
Kenneth thought about it for a moment.
Kenneth: "Well, I don't know exactly where his swords are but I do remember right before they took him away that Helmeppo took his swords from him, so if anyone knows where his swords are it's him.
Matthew scratched the back of his head in thought and realized something.
Matthew: "Not a bad idea, but how are we gonna find him?" He questioned
Before Kenneth could say anything, he felt a firm hand on his shoulder which made Kenneth tense up a bit. Matthew looked a little pale at being caught and Rika was shaking like a leaf realizing that they were busted at the sight of the Marine soldier towering over Kenneth.
A few moments later.
Kenneth, Matthew and Rika were being escorted up a flight of stairs by a marine soldier as they almost made their way to the top, they started to hear people at the top that sounded like they were pulling something heavy and they heard someone shouting at men.
Morgan: "That's it, just a little more. I want everyone in town to see my greatness." He yelled
Kenneth was the first to make it to the top and when he made it he sat on his butt and was panting heavily to catch his breath.
Kenneth: "That was too many stairs..huff, huff…..But we made it finally." He said exhaustingly happy
Matthew: "I don't see what you complaining about, this is doing good for my legs." He said with enthusiasm
Kenneth shot him a glare.
In a few seconds Rika and the soldier have caught up with the boys; the kids soon notice a huge man ordering the marines to pull a large statue of himself.
Morgan: "That's it, stop right there! Now stand it up, in one final pull!" He ordered
Matthew: "Why the heck does this guy have all of his men pull up a statue of himself?" He thought with deadpan expression
Helmeppo walked up behind his father with an annoyed expression.
Helmeppo: "Well Dad are you gonna get revenge on this guy are what, I mean just out right struck me in public. You never hit me before, why should he be able to?" He spoke
Morgan: "Do you have any remote idea as to why I never hit you, well?" He questioned his son
Helmeppo: "Uh, is it because you think I'm great?" He answered
Morgan: "No. it's because…"
Wham!
Morgan quickly punched Helmeppo causing him to crash into the roof's barricade.
Morgan: "You're a stupid fool. Who isn't even worth hitting." He declared placing a hand on his ax-hand.
Morgan: "I don't want you to get the wrong idea." He growled as he stepped closer to his son.
Helmeppo screamed as Morgan lifted him up with his ax hand.
Morgan: "The only great one around here is the man you call your father." He dropped his son on the ground.
It was then Morgan noticed the three kids and looked to the Marine soldier there with.
Morgan: "Will you explain to me why you have three children with you?" He asked
Soldier: "Sir, I found these three sneaking around marine inside, I thought it was best to bring them to you. Sir." He answered.
Morgan shot glare at the kids, which made Rika and Kenneth start to sweat buckets.
Morgan: "That reminds me, I heard a couple of rats snuck into the crucifixion yard." He asked
Helmeppo: "Yes! That's right, it was those two, the little girl and the teenager. He answered quickly.
Morgan: "Why weren't they killed? He asked.
Helmeppo: "W-why should I do that there just kids. He stated.
Kenneth and Rika turned pale and looked at Morgan with complete despair.
Morgan: "You there! Kill those two right there!" He ordered pointing at one of his marines.
Marine: "But, sir! You can't be serious! They're just children, sir!" He argued.
Morgan: "I don't care if they're children or not! Anyone who disobeys my orders is a traitor!" He declared as he started to advance toward the marine.
Marine: "No, sir… I can't do it!" He uttered
Morgan, angered that one of his own men is disobeying him, held up his ax hand. He struck the marine down with it as the soldier fell on the ground lifeless.
Marines: "Lieutenant!" Two marines called in worry for their downed officer.
Helmeppo: "You…You killed him!?" He yelled in frightful surprise.
Morgan: "My strength is what I used to rise to the rank of Captain! Listen, in this world, titles are what matter! That means that being the Captain of this base and the highest-ranking officer, I am the most superior person as far as the eye can see! This means that I do everything right! Am I correct, men!" He asked
Marines: "Sir! You are correct, sir!" They said as they quickly saluted
Morgan: "Let's put killing the kids on hold for now, observe, the greatest symbol of my unending authority, it took years to complete, but here it is! Now, stand it up! Display my greatness at the top of this base for all to see!" He ordered
Luffy: "That's weird, there's nobody here, where did everyone go?" He wondered.
