The episode starts with Don narrating. "Last time on the race around the states, this competition started off in the the Grand Canyon." "There were several different paths the contestants could take, and we saw interactions from the ones that don't usually speak to each other." "In the end, Jacques proved that he was better off without Josee bossing him around, and won the race. "Will that momentum carry over to the second challenge?"' "Find out in this episode of, The race around the states.
Intro consists of a shorter version of the final countdown.
At the end of each leg of the Ridonculous race, all of the contestants stayed in hotels. The producers were paying the hotels to house to contestants, and the contestants were bunking with their teammate every time. The same concept still applies to the race around the states. Let's look in on each of the rooms, and see what our contestants are up to.
(Room 1- the fashion bloggers)
"I don't understand, I thought I would do pretty good in this competition" said Jen. "I never expected that I would finish in the back." "It's still early, we still have 39 more challenges to go until the chase" said Tom. "Just keep fighting hard and you'll get into that 12 sooner than you think."
(Room 2-the stepbrothers)
"You actually got onto the podium, that's pretty badass" said Lorenzo. "Yeah I know, maybe this challenge both of us can get up there" said Chet. "And it'll be me coming ahead of you" said Lorenzo. "Not on your life brothah" said Chet.
(Confession cam- I have two older brothers)
Lorenzo- "I may love him as a brother, but i'm still going to kick his ass."

(Room 3- father and son)
Dwayne Junior was actually asleep in bed cuddling his teddy bear, while Dwayne Sr was typing on a laptop. Dwayne then went over to Junior's bed, and gave him a little nudge. "Psst Junior, wake up." Junior slowly opened his eyes, and leaned forward. "Dad, what do you want?" he asked. "I just hiked up and 8 hour mountain, and i'm tired." "I'm not asking you for much, I just need you to grammar check my Thomas the tank engine fan fiction" said Dwayne. "How on earth can you write about that piece of garbage?" asked Junior. "But you used to love that show when you were little" said Dwayne. "I lost interest when Sharon Miller took over as head writer last year" said Junior. "So far the only good thing to come out of her was hero of the rails." "It's not her fault that there is a dip in quality, most of her writing decisions were probably influenced by Hit entertainment" said Dwayne. "Alright, let's just get this over with" said Junior. He sat down in front of the computer, and began working.
(Room 4- the sisters)
"Kitty I want you to listen carefully, You are my little sister and I love you" said Emma. "Regardless of what happens in the rest of the competition, I don't want anything to drive us apart." "Emma, I truly feel the same way about you" said Kitty. "Even if we're apart, we'll still be together." The two then hugged each other.
(Room 5- the geniuses)
"Do you think we have a good shot at making the chase?" asked Mary. "Affirmative, the odds of both of us making it to the post season are exactly 75%" said Ellody. "I just hope we don't overthink things and screw up" said Mary.
(Room 6- the daters)
"I cannot believe I lost to that ice dancing son of a bitch" said Stephanie. "Don't even get me started on the fact that you are only safe by one point." "I'm fairly certain we'll both get him next challenge" said Ryan. "We should hope so, we can't lose to the ice dancers again" said Stephanie.
(Confession cam- I actually can't skate)
Ryan- "If Stephanie was anything like she used to be, she would have taken all of her anger out on me."

