The episode starts with the camera showing a desk. On the desk is a logo that reads FOX SPORTS. Sitting behind the desk, are three men wearing suits. "Hello and welcome to Daytona Beach Florida, home of the final challenge of the season for the race around the states" said one of the men. "I'm Mike Joy, here with my broadcasting partners Darrell Waltrip, and Larry McReynolds." "Mike, this is a historic city, it's the world center of racing, this is where NASCAR began" said Darrell. "In just two days, the 36 race around the states contestants, are going to participate, in one of the most difficult tasks of their lives" said Larry. "You have all been waiting for this moment, ever since the season started" said Mike Joy. "It all ends right here, this is part one of the finale of, the race around the states."

Intro consists of a shorter version of the final countdown.

The camera then shows Don, standing on highway A1A, on a piece of the asphalt that was painted in a checkered flag pattern. "On February 15 1948, the inaugural race of the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing, was held right here on this track" he said. "Red Byron would win the race, and at the end of the year would be the first ever champion, in what is now known as the NASCAR Whelen modified series." "On February 23 1958, Paul Goldsmith would be the last person to win at this racetrack, until two days from now." "For the final challenge of the race around the states, the contestants will be racing on this course." "Now it's obviously not the same course from decades ago, due to new buildings being placed in the turns." "But, like the old days, the course is still four miles in length." "But unlike the old days, stock cars will not be on this track." "Instead, the contestants will race on foot." "The first contestant to complete 10 laps around the track, will be the winner of the race." "The final challenge of the season is the hardest challenge of the season, a 40 mile foot race." "It's going to take nothing but talent and willpower to win this race." "Now a lot of you are probably wondering, why do we have a podium ceremony at the end of each challenge?" "What are second and third place celebrating, when it's only the winner that get's a prize?" "Well, at the end of each challenge, the top three contestants receive prize money." "First place get's $3,000, second place gets $2,000, and third place gets $1,000." "But with how much skill it's going to take to even finish the race, the prize money for this challenge with be multiplied by 100." "That means the winner of the race, will receive $300,000." "But the much bigger prize, is the one for being the champion of the race around the states." "This prize is awarded to the best contestant of the year, $1,000,000." "Only two contestants are eligible for this massive prize, let's take a look at who they are."

"Kelly is going into this race, with a 33 point lead." "Since the season started, she has proven she is a mom on a mission, and she won't take any crap from anyone, especially her own daughter." "It took her a lot of hard work to get to this point." "All she needs to do is finish thirty third or higher, and she will clinch the million dollars." "However, there is another contestant, that barely has a chance to beat her."

"Dwayne Junior has been to hell and back, ever since his injury over a year ago." "He started off the season slow, but eventually became the first contestant to win consecutive challenges." "He would get into the chase via the wild card spot, and would eventually make it to this point." "But for more than half of the competition, he's had to put his life on the line." "After crashing into a wall at 50 mph, he severely fractured and skull, and got a massive concussion." "Despite how life threatening his injury was, he decided to continue on in the competition." "100% of the time, a professional licensed doctor will not recommend this." "No normal person would attempt something like this, let alone a minor." "But here we are, and Junior is currently hanging on by a thread, still barely in contention." "If he is going to pull off what is arguably the biggest upset victory in reality show history, he needs to finish at least thirty three positions in front of Kelly." "He has the tiebreaker, with four more wins." "Now, let's listen to the contestants who are no longer eligible for the million, and find out who they think deserves to win."

(Confession cam- This is it)

Sanders- "Junior, without question." "He has a lot more willpower than people think." "But I won't deny it, I am very concerned for him." "I don't doubt that he can pull this off, it's his emotional state i'm worried about." "I wish he told me about Sarah a lot sooner, I could have helped him."

Emma- "I feel really guilty about trying to get information out of Junior regarding his problems." "I understand why he didn't want to talk about it." "As much as I want him to win, I need to have realistic expectations." "What he's trying to do in his physical in mental condition, is too much."

Crimson- "I still feel incredibly guilty for causing his first near death experience." "I really hope Junior can pull this off, he's pushed himself beyond his limits to get to this point."

