It was with great reluctance that Kurama left Night Raven, however he was beyond pleased that he had reconnected with his missing kit. Even better was that Professor Crewel was able to brew a potion that confirmed beyond any doubt that Riddle was Kurama's child, not this "Rosehearts" woman. It was yet another nail in her coffin, as he had identified her husband as the one who mortally wounded him.

Which meant her husband had been the one to likely kidnap his daughter, and the man's wife had abused the child to the point they were forced to develop certain abilities far too early while attempting to suppress their natural magics.

Needless to say it was fortunate the woman was already in custody, because Kurama would have happily broken parole to murder her in as messy a fashion as possible.

He was just glad his kit had found a safe harbor to let her defenses down and show her true nature. Cater had added him to the special server, which he planned to make public later with permission from Riddle. It was nice to have some proper photos of his kit, and the knowledge that Cater was more than happy to send him more direct.

"Have a fun trip?" asked Botan, Yusuke's reaper friend.

"I found where my daughter went," said Kurama. "I'm glad she's doing well."

"That's great...wait, daughter?" said Botan.

"I lost her when I was forced to reincarnate," explained Kurama. "My guess is the hunter who nearly killed me mistook her for a human child."

He didn't mind the fact Riddle texted him every day, eager to learn more about his actual mother.

All too soon, the finals ended in Night Raven. Which meant Riddle could chose to stay in the school...or they could come to Japan for a short time and spend a week or two. Yuu was tempted to come as well, but her parents were going on vacation since their daughter was now in college.

Kurama felt it said volumes that his kit had opted to wander around in her original gender, not her male form. He made sure to hug his daughter tightly when she arrived.

It was good to have his kit back.

Alyssa yawned as she reluctantly got out from under the covers. Meeting her grandmother had been...awkward...to say the least. Shiori had always suspected there was something odd about her son, but there was no denying he did love his mother so she had put it out of mind.

Learning her child was in reality a 300 year old kitsune who had been forced to jump bodies had come as a shock, but it was nothing compared to learning she now also had a granddaughter as well.

In order to avoid confusion (and so she didn't have to explain this to her boyfriend or his son just yet), Alyssa had agreed to pretend she was a 'cousin' and to call her mother 'big brother' instead. Honestly, with how close they were in age it was a lot less awkward to explain overall.

Shiori refused to let Alyssa stay in a hotel, however temporary. To that end, Alyssa was spending her break from school in the small spare room.

It was much smaller than her old room, or the one she gained as a housewarden...but the warmth and love inside more than made up for it.

Her grandmother was going to take her shopping for essentials, since all she had were hand-me-downs from Cater's sister. Though she had no female undergarments, hence the need for a shopping trip.

Once she had properly woken up, she looked at her MagiCam account. She had two of them, one for both genders.

As far as anyone needed to know, Riddle simply had a twin he didn't talk about who liked to cosplay as a Night Raven student of his dorm.

Hearing a noise, Alyssa looked at her MagiCam, which was also part of the special server.

She nearly spat out her milk when she realized that the "Alyssa-hime" server had apparently gone public.

She was going to murder Cater, because he was the admin and was the only one who could make the switch.

He seemed to be expecting her call, because he answered after the first ring.

"Yo, Alyssa-hime!" said Cater cheerfully.

"Cater...why did you make the server public?"

"I figured since you're spending some much needed bonding time with your real family away from this mess, it was a good time to go public. Give the dust a chance to settle before you get back," said Cater. "So what's it like on Yuu's side of the world?"

"It's different. Mages are nonexistent here," admitted Alyssa. She had come to view Cater as an older brother, but that didn't mean she was going to let him off the hook for not giving her any warning. "Also, my grandmother was very surprised learning about our true nature or that they had a daughter the same 'age' as her son."

"I can bet!" laughed Cater. It had been awkward enough learning that Alyssa's mother was currently in the body of a guy about the same age as she was, despite being over 300. "How did she handle it?"

"If anyone asks, I'm a close cousin from a different country,"said Alyssa. "Also, I call them 'big brother' since it's far less of a headache explaining things."

She spotted her mother walk in, and said a few pleasantries before hanging up.

"Was that one of your friends?" asked Kurama pleasantly.

"Cater-nii," she replied.

Kurama hummed. He rather approved of Alyssa's little group of friends. Che'nya was rather amusing, Trey was slightly overprotective, and Cater was a good influence on her.

Alyssa was rather glad that she had gotten a few new outfits to exercise in. Kurama had mentioned something about seeing exactly what sort of abilities she had, since his line of work drew enemies like crazy.

Kurama took out his preferred weapon, which was a familiar whip he created using a rose. He looked rather delighted when Alyssa clumsily pulled out her own whip.

By the end of it she was tired, sweaty...and smiling so broadly that almost nothing would be able to wipe it from her face. Her mother was strict, but not in a harmful way like the woman who had 'raised' her. Kurama had given her gentle encouragement in between quietly correcting her whip technique. A few times he had paused to show her how to correct hold the weapon while using little twists and flicks to aim it properly. While she was still rather clumsy with it, she had shown strong improvement over the past two hours.