(Room 7- the goths)
The gothic couple barely showed any emotion as they were talking to each other. "Maybe after the show is over we should move to Transylvania permanently" said Crimson. "That doesn't sound like a bad idea, as long as Loki gets to come with us" said Ennui.
(Room 8- the adversity twins)
"How were you able to get fourth place?" asked Jay. "I really don't know, but I think we need to take more chances if we want to stay in this thing" said Mickey. "We can't take too many chances, I don't want a repeat of when we were 7" said Jay. "I wet the bed for a whole month."
(Room 9- the reality tv pros)
"I'm sorry I have to do this Owen, you're going to have to go on without me" said Noah. "What do you mean?" asked Owen. "I'm dropping out of the competition" said Noah. "But you're still ninth on the chase grid, you could still win this" said Owen. "I don't give a damn, about the million dollars" said Noah. "What I really care about is Emma." "She's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and she only sees me as a friend." "She claims to be in love with me, but her priority is winning." "She's going to put the money before me, and then dump me." "Up until i've met her I've been a sarcastic dick." "I was lazy, I put myself before others, I insulted people without thinking of the consequences. "I've come to accept my fate that all I will ever be, is an asshole." "I don't deserve to win the million dollars, I don't deserve anything." "Noah please, i'm begging you, give it one last try" said Owen. "One last challenge, I really think you should give yourself one last chance." Noah let out a sigh. "One more challenge, and then i'm leaving, nothing is telling me otherwise" he said.
(Room 10- the surfers)
"Alright man, we are the first two guys out of the chase" said Brody. "It's about time we step up our game." "I here you bro, we need to keep fighting until we get to the top" said Geoff.
(Room 11- mother and daughter)
"The way you've been acting since we got to Arizona has been disrespectful" said Kelly. "If you aren't going to play fair, i'll have to take away your wifi privileges." "Like you actually scare me, no matter how many punishments you throw at me, i'm still going to win the million" said Taylor.
(Room 12- the best friends)
"Um, considering how we're a couple now I have to ask, does Junior still have feelings for you?" asked Devin. "Oh God, I really hope not" said Carrie. "If he does, it's going to be hard to tell him that I prefer being just friends."
(Room 13- the tennis rivals)
Gerry and Pete were discussing their possible life after the show. "Do you think we will ever become more popular than Howie Mandel?" asked Gerry. "Only if we make more money than him" said Pete.
(Room 14- the Larpers)
"Leonard, I think I know why are magic isn't working" said Tammy. "Say it isn't so" said Leonard. "I'm afraid it's true, we have cursed by the evil sorcerer Moldy Snort" said Tammy. "Damn you Moldy Snort" said Leonard.
(Room 15- the cadets)
"I get that Sanders is your last name, but what is your first name?" asked MacArthur. "I plead the fifth, I'm saving that reveal for a special occasion" said Sanders. "Let me guess, the special occasion is when one of us gets promoted to sheriff" said MacArthur. "Not even close" said Sanders.
(Room 16- the ice dancers
"The look on your face was absolutely priceless, when I beat you to the top of the Grand Canyon" said Jacques. "This proves that you are nothing without me." "This does not prove anything asshole" said Josee. "Your luck will run out, and that fluke win won't get you any bonus points." "As if I need to rely on a wild card spot" said Jacques. "No you dumbass, you'll fall outside of the top 20, and then i'm going to make the chase and win the million" said Josee.
(Confession cam- You can't say dumbass, that's offensive to stupid donkeys)
Josee- "Just wait, he'll be begging for mercy, and won't get any."

(Room 17- the rockers)
"Rock, do you think i'm stupid?" asked Spud. "No of course not, you just have a little trouble remembering things" said Rock. "If something complicated comes up, just write it down so you won't forget it."
(Room 18- the vegans)
"This is really bad, due to the fact I wished karma on Dwane Senior, this means that he is going to get badly hurt" said Laurie. "Listen Laurie, everything is fine, nobody is going to get hurt" said Miles.
The next morning everyone was on a bus, headed to Virginia. Noah sat at the back of the bus, wanting to be alone on his last day before his retirement from reality tv. Some of the other contestants towards the front, were actually concerned for him.
(Confession cam- love is complicated)
Noah- "I can't go on like this, just watch as I finish in thirty sixth on my last day."
Owen- "I never really thought of Noah as the one to just give up like that." "I'm worried that something bad might happen to him."

