It's the day after Fairy Tail found themselves in New York city, fought Surtur's Fire Demons with the Avengers and met the Masters of the Mystic Arts.
Currently the guild are back on their island while Doctor Strange has woken up and now occupies the Chamber of Shadows. The Sorcerer Supreme floats midair in a meditative position, in front of him is a golden three curved legged display case. The lid is also floating, revealing a shining ball of light that illuminates the room.
This was the mystical relic known as the Orb of Agamotto. A scrying tool used to search across the planet and even other dimensions. Shifting projections of other dimensions appear in the darkness of the Chamber of Shadows.
Strange continues to search dimension after dimension, dedicated to finding one he had sworn to locate.
Earthland.
The Sorcerer Supreme sighs and the images of other dimensions fade into the darkness, the Orb of Agamotto now covered. Strange portals into the main hall of the Sanctum Sanctorum and massages his eyes.
"Rough night?"
Strange turns to see Wong walk up to him, both now saunter through the main hall.
"You could say that," Strange replies.
"Guess you did the predictable thing and stayed up all night searching for Earthland to the point of exhaustion?" Wong states with a cocked eyebrow.
"If you already know the answer, why ask?" Strange says in a somewhat curt tone.
"I take it from your tone that you were unable to locate Earthland?" Wong asks, his comrade remaining in silence. "That's what I thought. Hope our new friends can appreciate the effort regardless."
"I'm sorry, I had a bit of a strange night," admits Strange.
"When don't you?" Wong snipes, making Strange roll his eyes. "I take it this is related to the strange presence in your room last night?"
"You knew about that and didn't drop by?" Strange asks.
"What you do in your own time is your business," Wong raises his hand flippantly. "Also I know better than to go to your room during nightfall. I don't want to bear witness to another one of your late night activities."
Strange's face lightly heats up at the implication and he shakes his head of his dalliances with the supernatural.
"Well you needn't worry about any funny business, this one is technically too young for me," the Sorcerer Supreme deadpans.
Wong raised his eyebrows in curiosity, listening intently as Strange describes his encounter with Fairy Tail's First Master; Mavis Vermillion.
Mavis stood before Doctor Strange, her ethereal body shining in the dark of the room.
"So either you're the ghost who roams these walls which I thought we got rid of," Strange mused which made Mavis giggle. "Or you're telling the truth and somehow you are actually of Fairy Tail."
Mavis continues to giggle, "I know it all sounds strange."
"Well stranger things have happened in my line of work," Strange admitted. "A prepubescent child who claims to once be in charge of a Wizard guild that mysteriously wound up in my reality. That's just strange enough for me to believe it."
"...I'm actually a hundred and eleven. Not prepubescent," Mavis muttered.
"Apologizes. So I'm guessing since you're clearly not of the living, this is a form you're comfortable in?"
Strange notices the First Master of Fairy Tail's face shift to a somber expression. He immediately recognises it as a face of regret, pain and suffering.
She gulped and turned her head back at Strange, "That's a long story and we have other things to talk about."
Strange nods in agreement and doesn't press any further, "Let's talk about how and why you're here?"
Mavis relays her tale to the Sorcerer Supreme. Beginning how a hundred years ago she established Fairy Tail. How Tenrou Island was where she was born and made in her guild's sacred ground where her spirit now resides.
Which was how she knew her guild was in trouble when Acnologia terrorized them. Converting their strong bonds of friendship into magic power, she casted one of Three Great Fairy Magics; Fairy Sphere.
An absolute defensive spell that can protect against any evil.
"Impressive spell," Strange complimented. "Now tell me how it brought your 'sacred ground' to this reality?"
Mavis is silent as she fiddles with her fingers. She mumbled something unintelligible.
"Pardon?" Strange inquired.
"...I don't know?" Mavis revealed with a nervous smile, making Strange cock an eyebrow. "I remember casting the spell and the blast hitting us. After that I was somehow knocked unconscious like everyone else, and when I came to; we were here."
Strange examined the spirit in front of him and even without the Eye of Agamotto, he could detect no lies being told. That took the youthful spirit off the list of potential candidates behind this mess.
"Well if you're here I have to ask why you didn't make your presence known to your guild? Don't you think they should know who saved them?"
Mavis shook her head, "I would have done that but those ugly fire monsters burned those plans. Then you kidnapped my guild and it took a while before I could find you guys."
Strange shrugged, "Well now that we have all that out of the way. Tomorrow we can-"
Mavis cuts Strange off, "Actually this is where I'm taking off."
That stunned the Sorcerer to the point of comic shock.
"Pardon?"
Mavis giggled, "There's a whole world for me to explore out there. I'm gonna go see it."
"What about your guild?" Strange snapped.
"They aren't going anywhere soon and I trust they're in safe hands with you and your compatriots," Mavis stated. "That being said, please keep this to yourself until I get back. Byyyyyyeeee!"
Strange watched exasperated as the First Master of Fairy Tail flew out of the Sanctum and into the night sky.
Strange finally finishes his recount of last night with the same exasperated expression.
Wong tries to stifle a laugh, "She just took off?"
Strange rubs his eyes in frustration, "Like Peter Pan going to the Second Star to the Right."
"Well at least we know how Fairy Tail survived that dragon attack," Wong muses.
"But we still don't know how to find Earthland," Strange deprecatingly notes.
