S.A.M. ( Sailor Angel Moon)
Arc 1: not all as it seems, chapter 6, enter the first general of darkness Arata
It was a clear crisp autumn day, the leaves turning their beautiful red and brown and orange colors, as autumn continues to bring couples closer together, samiko was counting the days until she got her car. She already got her license to drive, she waited a long time for this. She wasn't celebrating her birthday at all. Those nightmares were becoming more and more real and powerful.
She wasn't going to mess with the natural balance of things, her friends knew not to bring up the subject of her birthday because she would get all fussy and huffy about it. She decided to visit the car garage that was building her custom made car before work
The owner smiled noticing that samiko was peaking around the corner
"I know you are there Samiko, come and see your car. She is almost complete and in time for your sixteenth birthday. I have a few details to go over with your car and by Sunday she will be roaring down tenth and juuban."
Samiko rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment and did the cutest nervous chuckle
"I know I am a pain in the butt, but I love what you have done with her. She looks amazing. I can't wait to start driving her around town and just letting my mind wander off into space as I drive, I mean drive responsibly and clear my mind.
I took three different driving courses for safety and other things, i have proven enough that I am going to be an adult soon. Sixteen is the big year for me. It just proves I am meant for bigger things in life despite who my relatives are."
The owner nodded and patted her head
"Samiko, it doesn't matter who you are related to. You are your own person at the end of the day. You may be the queen's cousin but that shouldn't stop you from living life to the best of your abilities.
I want you to seize the day, live in the moment. You only have one chance at it. I want you to listen to this quote and its meaning. To seize the day is to Those who possess willpower seize the day and actively control their destiny.
I think it's given me a boldness, it's a definite 'seize the day'. You have everything going for you and you will come out on top, I have faith that you will be a better person because of it.
You know I have been taking care of all the Tenohs cars for centuries, you are the first Tsukino who has her own car and you don't need anyone to drive you around anywhere. You have been independent since you were a child, I have seen you and your group of friends grow up better then what your cousins' friends did. You are the mature version of your cousins' friend group.
We all see great things in you, you just have to see it in yourself. You are wise beyond your years, so that's saying something."
Samiko kept rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment
"I appreciate what you said, thank you. I am just having a hard time adjusting to other things. I do have the blueprints for my motorcycle and my next car, I mean the time frame will be longer.
I was thinking my second year of college should be enough time to build them. I have been applying early and waiting for results to see which college fits me best.
I haven't heard anything yet, I am guessing all the colleges are getting swamped with the seniors of high school applying as well. I hope to hear something soon at least to see where I got accepted to. I know that I am only in middle school and will start high school in the spring.
I have been taking college courses to boost my chances of getting into a good university. I will go with the flow this time and take it easy. I will be fine, I have a great support system in my friends. Look at the time, i don't want to be late to the game arcade. I will be back after my shift from the movies. It's easy working two jobs."
She handed over the blueprints to the owner and ran out to make the crown.
Haruka and Michiru appeared out of the shadows with smiles.
The owner smiled and welcomed them over
"I hope she sees how lucky she has it and doesn't have to go through growing up alone. I have seen her and her friends grow up, it's amazing how mature this group is compared to you guys.
She will make some mistakes but she will learn from those mistakes. She just needs a push in the right direction."
Haruka chuckled at the owner
"We are working on that , she seems to be opening up to us more then Usagi and Mamoru at the moment which is good for the time being. She is stubborn for someone so young but I am guessing it's how she was raised before she moved into the crystal Tokyo palace. The car looks amazing, she chose everything to how she likes it. She has a fine taste in fast cars."
Mr. Kameda nodded with a smile
"I have been building this car since she was fourteen years old, she saved a lot of money for her part time jobs, I got started on it right away once she gave me the blueprints. This weekend is her birthday, she plans to drive it along the coast to clear her mind.
Please don't mention that I said anything about her birthday. She doesn't like talking about it. She avoids it like it's a curse or something. You only turn sixteen, eighteen and twenty one once in a lifetime. I guess her way of celebrating is roaming the earth alone to figure things out on her own and come back whenever she feels like it. I know she lives with the king and queen, she will be back around midnight because she follows the rules and doesn't want to burden her relatives.