Luffy: "Oh well, I gotta find this Morgan guy's stupid son and get Zoro's sword back for him, but if I'm gonna do that I have to find a way first. He said as looked around
Luffy looked from side to side to check if he could spot an open window but then he heard noise coming from the very top of the base.
Morgan: "Pull men! Harder! He ordered.
While pulling, one of the marines pulling the right arm of the statue accidentally bumped the arm against the building.
Morgan: "You there. You bumped it" He said as he was right behind the marine who let out a short yell of fear.
Luffy: "Sounds like something's going on up there?" He wondered looking up.
Luffy took a closer look and saw that they were picking up a huge stone statue with ropes.
The marine that accidentally bumped the statue stared fearfully at Captain Morgan.
Marine: "I-I'm sorry, sir! I was reckless, I didn't mean it!" He declared.
Morgan glared at the marine menacingly.
Morgan: "I consider the slightest scratch on this… NOTHING LESS THAN A TRAITOROUS ACTIVITY THAT IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH!" He shouted
Kenneth: "Why, cause your nuts." He mumbled.
Rika and Matthew quietly chuckled to themselves at what Kenneth said.
Luffy smiled as he internally made his decision.
Luffy: "Might as well check it out. Gum-Gum…" He exclaimed as his arms stretched far enough to reach toward the building and managed to grab it.
Luffy: "Rocket!" He yelled as he was sent flying through the air to the top of the building.
Morgan was about to kill the marine for almost damaging his prized statue as Luffy went right past the top of the building as everyone present saw him pretty much flying in the sky.
Luffy: "Dang it, I flew too far!" He screamed
Luffy latched onto one of the ropes that were attached to Morgan's statue.
Luffy: "Phew, that was close." He said in relief
In doing so, the statue fell on the edge of the building. The top half of the statue split apart when colliding with the building's edge. The marines were doing their best to keep the statues top half steady but were unable to, causing it to fall to the ground below as Luffy landed on the building. This scenes caused Captain Morgan's eyes to go white in shock seeing his prized statue immediately break apart.
Luffy: "Oops, sorry about that. He stated softly
Kenneth: "Wow, no amount of ice coffee is gonna help you with that dumbass! He insulted
Morgan: "SEIZE THEM AND HOLD THEM SO I CAN KILL THEM MYSELF!" He ordered his marines
Marines: "Yes sir! Right away!" They replied
Helmeppo: "That's him! That's the guy that punched me, Daddy!"
Luffy: "Oh, I guess coming up here wasn't a bad idea after all, I found just the guy I was looking for." He said looking at his predicament with a positive view.
But then, Luffy noticed Kenneth, Matthew and Rika were up here as well and was surprised to see them.
Luffy: "How did you guys get up here, you know what, never mind just hurry up and let's get out of here and this guy is coming with me." He said as he wrapped an arm around Helmeppo's neck and then ran into the base.
Luffy: "You have something that I really need to get back." He said as he dragged Morgan's son with him as Matthew, Kenneth and Rika ran beside Luffy inside of the base.
Marines: "Helmeppo!" They yelled
Morgan: " Don't let them escape! He ordered
Marine: "Captain there's someone in the crucifixion yard!" He informed
Morgan's attention was brought to the yard as he saw Coby running toward Zoro.
Morgan: "I'm surrounded by traitors." He said in anger
While all this was going on there was a certain duo that were quietly sneaking around inside the marine base, just as they were about to start searching a couple of marine soldier's ran down the hallway beside them but luckily they hid before they were seen.
Red head: "Someones rocking the boat." she said in annoyance
Blonde: "Nami, we're just gonna have to find another way around." He told her.
The girl named Nami nodded in agreement as they ran away.
Kenneth, Matthew, Rika and Luffy, who was dragging a screaming Helmeppo across the floor, were running through the base. Neither of them knew where they were going as the base felt like a maze to them.
Matthew: "Looks like now would be a good time to ask where the swords are, Luffy?" He asked.
Luffy: "Right. Okay, so tell me where Zoro's sword is?" He asked Helmeppo who was still fearfully shouting.
Helmeppo: "I'll tell you! I promise! Just please stop dragging me across the carpet!" He yelled
The gang stopped running and stared at the rattled, blonde man.
Kenneth: "So, where are they? He asked as soon as they stopped running.
Helmeppo: "In my room, we just passed it. Behind you on the left." He said as he pointed the direction toward his room
Rika: "Just great, now we have to go all the way back." She noted
As they turned around Kenneth was about to say something until a marine along with two others pointed their rifles at the gang.
