Chapter 35: Vox's Treasure and Calling Card

June 27th. I was with Jasmine as she taught me some aerobics. For a snake demon, she's somehow pretty good at it.

"The key is to warm-up with a few stretches!" She said,

"A few stretches. Got it." I said,

Jasmine and I did some stretches together.

"Ok!" Jasmine said, "That's enough stretching! Come back and I'll take you to a gym! That's where the fun part comes in!"

"Looking forward to it." I said,

My bond with Jasmine is slowly growing.

June 28th. Me and my friends were discussing on the treasure in Vox's Palace after I told them about his rivalry with Alastor.

"Pathetic piece of shit." Lars said, "Hates another Overlord's guts for looking different? What an ass."

Willow was on her phone when she saw The Hazbin Hotel getting negative reviews online.

"Well, his fans sure as hell did all the work after he talked shit about the hotel." She said, "Look at the negative reviews!"

Willow shows us the negative reviews.

"I bet they never even visited the place." Boris said, "They just looked at the place and review bombed it like it's nothing!"

"I can tell that Charlie is just an innocent sinner here when I saw her face a while ago." Selene said, "So much effort down the drain all thanks to some monster of an Overlord…"

"And she's only the daughter of Lucifer."

Lucifer…

"And now another Overlord is helping her…" Lars said, "That Radio Demon sure has a story to tell, but mostly bored us."

"Doesn't bore me." I said,

"Yeah, you're different."

Cattleya then looked at the Phantom Phan-site on her phone.

"Looks like Vox's so-called fans have damaged the Phantom Phan-site." She said,

Boris looked at the website from his phone.

"Oh come on! They're not even fans!" Boris said, "I think Vox is using his employees to create those accounts and bomb shit online for him!"

"Huh, that's a possible reason…" Cattleya said,

Boris sighed.

"Someone's gotta go into his palace and give Vox an ass whooping!" He said, "And that's gonna be us!"

"Right!" I said, "Let's go in there and find the treasure!"

We all agreed. The bond in our team is slowly growing.

We then entered The Cognitive World Of Hell to go to Vox's Palace to find the treasure. We searched until we came across a door with a passcode.

"What's the passcode?" Boris wondered, "I don't know the passcode."

"I think I know." Selene replied, "It's very obvious."

Selene entered 0666 as the passcode. The doors opened.

"Well, nice one, Selene!" Cattleya said as she gasped, "Oh yeah! We need to give you a code name!"

"A code name?" Selene wonder,

"Well you're a Phantom Thief now, so a code name is important if you want to keep your identity a secret."

"Hmm… Something artistic that represents me."

"Artist?" Lars wonder,

"No! Look at what I'm wearing! My mask is a work of art!"

"How about Eclipse?" I suggested,

"Ah! Eclipse! I like that!"

"Alright, welcome aboard, Eclipse!" Cattleya said, "With that out of the way, let's get to stealing!"

Once we entered, we saw more guards as they were guarding the door. They saw us and turned into Shadows.

"Oh great! Company!" Cattleya said,

"Let's get to work!" Selene said as she took off her mask, "Evaki!"

Evaki appeared and blasted out Mazionga lightning at the Shadows. One survived while two were defeated.

"Let me finish him off!" Willow said as she took off her mask too, "Neith!"

Neith then finished the last Shadow with its Zionga lightning.

Later, we stopped at a part of the factory where there's platforms and security lasers.

"Oh wow, that looks impossible to get through." Selene said,

"Let's stop right here." Cattleya said, "We have until July 9th to think of what to do!"

June 29th. I went to the gym with Jasmine.

"Although I have a snake tail, I'm pretty athletic with or without it." She said to me, "But I've taught some sinners here with legs. Even both legs and a powerful tail. Ha ha."

Jasmine then got me started by challenging an obstacle course.

"Can you make it through this obstacle course with what you got?" She asked me,

"I can try." I replied,

I got through half of the obstacle course no problem, as I was stuck near a wall with a rope in the middle.

"You just gotta climb up the wall with the rope." Jasmine said,

"This feels like boot camp." I said,

Jasmine chuckled a bit.

"Sure it is, but I'm sure you can do it." She said,

I took a deep breath and did some stretches. Jasmine was surprised.

"I see you've learned from me." She said as she chuckled some more,

I smiled as I climbed up the wall with the rope and made it through the other side by jumping into a ball pit of some sort.

"Voila!" Jasmine said, "You did it!"

I made Jasmine happy.

June 30th. We were in the room again where security lasers and beams were placed. A bridge wasn't formed yet.

"Still gotta find a way to get to the other side…" Cattleya said, "But how?"

I stepped forward.