She may come back earlier so the king and queen don't send royal forces to go find her. I have seen how her parents have treated her, they are just horrible. She always had to take care of her younger siblings. Samiko is the oldest of the seven siblings. She had to grow up fast and learn about how to be responsible.
I mean she comes from a well off family but her parents are the strictest of people i have ever seen. I think Samiko living with the king and queen will be a healthy environment for her. We both know she had it rough but she will overcome the next stages of life with the proper guidance in the right direction."
Haruka looked at her watch and nodded
"Mr. Kameda, you have our word we won't mention her birthday to anyone. I am surprised she didn't mention it to us, that girl is a wind of mystery. The car you are building for her is a beauty. She will definitely have a lot of fun driving this beauty around. We are treating her like an adult, she will come to us when the time is right or she is in serious need of advice. We are going to respect her personal space. We'll see you later Mr. Kameda. We were sent by the queen to watch over Small lady Samiko."
They walked out of Mr. Kameda's shop and walked to where Samiko was going to be for the day. They stopped by the Crown, they chuckled to themselves because it brought back memories of how they met the inner senshi. The Crown was still thriving and popular as ever even in this day and age, they walked in and sat down watching all the teenagers come in like hot cakes to play the latest games and just relax.
Samiko was working behind the counter making sure to keep an eye on things and cleaning the counter as well.
A girl who was at least a foot shorter than Samiko decided to jump on her back from behind and poked her cheek, she giggled because she knew samiko wouldn't get mad at her
"Hey to the hardest worker the crown has ever seen! You sure came in early to open up."
Samiko held her chest from a mini panic attack she was about to have and turned her around, she picked up the girl and placed her on the counter and smirked evilly
"Azumi Furuhata, what have i told you repeatedly about sneak attacking me from behind like that? You are in high school aren't you? You are like a rabbit and I am a dangerous wolf who came from the mountains. I have teeth and they wanna be used, you know."
Azumi blushed dark red and poked Samiko's forehead
"Samiko, you are such a dark romantic. You are so mature for your age. It's just fun to sneak up on you and you don't ever get mad at me. We are best friends right?"
Samiko chuckled and took Azumi off the counter to continue cleaning it
"Azumi, we are best friends. We do have a job to do before your brother comes in here and asks why we are goofing around on the job. I mean he lets us get away with a lot of things, but goofing around he wouldn't let us do that. He is a college student and works part time here, we are only filling in for him until his classes are done for the afternoon. How are your exams going anyways?"
Azumi rolled her eyes and poked Samiko's cheek playfully
"Samiko, this is the arcade we are here to have fun and mess around. My brother wouldn't care at all. My exams went very well and I am still in the top ten in my class. I have more free time on my hands. I want to talk about the new hero that keeps saving crystal Tokyo. She looks like neo queen serenity if she had brown hair and Silver eyes. She was kinda adorable but brave. She saved the city not once but twice, but who's counting? I heard from my father that it has been years since evil invaded earth, we have had peace for a while."
Samiko dropped sweat from the side of her temple, she did a nervous laugh and kept wiping the counter quickly
"Azumi, your dad is right. He probably has seen something in his lifetime and again. A new hero with brown hair and Silver eyes? She looks like Neo Queen Serenity? Whoever this brand new hero is, she did a good job saving crystal Tokyo from whatever invaded earth. Did you happen to catch the name of this new hero?"
Azumi shook her head and saw how nervous Samiko was acting
"I haven't caught her name, I hope one day soon. I have a feeling she will reappear soon. Why are you wiping the counter down as if it caught the flu or something? What are you hiding, Samiko? Do you know something about this mysterious hero?"
Samiko shook her head quickly and looked at Azumi
"I am not hiding anything, I mean we have had peace and tranquility for centuries now, for evil to invade once again makes it all too specific and coincidental. I am sure this is just a prank or someone is shooting a movie. We can't always believe and hear what we see on the news."
Michiru looked at the scene in front of her and then looked at her wife
"Small lady Samiko, she is quite the flirt isn't she? She reminds me of someone I know. Very odd. I know I shouldn't look deeply into this but I can't help it. I mean she is adorable and smart, and loves fast cars. She runs away from her problems like a normal healthy teenager. She keeps herself most of the time and loves to study. We have told her that we do see great things in her and the only way she can achieve that level of greatness is to let others in and let her guard down a bit."