Chet- "Kelly, duh, she's the kind of woman that won't take crap from anyone."

Ryan- "I'm rooting for Kelly, she's incredibly fit for a woman her age."

Taylor- "I'm sorry Junior, I know you've been through a lot, but family always comes first." "Mom, go out there and win it for us."

Jay- "Throughout my whole life i've had to overcome adversity, but I never even thought about running a 40 mile marathon with a cracked skull." "Junior is an inspiration to those who want to achieve more than they think they are capable of."

Leonard- "I'm siding with Kelly, she's one of the very few people that actually cares about my wizard stories." "Which I should point out, are 100% true."

Laurie- "I'm rooting for Junior, but it has nothing to do with the fact that my best friend is in love with him." "I legitimately think that he has suffered too much for a 15 year old, and I want him to have a happy ending."

Harold- "I've broken my skull 14 times throughout my life." "Every single time, I never did anything dangerous during the recovery process." "Junior is very brave to do what he is doing." "Not only that, he actually stood up for me, and made the world realize that I am a human being." "I will be forever grateful to him, go win this thing kid."

Owen- "There are several people that doubt Junior's chance of survival." "But if I can get crushed by a 900,000 pound plane and live to tell the tale, I guess anything is possible."

Kitty- "As much as I want Junior to win, I have to be realistic." "My sisters wedding is going to have to be postponed." "Instead of attending her wedding on the first of January, we are going to be attending Junior's funeral."

Noah- "Well Junior, if you've made it this far, you might as well go all the way." "After this competition is over, you're sitting in the front row at my wedding."

Lorenzo- "Kelly is a total badass, she has got this thing won."

Ennui- "In hindsight, me and Crimson probably shouldn't have adopted a wild animal." "We would have been better off going to the pet store." "It's our fault Junior is currently traumatized, we just hope he's going to be okay."

Tammy- "I'm going with Kelly, she's one of the very few people, that actually gives a damn about magic."

Geoff- "Even though Junior hasn't said one nice thing about me since the season started, I really hope he's going to be okay."

Jen- "Kelly, she has great taste in fashion."

MacArthur- "I've said it once, and i'll say it again." "Junior is old enough to make as many dangerous decisions as he wants."

Stephanie- "Kelly is the definition of a female athlete." "I have no doubt in my mind that she can win."

Mary- "I never thought i'd meet somebody who knows more about cars than me." "I respect Junior for that."

Miles- "Of course i'm rooting for Junior, his is my number one favorite person, of the opposite gender." "Nothing will ever stop me from loving him." "If only he told his dad about what he saw, the second he woke up after surgery." "He'd be much better off right now."

Jacques- "Junior, don't hate yourself for not telling your dad sooner." "I have also done things that i'm not proud of."

Brody- "I've been entering and re entering this competition more than anyone else, and every time it was because of a health problem." "Junior on the other hand, has a lot more guts than I do." "He has a legit shot at winning, but once this show is over, he's gonna have to take a very long nap."

Pete- "Kelly is way more tough than me." "I started having back pains ten years before I was her age."

Rock- "I'm rooting for Kelly, if for no other reason, than she is the mother of my crush."

Spud- "I like to think of Kelly as a sister."

Ellody- "I'm rooting for Junior, but my hopes aren't that high." "His odds of winning this whole thing, are the same odds a Martin Truex Jr winning a Sprint Cup championship."

Dwayne- "Do I seriously need to say who it is?" "Of course it's Junior." "Oh my God, I have been a horrible parent." "I should have told Junior about Sarah years ago." "Think of how much better his life would be right now." "Why have child care services not tried to take him away from me?" "I am a horrible excuse for a father." "I wouldn't blame Junior in the slightest, if he didn't love me anymore."

Tom- "Kelly is very stylish, i'm rooting for her."

Josee- "Junior is the reason why me and Jacques turned our lives around." "We didn't think much of Sanders and Devin's injuries, because they ultimately survived." "Junior on the other hand is completely different, because unlike the other two instances, he was actually unconscious." "Not to mention he was bleeding to death." "He's the reason why we stopped doing bad things to people, because anyone on this planet can die any day, and they shouldn't have to spend their life being bullied."

