Naruto walked through the corridors, still following her group, who hadn't separated from Hufflepuff yet. She wasn't just talking to Justin; she was conversing with other kids from that house. They wondered how someone so small could have so much energy after the long journey.
"Naruto, it was incredible! You should have seen the look on that guy's face," Justin mentioned to his fellow Hufflepuffs, but the first-year Gryffindors couldn't help overhearing their conversation.
"When did you meet Justin?" Harry asked Naruto, and she gave him a smile.
"When we went to Diagon Alley, after we split up," Naruto sped up a bit as the Gryffindor kids were called, and Hufflepuff was led in a different direction.
"This is the shortest way to the dormitories, but watch out for the stairs; they like to change," Percy advised, and Naruto, who had finally reached the front, asked, "Change? How do you mean?"
Percy simply pointed with his finger above his head, and Naruto looked up to see a staircase changing its position. At that moment, Naruto realized she had a lot, and I mean a lot, to explore.
As Naruto gazed at the paintings, she blinked, thinking she might be hallucinating. They were moving! Watching them as they passed, the feeling of the ghost returned a little. However, when one of the paintings gave her a smile and she returned it, she felt better.
When they arrived at a particularly large painting and stopped, the lady in the portrait exclaimed, "Password!"
"Caput draconis," Percy replied, and suddenly, the painting opened like a door, allowing them to pass.
They entered a cozy room with a fireplace and colors like gold and red, a fluffy and soft-looking sofa in front of the fireplace.
"Now, boys will sleep on the right side, and girls on the left side. When you enter, you'll see that your belongings are already there. I wish you all a good night," Naruto gave an even more enthusiastic "good night" than the rest.
At first, the kids didn't go anywhere, mostly because of Naruto, who talked too much. When sleep finally overtook them, they told Naruto they would continue tomorrow.
Naruto froze when she saw the stairs leading to the girls' room and the other stairs leading to the boys' room. Naruto would look bad if her things weren't in the girls' room. According to what she had been told, there was a spell to prevent boys from entering the girls' room.
That's why she decided to check the boys' room just to be relieved that her things were there.
There were six beds, and some, like Neville and Seamus, were already preparing for bed. Naruto decided she wouldn't be the exception, so she opened her trunk, took out her nightshirt, and her eyes fixed on the stuffed animal before deciding to take it out.
For Naruto, it was a bit cumbersome to take off all those layers, but when she finally managed to finish with only the shirt and pants, she left the uniform in a pile on top of the trunk.
She felt a little uncomfortable, as if touching anything would break it, and Naruto realized that this feeling wouldn't go away for about two months...
"You should hang it up," Seamus said, yawning. "From what I've heard, Professor McGonagall is strict about that." He finished with a "goodnight" and lay down in bed, wrapping himself in blankets.
Naruto unbuttoned her shirt and left it with the rest of her clothes before putting on her nightshirt and then her pants. Her shoes were placed next to the bed, along with her socks, and when Naruto finally sat on the bed, she felt like she was on a very soft cloud. The red fabric had a furry texture that was pleasant to the touch for the little girl.
She settled under the blankets, her stuffed rabbit by her side. She thought about what had happened during the day and that she needed to write to Tortoise and the Hokage to tell them so many things...
When Naruto's eyes were almost closed, she heard someone moving. She sat up, looking at Harry, who was near the window. His gaze seemed pensive. As Naruto approached, her bare feet touched the cold floor, making her shiver. When she was close enough, she whispered, "Harry."
Harry jumped, looking at Naruto, who rubbed her eye with her fist.
"Oh, I'm sorry; did I wake you?" Harry noticed that Naruto wasn't wearing pajamas like him, just a shirt and underwear.
"I wasn't asleep," Harry raised an eyebrow "Well, I was close to falling asleep, believe it!" Naruto gave him a smile. "What are you thinking about?"
"About what happened," Harry turned his gaze back outside. "Don't worry; you can go back to bed. I'll go to sleep soon too."
Naruto hesitated about leaving her friend, but she agreed; her battery was completely drained at this point. She returned to her bed, lying under the blankets, and when her eyes closed, she didn't take long to fall asleep...