Haruka knew where Michiru was going with this and dropped sweat from her temple and she had that nervous laughter
"Michiru, I swear I only have eyes for you. We have been married for centuries now. We have a perfectly normal healthy relationship and raising Hotaru with Setsuna. We both had a mission to complete, We completed it without the world being destroyed. I am sure what we saw was samiko being friendly with that girl. I mean she has her best friends and their bond is unbreakable to say the least. We have a very mature senshi in training on our hands, I seriously doubt that she wants to look for a relationship."
Azumi was sweeping up the crown from corner to corner, Samiko was restocking the prize machine because a new order of plushies came in of all types.
She saw most of them were animals and of Sailor moon with her team and video game based plushies as well. She took the clipboard and wrote down how many of each were put into the claw machine, she checked every single plushie off, she went to restock everything else in the crown.
She looked at the clock and took her lunch break which was an hour long. She made herself a sandwich and brought freshly squeezed lemonade. She sat at a booth with Azumi who had a homemade lunch and some soda.
Azumi looked at Samiko who just took a bite out of her sandwich, she put her drink down
"Samiko, do you believe in true love and that it comes in many different ways? I mean I know you are only in middle school but you are mature for your age and I want your honest opinion on it."
Samiko choked on her juice and shook her head to calm down, she gathered her thoughts on the subject
"Azumi, I believe that everyone deserves true love, peace and happiness. There are others who aren't as lucky as everyone is. I think everyone has a difference of opinion on the subject. Love does come every once in a while, when you really find that person you are meant to be with, the world will be filled with hope and endless possibilities. Did someone confess to you already?"
Azumi blushed dark red
"I have known this kid since we were in diapers, he is kind of a nerd but he plays sports. He does have a big heart. I like him a lot, we haven't spoken about winding up as a couple as we are in high school and we should be focusing on our studies.
He is cute but I haven't made a confession yet either. I want to tell him how I feel, I am just too chicken too because I don't want the friendship ruined."
Samiko nodded and took a sip of her lemonade carefully and placed the cup down
"I say go for it Azumi, what do you have to lose? You are a very smart and cute girl, any guy would be thrilled to go out with you. You should definitely go for it, not many on earth can say they found the one for them. It doesn't matter the time nor place, if it happens it happens because the feeling and mood was right.
There is this movie i watched when i was younger, it was a coming of age American classic. The main character had this mentor, his mentor said that you only have three great loves in your life, the last one can be your first great one, in your case your childhood friend can be your great one. Don't be shy around him, go for the gold and see what he really feels."
Michiru giggled listening to the conversation
"Small lady Samiko is very wise for her age, but the choice of movie she watched growing up wasn't age appropriate. We'll have to have a talk with her after she finishes her shift."
Haruka blinked
"I agree with you Michiru, the movie wasn't totally age appropriate. She has another job to go to after this. We can talk to her after her other job shift. I just want you to remember that you are my first great one and you will always be my first great one. We have to get going before we get caught spying by small lady Samiko."
They both left without being noticed, they got a call on their communicators. It was from Hotaru from a hotel bedroom she was sharing with her mama Setsuna and their cousin Noriko. They headed back to their apartment to talk on the computer that was in the living room.
Hotaru appeared on the screen with smiles and was in a lab coat
"Hi Haruka-papa and Michiru-mama, how are things around the palace? Did chibiusa come for her visit from college? How are Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion?"
Haruka smiled staring into the screen looking at her adoptive daughter
"Hotaru, Everyone is at peace and all are healthy. How is your convention going with Setsuna and Noriko? What have you been learning?"
Hotaru knew something was off but decided to brush it off because it had been a while since she had seen them
"I have learned a lot about all types of sciences, I have met the finest of brilliant minds from colleges around the world. I was watching the news the other night and something interesting caught my eye. I know we have been in times of peace but what is this about a new senshi in crystal Tokyo? We haven't needed senshi for centuries and now we have one with angel wings, care to explain what has been going on around the crystal palace?"