That causes Wong to stop walking and Strange halts to look back and sees his fellow Sorcerer give him a pointed look.
"Stephen, why are you so determined to find Earthland?"
The Sorcerer Supreme takes a few moments to think of an answer and releases a sigh.
It was no use trying to trick Wong.
"I had a premonition," the former Surgeon reveals, making Wong raise an eyebrow. "The day before that island arrived, I had a bad feeling that I couldn't shake off. Then when that island appeared, I had a sense of foreboding. Like its presence is a sign of things to come?"
Wong takes a moment before speaking, "So you think Fairy Tail are only going to bring trouble?"
Strange groans, "I don't know how but I just know that I need to keep an eye on them. They may not be dangerous but we still don't know how they were brought to this world. And that puts me on edge."
Wong takes a moment to process his comrade's grievings. In a sense, the Sorcerer Supreme had a point. Fairy Tail were an anomaly that were best kept under observation. With how many powerful beings there are in the Universe, who knows which one could have been behind this.
The stout Sorcerer inquires, "Stephen. You don't think any of the beings we've encountered could be behind this? Or at least, any you've encountered."
Strange was expecting Wong to insinuate who has been plaguing his mind since his premonition. Both he and Wong have encountered their fair share of magical entities, demons and Gods but there was only one the Sorcerer Supreme has encountered alone.
His flaming head still haunts his dreams.
The goateed Sorcerer shoves away his growing unease to answer, "We can't rule anything out." Strange begins his saunter through the hall as Wong follows while listening to his friend speak, "In time all the answers we seek, will be revealed to us."
Wong is about to speak until both Sorcerers sense a presence approaching the Sanctum Sanctorum. More specifically three presences, already outside the door and they did not need to knock as Strange waves his hands to open a golden portal.
In less than a second, Captain America, Iron Man and Wasp are summoned before the two Sorcerers. Much to the Super Soldier's astonishment.
"You two weren't not kidding," Cap states, the sudden change of scenery momentarily stunning him.
"I know right, the portal thing catches me off guard too," Wasp admits. "I'm beginning to think you guys don't know how to open a door?"
"Where's the fun in that?" Strange jokes, though he rubs his hands beneath his gloves. Remembering how difficult it was for him to do something as simple as opening a door.
"Welcome back to the Sanctum Sanctorum," Wong cordially greets.
"First time for me," Cap states as he takes in the Sorcerers before him. "When I heard New York had wizards, I was picturing more Gandalf the White."
"Sorcerers," Strange corrects.
"But you flatter us with the comparison Captain," Wong adds.
Iron Man and Wasp however are flabbergasted.
Captain America knew Lord of the Rings well enough to reference it?
Wasp whispers to the Armored Avenger, "Did he just make a reference?"
Iron Man, brought to the brink of dramatic tears, chokes out, "I'm proud of him."
"So I assume that this isn't a social visit?" Wong states with a coy tone.
"It is but not for you two," Iron Man said. "We can't seem to find the gargantuan island that appeared in our lives since last night and figured you two must have done something about that?"
Strange nods, "You'd be correct. We had to take measures so that New York's new… visitors were left undisturbed from prying eyes."
"We need that kind of security for the Mansion," Wasp whispers to herself.
Captain America states, "Well if it's all the same. We want to check up on our new friends. See how they're doing?"
"Also make sure they're not back in those cages?" Iron Man quips.
"I can send you into one, if you want to go check?" Strange quips back to Iron Man's chagrin.
"...Just take us to the island?"
Strange hums and waves his hand, sending the five of them straight to Tenrou Island. Landing on the rocky terrain, the treeline where the guild made camp in sight.
"I don't think I'm ever gonna get used to that," Wasp complains, mostly to herself.
A loud noise catches all of their attention and another one soon follows. Before they knew it, loud noises echoed through the island and smoke was within eyesight.
"That can't be good," Wasp said with a worried tone, shrinking down and fluttering in the air.
"Invaders?" Captain America questions as everyone makes their way to the source of the conflict with great haste.
"Not possible, we would know if anyone else broke through the cloaking spell," Strange explains.
"Well your security needs a few tweaks," Iron Man cracks.
The five of them make their way to where Fairy Tail made camp and what they saw, shocks them.
There was indeed a fight going on.
But there were no invaders.
Fairy Tail were fighting each other?
"IS THAT ALL YOU GOT, ICE STRIPPER!"
"SHUT UP, FLAME BRAIN!"
Natsu and Gray were exchanging feral punches with neither of them giving up. Amongst them was the rest of Fairy Tail, in a giant dust cloud, attacking one another.
All except five of them.
"Morning."
The Avengers and the Masters of the Mystic Arts turn to see Makarov, Lucy, Wendy, Carla, Happy, Levy, Laxus and Gildarts sitting off to the side. The guild master, nonchalant to the chaos unfolding.
"Makarov, what's going on?!" Cap loudly inquires over the noise.
"Why is everyone psycho?!" Wasp exclaims.
Makarov, still nonchalant, explains, "Oh this? Just a little morning tussle, nothing peculiar for our guild."
"...This is a normal thing you people do?" Strange asks incredulously.
"Yeah our guild is a bit on the rambunctious side," Lucy admits while scratching the back of her head.
"Aye," Happy said with a tired tone.
The Avengers and Sorcerers look at each other, completely flabbergasted. All of them are thinking the same thing.