Marine #1: "Don't move!" He shouted
Marine #2: "Except for letting Helmeppo go!" He yelled
Luffy: "No way, but you can try shooting us if you want!" He mentioned as he held Helmeppo out in front of himself using him like he was a human shield.
Matthew: "You know, if you're gonna point a gun at me…" He rolled his eyes as he popped out a few boney stubs from his hands as he balled his hands into fist. "You better be ready for a fight."
He ran at the Marines as they aimed their guns at him. They never got a chance to fire as Matthew punched them in the face as hard as he could, which made them fall to the ground unconscious. Kenneth stared at Matthew in surprise as he watched Matthew retract the stubs back inside his hands.
Luffy: "Nice one, Matthew." He grinned
Kenneth: "Whoa Matthew, you can use your bones as a weapon?" He said in complete shock.
Matthew: "Yeah and a whole lot more, but you'll have to wait until next time." He said calmly as they went to catch up with Luffy and Rika.
Back in the crucifixion yard.
Zoro: "That maniac's gonna kill you for what you're doing right now!" He warned as Coby was doing his best to untie Zoro's restraints as quickly as he could.
Coby: "I can't stand to watch the Marines behave like this anymore, a true Marine should be honorable!" He told him
Zoro: "Look, kid! I can't leave, I have 10 days left! And then they're…"
Coby: "Well, not quite, They're gonna execute you tomorrow." He stated
Zoro: "They're what!?" He asked in surprise.
Coby: "Helmeppo never intended to honor your agreement, he planned on killing you from the start. Which made Luffy really angry, so he just knocked him out." He informed.
Zoro: "He did..?" He exclaimed, astonished.
Coby: "Now that the Marines are mad they're dead set on catching Luffy." He said nervously
He gave Zoro a nervous smile.
Coby: "Don't worry, I'm not gonna ask you to become a pirate though."He said as he resumed trying to loosen the restraints.
Coby: "But I hope you'll help them. You have a lot of strength you can offer."
Morgan: "End of the line!" He announced as he appeared with a group of Marines with him.
The soldiers all pointed their guns at Coby and Zoro.
Morgan: "For the crime of treason against me… I sentence you all to die where you stand!" He yelled.
Coby: "Ah!" He screamed in fear.
Zoro had a look of dread on his face.
With Luffy, Matthew, Kenneth & Rika…
Luffy is still holding onto Helmeppo as he walks in the blonde man's room as the others follow him inside. Helmeppo's room was interesting if someone had to put it in their own way.
Kenneth: "This room really does tell me what world he lives in." He said as stares around the room with a weirded out expression.
Matthew placed both of his hands on his hips as he looked around.
Matthew: "Well, at least we know he's a fan of pink." He stated as he nodded to himself.
Helmeppo was telling the truth that Zoro's swords were in his room and were just placed in the corner.
Luffy: "Bingo!" He said seeing the swords.
Rika: "There they are." She said happily.
The two walked up to the swords as Luffy seemed confused.
Luffy: "Hold on, there are three here?" He wondered.
Luffy: "Hey, weirdo? Which one of these is Zoro's? He asked Helmeppo.
But the blonde seemed to be out of it to answer him with how much Luffy was manhandling him.
Luffy: "I guess he passed out." He figured
Rika: "All three of them are his." She stated.
Luffy: "Really? Does he seriously use all three?" He questioned.
Kenneth: "Yeah." He nodded.
Kenneth: "He had them all when I first saw him, so yeah, these are all Zoro's swords."
Kenneth grabbed all three of the swords.
Kenneth: "We got the swords, so now I think would be a good time to get out of here." He suggested.
The gang gave Kenne a nod and Luffy looked out the window and saw what was happening outside.
Luffy: "Coby!" He yelled
The Marines aimed their rifles, staring down their targets, Zoro and Coby who was crying tears, afraid that he was going to die.
Morgan: "You've been pulling some interesting moves around here! Some kind of poorly executed coup! Take aim!" He ordered
Zoro: "No! I can't afford to die here!"
The others see this going down and are on the verge of panicking.
Matthew: "Luffy, if you're about to do something, better do it fast, they're about to mow the two of them down out there." He suggested.
Luffy: "I'm on it!" He replied.
Luffy smiled as he grabbed a hold of the window.
Luffy: "Gum-Gum…"
He took a few steps back.