Once they had cleaned up and eaten, Kurama and Alyssa went over her other abilities.

Alyssa had definitely inherited her father's fiery nature and tsundere temperament (something that had her pouting so cutely that Kurama had to coo at her for several minutes). While her physical form was that of a kitsune, and her dorm had helped her to settle her identity as such, she still struggled with properly connecting to her 'male' persona.

Riddle was peripherally aware of his other self, but had yet to fully accept it. It meant that any switches were purely accidental, rather than intentional and he only had limited memories while he was Alyssa. It was still a work in progress, one Kurama hoped to correct before she graduated.

Her ability to control plants was very limited at the moment, though she had inherited Kurama's knack towards alchemy and gardening. He was somewhat amused that Alyssa had somehow figured out how to create a thorn blade on top of the rose whip she had inherited from him.

Overall, he was both happy she had learned such difficult abilities so young...and furious that it was the result of her upbringing from someone who hated youkai.

"Nii-san, there's some weird bugs outside," said Alyssa. She had woken up to the sound of the buzzing and it was driving her nuts.

Shiori looked outside and saw nothing unusual.

Kurama however frowned.

"What idiot set these loose?" he said, grabbing one before it got near his mother.

"What is it?" asked Alyssa.

"Makai bugs," he said absently. "Only the spiritually sensitive can see them, which is likely why mother can't. They're considered pests, but they can still possess people so they can be slightly dangerous. This amount is rather ridiculous though."

Shiori would have said something...if she hadn't seen their neighbor suddenly 'snap' and attack a random passerby through the window.

Kurama swiftly knocked him out with a single blow. Shiori was wide-eyed.

"Mother, I think it's safer if you stayed inside today," he said calmly, eyebrow twitching.

Considering she could see others acting strangely, and in violent ways, she didn't argue.

Kurama was in the middle of setting up a special barricade around the home when he got a call from Koenma.

"Let me guess, it's about the infestation outside," he said dryly.

"I'm sending Yusuke to deal with it," said Koenma, confirming his guess. "The Four Saint Beasts are demanding their freedom and have claimed responsibility for the pests."

Kurama hummed.

"I'll go grab Hiei...and I'll be bringing my kit with me," said Kurama.

"Are you sure that's wise?"

"She's a trained mage, and this would be a good test of her ability. Besides, fire magic and enclosed spaces do not mix, particularly in residential areas," said Kurama dryly. Alyssa stared at him wide-eyed.

Shiori was not happy, but trusted her son.

"Just...just come home safe," she said.

"We will mother," said Kurama, hugging her. Alyssa gave her one as well.

Kurama lifted the barrier slightly, and the two were off. Alyssa's stamina was acceptable, but at the speeds Hiei favored she would likely be left behind.

Which was why Kurama had her shift into her kitsune form, which fit into the new bag he had gotten recently. He had mostly picked it up as a joke, because he planned to surprise Hiei with her later.

He just wasn't expecting it to be under these circumstaces.

Two hours later...

"Fox. What's in the bag?" asked Hiei. That had been bothering him since Kurama had come to get him.

"It's a surprise. I'd rather wait until we meet up with Yusuke first."

"Hn."

Hiei gave the bag a suspicious look when it moved at that. Clearly there was something in there.

Kurama had to blink at the second human with Yusuke. No one had told him about this.

"Kurama!" said Yusuke with relief.

Seeing the weaker demons part was very satisfying. They knew their place after all.

"What's with the bag?" asked Kuwabara, the other human.

The bag began to wriggle, and Kurama gently set it down. He undid the zipper, and Alyssa immediately got out. She shook her fur out, before she took on her human form.

"That...was deeply unpleasant," she complained.

"I know, but it was the fastest way to catch up to Yusuke and his friend," said Kurama.

Hiei stared at Alyssa, who was in her dorm uniform. Mostly because of the protection spells on it.

"Kurama...who is this?" he demanded, eyes twitching.

"Who's the chibi?" said Kuwabara. "She's even smaller than this shrimp."

"This is Alyssa...my daughter."

You could hear the record track stop abruptly in the brains of the humans.

"Daughter?! Wait, you have a kid?"

"Yusuke, I'm several centuries old. Of course I know what sex is."

"Seriously, with that baby face?" said Kuwabara dubiously.

"This from the pair of envious virgins," snarked Kurama.

"HEY!" came the duo responses from the blushing humans.

"Daughter?" repeated Hiei, looking slightly hurt.

"I had her before I transmigrated into this body," said Kurama. "She's fully youkai, though a mixed breed. She is predominantly kitsune."

That seemed to ease Hiei's mind slightly. Yoko Kurama was hardly celibate in his previous form after all, and he had a lot of admirers.

Kurama was privately wondering how long it would take Hiei to realize that Alyssa was his daughter as well. It was sure to be entertaining...for Kurama that is.