"WHAT DID WE GET OURSELVES INTO?!"
Wasp sputters, "How did this even start?!"
Wendy answers, "Well Natsu was cooking the fish he caught and burned them."
"Then Gray made a schoolyard taunt and before we knew it, this became our morning," Carla finishes.
"That's it? Even the Hulk wouldn't even get worked up about that?" Iron Man comments.
"You're not concerned that they'll get hurt?" Cap inquires Makarov who laughs.
"Please my children are tougher than they look. It's all in good spirit!"
"Even so, shouldn't you be stopping this?"
Gildarts answers this time, "Come on, let the kids blow off some steam. They deserve it."
"A bit uncouth isn't it?" Strange states.
"Your buddy doesn't think so," Laxus nonchalantly declares, confusing the Sorcerer Supreme.
Strange and the Avengers notice Wong being absent and is in fact getting in on the action. Glee on his face as he conjures two magical mandalas in his palms.
The Sorcerer Supreme stares at his comrade with a deadpan expression.
"Wow, he seems really into it," Levy notes.
Captain America decides he had enough and whistles. When the fighting doesn't stop, he whistles again with more gusto. Which proved just as effective, the fighting continuing.
The star-spangled Avenger feels a tap on his leg and looks to see Makarov with a cheeky grin.
"Allow me."
The leader of the Avengers' eyes widen in disbelief as he witnesses the guild master of Fairy Tail growing exponentially. Iron Man also has a stunned expression beneath his mask, Strange just quirks an eyebrow and Wasp drops her mouth.
Before she closes it and her expression changes into one of indifference.
"Hmh. Hank can grow bigger," Wasp thinks to herself.
Makarov stops growing until his very stature eclipses the trees, the fighting seeming to calm down when his shadow looms over them. Though some still kept going.
"KNOCK IT OFF YOU BRATS! WE HAVE COMPANY!"
Makarov bellows, his voice carrying throughout the island and just like that, the 'morning tussle' calms down.
"Aww! Gramps I was just about to win!" Natsu heatedly complains.
"Win?! Dream on ya Pyro!" Gray incredulously exclaims and before the two can start another fight, both of their heads are smashed against each other. Courtesy of their scarlet haired comrade.
"If the Master said stop, then we stop," Erza reiterates, standing over Natsu and Gray who were knocked out.
The Avengers stare with deadpan expressions at the scene while Makarov shrinks down to his regular size. A jovial grin on his face, he pats Captain America on the leg lightly, "That's how you do it."
The star-spangled Avenger continues to have a deadpan stare.
Strange continues to stare at Wong who joins his side while dusting his robes. He attempts to stand tall to his colleague,"...I was trying to break them up."
The Sorcerer Supreme did not believe him for a second.
Wasp claps her hands together, "Okay now that we're done with Fairy Fight Club, perhaps we can all sit down and discuss things like grown ups."
"Hopefully it doesn't end with another slug fest," Iron Man remarks, making both Lucy and Wendy who were near him, nervously chuckle.
"Before we begin, can I ask how everyone is doing? I know it's been a rough time for you all," Captain America asks the guild, everyone resting at the main campsite.
"It hasn't been that rough since you left us yesterday," Makarov states. "We've made a deal with Strange and Wong, we'll remain here on our island for the foreseeable future. In exchange we'll work with the Sorcerers of this world, within reason."
Iron Man takes a moment to inquire, "Are you sure you want to stay on the island? We don't know how long you guys are going to be here?"
Makarov spares a glance at the Armoured Avenger and sighs, "We may be here indefinitely but…" The Guild Master of Fairy Tail switches his gaze to his surroundings.
"This is as close to our guild that we have with us. We don't want to just pack up and leave it."
The three Avengers take in all the morose looks on the Fairies' faces and they understand. Especially Cap, who glances at his shield and knows just what it's like to want to cling with something that's close to one's heart.
"I can think of worst places to stay at. Your guild has a beautiful island…if we're not including all the giant weird animals," Wasp admits.
Gildarts laughs off the shrinking Avenger's concern, "Oh those things are harmless, they just need to be shown who's boss."
"Besides, an island like this is still a good place to stay. From my inspection, they have natural resources to eat from. More than enough room for them to not feel so cramped," Wong lists off.
"That may be so but the island was transported away from its natural climate. How will that affect the ecosystem here?" Iron Man couldn't help but ask.
Strange answers, "We've floated the idea of growing new resources here and we'll wait to see how the ecosystem fares in New York's climate."
"Let's table this discussion for now, we need to move on to other things," Cap states and the Fairies listen intently. "Thor was called back to Asgard but he sends his regards and promises to return soon."
The Fairies would be lying if they didn't admit that they weren't disappointed. The Prince of Asgard is currently the best chance they have at returning to Earthland.
"So while he's gone… what do we do now?" Lucy asks the million Jewel question that her guild has been thinking about since they found out they were on another world.
Wasp glances between her comrades who both nod at her. The Avenger energetically claps her hands together and announces, "Well we have a few ideas!"
Fairy Tail looks towards the Avengers with raised eyebrows and confusion.
"Don't look at me like that," Wasp rolls her eyes before speaking again. "I said we'll be your tour guides while you guys stay in New York. If you're up for it then we can get started."
"That sounds fun!" Wendy happily exclaims.
"Oh we can show you guys our Mansion, we can take you to all of New York's landmarks, we can-!"