The bus came to a stop, when they arrived at Hampton Roads. Don then led the contestants to a large body of water. "You are now looking at the James river, the largest river in Virginia" said Don. "This section here in Hampton Roads, is the widest part of the river at 5 miles." "You will each be riding a kayak, from one end to the other." "It's about a 10 mile race, and the first contestant to make it back will win the challenge."
Everyone soon had their kayaks in water, and they were wearing life jackets. Don was standing at the edge, waiting to start the race. "3...2...2...GOOO!" The race was now on. Some contestants were better rowers than others, and everyone began to get spread out into groups of 3.
Tom was currently rowing with Spud and Devin. "So Tom, I was thinking that me and Carrie could double date with you and Jen" said Devin. "What are you talking about?" asked Tom. "Me and Jen are just friends, if we were to start dating it would feel like incest." "What, do you think of her as a sister?" asked Spud. "No, I think of her as a cousin" said Tom.
(Confession cam- I do not support incest)
Tom- "I'm being serious, me and Jen do not have romantic feeling towards each other."

A couple of hours went by and Noah, Jen, and Owen were now going around the buoy at the other end of the river, meaning that they were halfway there. Then the three of them went past Emma, Chet, and Brody. Noah lost it at that point. He didn't even want to look at Emma. He found strength that he didn't know he had, and was now rowing like crazy. He wanted to get as far away from Emma as possible. He went right past Crimson, Lorenzo, and Laurie, and shouted something to Crimson. "I ENVY YOU!" "YOU AND ENNUI DON'T HAVE TO SUFFER A TOXIC RELATIONSHIP!"
(Confession cam- This is the example of being emotionally destroyed)
Noah- (Is now throwing a tantrum at the top of his lungs) "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" HOW CAN I LOOK AT THE WOMAN I LOVE, KNOWING THAT SHE WON'T RETURN MY FEELINGS?!" I JUST WANT TO GET OFF THIS SHOW AND DIE!"
Emma- "Something is definitely wrong with Noah, it's just out of character for him to avoid me all of a sudden."
Crimson- "Noah has serious issues, all of the Gods pity him."

Ellody was with Dwayne and Carrie. "Dwayne, we need to discuss something" said Carrie. "It's about your son's crush on me, how do I friend zone him without hurting his feelings?" "Oh there's no need to tell him anything, he managed to get a girlfriend while he was in the hospital" said Dwayne. Carrie had a hard time believing what she was hearing. "Well this is a surprise, who is it?" she asked. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you" said Dwayne. "Maybe you can ask him yourself." "It's definitely not me, me and him are not meant to be" said Ellody. "Although, me and Mary did help him with his homework after you two got eliminated last season."
(Confession cam- I am not looking forward to college...if I actually go there)
Carrie- "It was probably some chick in the ER having liver surgery, I highly doubt it was another contestant." "Junior is like the youngest one here, and I feel as though everyone else might be too old for him."

Miles was actually with Geoff and Junior. "Junior, weird things have been happening, Laurie actually thought it was your fault that Loki attacked you" said Miles. "What gave her that idea?" asked Junior. "She said that the karma she wished on your father, led to his son getting seriously hurt" said Miles. "Then she had a theory that because she wished the karma on your dad instead of you, it's your dad that's eventually going to get hurt instead." "She really regrets saying that, and thinks that she's a bad person." "Well at least she acknowledges that what she did was wrong" said Junior. "Now if someone were to intentionally injure one of my family members and not feel any remorse for it, then that someone will end up where I was a year ago, in the hospital." "Whoa little dude, I understand that you care about your family, but two wrongs don't make a right" said Geoff. "Says the one who flashes a mans penis on live television over a stupid pair of underpants" said Junior.
(Confession cam- Junior is really angry in this story)
Junior- "What Geoff did, possibly ruined Harold's life." "I am 100% positive that the reason why Leshawna rejected Harold, was because she didn't feel comfortable dating him, knowing full well what his junk looks like." "Had that incident never happened, those two could have gotten married and started a family." "And don't try to defend Geoff by saying it was all Duncan's idea, because Geoff was so in on it." "He and Duncan continued to bully him, ever after Harold owned up to the underwear incident." "I don't even think Harold did anything, i'm pretty sure that Duncan just stole a pair of Harold's underwear, just so he could frame him." "I'm glad that jerk got arrested in all stars."

