Chapter 30: Boris's Redemption

We escaped Vox Videos and were outside of a retail store. A Hellhound from Boris's pack got a hold of him.

"Thanks mates." He said, "I'll take Boris home."

He walked away with Boris around him. Lars and Willow sighed.

"Wow… A factory full of overworked employees that also creates the same accidents like Vox…" Willow said, "And they're also part of a giant tech company in Pride!"

"They sure are…" Lars said,

"Well, at least Vox didn't know about our existence." Cattleya said,

Then, the TVs standing inside of the retail store started to static. Vox's show was on.

"A little quickie of a breaking news to ya from Overlord Vox!" Vox said on the news, "At 12PM sharp, a couple of brats appeared in and out of Vox Videos! How is that possible if they never even went INSIDE of Vox Videos?!"

We were shocked.

"Which is why I have the full details!" Vox continues, "On July 9th, I will be on my morning show to talk about these brats and their secret, once and for all! Stay tuned!"

The news ended as the TVs were shut off.

"That bastard!" Lars shouted, "He already knows and is already plotting to expose us!"

"This guy is quicker and powerful than the other two Overlords…" Cattleya said, "And me and my big mouth…"

"Well, now we just gotta wait for Boris. I don't know if we should have him on our team, considering the behavior he has with us…"

"We'll just have to wait and find out. For now, let's get out of here before anyone suspects us."

Fast forwarding to many months later. Bernie was still interrogating me.

"So your next member was a Hellhound from Gluttony who was one of two victims of these cases where Overlord Vox took away their loved ones…" Bernie said, "The other member is way different, am I right?"

"...Yes." I replied,

"That's it? Just a yes?"

Bernie slammed the table with his hands.

"That Hellhound is strong and deadly at first sight!" He said, "He could rip my neck off!"

I was silent.

"Sorry… Got carried away, again." Bernie said, "Being a demon from Envy is no easy task. Now, continue with the story."

I was back in The Hazbin Hotel. Angel Dust invited his best friend over. She was a cyclops demon with hair resembling a stick of dynamite.

"So this Trevor imp from Sloth is liking ya?" Angel asked her,

"Yeah, and it's kinda weird." She replied,

"Don't worry, if he tried to make ya feel weird, just kick his ass."

"Oh yeah, that's exactly what I will do! Just hope that they don't find it cool."

She looked at the clock.

"I'm gonna head out." She said, "Thanks for inviting me."

"No problem, Sugar Tits." Angel Dust said,

Sugar Tits?

The girl turned to me.

"What's up?" She said, "Name's Cherri Bomb."

"...Ren Amamiya." I said,

Cherri Bomb left the hotel. I turned to Angel.

"Who's Trevor?" I asked him,

"None of ya business, kid." He replied back,

June 18th. I was still in the hotel after me and Lars had a shift together.

"Man…" Lars said, "I'm still suspecting Boris. What's he gonna do when we meet him again?"

"I don't know." I replied,

"Yeah, I'm on the same boat too… Whatever happens, I sure hope he learned his lesson or something…"

Cattleya and Willow meanwhile entered the hotel with a female Hellhound. She turned to Vaggie, who was taking over Charlie while she was away.

"Hey, how can I help you?" Vaggie said,

"Is Ren and Lars here?" The Hellhound asked, "We're here to pick them up."

"Go do whatever with them. They're done with their shift."

We saw the Hellhound with Willow and Cattleya.

"Boris wants to speak with you mates." She said,

"Oh boy…" Lars said, "Alright, we'll be there."

We then went to an alleyway where Boris was sitting by himself.

"I'll leave you mates alone." The Hellhound said as she walked away,

Boris looked at us.

"You got something to say?" Lars asked,

Boris sighed.

"I suppose I haven't told you guys what I'm really doing this for…" He said, "My life's been a roller coaster of emotions…"

Cattleya then squats.

"You can tell us everything." She said,

Boris took a deep breath.

"I'm from Gluttony." He replied, "My parents are as well… They were killed in an accident caused by electricity, and since we're all here and know who, it was caused by Overlord Vox."

Boris closed his eyes.

"Me and my brother Lindsey were taken to a pound where we were tortured." They said, "But I took it all since I don't want anything bad to happen to Lindsey…"

Lars looked down.

"Then, we were given a home in Pride to ourselves, luckily…" Boris continued, "And since I was becoming an adult, I would still take care of Lindsey since he was still a minor…"

Willow was focused.

"Then when I found happiness again after Vox took my parents, I found love." Boris continued, "Another male Hellhound found me attractive and we dated for 2 months… It ended so quickly because of… Vox. He took his life the same way he took my parents' lives…"

Boris felt disgusted.

"And then I started a pack just to unleash my frustration on anyone that's not my brother in my way!" He said, "And I did that just to hide my emotions and my truth!"

We were all sorry for Boris. Boris was about to cry. He then looked at us.

"I'm sorry for everything I've done to you guys…" They said, "From messing with you to stalking you over not trusting my brother or being suspicious, I'm sorry…"

Boris got up.

"Please, give me another chance!" He said, "I'll make it up to you guys, I swear!"

"You wanna turn around?" Lars said,

"Yes! That's the only thing I'll ever do! Please!"

Cattleya turned to me as she got up as well.

"What do you think, Ren?" She asked me, "Do you want to give Boris another chance?"

"I think he'll do fine on this team." I replied,

Boris took a deep breath in relief.

"Thank you…" He said, "Thank you very much you guys… I'll try and not let you guys down…"

Lars sighed.

"You and I are on the same boat in terms of families getting hurt by accidents caused by Vox…" He said, "And I don't know how Mom survived that."

"Sorry about your Mom…" Boris said, "She's paralyzed from the waist down, yeah?"

"Yeah…"

Willow sighed as well.

"Well, I guess we should call it quits now." She said, "Anyone hungry?"

"I am." Boris replied, "Talking about my feelings really made me hungry…"

"Alright, let's go find somewhere to eat."

Lars, Cattleya and Willow walked. Boris stayed to talk to me.

"Ren Amamiya, yes?" He asked me, "You're kinda cool for a nerd."

"Thank you." I said, "You're kinda nerdy for someone who's cool."

Boris sighed.

"I'm not that nerdy, but I get the picture…" He said, "Hey, do you want my contact?"

"Sure." I said,

"You're the leader, right?"

"I am."

"I'm gonna say it again. I won't let you down."

"I know."

Me and Boris are finally getting to know one another.

Fast forwarding to many months later. Bernie was still interrogating me.

"It appears you were making a certain conglomerate." He said to me, "You were infiltrating a company building, which is only a possibility that there's a connection with that person or two."

I was silent.

"Tell me about one of them." Bernie continued,

Back to the present moment. A voice spoke to me.

"I am thou... Thou art I…

Me and Boris have formed a bond together. The past is now the past as we can now look into a future together.

"Anyways, you hungry too?" Boris asked, "Come on, the others are probably waiting by now."

We went with our friends to eat a meal together.