Haruka had her nervous lip twitch going on and sweat dropping from the side of her head
"Hotaru, We do have a new senshi on our hands. You don't have to worry so much. Enjoy your convention with Noriko and Setsuna. You are finally at peace and we don't need to be senshi anymore, we are retired. We can finally be a normal family without threats coming to earth to invade. We have everything under control, you have our word. So tell us more about what you have learned."
They spoke for about three hours or so learning everything that Hotaru was speaking about, when they looked at the clock they knew Samiko was about to leave her shift from her other job, they said their goodbyes to Hotaru and hung up the computer to prepare themselves for their mission.
Samiko was done cleaning the entire theater and was removing the trash bags and putting them in the back alley behind it, she placed the trash inside the dumpster rushing back to change out of her work clothes.
Haruka and Michiru waited for Samiko outside the theater in Haruka's car, when Samiko emerged from inside her job she looked very confused as to why Haruka and Michiru were waiting for her, she trusted them a little bit and got inside their car.
Somewhere in the darker parts of the universe, Queen Masami was looking through her crystal orb through her staff watching the city of crystal Tokyo, she was in search of a mysterious power and she was determined to get it at all costs, She summoned her 4 dark generals to the front, they appeared out of the shadows bowing to her, The first general had his fist closed against his chest and his eyes closed
"My queen, our efforts on earth are grand. We have collected so much energy without neo queen serenity noticing anything. I must ask why are we invading such a feeble planet?
What are we looking for exactly that draws you here?"
Queen Masami looked at her generals in front of her and kept staring at her crystal orb
"I am looking for something grand, something that holds such power. I hear it is more power than the silver crystal that Neo queen Serenity holds. This crystal holds so much power and we must obtain it, I do not care if we have to drain every last person's energy on this planet to obtain that crystal."
The first general stood up and opened his eyes looking at his queen with a smirk
"Queen Masami, let me handle this mission. I will be in the juuban shopping district selling books. The first three pages while reading will leave you so tired that you would wither away into ash."
Queen Masami looked at her generals with an evil smirk
"Go to Earth Arata, do not fail me or this mission. I am counting on you."
Back to earth Samiko was being driven back to Haruka and Michiru's place so she can unwind and just catch up on some reading or talk, whatever she wanted to do they would grant it to her.
Michiru looked through the mirror in Haruka's car with a smile
"Small lady Samiko, how was your day? Was it busy enough to keep you distracted?"
Samiko looked confused at Michiru because of her question, she calmed down and gathered her thoughts before answering
"I had a pretty productive day Michiru-san. How are you two doing this fine early evening? How did you two know I would be at my second job today? I was just going home to start my reading."
Michiru smiled
"We asked Maiko and she told us you would be here today. We wanted to pick you up today to take you to our place to relax however you like."
Samiko smiled and felt comfortable around them and leaning back in the car
"I thank you two for picking me up, I don't want to be a burden on you or put you out when you have a billion things to do."
Haruka smiled sweetly
"Small lady Samiko, I want you to feel comfortable around us. You could never be a burden on us. We have an open line of communication, remember? If you feel lost or confused, come to us right away so you have the proper guidance to lead you to the right path of clarity."
Michiru nodded
"We can't solve all of the world's problems but we can solve the ones in front of us. We are here for guidance and reassurance that everything is going to go well. It took Haruka and I took a very long time to understand the ways of the world. We had to do things normal people didn't think of doing, it was our jobs as senshi that we were able to get through things.
We also had a bright light leading us to the right path of peace and true ever lasting friendships. We want the same thing for you and our beautiful daughter. She is like you in a way. Loving the peace and quiet, the serenity we were granted to live life how we see fit. She is in college now about to finish up her last year just like Chibiusa, when she gets home we'll celebrate everything of all her accomplishments."
Samiko nodded
"Michiru-san and Haruka-san, it must be nice for your child to have the biggest support system in the world. Most people aren't that lucky to have love and support. I am just getting to know who I am as a person, all I remember is my past and wondering if I had caused the fall of the great white moon kingdom for just existing. The destruction is as clear as snow, I remember it well. I wonder why I was reborn in the first place.
I don't see the reason but to cause destruction and I see the hurt expression on everyone's faces. I know everyone doesn't really remember everything because memories were suppressed so they can live peacefully. I wasn't lucky at all, I was forced to remember everything. I heard a sole voice saying she had to be awakened and put a silence to the evil threat that came to the moon kingdom. She did just that and after that it was a very bright light, it became fuzzy."