Kitty was with Jay and Sanders. "Sanders, could you teach me and Mickey how to overcome adversity?" asked Jay. "I don't know what you're talking about" said Sanders. "I think he's referring to how your arm made a full recovery, and how you managed to become a police officer" said Kitty. "Then in that case it's very simple, do not give up, no matter what obstacle life throws at you" said Sanders.
(Confession cam- Been there, done that)
Sanders- "It actually took me about two weeks to make a full recovery." "Once I got to the academy, there was nothing in my way."
Jay- "I think that I have a bad habit of panicking too often."

Mary was with Kelly and MacArthur. "Taylor is way ahead of us, it's good to know that she's not cheating this time" said Kelly. "She wasn't cheating in the last challenge, there was no rule against intentional contact" said MacArthur. "Cheating definition: act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination" said Mary. "You can still be cheating, even if it isn't against the rules."

MacArthur- "How many tickets do I have to hand out to people for pissing me off?"

Mickey was with Stephanie and Leonard. "Mickey, why do you always wear headgear when you aren't playing sports?" asked Stephanie. "In case somebody tries to throw stones at me" said Mickey. "I though it was to tell you and your twin apart" said Leonard. "We aren't that identical, my blue hoodie is a lighter color than his" said Mickey.
(Confession cam- Why do cartoon characters always were the same clothes?)
Stephanie- "I won't deny it, I still confuse the two of them for the other."

Taylor, Tammy, and Ryan were shocked, when Noah went right past them. Noah actually shouted out to Ryan. "TAKE CARE OF STEPHANIE!" "YOU MIGHT NEVER SEE HER AGAIN!"
(Confession cam- You can tell that he is really upset)
Ryan- "What the hell is wrong with him?" "He just seems so out of character."

Pete and Jacques continued to slam their boats into each other, and Ennui was laying back to avoid them crashing into him. "Back off you dipshit" said Pete. "I'm not letting an old fart stop me from getting back to back wins" said Jacques.
(Confession cam- Why is everybody so hostile?)
Ennui- "I could have made a move to try and pass them, but I didn't want to ruin my makeup."

Josee and Gerry kept slamming into each other, determined to beat one another. "You're too old to be in this competition" said Josee. "And you're too sloppy to be a proper ice dancer" said Gerry. The two were slowing each other down, and allowed Rock to go right past them.
(Confession cam- This is quite competitive for a boat race)
Rock- "Why does everybody want to beat the crap out of each other?" "We can resolve conflicts, without violence."

Don was surprised, when Noah came sailing across the finish line. "That was fast, I wasn't expecting first place to get her for at least another two hours" said Don. Noah climbed out of the kayak, and ripped off his life jacket. "Whatever, just give me my prize for winning so I can get the hell out of here" he said. "Where are you going?" asked Don. "We still have 48 challenges left." "I'm dropping out of the competition and going home" said Noah. "Well you can't receive your prize until everyone else finishes, we still have the podium to get through" said Don. "I could just send it to you in the mail, but I would think you would want to say goodbye to Emma before you leave." Noah burst into tears upon hearing Emma's name. "Just give me the keys to my room" he said. "I'll come down when everyone else gets here, but after that i'm gone."
Noah quickly ran into the hotel room that he and Owen would be staying in until the next challenge. He went underneath his covers, and began bawling his eyes out. "WHY, WHY DOES GOD HATE ME?!" "HE SHOULD JUST KILL ME ALREADY!"
Around 2 hours later, Jen crossed the finish line in second, Owen in third, Emma in fourth, Chet in fifth, and Brody in sixth. "What's going on here?" asked Emma. "Where is Noah"? "I really wish he was in a better state" said Don. "He was on the edge of leaving, saying that he was dropping out of the competition." "I guess something went off inside him, when I told him that he should say goodbye to you." "He said that after the podium ceremony he's going home." Emma just stood there in shock. "Something bad obviously happened" said Chet. "I hope the dude is okay" said Brody. "I don't understand, why is he quitting?" asked Jen. Owen was opening his mouth to talk, before Emma put a finger to it. "I know exactly what the problem is" she said. "I need to set things right."
Emma walked into the hotel, and knocked on the door to Owen and Noah's room. "Go away, you'll just make the situation worse" said Noah, without realizing who he was talking to. Emma then walked into the room. "Listen Noah, I need to talk to you" she said. Noah then climbed out from under the covers. "I get it, you're here to dump me" he said. "Even though you don't have feelings for me, I just want you to know that you were the best part of my life." "I'll be thinking about you when i'm back at home, crying in my bed for the rest of my life." "Listen Noah, I'm not breaking up with you" said Emma. "I've been a total jerk since day one, because all I cared about was winning." "I've come to realize that you are much more important to me, than any amount of money." "From now on, i'm thinking of you before the competition." "There is not a thing in the universe that I care about more than you." "We are never breaking up, I love you Noah." Still with tears in his eyes, Noah let out a smile. "I love you too Emma" he said. The two leaned forward, closed their eyes, and kissed each other on the lips, for a good 15 seconds.
The rest of the contestants, soon rowed across the finish line with Crimson in seventh, Lorenzo in eighth, Laurie in ninth, Taylor in tenth, Tammy in eleventh, Ryan in twelfth, Mickey in thirteenth, Stephanie in fourteenth, Leonard in fifteenth, Mary in sixteenth, Kelly in seventeenth, MacArthur in eighteenth, Kitty in nineteenth, Jay in twentieth, Sanders in twenty first, Miles twenty second, Geoff in twenty third, Junior in twenty fourth, Tom in twenty fifth, Spud in twenty sixth, Devin in twenty seventh, Rock in twenty eighth, Josee in twenty ninth, Gerry in thirtieth, Ellody in thirty first, Dwayne in thirty second, Carrie in thirty third, Pete in thirty fourth, Jacques in thirty fifth, and Ennui in thirty sixth and last place.