Luffy: "Rocket!" He yelled as he then launched himself out the window.
Morgan: "Fire!" he ordered
The marines fired at them but Luffy showed up and quickly shielded Zoro and Coby from the bullets that were fired.
Zoro: "What!?" He shouted.
Coby: "LUFFY, NO!" He yelled in worry.
But there was nothing to worry about as the bullets seemed to stretch Luffy's body. The Marines were confused as to how it was possible for Luffy to still be alive with all the bullets that hit him and how they were making his body stretch.
Luffy: "SEE YA!" He yelled with a toothy grin.
Luffy flexed out and sent the bullets flying in another direction, one flew past Morgan's head. Luffy laughed in victory.
Luffy: "That won't work on me! Told you I was strong!" He bragged.
Zoro: "What the-!? Who the hell are you?" He said with wide eyes.
Luffy: "My names Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!" He introduced.
Zoro: "You're gonna be King of the Pirates!? Right? You must be completely out of your rubbery mind. Do you have any idea what that means?" He asked unbelievingly
Luffy: "King of the Pirates means King of the Pirates, how can it mean anything other than that?" He claimed.
Matthew: "Trust me Zoro, it surprised me at first when he told me. But I guess he's serious about it." He said as he, Kenneth and Rika arrived with all three of Zoro's swords.
Coby: "Yeah, when he first told me it was shocking but he's completely serious! That's how he is, I suppose. Cause he actually seems to have every intention of becoming King of the Pirates and obtaining the worlds ultimate treasure, the one piece!" He Proclaimed with a big smile.
Luffy only chuckled in response since everything Coby just said was right on the money.
Rika stared at Luffy in awe and in complete surprise.
Rika: "Is this true big bro, you really going after the one piece." She asked with glee.
Luffy smiled at her and gave her a nod.
Kenneth stares at everyone in confusion, he has heard about the one piece and where to find it, but no one has ever told him about someone becoming king of the pirates.
He placed a hand on Matthews shoulder and whispered in his ear.
Kenneth: "Hey Matthew, what's a pirate king?" He whispered.
Matthew's eyes widened a little as he looked at Kenneth.
Matthew: "No one told you?" He asked
Kenneth shook his head in response.
Matthew's eyes went back to normal as he gave Kenneth a smirk and patted him on the back.
Matthew: "Don't worry, I'll tell you once we're done here." He said reassuringly
Kenne gave him a nod as he handed all of Zoro's swords to Luffy.
Kenneth: "We got your swords." He stated walking up.
Luffy: "Yep, do you really use three swords?" He asked
Zoro: "All of them belong to me, I use Santoryu. The three sword style." He answered
Kenneth: "I guess everybody around here's got a different style when it comes to how they fight. I wonder if I'll find a style of my own, cause I don't think I'll do completely well in physical combat." He thought, reminiscing about the last time he tried to fight hand to hand.
Luffy: "Take them already, just so you know if you fight with me now you'll be an enemy to the navy. Either that or you're left here and killed by the Marines."
Zoro: "What are you, the son of the devil? It doesn't matter, cause if I don't choose your side, I'll just end up dead on these sticks. So let's do it." He finally agreed to join Luffy's pirate crew.
Luffy: "So you're finally gonna join my crew, awesome! Now let's get you out of here. He said as he tried to untie the ropes.
Luffy turned his head to face Kenneth and looked at him curiously as he finished untying the ropes on Zoro.
Kenneth: "Why are you staring at me like that?" He asked, feeling a little uncomfortable.
Luffy snapped out of his train of thought and shook his head a little.
Luffy: "Sorry about that, I was contemplating on whether or not I should ask you to join my crew." He said with a smile.
Kenneth looked at him in surprise.
Kenneth: "Are you serious, you want me to join your crew Luffy?" He asked
Luffy: "Yeah, I think you would be a good addition to the crew if you want to come." He replied
Kenneth thought about it for a little bit and wasn't too sure about it.
Kenneth: "Tell you what, after we're done here I'll think about it and I'll give you my answer before you leave, deal?" He asked as he extended his hand towards him.
Luffy gave Kenne a toothy grin as he took his hand and glady shook it.
Luffy: "Deal." He said happily.
Rika was standing aside Matthew and after seeing Kenneth and Luffy made a deal on whether or not Kenneth would join Luffy's crew, she started to feel sad as looked at the ground knowing Kenneth would sail off and go with Luffy without her. Because Rika always dreamed about leaving home and sailing off across the seas, to see the world and make new friends. She wished she could go with them, but she realized that she's too young and inexperienced and that she might slow them down if she went with them.