Gerry- "Kelly's got this thing won." "I'm amazed at the things she did, that I couldn't do when I was younger."

Carrie- "I still can't believe he had a crush on me at one point." "Junior has grown quite a lot since then." "He didn't do anything to deserve all the bad things that have happened to him." "I really hope he can get through this."

Izzy- "Massive respect for Junior, he's the reason why my husband's life is good." "If he ever wants to spend the night was with us, he's more than welcome to, any day of the year." "If me and Harold already have sex plans, we're putting them on hold." "As much as I would love to have Junior join us in a threesome, he would never agree to it."

Leshawna - "Dang, I have been a total jerk to that kid." "I 100% regret accusing him of injuring himself on purpose." "I'm sorry Junior, you don't deserve to be treated unfairly."

Mickey- "As you can see, I am wearing two eye patches." "With me not having any eyes, something has to cover these massive holes." "Even though I won't be able to see it, I would love to hear Junior win this whole thing." "He is the second bravest person i've ever met, with number one being my brother."

Courtney- "Junior is not the annoying brat I thought he was." "It's because of him, that I just realized how horrible of a person I am." "I have no chance in my trial coming up." "But in terms of Junior winning this whole thing, he does have a chance."

Devin- "As you can see, I have gone completely bald." "My cancer is still horrible, but i'm getting better." "I really want Junior to win this whole thing, he has proven that he is more than just a kid." "He can do this, I believe in him."

Zoey- "I've known Junior since he was a little kid, and I never knew he had a sister." "Now that I know that's what's been traumatizing him, I can't help but feel bad for him." "He's always been like a little brother to me, and I hate watching him suffer."

Dawn- "I actually knew about Sarah Santori this entire time." "I know that Sarah is rooting for Junior up there in heaven." "Junior, I know you're really upset right now, but Sarah would want you to go on." "Win it for her."

Duncan- "Of course i'm rooting for Kelly, there is no way in hell I will ever support Junior." "First, he has the audacity to try and accuse me of framing him for pulling the fire alarm, when he knows damn well for a fact the incident was his fault." "Then, he thinks he can use the claim that he misses the sister he never met, as an excuse to be an asshole to everyone around him." "I hope Junior dies on lap one, he deserves to burn in hell."

Lindsay- "I'm rooting for Kelly, because's she's the prettiest contestant." "She's even prettier than me."

**End confessional**

The camera then cuts back to Don. "Chris was the only contestant we couldn't get an opinion from, he's still in the hospital" he said. "Now, allow me to explain how the race is going to work." "The race will start the exact same way as a NASCAR race." "All of the contestants are going to follow me to the start/finish line in rows of two." "The starting lineup will be determined by where they are in the point standings." "Contestants starting in the odd number positions will start on the inside lane." "The even numbered contestants will be on the outside." "As Kelly is the leader, she has the option to start the race on the outside, putting Junior on the inside." "When we get close to the start/finish line, I am going to get off the track." "Passing me before I get off the track, will result in disqualification." "Everyone is to stay in line, until they see the green flag, then they can take off." "Speeding up before the green flag waves, will result in disqualification." "Lane changes are not allowed to be made until they cross the start/finish line, nor is passing another contestant." "Doing either of these things will result in disqualification." "If a contestant goes a lap down during the race, and the leader takes the checkered flag, the lap down contestant be scored as finishing the race the next time they cross the start/finish line." "This is it, two more days, we will crown a winner." "Tune in next time to see who it is on, the race around the states."

Authors note: With the sport of NASCAR being a major inspiration for this fanfic, it was inevitable that it would end with a NASCAR related challenge. The idea for the season finale being at the exact same place NASCAR started, was planned out before I even started writing this story.

Contrary to popular belief, the Chicago street race is not going to be the first time the NASCAR cup series races on a street course. It's actually Daytona Beach. And the section of road in question being closed off for this to be a street course, was a part of highway A1A.