"Leave it to me." I said,

I performed some aerobics by dodging through the lasers and got on a platform. Everyone else was impressed.

"How did he get all that athleticism?" Boris said, shocked.

I then used a grappling hook to fire near a poll and swing to another platform where a door and a button were held. I pressed the button as the bridge was formed, but the lasers were still there. The others then dodged the lasers with no problem.

"You gotta teach us that athleticism you got!" Cattleya said, "Impressive as hell!"

"Thanks." I said, "And I will after we change Vox's heart."

We headed up the factory more. On the way, we took down more guards as we saw a door leading to Shadow Vox's meeting room. We opened it and noticed it was empty, however, we saw the treasure right in front of us on the stage. It was the same glowing sphere as before.

"What is that?" Boris wonder,

"That's the treasure!" Cattleya said,

"Doesn't look like a treasure Vox would have." Selene said,

We took a closer look at it.

"Not yet." Cattleya said, "But it will take shape once we send out a calling card to Vox in the real world."

"Oh? Can I help decorate it?" Selene wonder,

"Hell yeah! We needed an artist like you!"

"Can I display it?" Boris asked, "I want to see if I can display at good locations around Pride."

"Yes! We need extra help anyways! Now, with Selene around, this might take an extra day for us to prepare."

"Understandable." Lars said,

"Fair." Willow said,

"Sounds reasonable." I said,

July 1st. I was with Lars and Willow after a shift in Rosie's Emporium and after Lars had a shift in the Hazbin Hotel.

"So tomorrow we'll deliver the calling cards out to Overlord Vox…" Willow said,

"Yeah…" Lars said, "Can't believe this is the last of The VVVOverlords we're changing the heart of."

"You, Cattleya and Ren here have changed the hearts of them more than me, Boris and Selene!"

"Well the team has gotten bigger! So The Phantom Thieves Of Hell in general have changed the hearts of the first two Overlords!"

"I guess that can count as credit for the whole team and future teammates."

"Will there be any future teammates after we change Vox's heart?" I wonder,

"...Who knows actually." Lars said, "We might get to Lucifer next if we have the chance."

"Heh, do we even know what Lucifer did?" Willow wonder,

"Uhhh… Abuse the system?"

Willow laughed.

"Needs to be more than that!" She said, "Man, you crack me up, Lars."

Willow then kissed Lars on his face. Lars blushed.

"I forgot we're a couple…" Lars said,

"I just realized that when you made me laugh." Willow said, "You're a real funny bunny."

Lars blushed more and chuckled.

"You hear that Ren?" Lars said, "She called me a funny bunny…"

"Average lovebirds." I said as I sighed,

July 2nd. The day where we sent out calling cards to Overlord Vox.

Vox was in Vox Videos, preparing for his morning show.

"Places everyone!" A director said, "Vox's Morning Show will be on-air in 10 minutes!"

A camerawoman tapped Vox on his left shoulder.

"O-Overlord Vox?" She asked him,

"What?" Vox said to her, "What do you want now?"

"Can I pull you away for a moment?"

Vox sighed as he went with the camerawoman.

"What?" He asked her, "Is it another love letter to one of my shitty fans?"

"N-No…" She replied, "It's worse."

The camerawoman then gives Vox a letter.

"Open it…" She said, "And then I'll read it…"

Vox sighed as he opened the letter to reveal the calling card. He saw a new logo than the usual calling cards. The "TAKE YOUR HEART" caption was still at the bottom. He was confused as he flipped to see a message.

"Wh-What the fuck?" He said,

The camerawoman read the following:

"Overlord Vox,

The Killer Slacker of Sloth

You lazily use your power and overworked employees to torture lives into accidents as you stay silent on the continuing issues happening. That's why, we have decided to make you confess your crimes with your own mouth. We will take your distorted desires without fail.

From, The Phantom Thieves."

The camerawoman then gulped.

"It's bad, isn't it?" She said,

Vox then crumbled up the calling card.

"What a bunch of bullshit!" He shouted, "First Velvette, then Valentino and now me?! What the fuck is happening?!"

"We don't know!" The camerawoman said,

Vox sighed frustratingly.

"Why would Vel and Val believe in those fakers?" He wondered, "I mean, they didn't believe them at first, but the next day they were different…"

Vox then thinks for a moment until he thought of something.

"I know who's behind The Phantom Thieves!" He said, "July 9th is when I'll expose them!"

Vox turned to the camerawoman.

"Keep this between us, got it?" He asked her,

"But it's all over Pride and Pentagram City." The camerawoman replied,

Vox sighed again.

"They're elusive little shits…" He said, "That's for sure…"

A static appeared as Shadow Vox was in a dark void.

"Fine, I'll do all of this myself, my way." He said, menacingly,