Luffy: "Now would be a good time, since you're fighting against Marines, you'll be considered a criminal! And with Kenneth and Matthew joining the crew it'll be more fun than ever!" He said happily
Kenneth gave Luffy an annoyed expression.
Kenneth: "There's one problem with that, I never agreed on joining Luffy!" He said slightly annoyed
Luffy: "Just kidding, I'm waiting on your answer, I just wanted to mess with you." he said as stuck his tongue out at him.
Kenneth had a tick mark appear on the back of his head as Zoro stretched his arm from being tied up for so long. But Kenneth had one question on his mind.
Kenneth: "How was Luffy able to deflect all of those bullets when they shot him?" He thought curiously.
Little did Kenneth know that he wasn't the only one surprised by Luffy's ability.
The Marines were still astonished when Luffy somehow managed to send the bullets flying away from him. They've never seen anything like the power of someone who had a Devil fruit or even heard of them.
Marine #1: "What is he?" He asked.
Marine #2: "Bullets just fly right off him?" He said in complete shock.
Kenneth was close enough to hear the Marines, so he will find out what a Devil fruit is sooner than he thinks.
Morgan: "Straw hat's no ordinary human like the rest of us, He must've eaten one of those Devil Fruits that we've heard all those rumors about. The Devil who have eaten them are said to gain extraordinary power, otherworldly abilities." "The power to breath fire, the power to cause tsunamis, rumors persist that there are many types of these fruits but next to nothing is known about them. It is said that the secrets to them lie somewhere in the Grand Line. And there's no question about it, the straw hat has just shown us his Devil power!" He explained.
After Kenneth had heard Morgan shed some light on what Devil Fruits were, he stared at Luffy in shock.
Kenneth: "There are fruits like that in this world and it looks like Luffy ate one of them, I wonder if I'll find o-" (Cough, cough, cough, cough.)
Once he stopped coughing, he inhaled some air, but when he exhaled, several bubbles came out of his mouth. Which surprised Kenneth and the others.
Rika: "Kenneth, it's glowing again." She said pointing at his back.
Kenneth looks at his back and sees markind appear again with a faint white glow and it catches the attention of the others, once his back stopped glowing he rolled up the back of shirt to see the black tattoo that looked like cloud ocean waves
(Flashback)
One night back in Kenneth's room, He and Rika were playing a board game. And in the middle of them playing, Kenneth's back began to glow blue, the kids stared at Kenneth's back as he rolled up his shirt and saw the exact black tattoo appeared on his back. But then it disappeared, leaving them to wonder what happened to it, but they decided to keep it to themselves and figure it out later.
(flashback over)
The gang stared at Kenneth's back in surprise and shock as they looked at it.
Luffy: "Kenne, since when did you have a tattoo." He said curiously as he took a closer look.
Kenneth: "I don't, I'm just as surprised as you guys." He stated.
Rika: "It disappeared the last time you had that, maybe it'll go away." She said, trying to relieve the situation.
Zoro: "That tattoo looks strikingly familiar for some reason." He thought suspiciously.
Morgan: "It doesn't matter what abilities you have! All who oppose me are executed! If guns won't work we CHOOOOOOOOOP! He exclaimed as he ordered his men to charge at Luffy and the other four.
Matthew: "Here they come." He said dryly.
Coby squeaked in fear as Rika got behind Kenneth while Luffy and Matthew got into their fighting stance, until Zoro stood in front of the group as he eyed the incoming Marines.
Leaving Luffy and the others a little confused about what he's doing.
Zoro: "Give me my swords." He demanded not turning his head to look at them
Luffy: "Coming right up!" He shouted as he tossed all of Zoro's swords at him.
The Marines closed in on them fast but Zoro was much faster as he was able to knock five of the Marines soldiers out and block all the swords from Morgan's Marines, two katana in each hand and the third one with the white handle was in his mouth.
Morgan: "Roronoa Zoro." He uttered out.
Coby, Kenneth, Luffy, Matthew and Rika were all amazed by Zoro's speed, strength and skill.
Luffy: "Whoa, that was awesome!" He expressed excitedly.
Matthew: "I'll say." He said in agreement
Kenneth: "I think it's impressive that he can hold one in his teeth like that. Bro how strong is your jaw?" He asked.