Before Wasp could continue further she's stopped by Strange speaking up.
"While I'm not opposed to the idea of playing tour guide. Doing it now will be a fool's run."
"Why's that?" Wasp curtly asks, miffed at being cut off.
"You really want to send a group of Wizards from another world, who we just witnessed fight it out because of a minor insult…to New York City?"
Strange's words hang in the air and the Avengers eventually realise that introducing new travellers to a city as hectic as New York would be problematic.
Iron Man concedes, "Houdini's right. We need to ease them in."
"We also need to teach them about the world and its people. From personal experience I wish I was more prepared about the modern world," Cap states, reminiscing about his prior experience of waking up in a new world.
Wasp thinks aloud, "Now that I think about it. Pretty sure we need to teach them how to appropriately interact with the public and how to compose themselves. Don't want SHIELD to get involved because Pinky got insulted by some punk on the streets."
The name 'Pinky' got a few chuckles out of a few Fairies. The aforementioned 'Pinky' is not amused. Lucy however clamps Natsu's mouth shut before he can explode.
Fairy Tail thought it over and they eventually saw that they do need to learn a few things before being sent out to the world.
And the Avengers were just the people to teach them. Iron Man proudly sums up what everyone was thinking.
"Alright! Welcome to Avengers Boot Camp!"
HISTORY
Jan sitting on a rock while Lucy and Levy were sitting on the ground. Both listen intently to the Avenger recounting how her team was first formed.
"-then SHIELD showed up to arrest the Hulk but even with their numbers, they weren't ready to fight off the team who just defeated one of their darkest secrets. Then I named us Avengers and that's the story."
Lucy and Levy were captivated by Jan's tale and just couldn't believe it.
A day unlike any other until a myriad of supervillains escaped captivity from three high security prisons. Which led to the formation of the superhero team that dedicated themselves to capturing every single one of them.
The Avengers. Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
"Wow Jan, that's an amazing story!" Lucy compliments, giving a thumbs up. "If you need someone to write your autobiography, let me know."
"I have so many questions!" Levy exclaims, finishing writing the Avenger's story in her diary. "What caused the breakouts, can Ant-Man really control ants and is the Hulk really green?!"
Jan's face slightly saddens as she remembers her strained relationship with the other two founding members. She forces herself to brighten up and puts on a brave face.
"Yeah he wouldn't be called Ant-Man if he couldn't control ants and yes Hulk is really green. You don't want to see one in red," Jan almost bites that last word out but she composes herself. "Now let me tell you how the breakouts led to us saving Asgard!"
USE YOUR WORDS
Sam brings out his clipboard as he takes a seat on a rock. He takes a pen and starts writing while he speaks to his 'patients'.
"Now I'm not an actual therapist but I used to be a grief counsellor for veterans. That could get pretty intense so I'm the closest to qualified to tackle the… intense relationship you two share."
Both Natsu and Gray had annoyed looks on their faces as they were forced by the Avengers and Fairy Tail (mostly Erza), to attend a session with Sam. So they can work on their communication skills.
"Can you stop saying relationship, it's not like we're married!" Gray barks, which almost got Juvia from where she was if she wasn't restrained by Gajeel.
"Hah! You wish pal!" Natsu mocks.
"Alright, instead of punching each other, you guys are exchanging barbs. That's progress," Sam grins as he writes into his clipboard. "So I guess we should begin with some exercise. I want you two to list off what you like about each other."
Silence.
"...you two can't think of a single nice thing to say about each other?"
More silence.
"You guys are a part of the same guild and fought off magical supremacists together, you can't think of one good thing?"
Even more silence.
Sam nods dispassionately and snaps his fingers when he thinks of an idea, "How about we change exercises? How about we do a soul-gazing exercise. You two have to look each other in the eyes and you can't look away until you say something nice!"
Natsu and Gray didn't object as they began to gaze at each other's eyes.
This went on for a bit and they were still silent.
Sam begins to notice that the two haven't blinked once. He rolls his eyes and incredulously asks, "...are you guys just doing a staring contest?"
Gray snaps his fingers in Natsu's face, making him instinctively close his eyes.
The Ice Make Wizard jumps for victory, "Yes! I win! Suck it Natsu!"
He gets a punch in the face in response and that escalates into a full blown fight.
Sam sighs deeply and he dons an exasperated expression.
"This is gonna take a while."
TECHNOLOGY
"So this is a StarkPhone?"
Freed inspects the cellular device in his hand courtesy of Tony Stark, still in his armour but his helmet placed on a nearby rock.
"That's right buddy, that baby is decades ahead than today's Blackberry. We're almost done with production and ready for sales any day now."
Freed plays around with the holographic display, "It's almost like a communications lacrima."
Tony raises an eyebrow, "Lacrima? That's what you guys use to text and play Angry Birds?"
"I still don't understand your references but a lacrima is a magical material that can be powered by Magic for any purpose," Freed explains.
"Sounds like a valuable resource," Tony comments and gets into a thinking pose. "Is it just Magic or can any type of energy power them?" The billionaire begins thinking about how a Lacrima can hold energy from Earth, more specifically Arc Reactor Energy?
"BOO!"
"Arrgh!" Lost in his thoughts, he jumps back when he sees his helmet suddenly floating next to him. Tony regains his bearings and registers someone howling with laughter. He turns to see Bickslow behind him, clutching his stomach, his laughter dying down.