Haruka looked at Samiko through her mirror of her car
"Small Lady Samiko, Silver millennium was rebuilt thanks to neo queen serenity. She had a lot of combined power with King Endymion to rebuild it to its former glory. Chibiusa will possibly run it or take over 30th century Tokyo when she finishes college. We don't know for sure what more of the future holds but we will make sure it's going to be fun for everyone."
Michiru smiled
"Small lady Samiko, we are also family at the end of the day, we rely on our strength as a unit. We have the combined strength to get through anything and everything."
Samiko nodded and agreed
"I understand Michiru-san, can we stop by usagi's? I left something and I want to get some practice in."
Haruka nodded and took a shortcut through the shopping district to get to Crystal Tokyo Castle, when they got there Samiko ran to her room to grab her musical instrument and jumped back into the car with Haruka and Michiru.
Michiru noticed the case Samiko's instrument was in, she looked at Samiko through the mirror of Haruka's car
"What are you learning in your classes if you don't mind me asking Small lady Samiko?"
Samiko looked at Michiru and blinked
"We are learning about classical musical compositions from the late 1680s to 1859. We have to come up with our sound for each instrument. We have to make our own music from our souls, we have to make everyone feel what we envision as we play our instrument."
They made it to their place, Haruka parked the car carefully in their garage, they took the elevator to the highest floor and entered the apartment closing the door behind them.
Samiko had put on a pair of her lone wolf slippers to be more relaxed, she took out her violin and carefully sat on the couch.
She started playing carefully and a soft sound came out, the sound was sad but calm enough to make people listen to what emotions the composer was playing
Michiru and Haruka listened to Samiko play her violin with their eyes closed, they felt sad on the inside of their souls, they were understanding how Samiko was feeling, she had played beautifully and with such grace. She stopped after an hour of practice and opened her eyes, she felt a bit better after playing the violin.
Michiru opened her eyes, looking directly at samiko
"Small Lady Samiko, you have a natural talent for the violin. I used to be a professional violinist back in my youth, traveled the world and met different people along the way. Haruka is gifted with the piano and two different kinds of sports. You played with such grace and with such feeling. I felt everything through each note you played."
Samiko rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment
"I take my education seriously, Michiru-san, I want to be ahead of the grade curve, not behind it. I have a goal to get into colleges far and wide or close to home. I want to reach my full potential in college with a lot of degrees for whatever classes I am taking for that semester. I am interested in so many things, I just want to get degrees in the things I am interested in."
Haruka patted Samiko's head softly with a smile
"Small lady Samiko, there is more to life than studying. We told you this before, remember? You are at a time in your life where everything is easy and going to be fun. The books will always be there but being a kid/teenager now is where it's at. You should be having fun, enjoying the finer things in life. School is important but taking time to be yourself around your friends and especially your family is important as well. You have to learn how to balance both sides of yourself."
There was a loud explosion in downtown juuban, the shopping district, there was a panic among every citizen.
Samiko looked at her mentors in front of her with a nervous smile
"I'll be right back, something has caught my immediate attention. I'll be back in less then half an hour."
Haruka and Michiru knew where she was going but smiled, letting her go to handle her responsibilities as a senshi in training. They decided to follow her in one of their helicopters that they owned, they flew to the area where she would be
The monster was scaring everyone in its path causing chaos, Samiko made it in time glaring at the monster
"Yo, just what the hell do you think you are doing to this peaceful city? What do you monsters and creeps have against the shopping district? The shopping district is supposed to be fun and relaxing."
The monster turned around staring at Samiko with pure rage in its eyes
"Who are you small puny human? Why are you disrupting my fun in causing this feeble planet harm?"
Samiko smirked holding her brooch in her hand
"I am your worst nightmare, you will pay for your sins against crystal Tokyo and its shopping district. You will pay heavily for scaring the peaceful people of this town. CRYSTAL PRISM POWER MAKE UP!"
She transformed into her senshi form, the transformation blinded the monster temporarily causing pain and discomfort to its eyes.