Zoro: "Make one move and you die." He warned.
The Marines became fearful from his terrifying glare and only cried.
Zoro: "Today, I officially became a criminal having fought the Marines, so I'll become a Pirate, that I can promise you. But I want you to know one thing? While I'm with you the only thing I dedicate myself to is fulfilling my ambition." He stated.
Luffy: "Which is?" He asked
Zoro: "To be nothing less than World's Greatest Swordsman, If somewhere along the way I have to give that up, then I want you to accept responsibility. After which, you apologize to me." He vowed.
Luffy: "The World's Greatest Swordsman, sounds good to me. The King of the Pirates wouldn't want anyone less but the best on his crew. He stated.
Zoro: "Big talker, from this point on, no matter if I'm a criminal or not, I will spread the name Zoro throughout the world." He said while smiling.
Matthew: "Wow, Kenneth, those two have some pretty big goals they want to accomplish." He said smiling.
Kenneth nodded in response.
Morgan: "What are you standing there frozen for, I want you to kill all 6 of them right now!" He shouted at his Marines.
Matthew: "I got this, Zoro you might want to duck!" He warned.
Matthew extended his arms towards the Marines as white circular tip started to appear from the tip of his fingers.
Matthew: "Corpus-Corpus Bullets!" He yelled.
Matthew fired the projectiles at all of the Marines at once, knocking them all back as they all hit the ground.
Zoro: "So, you can use your bones as weapons, not bad." He complimented.
Matthew: "Thanks, I don't want to brag, but my bone bullets are faster than any bullet." He boasts.
Zoro: "Really, that's funny because my swords are usually faster than bullets." He said with a smug grin.
Matthew quipped an eyebrow towards Zoro.
The Marines Matthew had knocked back were all not down for the count yet.
Luffy: "Guys, duck!" He warned Matthew and Zoro.
Luffy: "Gum-Gum Whip
Luffy reeled his leg back as it stretched and he swung right at the Marines. Zoro and Matthew ducked under Luffy's leg and knocked away all of the Marines. They went flying backward and landed on the ground much to Morgan's shock.
Coby: "Yes, you knocked 'em all down." He cheered.
Zoro: "You wanna tell me what you two are?" He asked
Luffy: "I'm just a guy who ate the Gum-Gum Fruit and he ate the Corpus-Corpus Fruit!" He announced while he gestured to Matthew.
Zoro: "What's a Corpus-Corpus or Gum-Gum Fruit?" He asked in confusion.
Matthew: "It means with Corpus-Corpus Fruit I can manipulate any part of my body, any way I see fit. And Luffy over here, his body is entirely made of rubber so he can stretch his body parts. Am I right luffy!" He asked.
Luffy: "That's right!" He replied, giving Matthew a thumbs up while grinning.
Marine #6: "A rubber person and a Corpus person.
Marine #5: "Captain, we don't stand a chance against them!"
Marine #4: "Yeah, just look at them! They're insane!"
Marine #9: "We couldn't even take on Zoro by himself!"
Morgan: "This is a direct order, every Marine that just spouted weakness, pull your gun out and shoot yourself! I can't do anything with weak soldiers!" He said in irritation.
Zoro: "What babies, this'll be easy. He declared.
Kenneth: "Guess we're gonna get out of here alive, after all. He said with a relieved smile.
Matthew and Kenneth got ready to fight as Luffy immediately headed toward Morgan.
Coby: "Luffy, bring those Marines crumbling to their knees!" He yelled.
Luffy threw a punch at Morgan, as the captain blocked it with the flat of his ax. Morgan threw his coat off as it was time to get serious.
Morgan: "Rankless, low-life bum! You have no right to defy my superiority! I am Marine captain ax-hand Morgan! He Shouted.
Luffy: "And I'm Luffy, nice to meetcha." He stated.
Morgan with a roar jumped at Luffy to slice at him with his ax-hand. Luffy hopped over the attack as he got behind him. Morgan turned around and made a downward attack causing Luffy to jump out of the way and Morgan's ax making a huge crevice in the ground. While in the air Luffy kicked Morgan in the face with both feet. From the attack, Morgan rolled on the ground into a crouch.
Marine #9: "Look, he's been hit."
The Marines were surprised to see their feared Marine captain had taken a hit from an attack.
Morgan: "You runt! Now die!" He growled
Luffy roared as he jumped toward Morgan to attack. Morgan slammed his ax down as Luffy jumped and spun himself in the air to avoid the attack.