"Oh man! That was too easy."
Freed shakes his head and admonishes, "Bickslow. Let's not antagonise our new allies."
GUILDS
"At the very top of the magic world are the government and Fiore's strongest wizards, the Ten Wizard Saints. Then the Regional League of Guild Masters come second who are in charge of their respective guilds. Any wizard or guild that doesn't take part in the league, is branded as a Dark Wizard or Guild."
Mirajane finishes explaining the politics of the guild system of Fiore to Natasha. The red haired spy wanted to know more about Earthland, more specifically how guilds worked.
"So all guilds should answer to the Magic Council?" Natasha inquires which causes Mirajane to giggle.
"We should, but Fairy Tail isn't exactly in their good graces."
That made Black Widow smile and chuckle a bit, "I think your guild and the Avengers have more in common than I thought."
"How so?"
"Let me tell you about the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division…"
STORIES
"-and that's the story of how we saved Edolas," Happy finishes his story and then finishes eating his fish.
"Saving a dimension run by a fascist empire that was stealing from your dimension with help from a legion of flying talking cats?" Clint sums up, he and Happy relaxing together by the shade of the trees, "You're right; you do have some stories to tell."
"That's right and it was all thanks to me!" The blue furred Exceed states with stars in eyes, lost within his own delusion of grandeur.
"What'd you say furball?"
Happy gasps when he sees Gajeel and Lily looking down at him, the former with an incredulous expression.
"Are you forgetting that without me kicking ass, you losers would've been stuck in a dungeon while Extalia fell?!" Gajeel barks out.
"Well I…you never would've made it there if I wasn't the one flying you…let's just say it was a team effort," Happy nervously barters which did not alleviate Gajeel's irritation but got a chuckle out of Lily.
"Let's just admit we all had a part in saving Edolas," Lily suggests, patting Gajeel on the back.
"Well then I will raise your guy's story with one of my own," Clint said with a cocky grin. "Let me tell you guys how I first saved the Avengers…"
CELESTIAL SPIRITS
Lucy had finished learning about the formation of the Avengers from Jan and an abridged version of how they saved Asgard. The tale was just as riveting as the last.
Then the topic shifted to her Celestial Spirits, which Jan was highly interested in.
"So you're telling me that you can summon anything that's based on the Zodiac constellations?"
"Pretty much but how do you know that they're Zodiac constellations?" Lucy asks, which makes Jan shrug.
"Guess that's something our worlds share besides Norse mythology and surprisingly the English language. Weird."
Levy fervently writes in her diary what she is hearing, "It's amazing, maybe Thor's people weren't the only ones to have found Earthland. Maybe we had other visitors as well sharing information and culture from other worlds?"
"Other worlds?" Lucy thinks to herself and after a moment of pondering, she snaps her fingers in delight. Levy and Jan were about to ask what got her in high spirits but then saw her pull out one of her Golden Keys.
"OPEN, GATE OF THE LION! LEO!"
In a flash of light, instead of a lion like she's expecting. Jan is gobsmacked to see a handsome man in a crisp black suit and maroon tie, orange spiky hair that somehow resembles cat ears and tinted glasses over his soft hazel coloured eyes. He had an assortment of rings on his fingers and plasters on a charming smile, shooting a playful wink at Jan.
"Well hello there. It's nice to make your acquaintance Miss Wasp, Virgo told us about you Avengers and I have to say you are more radiant in person," the well dressed Celestial Spirit takes the Avenger's hand and kisses it, making her blush.
"Leo. Leo the Lion. Charmed."
Both Lucy and Levy sweatdrop while Jan continues to blush.
"Well I was expecting Lucy to summon someone a little more...hairy and a little less boy band-y."
The Lion Celestial Spirit winks again, "I get that a lot."
"Loke."
Both Jan and Loke turn to see Lucy blushing red with embarrassment making the latter chuckle.
"Oh don't be mad my sweet Lucy, you're still my number one girl," Loke shoots a wink at the Celestial Wizard's direction, making her sputter.
Jan on the other hand, shakes off her fluster and her name widens at name Lucy said. Internally thinking of someone else in mind.
"Loki?"
Levy is confused when she sees Jan's face morph from flattered to confused and when she thinks back to the recent story she heard, she figures out why.
"Oh I'm so sorry, guess it slipped our minds that our friend goes by the name of the guy you fought in Asgard. His name is Leo but he went by Loke when we met him for his own reasons, and we just keep calling him that. Hope it doesn't cause problems," Levy explains, remembering how Jan exposited about the treacherous Loki who's machinations led to the formation of the Avengers.
The Avenger absently nods while taking another look at the Celestial Spirit and smirks, "Well this Loke is certainly cuter than the other one."
Loke straightens his tie and gets down to business, "So anything I can help you ladies with?"
"Yeah, I had an idea and I need your help to do it," Lucy discloses, gaining the attention of those around her. "I was thinking that you live in the Celestial Spirit World right? And you can travel without me needing to summon you. Is it possible for us to use the Celestial Spirit World to return to Earthland?"
Jan and Levy turn to Loke with wide eyes. If what Lucy was suggesting could be done, then Fairy Tail can return home in no time at all.
