There's bookshelves and modern computers, the desk and chair having more simplistic design than the usual handmade craft in the other world. The smell is also different, the artificial air by the air conditioner never in their mind would have that nostalgic favor to it.

It's Mitsuha's bedroom, Kaoru looks amazed as she thought she would never see the landscape of Tokyo again but then there she is.

And there's Mile, stunned by the layout of Mitsuha's room. It's exactly like the room shown in the anime, the only difference here is that this is a real place used by real people. The idea that she has walked into a book remains astonishing.

Checking her phone and changing her clothes, Mitsuha is in a hurry. To both Kaoru and Mile's surprise, Mitsuha's thigh is wrapped with bandages. Her rather serious and sadden expression on her face kept the room silent for quite a moment.

"...do you need help?" Kaoru showcases her potion.

"Uh…" Mitsuha is hesitant, she halts on her checking of firearms and small knives meanwhile. "That would be great…"

(Drink.)

The healing is instant. Mitsuha unwrapped her bandages, yet, she doesn't seem surprised.

"Did you engage in battle before…?" Mile asks.

"Against the dragons, yes… but that isn't about that." Mitsuha leads the two out of the room to her living room. "I was uhm… raided on my way to my territory."

"Interesting…" Mile is barely convinced, she remembers that Mitsuha didn't get hurt during her journey to her domain before.

(Perhaps it is the result of a different universe? Things can be slightly different…)

"Hey… what year is it here in Japan?" Kaoru not noticing the conversation they had, her focus is on the world outside.

"The year is 2010." Mitsuha shrugs. "Look, I don't know what you are going to do but please don't do it…"

"..." Kaoru notices the disapproving expression from Mitsuha and Mile, she is quite guilty. "I mean… What I want to ask is… I wonder what happened to my grave and places that I know in this world."

"There's no person named Kaoru Nagase. You are only just a fictional character in my world." Mitsuha pulls out a book from her bookshelves. It is without a doubt her face on the page.

"..." Kaoru takes the book from Mitusha, she realizes every word she said, the places she went to, and the people she met. They are all written down in such a light hearted and precise way that she could read it as they are all from her memories. Then she realizes something is off. "If this is real… who wrote this?"

"..." Mitsuha shakes her head. "I can't let you intertwine in my world, there could be unexpected effects."

"You are such a hypocrite for saying that you know, Mrs Mitsuha…" Mike's word cause heavy damage to the world's greatest esper.

"Look, I have urgent matters that need my attention. I need you two to not go anywhere until I return, is that fine by you two?" Mitsuha takes her bag before disappearing. The other two girls are still feeling uneasy when they see Mitsuha's disappearance is casually executed. Almost if as this is part of her daily life at this point, and they are witnessing all of that in action.

"You are… Mile right?"

"Yeah, I know you are Kaoru. We have the same book over in my world." Mile treats the place like her own home. She quickly pulls out a fresh apple juice from the fridge. "You want some?"

"Aren't you a bit… Too relaxed?"

"Ah… I have my own reason for that." Mile smiles awkwardly. "For some reason, I ended up with myself getting treated like a goddess or symbol and had to live my life in a silly temple."

"Huh…" Kaoru knows this feeling too well, Mile nods. "...so you keep getting those crazy believer looks, right?"

"It's hard, you know! I wish for a normal life but instead I keep getting crazier adventures to the point of fighting aliens…" Mile muses on the sofa as if she's having a mid-life crisis. "I guess the portal leads me here. How did you come here, Mrs Kaoru?"

"Me… I, uhm, trapped myself in the item box." Kaoru expects Mile to react but she seems to be expecting it. "You know my story."

"You fell into the trap, things are burning and you have no way to go." Mile with tears as she is reading. "Then the perspective cuts to your followers, they yell in agony, refusing to believe what they saw: the goddess's friend got burned alive and they can only watch…"

"Wait, are you reading?" Kaoru with her sharp eyes, is demanding Mile to hand it over.

"..." Kaoru after flipping a few pages. "There's no way… If I got rescued, why am I here? What-"

"It's the multiverse, Kaoru… Who knows what happened with Mitsuha." Mile crosses her hand, pushing her reflecting glasses. "I don't know about you but I feel bored in my world so this kind of new adventure is exciting to me."

"..." Kaoru could only hope her Celestine goddess friend would come to rescue. "By the way Mile, I want to ask."

"Huh?"

"Where did you get those glasses?"