Samiko was in full angel senshi form hovering over the monster's head, her wings were flapping calmly and softly
"I hope my entrance didn't blind you so much. You see you stepped into the wrong neighborhood and caused all this chaos and inconvenience for what? To find a crystal that hasn't been used in years. I find it hard to believe that evil villains want the legendary silver crystal. I can assure you it is heavily guarded and it won't be found not now , not ever. You can kick rocks or learn the hard way!"
The monster saw the angel above him and tried to grab her but it failed, she moved quickly confusing the monster that was under her feet. Haruka and Michiru were feet away from battle, watching everything going on from their helicopter, they noticed that samiko's plays with her enemy's emotions so they could feel weak, it was a bit unusual but it worked for her.
Samiko removed her halo from the top of her head, swinging it slowly from finger to finger
"I didn't know I could remove the halo from my head. I wonder what it can do besides sit on my head looking like a hat for fashion. I wonder if i throw it will it become a weapon or something. We have to test it out first."
The monster tried to grab her again but missed because she was too quick for it, it growled in frustration shooting its dark energy ball at angel moon, she kept dodging making the monster tired.
Samiko still had the halo in her hands and smirked, she had an attack idea name in her mind for her halo. She threw the halo at the monster and yelled
"Halo of truth!"
The halo flew out of her hand and landed on the monster causing it pain, the halo trapped the monster in its place, slowly the monster was disappearing into thin air without causing too much damage to the city.
The halo returned to where it belonged on the top of samiko's head, she carefully returned to the ground looking around just in case she ran into people from school or her best friends she grew up with, luckily for her she didn't run into anyone she knew. She thought she was out of the woods after defeating the monster, a tall man with piercing yellow eyes came out of the darkness throwing a dark ball of energy at angel moon, she used her wings almost like a bat deflecting the attack. He spoke with a very deep voice and was glaring at her
"You are the senshi foiling our plans for the crystal we are looking for, just who the hell do you think you are?"
Angel moon looked at the villain in front of her and glared
"I don't tell strangers my identity, as you can see i am a senshi and that's as far as an introduction you will get. I don't recall you telling me who you are and why you are in my city of peace, serenity and clarity."
The figure was wearing an all black and white suit, he moved closer to angel moon with an evil smirk, He grabbed her face and stared into her soul
"I am Arata of the dark shadows, I control all of the things that belong in the dark. I sense a darkness in you. She wants to be free but the hold you strongly have on her won't let her be great. What's this I see? I also sense a light side to you. A senshi with both elements of darkness and light, it is interesting. You will be our greatest defeat or our greatest headache. We will see much of each other soon, angel moon, farewell for now."
He let her go with a warning that he will be back for more chaos and more destruction. He said something that struck a chord with her, he said he saw a darkness in her and that darkness is trapped because of a hold she has on it. She won't let the darkness be great, whatever he meant he was wrong. There was no darkness in her, she is just going day by day living and surviving just like a regular person.
She went into a back alley to de-transform back into her regular clothes and went back to Haruka and Michiru's place. Haruka and Michiru were already back at their apartment sitting on the couch waiting for Samiko to return.
Samiko arrived carefully back at the apartment with a smile and no injuries on her, she looked at Haruka and Michiru with a big smile on her face and sat on the couch. She noticed that they were waiting for her as they sat on the couch.
Haruka patted Samiko's head softly and with a smile
"We are very proud of you, Small Lady Samiko, You are becoming a fine senshi in training. This is only the very beginning of your training. You still have ways to go but this is a great start, with each battle you gain a new power skill. You will also gain a lot of wisdom during these battles. You will think differently."
Michiru nodded
"The real lesson, Small lady Samiko is when you have to depend on your team, i mean it will be a very long time before you complete your team. The world is your oyster, take it one day at a time. There will be more lessons along the way, it is what you take from those lessons that will help guide and mold you into who you really want to be."
Samiko had one eye closed and accepting the praise and giggled
"I have to accept this destiny of mine with a grain of salt. I have to plan everything ahead of time before evil strikes. I have to know when they will strike as well. I have no homework for the next week because it's midterms and final exams. We just have review classes and tutoring to go over what we learned and how much more we can improve on our studying methods. It is a good thing the school board approved of a three day weekend and four day school week.