Loke unfortunately had to quickly shut down Lucy's hopes, "No it's not possible. As long as my key is on this planet, I can only travel back and forth from where it is. Not to mention that time works differently in the Celestial Spirit World, a short time there is a long time on Earthland. I can try and see what I can do but I'm sorry to say that you shouldn't get your hopes up."
The Celestial Spirit regrets speaking when he sees Lucy and Levy deflate. Jan wraps her arm around the two girls and flashes them a wide smile.
"So do you have any other incredibly handsome men for Spirits or is it just Whiskers the Wonder Cat?"
Lucy smiles appreciating Jan for trying to change the subject. Soon her depression changes into mischief.
"Let me introduce you to Taurus."
MADE OF CARDBOARD
Carol was dressed in her casual clothes, letting out a yawn. Looking disinterested while her right arm was resting on a tree stump, locked with another in an arm wrestling position.
She lets out a yawn, "Had enough yet?"
Elfman is her opponent, his right arm transformed into his Iron Bull spell. Despite the transformation, he is struggling to move Ms Marvel's arm.
"COME ON ELF!" Lisanna shouts in support but to no avail as Carol just smirks and decides to end it. With one mighty push, she won the match and sent Elfman crashing into the ground.
Lisanna immediately jumps to Elfman's side, trying to see if he was okay while Carol stood and stretched her arms.
"I have to ask again, what was the purpose of arm wrestling like neanderthals?"
The high flying Avenger shifts her attention to an incredulous Evergreen who had a raised eyebrow.
"I told you, we can't promise that you guys won't see conflict while you're here so you need to learn how to gauge your strength," Carol explains. "Not all enemies are going to be supernatural fire monsters."
"What normal person would dare go against Fairy Tail?!" Evergreen questions, the possibility not even feasible.
Carol just chuckles, "You'd be surprised. The point is that not everyone on Earth is built like I am, not even some Avengers."
"So the arm wrestling?"
"I have to make it fun for me."
Evergreen looks past Carol and gazes at the defeated Elfman who still looks dazed. The giant man mutters out incoherently, "What…a manly…woman."
Carol frowns a little at that remark and Evergreen giggles.
"You're right, it is fun."
FRISBEE
Steve wanted to traverse more of the island so Juvia, Wendy and Carla offered to go with him. The four walked through the forest while conversing. The three told Captain America of their short but impactful time with the guild.
The First Avenger speaks, "So you three were a part of different guilds before Fairy Tail?"
There was an uncomfortable silence as Juvia thinks back to how she was an enemy of the guild by being in Phantom Lord. Wendy and Carla think back to the charade of Cait Shelter with a morose look.
Steve picks up on the shift in mood and says, "We don't have to talk about it, if you don't want to. We can talk about something else if you'd like?"
Taking that as an opportunity, Wendy chose to ask a question that has been on her mind since yesterday.
"How does your shield bounce around like it does, Mr America?"
Steven chuckles and takes off his shield to hand to the Sky Dragon Slayer. Wendy hesitates but sees that Steve wants her to take and she acquiesces.
"That is a shield made of vibranium, the rarest metal on Earth," Steve explains as the three inspect the shield. "Vibranium can absorb kinetic energy and due to my keen senses, I can map it out so it always returns to my hand."
Wendy has stars in her eyes as she equips the shield, almost eclipsing her arm due to her short stature, "It's like a frisbee!"
"With the way it's used, I say it's more of a discus," Carla puts in her opinion.
"Whatever it is, I would keep the shield away from Gajeel. He wouldn't think twice of eating a rare metal," Juvia voices in concern.
This all makes Steve sweatdrop and puts him on alert for Gajeel. Imagining the Iron Dragon Slayer gnawing on his shield like a dog with a piece of meat.
"I'll keep that in mind," he notes and shakes off his worries, "How about you give it a toss there Wendy."
Wendy remains unsure but a calming smile from Steve was all she needed before she tossed the shield at a tree. The vibranium shield hits it before bouncing around the area and digging itself in the ground quite a ways away from the group.
The Dragon Slayer jumps up in a panic, "Oh no! I'm sorry Mr America!"
"Nothing to worry about Wendy, it couldn't have gone far."
Steve leads the group through the bushes where his shield was shot through and soon enough they found the shield laying on the ground.
Right next to someone.
"Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!"
Wendy screams in terror as she clings on to Carla, Juvia lets out a gasp as she suddenly remembers what part of the island they were at.
Steve just gives a shocked look at the rotting corpse in front of him. He composes himself, he turns to the girls who have started to recover themselves.
"Do you know who this man is?"
Juvia answers, "Yes, he is a member of Grimoire Heart. Zancrow."
"What happened to him?" Steve inquires, giving a cursory look over the corpse, seeing no wounds or significant scars to indicate death. "How did he die? Did any one of you-?"
The Rain Woman cuts him off, "No. No one in our guild directly caused death to Grimoire Heart members." Which was true, they defeated members of the Dark Guild but they either killed themselves, their grunts were arrested by the Council or they vacated the island. "This was done by the Black Wizard Zeref. I don't know why but whatever he did to fell Zancrow, it knocked out myself and another. I don't know what happened after that."
Steve gives a nod and doesn't pry. He of all people knows the morality of whether or not to take a life. The soldier wouldn't have held anything against Fairy Tail for doing whatever it took to defend themselves against an invading force.
"Whatever this Zeref did, it's like he instantly killed him. Without so much as a fight or a scar?"
"An accurate assessment."