Luffy: "I don't think so!" He remarked.
And then followed up with a kick into Morgan's face.
Marine #9: "The captain's getting pummeled out there."
Marine #1: "It's embarrassing!"
Luffy: "You call yourself a Marine! But you destroyed my friend Coby's dream!" He said as he grabbed Morgan by the shirt.
Luffy punched the captain across the face and went to strike him a second time.
Helmeppo: "Straw hat! Stop right there! Look what I've got!" He yelled
Luffy didn't listen and didn't notice since he was too busy beating Morgan to even notice Helmeppo was holding Coby at gunpoint.
Helmeppo: "Are you stupid or something! I said stop, if you pay attention to me, I have a hostage you might wanna look at!" He warned.
Marine #2: "Helmppo's crazy! He commented.
Zoro: "Hey." He said getting Luffy's attention.
Rika: "Big brother, you might wanna see this." She stated.
Luffy: "Hmm?" He looked up and saw what was happening.
Helmeppo: "If you value your scrawny, little friends life you won't move a muscle, I'm serious, one move and I'll shoot him, I swear!" He warned.
Luffy only had a blank stare as Coby seemed a little scared by the situation right now but the pink-haired knew he had to keep a brave face.
Coby: Luffy, listen! Don't let anything that happens to me stop you, no matter what!? He yelled.
Luffy: "You got it!" "You hear that, you big idiot?" Coby is ready to die by your hand." Luffy had an arm up as he slowly approached Coby and Helmeppo.
Helmeppo: "Don't you move." "I said don't move or I'll shoot!" He shouted.
Luffy was about to get ready to knock Helmeppo's lights out but then he saw something that made stop what he was about to do and just smile.
Morgan had finally gotten up, standing behind Luffy and was holding his ax-hand up to bring it down on the straw hat.
Coby: "Luffy!" He yelled worriedly.
Luffy: "You moron, I don't have to attack you, cause Kenneth will do it." He said with a smug grin.
He wasn't even worried that Morgan was behind him, getting ready to attack with his ax.
Morgan: "Times up! For I am fearless Marine captain Ax-hand Morgan!" He Announced.
Zoro placed his katana from the white scabbard in his mouth.
Helmeppo was a little confused by what Luffy just said until he noticed that Kenneth was not standing in front of RIka and someone tapped him on his shoulder, he turned his head around to see who it was only to get punched in the face by none other Kenneth, who knocked Helmeppo out, rendering him unconscious.
Morgan's ax-hand stopped half-way onto Luffy's head. Luffy was only grinning as Zoro had slashed Morgan across the body. The captain fell over on his back, unconscious just like his son.
Luffy: "Thanks." He said to Zoro.
Zoro: "I'm just doing my job, Captain. He said with a smirk.
Kenneth: "That felt good." He sighed as he rubbed his right hand from the punch.
Matthew took a look at Helmeppo's unconscious body to see how hard Kenneth punched him.
Matthew: "First punch out?" He asked.
Kenneth: "Yep." He said with slight strain.
Rika walked over to Coby and extended her hand to him.
Rika: "You okay, Coby? Can you stand?" She asked.
Coby: "Y-Yeah, thanks Rika." He said as he took Rika's hand, standing back up.
Rika: "You were really brave, Coby, I wish I could've done something to help." She said feeling useless.
Kenneth: "Rika, you're not worthless, you made sure no one got killed, you helped us find Zoro's swords and you made sure you didn't get hurt. You're not useless." He said with a smile.
What Kenneth said made Rika feel a little better, but it didn't stop her from feeling like she's a burden.
Marine #10: "Captain Morgan's been beaten!"
Marine #9: "Unbelievable!"
Marine #6: "Those guys are unreal!"
Zoro: "If there's anyone who wants to step forward and fight us, then do it now." He stated to the Marines.
The soldiers all stared at each other and then cheered and danced and threw there swords, rifles, and hats into the air in celebration. Their tyrant of a captain had been defeated which now meant they didn't have to fear being executed by him.
Luffy: "Hmph, well I'll be." He commented.
Coby: "They must've been afraid of him for a long time before we showed up!" He said enthusiastically.
Kenneth, Matthew and Rika nod in agreement.
Luffy: "Let them celebrate, they've probably been waiting for something like this to happen." He said with a shrug.
Luffy: "Hey, Kenneth?"
Kenneth turned to face Luffy.