It took six months for it to get approved, it made my job as class/student council president hard. I took the responsibility with grace and let nature take its course, after everything was approved I got to relax and nobody asked too many questions. I get to enjoy working my part time jobs over the weekend and catch up on all my reading. I prefer this three day weekend and four day school week. School will be Tuesday through Friday, weekends are Saturday through Monday."
Haruka looked at Samiko with a comforting smile on her face
"Who proposed the three day weekend and four day school week?"
Samiko looked at the two adults in the room with her
"I went around asking the student body, I even had a pros and cons list for everything. I went to each grade and class accordingly due to seniority. They were all shocked at such a proposal that it took time for everyone to process the thought, once it was fully processed everyone agreed to the idea.
I value everyone's opinions and choices when it comes to how their education should be treated. Like I said before it took six months before it was actually accepted by the school board. I had to combine the school days and the weekends along with getting rid of school uniforms as well, everyone wanted to dress regularly during the school week instead of wearing those school uniforms."
She started to yawn because she was exhausted from fighting forces of evil and wanted to just relax and nap.
Michiru patted Samiko's head softly
"Why don't you go rest in the guest bedroom? We'll wake you when dinner is ready. We're ordering in tonight."
Samiko nodded slowly because she was that exhausted from the battle, but she knew she had to get with the program and get used to the changes around her. She laid on the super comfy bed and fell asleep in her pjs under the large quilt.
Haruka called Usagi on the communicator
"Hey Usagi, we have the rabbit over. She is fine and is napping. We are making steady progress with her. We picked her up from work and got to know more about her.
She is very bright for her age and extremely gifted when it comes to musical instruments. We have nothing to worry about, I think she is finally accepting her role as a senshi. She used her halo as a weapon, the monster disappeared into thin air without causing too much damage to the city. I still think she flies too high in the sky but I will accept it for now because she is learning how to use her powers. She is really fast getting over on a enemy, she plays mind games with them."
Usagi was talking on the communicator carefully making sure not to talk too loud where she wakes up samiko from her nap
"I was worried for a moment, thank you for picking her up from work. She must have been tired. I don't know how she has the energy to have two jobs. I guess she is spending the night isn't she?"
Michiru nodded
"Small Lady Samiko will be returned home later tonight, she just needs rest and a time to unwind.
I am guessing Haruka's gentle aura is having an effect on her because she gets very sleepy out of nowhere. She sleeps about three hours and wakes up for dinner."
They spoke for about two and half hours, after speaking to Usagi they ordered dinner and dessert for the evening. Samiko was tossing and turning in bed, having one of her nightmare episodes. The nightmare was less powerful because she was in a positive environment surrounded by people who were actually looking out for her. She finally fell asleep peacefully and comfortably after twenty minutes.
Somewhere in the darker parts of the universe, Queen Masami was looking through her orb on her staff, she was disappointed in her minion in failing to obtain the crystal she is seeking
Arata came in bowing in respect due his failure of obtaining the crystal his queen desperately wanted for more power
"Queen Masami, I am deeply sorry for failing this mission. This new aged senshi has foiled our plans to obtain the crystal we are seeking. We are still collecting energy to see if someone will slip up and say where the location of this crystal you seek is, I will not fail next time. She will not interfere with our quest in getting that crystal."
Queen Masami used a dark energy blast from her orb sending Arata flying into a wall
"I want this senshi destroyed, she will not interfere ever again with us. We must get our hands on that crystal. I do not care if you have to drain all the human energy on that heavenly planet. Arata, I will give you one more chance to drain energy and find me that crystal. If you shall fail me again, you will be sent into the void of darkness where you will go mad with rage and destroy yourself."
Arata got up from the blast, dusting his uniform off and coughing
"I promise you my queen, I will not fail this mission, tomorrow is a new day, with a new day comes new opportunities to find that crystal."
Back to earth, Samiko woke up from her nap and brushed her teeth carefully in the guest bathroom. She smelled the delicious aroma of food, she couldn't wait to eat with her mentors. She knew at some point she had to return to crystal palace because Usagi would worry and the last thing Samiko needed was her cousin to worry so much.
She sat at the table carefully and the two mentors were staring at her, she became concerned and looked back at them
"Haruka-san and Michiru-san, are you both ok? What happened while I was napping?"
Haruka looked at Samiko with a smile
"We're glad you are awake, Small Lady Samiko, we wanted to talk to you about your jobs. I mean if that's ok with you."