Steve and the girls jump back in shock at seeing Dr Strange suddenly appear right next to him.
"How did-?"
"Natsu heard a scream and I decided to investigate," the Sorcerer Supreme explains as he starts to seriously inspect the body. "Whatever this Black Wizard is capable of, it's the most putrid of Magics I've ever seen. The power to immediately snuff life out."
Strange has seen some sorcerers succumb to the temptation of Dark Magic. But this Zeref is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with, who could possibly be the source of his sense of foreboding.
"I'm going to take his body for further study and give the poor bastard a proper burial, if you don't mind," Strange informs the group as he then waves his hand and Zancrow's body disappears in a flash of light.
"You're just going to bury him? Is it wise to remove the body?" Steve inquires which made Strange give the Avenger a satiric look.
"Well as the only medical professional that can handle the craziness of treating the interdimensional corpse, I say it's within my right."
Steve just gives Strange an odd look.
"You're really a Doctor?"
Strange rolls his eyes.
ARMOURS
"So you have multiple armours as well?"
Erza and Tony were discussing their armours. The latter is interested in the former's ability to instantly change into new ones.
"I do. I tried to make them for every occasion. Cold environment, deep space travel, even made a God busting armour with some help from the King of Dwarves. One of my most personal favourites even if I had to leave it with him," Tony explains with a massive grin.
Erza has to take a moment hearing the words, 'God busting armour' but she composes herself, "That's quite impressive, you've made all of your armoury. I haven't even managed that."
"Really I had assumed by the… aesthetic of the armours I've seen you wear, they had to have been a… personal choice."
The Armoured Avenger only had a brief look at the Armoured Fairy's armours but they all seemed to rely more on…lack of a better word, her figure than practicality. Tony tried really hard to not make any lewd comments as Erza is way too young for him. Which went for the rest of the female interdimensional travellers.
"Yes I personally chose my armours wherever I travelled in my younger years. Most of my armoury was already forged and some had to be adjusted for me," Erza explains, unaware of what Tony meant.
The Avenger however couldn't help but make one more comment.
"Who made them, a thirteen year old boy in his mother's basement?"
"Huh?"
"Oh…I…Want to check out a StarkPhone?!"
USE A DOOR
"Beginning trial test 76."
Vision is currently observing Gildarts make another attempt at something he has struggled with all of his life.
CRUSH!
How to open a door.
The magical door door archway that Strange has set up, crumbles due to the destructive power of Crush Magic.
Gildarts loudly groans, hating how both Makarov and Strange were making him do this. The latter incredulous that an entire town had to reassemble itself due to the S Class Wizards clumsiness.
The door reassembles itself and Vision lets out a sigh.
"Beginning trial test 77."
DRINKING BUDDIES
Wong takes a sip of the alcohol Makarov brought with him for the S Class Trials. Wong eagerly took to the drinks brewed from another dimension, and Makarov accepted a new drinking buddy.
Both men were sitting down, watching the sky turn dark and the sun set.
A lot can happen when two men share a drink together. They tell each other their struggles, their hopes, their life stories. All while sharing advice and a good hearty laugh.
Makarov tells Wong about the origins of Fairy Tail. Wondering if fairies have tails? An eternal mystery.
Wong explained how he became a Master of the Mystic Arts while Makarov explained how he was the son of a Fairy Tail founder; Yury Dreyar. Born into the guild, he loved so much.
The topic naturally went to how Makarov became the Guild Master of Fairy Tail and things got quiet for a minute.
Makarov gives a sad smile as everything that has happened to him and his guild for the last few days sinks in.
Wong is patient and waits before Makarov tells all.
The Wizard Saint tells the Master of the Mystic Arts about Precht Gaebolg. How he was one of the founding members of Fairy Tail was its second master, his master.
For forty years he learned from the man and admired him even when he didn't always listen to him. His advice of harmony and how he led the guild to the proper path.
Then one day Precht decided to leave the role of Guild Master to himself, praising his love for his allies and the ability to believe. Things that make up the spirit of Fairy Tail and things that Precht believed would make him a great Guild Master.
That was the last he saw of his old master for 48 years. Occasionally wondering what he had gone up to, if he was okay, if he was still alive?
He got his answer two days ago when Precht Gaebolg attacked him and his former guild without a shred of mercy.
The man he knew as Master Precht was gone. Consumed by his desire to obtain the One Magic, the origin of all Magic that he believed had to be achieved through darkness. Within that darkness, Precht lost himself and became the fairy who became the devil.
Hades.
Makarov takes a big gulp of his drink as the wound he got when Hades pierced his body ached.
Wong takes in everything he heard and his heart goes out to Makarov. The feeling of someone you respected changing so much and one day having to call them your enemy.
He knew that feeling as well. Wong shares his own tale of betrayal and heartbreak when a close friend fell into darkness.
Baron Mordo.
Once he is done with his tale, both men take another sip of alcohol and gaze into the night sky with the moon on the horizon. Wounds were still sore but this night was when Makarov began to heal.
CULTURE
When the day was done, Jan suggested they show the fairies a movie of Earth's, to ease them into the planet's culture.
They argued about what to show them first. A biopic, a documentary, a movie set within New York? There were too many to choose from and it needed to be engaging for the interdimensional wizards.
Tony however won, when he just had to show Gray and Erza what he was referencing when he first met them.
"Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway."