Kenneth: "Is he gonna ask me to join his crew, again?" He thought in slight annoyance.
Luffy: "I just wanted to say thanks, me and Matthew couldn't have rescued Zoro without your help," He mentioned.
Kenneth gave Luffy a smile and a nod.
Kenneth: "Thanks." He said happily.
Kenneth: "Should I go with them and sail around the or join the Marines." He thought with a frown.
Kenneth wasn't entirely sure about his answer yet but he doesn't have to answer Luffy's question now cause Zoro groaned from a few feet away and fell over on his back, most likely from not eating.
Rika: "Zoro!" She screamed in worry.
Coby: "Are you okay, what's wrong!?" He asked worriedly
Zoro: "I'm just… hungry…" He said breathing heavily.
Meanwhile back inside the Marine base, Nami watched her partner knock out a couple of Marines with no effort at all.
Nami: "Wow Tyler, you really have improved on martial arts since three years ago." She complimented.
Tyler: "Thanks, but you got to admit for Marine soldiers that want to uphold justice, you think they would train harder. He applied.
Nami and Tyler went inside the office to look for a certain chart they were after. Tyler looked through the shelves while Nami searched through the desk.
Tyler: "Hey Nami, did you find anything." He asked
Nami let out a sigh.
Nami: "No, I can't find the sucker anywhere." She says as she looks around the desk drawer.
But then she saw something behind a couple of barrels.
Nami: "Tyler, can you give me a hand here?" She asked
Tyler gave her a nod and moved the barrels out of the way for her only to find a safe, much to Nami's pleasure. She opened it to find what looked to be a chart.
Nami: "That's it, a chart of the Grand line, I knew they were hiding it." She said with a smile.
She took the chart from the safe and unrolled it only to find out it's not a chart but a note that had a jolly roger on it that said. "I've flashily taken the map! Buggy."
Nami: "Hold on, this isn't a map, what mark is that?" She said in confusion.
Tyler: "So it's Buggy huh, also known on the seas, as Buggy the immortal." He said in astonishment.
Nami and Tyler looked at each other and nodded.
Back with Kenneth and the others.
The gang made it back to the tavern and walked into a worried Ririka and an angry Micheal but then their mood changed to surprise and shock as they see Zoro being held up by Luffy and Kenneth with Rika and Coby getting the Doors for them and Matthew was holding on to Zoro's swords for him.
Kenneth: "H-Hey, we're home." He said nervously.
It didn't take long for word to go round about what happened at the Marine base, soon everyone made their way to the tavern to see the heroes that took down Morgan. Before word had gotten out, Kenneth explained everything to Ririka and Micheal.
Zoro: "I am stuffed! Having not eaten for three weeks I was ready to gnaw through my bootstraps!" He cheered as he patted his stomach.
Ririka and Rika were quick to prepare food for Zoro cause he went half a month without any food. Ririka, Rika and Coby chuckled at Zoro while Kenneth and Matthew just quietly snickered to themselves.
Luffy: "Heh, I can't believe you're finished, light-weight." He remarked with his mouth full of food.
Zoro: "How the hell can you have a bigger appetite than a guy who hasn't eaten in weeks?" He asked.
Luffy: "I have a body like rubber, plus the food tastes too good." He stated.
Luffy: "Am I right Coby?" He asked.
No
Coby: "Y-Yeah, it's great, thanks for fixing it for us." He said to Ririka.
Ririka: "My pleasure, after all, you all did save the town." She Declared.
It didn't take long for her to notice that Micheal and Kenneth aren't in the building.
Ririka: "By the way, have any of you seen Kenneth and Micheal." She asked in concern.
Rika: "Kenneth said he wants to talk to Micheal somewhere private." She answered.
Zoro raised an eyebrow.
Zoro: "Are you sure it's okay to leave Kenneth with a Marine?" He asked.
RIka gave him a nod.
Ririka: "I wouldn't worry, he's an old friend of mine, so I'm sure he'll be fine." She said confirmed.
Kenneth and Micheal are in Kenneth's bed and after Kenneth showed him the tattoo on his back, Micheal knew exactly why he had it and explained it to Kenneth.
Micheal: "I know why you have that tattoo." He said with a confident smile.
Kenneth: "You do?" He asked curiously.
Micheal: "Yep, you're not an ordinary human, you're a ruin user." He said casually.
Kenneth: "I'm a what?!" He said in complete surprise.