Samiko looked at them confused and nodded
"I don't have a problem talking about my jobs, I am pretty sure you both know I have two part time jobs. What do you both want to know about them exactly?"
Michiru gave samiko the motherly smile to reassure her that everything was fine
"We both want to know how are your fellow co-workers are treating you. How is the environment at both of your places of work?"
Samiko looked at them both with a smile
"The two jobs are easy, everyone treats me fairly and they see I work hard and keep everything organized. They understand my school schedule so they don't ask me to cover anyone's shifts, they know my education comes first. I have fun at my jobs. I can get really creative at both of them when I have free time."
Michiru looked at her still with a motherly smile
"We were at the crown today, we wanted to make sure you were safe and having fun. The girl you were working with, is she a potential love interest?"
Haruka's eyes went wide and she dropped sweat from her temple
"Michiru, way to be subtle about your question. She is right though, Small lady Samiko, is she your girlfriend?"
Samiko's face turned bright red from embarrassment and shook her head
"Are you two referring to Azumi Furuhata? She is my co-worker and another friend of mine. We are not dating. She is a year older than me in high school. We goof around a lot but sometimes it comes off as harmless flirting, it's just how we are at times. It's almost every shift thing before her older brother comes in to take over after his college classes are done for the afternoon. We totally have a platonic friendship."
Michiru giggled
"Small lady Samiko, no need to be shy or embarrassed. We just wanted to know the environment you work in, that's all. You have everything under control it seems. I am glad you are having fun at places of work and expect us to pick you up every now and then for safety reasons or Usagi wants you home quickly for some reason.
She worries about you, I know you don't like it when people worry about you. We all worry about you. It's not just because you are Neo Queen Serenity's baby cousin but it's because you are your own person and we want what's best for you. You are important to us, we want to see you grow up in a healthy and beautiful way. You will curve out your own path, yes you are a senshi like those before you, but you have time to decide if you want to stay on your own path or follow in the footsteps of those before you."
Haruka nodded
"We expect great things from you, but we don't want the pressures of you living in Usagi's shadow to force you to decide who you want to be in the future."
Samiko nodded
"I know I have a choice whether or not to follow in my cousin's footsteps or not. My life choices are my own and I won't let anything derail me from reaching my true goal in life, whatever goal I set i will complete it in my own time.
Yes, Usagi is Neo Queen Serenity and she holds a lot of power in all of japan. She has a lot of influence. We live totally separate lives and we are completely the polar opposite of each other. I feel like everyone is expecting me to be just like her, well I can't. I can't fill her shoes not in a million years. I just want my peace and quiet for the most part. I enjoy my independence a lot and my applications to colleges when I apply will look with my job and educational experiences on it. I won't worry about applying until sophomore year of high school, so I am already ahead and I can relax now. My entrance exams for high school are looking pretty good. I hope I get into my first or second choice."
Haruka smiled patting Samiko's head softly
"Where you go to school shouldn't define you either. The high school experience is going to be fun with your friends. What clubs will you be joining during your high school term?"
Samiko looked at them with a smile
"I suppose joining sports clubs or the arts club won't be bad, maybe English literature club sounds nice, i do love reading a lot."
Michiru nodded and started serving the dinner carefully
"Small lady Samiko, those are wonderful choices, your high school days will be busy but fun. I want you to take it easy, don't rush head first into something you aren't prepared for."
Samiko's cell phone rang, it was one of the student council members calling about a school play that will be put on after the exams, they are expected to have a cultural festival after all exams are completed by the end of the term, She shot an email to the member of the cultural festival committee to confirm all suggestions for plays minus Romeo and Juliet, she didn't want to relive the sixth grade fiasco with akiko, after the email was sent she started eating dinner with Haruka and Michiru carefully.
After dinner they all got ready to drive Samiko to Usagi and Mamoru's place, Samiko grabbed her things and placed them into Haruka's car carefully, she sat inside the car and placed her seatbelt on for safety. The drive wasn't long but the breeze felt nice and she was very relaxed on the ride to Crystal palace. They finally arrived at the castle, said their goodbyes. Samiko went into the castle and headed straight for her room to prepare for a very long week of course review and tutoring…