Chet- "I am actually the points leader." "The rest of the competition better watch out."
Owen- "I'm glad Noah decided to not give up."
Noah- "Now that I know Emma is loyal to me, I can actually celebrate my win."
Jen- "Last place to the runner up, i'm starting to pick up the pace."
Jacques- "How did I go from first to second to last?" "I need to get 11 points, I can't go in as a wildcard."

On the podium Owen was on the third place pedestal, Jen was standing on the second place pedestal, and Noah was standing on the winner's pedestal. Two interns then came up, carrying something heavy. "Noah, as the winner of this challenge, I present to you, a grandfather clock" said Don. "You didn't even have to win at Martinsville to get it." Junior then walked up to Noah. "Say Noah, I was thinking I could double date with you and Emma" said Junior. "Okay then, who's your special someone?" asked Noah. "That would be me" said Sanders. Everybody went silent over what just happened. They all seemed shocked, except for Dwayne Senior. "Sweet Lord, Junior and Sanders are a couple" said MacArthur. "When did this happen?" asked Carrie. "We started dating, shortly after I got discharged" said Junior. "You took a big risk asking her out, knowing full well she was five years older than you" said Noah. "He didn't ask me, I asked him" said Sanders. Now everybody was even more shocked. "I had feelings for him since day one, and always thought that he was hot" said Sanders. "You should see him when he takes his shirt off." "Well um, I guess i'm paying for all four of us" said Emma. "Well that's a wrap" said Don. "How are these couples going to evolve?" "Find out next time on, the race around the states."

Authors note: I'm not going to go into detail about every single room at the beginning of each chapter, just the ones that are the most important to the story. I don't want one chapter to drag on for too long.
This story takes place in late 2010. Around this time, the Nitrogen era was still kind of new to Thomas and friends. In my head cannon, NASCAR would take inspiration from this competition's points format, and implement it for next season.
I'm not going to lie, I got emotional when I wrote the Noah x Emma scenes. I feel as though Total Drama didn't have enough emotional moments, and was focusing way too much on silly gags.
The Junior x Sanders ship may seem weird, but it's really hard to pair Junior with anyone, considering how he's the youngest contestant in Total Drama history. And this is to address the scenes where he seems out of character and get's angry all of a sudden. 1. He loves his family, and doesn't want to see them get hurt. 2. He is 100% correct to call out Geoff, what he did to Harold was wrong.
