Chapter 1: It all begins.

Emily's POV

I remember when I was a shy little girl, nothing like what I'm now. I remember being the girl that sat on the back of the classroom, the one that never attended any school events or didn't go out and played outside with other kids, the one that would run down the halls and spent lunch time hiding in the school restrooms. I was the one that everyone laughed at. The weird one, the quiet one, the freak.

My name is Emily Fields. I have lived in this hell-hole town named Rosewood. My father Wayne Fields was a Lieutenant colonel. My mother Pam Fields worked at an office on the Police Department, both strict but loving parents. I remember my father taught me how to swim at the age of 5. By the age of 10 I already knew how to shoot small firearms and how to fight thanks to him. He said that I had to learn how to defend and take care of myself and my mom if he was ever gone. I spent most of my teenage years hanging by myself. I was happy being alone, the only people I needed by my side were my parents. Unfortunately, one day, a drunk driver crashed my parents on a night out. My grandma came down to Rosewood so I could finish school.

During my high school years nothing much changed. I was always sitting alone, listening how everyone gossiped about one another. Everyone noticed that I didn't say much, but not that I listened a lot. You learn so much by being the quiet one. Girls saw me in the restroom and still talked shit about others, they knew I wouldn't say a word, but don't they say that the quiet people have the loudest minds? They also say that they can be the most dangerous. Just before graduating I started hanging out with Toby, we meet each other in detention one Saturday after we got in trouble for making two student fight during one of our gym classes. We tough it was funny.

Since that day, my life changed. I started hanging with Toby outside of school, we would walk around at night, we discovered and learned every inch of this town. I remember we would help his dad fix cars in his garage on Sundays while her mom made cooked outside in the griddle. A couple months after graduating, Toby's parents died when their car lost control on the road when they were going to pick up Toby's stepsister Jenna from the school for the blind.

I'm 22 years old now. My grandma left as soon as I turned 21. I was able to keep my parents' house and bought my first car with the money they gave me when my grandma died a couple months later. You can see me as a normal girl, but I'm not. My friends are the type of friend that your parents will describe as 'bad influence'. We smoke, drink, sell drugs, steal, and rob. Sometimes we kidnap people (but we never hurt them) we do it only to get their parent's money. We throw a lot of parties, and we go to a lot too. I always end up hooking up with random girls (yes, I'm a lesbian). In addition, I work at a car shop, the most famous here in Rosewood, the place where everything happens.

Toby and I started working there after we met Noel. He was a cool guy but was known for always starting fights in the local bars. His parents owned the shop, but they decided to move to another city when his dad decided he was too old to keep working, so he left Noel in charge of the business. We started to know a lot of people that lived in Rosewood since it was a very popular place to bring their car to get fixed. On the outside, it looked like a very friendly family-owned business, but nobody could have guessed that on the other side of the wall we hid very dark secrets.

I had money, my own house, I didn't have to depend on no one. I had nothing to worry about. But today, I'm here… in a prison, locked up in a cell with nothing but my own thoughts. Want to know how I ended up here? I feel in love with the victim.

Emily's POV *Flashback*

It was a hot Saturday morning. I woke up and turned my head to the side to look at the long-haired girl sleeping besides me. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and checked the time; 9:00 AM. I slowly got out of bed and made my way to the restroom. My head was pounding, and the room was spinning, as usual, I had a terrible hangover. I washed my mouth and my face when I heard a voice outside the restroom.

"Emily?" said the sleepy voice and walked out of the restroom.

"Hey…uhm?" Shit what's her name? I thought

"Paige" she replied rolling her eyes.

"Oh yeah, Paige… I must go to work so…"

"You want me to leave, I know" she interrupted standing up and getting her clothes from the floor.

I started looking for clean clothes in my drawers as she walked out of the room. I took a quick shower and went to the kitchen to grab some breakfast. After about 15 minutes, I grabbed my keys and took off to the car shop.

"What's up Toby?" I said entering the office.

Toby who was sitting at the desk eating an egg and bacon sandwich looked up and nodded 'hey'.

"I want you guys to get started on Veronica Hastings car as soon as possible, she said she was going to pick it up today" said Noel, entering the room. Veronica was a very well-known woman; she was currently running for State Senator, she was very rich and very powerful, her family owned the best lawyer firm in Rosewood.

I nodded and walked towards the shop and started working on Veronica's car, minutes later Toby joined me. We finished like 45 minutes later, I called Veronica's phone and left a message on her voice mail when she didn't answer letting her know her can was ready 'Hello Mrs. Veronica, we are calling form Kahn's Car Repair just to let you know your vehicle is ready for pick up'.

About an hour later during the day, me and Toby were working in another car on the shop's garage when two girls around my age walked in.

"Good afternoon, can we help you ladies?" said Toby cleaning his hands with a cloth.

"We are here to pick my mom's car, Veronica Hastings, she said she called to let you guys know I was going to pick it up instead of her," said the tall brunette. I remember seeing her when I was in high school, she was Spencer Hastings, Veronica's daughter. She was the rich, popular smart girl that everybody talked about.

"Yes" said Toby "Follow me please, I just need to get some signatures and your ID" he led her to the office.

The tall brunette followed Toby into the office while the other girl stood in the middle of the garage. I recognized her from school too, her name was Alison Dilaurentis, the second most rich girl in town; her family owned a modeling company. She was looking down at her phone, so I decided to leave her there. As I closed the hood of the car, I was working on she called.

"Excuse me?" she said.

"Yes?" I replied tuning around to face her.

"Do you think you can check my car; it's making this weird noise and I don't know what it is" she said looking out at her car.

"Sure" I said walking towards the car as she followed me. I opened the car hood and looked for any problems. "It looks like you just need an oil change" I said, and we just looked at each other for a couple seconds.

"Oh, okay" she said with a laugh "How long would it take you to change it?" she asked.

"About 30 minutes" I replied closing the hood and leaning against her car.

"Do you have time today to do that? I can leave it here right now and come pick it up later" she said.

"Yeah, I'm just going to need your name and a deposit" I replied.

"Sounds good" she said with a smile.

"Come with me please" I said and walked towards the office. "Can I please get your ID?" I asked.

"Yeah" she said looking in her wallet "here" she handed me her ID.

I wrote her name and her address.

"Here you go" I said handing her ID. "Sign here please and I'm gonna need your phone number in case I find a problem or finish it earlier" I said giving her the paper so she could write her phone number.

"Here you go, how much is it going to be?" she asked giving me the paper back. I told her the amount and she paid me with her credit card.

"Ready?" said Spencer approaching us.

"Yes. Thank you so much..." she said extending her hand.

"Emily…Emily Fields" I said, we shook hands, and they walked out the office.

"Was that the one and only Alison Dilaurentis?" said Noel entering the shop.

"Yup" said Toby.

"And her friend was Spencer Hasting, right?" he replied looking at both of us.

"Yes?" I said confused.

"How much do you think their rich parents would pay for them?" He said with a grin.

I looked at Toby

"I know they have the big bucks" he said smiling.

"I think we just found our next guest" Noel said crossing his arms.

I looked at him with wide eyes.I know where this is going! I thought.