Fairy Tail were enraptured with the animated sequence they were watching currently on the television within the Sanctum Sanctorum.
"Alright this is pretty cool!" Gray exclaims. "That lady would make an awesome Ice Make Wizard!"
"And she has the voice of an angel!" Erza adds, stars in her eyes as she was absolutely giddy watching Elsa sing her heart out.
The Avengers and Sorcerers were off to the side as they had varying degrees of charmed smiles on their faces.
"It's cute that an okay-ish Disney film is ground or in this case, ice breaking to outside observers. Adorable," Tony comments, Fairy Tail enjoying the animated film warming his hearts.
"You know, if we were to show them a Disney movie. Wouldn't Fantasia make more sense?" Clint ponders.
"Please. Fantasia is too much of an experience than a simple movie, best to ease them into it," Strange states.
"If we're going to continue the Disney route, can we show them a classic? Like Mulan?" Carol suggests.
Steve chimes in, "I'm partial to The Little Mermaid."
Jan pipes up, "They'll have plenty of time for that, though with the holidays around the corner. Christmas flicks are a must."
"We can decide later, but the next film we're showing them has to be Peter Pan right?" Sam eagerly suggests.
Natasha raises an eyebrow, "Why?"
"Hello! Tinker Bell!"
"I thought Tinker Bell was a pixie not a fairy?" Clint states with a scratch to his head.
"No she's a fairy."
"But it's called pixie dust?"
"Potato. Potahto!"
"Hey comedy duo," Jan snaps the two out of their discussion as she points to the fairies as most of them began doing something precious.
"Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway."
Most of them sang along to the song (Gajeel couldn't resist trying to show off his musical chops) and despite the song's reputation, it was sweet to hear their new friends loving it. By extension, loving a part of Earth's culture.
A solace to being stuck in another world, enjoying its culture.
They don't know how long they'll be here but with time, they'll teach them that Earth is a bad planet to get stranded on.
Even with danger around every corner.
A mugger ran down the street, a stolen purse in his left hand and gun in his right. He turns to a dark alleyway and takes a moment to breathe. He checks his surroundings and finds himself alone, happy with the silence he begins to check what was in the purse before he suddenly stops.
With the brightness of the street lamp, he saw an unidentifiable shadow moving on the sidewalk. He turns to look upwards, trying to scout who was making the shadow but found no one in his vicinity.
That made him nervous.
"Who's there! Show yourself!"
The mugger tried to act brave, his trigger finger getting itchy.
"Who are you, that spider-freak! Because I'm not afraid of bugs!"
"Are you afraid of the devil?"
Before the mugger knew what hit him, he was knocked out with a straight punch to the jaw when he turned to see who spoke to him. The last thing he saw was a red suited man, contrasting the night sky and the patches of snow on the street.
The man glares at the mugger as he hears sirens in the distance. Other than the sirens he turns to hear another mugging taking place from a couple of streets over.
Not bothering to wait for the police, he leaps away and makes it to the top of a building. Jumping into the night sky as all criminals in Hell's Kitchen should beware.
The Devil likes to play at night.

AGE
"Wait a minute! Hold up!" Cana yells in a panic, completely hysterical as Strange stares at her with a passive glance, having just delivered the bad news to the poor woman.
"I CAN'T DRINK HERE UNTIL I'M 21!"
Poor Cana.
Sorry for the wait, I swear I wanted to get this out early but things got in the way. I know the last chapter hinted that we were going to get straight to the good stuff but when I tried to write it, I got bogged down by the details of how Fairy Tail adjusted to New York.
Eventually I decided to have a bit of an interlude chapter where we got to see them unwind and take in Earth with help from the Avengers. Which was fun to write even if I had to cut some content and shorten others. The Frisbee segment was originally not even going to be that dark and was originally Cap going to explain his backstory to Gray and Juvia but I axed that because I felt too many characters were expositing. Also Wendy and Carla needed something to do.
Laxus was absent from the segments because I didn't know what to write for him. But his isolation will come to play in a future story arc.
This chapter will help set up that Fairy Tail can't really act the way that they do in Earthland as they're in a different environment and not everyone can use Magic. So I'm guessing damages aren't going to be as easy to repair and they'll have to answer to a new government without any clout to protect them. This will be a future plotpoint but it's mostly to explain why the character's aren't going to be as destructive in New York. Not to say it won't happen but they are going to try and learn restraint as the Magic Council was right about that. They'll still fight amongst themselves, just on the island. They're a work in progress.
Originally I wasn't going to include the Daredevil cameo at the end but it just came naturally. So I don't think anyone needs to guess which hero we're going to focus on in the next chapter. But the question is who will partner up with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen? Stay tuned.
Here's a question for you readers. What do you guys want from this story? I already have some team ups and storylines in mind but if you guys think an FT character should meet a MARVEL character. Tell me and I'll mull it over.
It is just me writing this, I don't really have anyone to bounce ideas off of so feedback and suggestions can help me alot when writing in the future.
Also I don't know who to talk to but if this fic gets a TV Tropes page, I will die with glee! It's a low key dream of mine to have a fic I wrote to end up on there. Which I partially didn't help with my incomplete stories but I really want it for Marvellous Fairies.
Hopefully I can power through the next chapter which may or may not be a two parter. We'll see.
Also Mavis is here and then she's not. No worries we'll see her again….sooner or later.
