The next chapter will introduce the second protagonist of this story.
Once again, don't hesitate to point out any flaws in my FanFic. I will happily listen to any criticism and apply said criticism to my future chapters or even stories I might create.

Third person:
"I'm sorry, can you please explain exactly how this happened again?"
Currently inside a RainWing healer hut, 2 dragons and 1 unconscious dragonet.
All of which were RainWings
The adult dragons were both dumbfounded at the certain actions of a dragonet. According to the 1 witness, the dragonet simply.
Fell off.
Apparently there was nothing else to it, the RainWing healer however found it hard to believe.
The Witness took a deep breath and repeated his story.
"Okay so basically I was hanging out, right?" The Witness paused and let out a small chuckle, hoping that the Healer would get the joke.
She just gave him a deadpan.
The witness frowned slightly and continued on.
"I was hanging under a tree branch, eating one of those…whatchamacallit?" The Witness grumbled in thought.
"Please continue with how you found the dragonet"
"Hehe, right" he scratched the back of his head.
"But then I see this random dragonet from the corner of my eyes, it was almost like he appeared out of nowhere! I mean, I've been around this Kingdom long enough to know most of the folk here but I didn't even recognize that lil buddy" he took a breath, and continued.
"I didn't pay much attention to the guy, but so I continued eating my fruit, next thing you know I heard a thud hit the ground, I turned around and found the same dragonet knocked out on the floor!" He let out a hearty laugh.
"Did you hear anything snap? Like a bone?"
"Nah, just a thud, and that's when one of my buddies found you guys and took you to em"
"How come you didn't report it?"
"Eh, it's common for RainWing dragonets to fall on their heads when their little, heh, and here I thought you were a professional" his snarky response slightly irritated the Healer.
"You are correct, For RainWing dragonets it is indeed common for them to fall from such height when first climbing. But for a dragonet as old as him, it is concerning" She managed to say this as monotone as possible, to hopefully avoid the older dragon noticing her growing irritation.
"How old is he anyway?"
"I'd estimate around 5-6"
"I bet ya he's 5"
"..."
"..."
"Please leave, I'll look after him, thank you for your time" She was now trying to kick him out the nicest way possible.
"Alllrigght, gonna grab some grub" he started to walk towards the exit, but than turned his head to ask.
"Can I pick you u-"
"No"
"Alrighty" he finally left the hut.
The healer finally let out an exasperated breath.
She turned to the dragonet, he was still breathing calmly, that's a good sign. No obvious broken bones, his skull seems intact, had it been any other tribe, she doubt they'd survive. But she couldn't rule out the possibility of brain damage, she'd have to wait until he wakes up.
She wrapped a few bandages around the top of his head, and some ointment for some scrapes he received.
The only concerning part of this was his scales. Normally, When a RainWing experiences an injury similar to this, their scales would remain pale white until they woke up. This Dragonet however, didn't remain white, in fact. He had bright pink scales that lead from under his head, all the way to the tip of his tail, he had a deep blue forehead which the color also coated his entire upper maw, the blue color was also accompanied by purple outlines around the pattern of his blue scales. His ruff behind his ears were just plain orange, his spines were blue, maybe just a tad bit lighter in color compared to the blue he had on his head.
Rest of this body however, completely lacked color. Everything that wasn't listed was gray in color, such as his limbs, shoulders and whatnot, were all simply gray. The only difference in color was his wings, which were completely white in color.
The healer had no explanation for this, again. If a RainWing was knocked unconscious due to an injury, their entire body would be enveloped in white, if not very light gray. But in this case, not only are the dragonet's scales still bright and vibrant colors, but they also have dull colors, like gray and white.
Only possible explanation could simply be brain damage, maybe the dragon's brain lost control over the colors of his scales due to the fall? That could explain it.
The healer shrugged, done with tending to this dragonet, it's time to report the current status and toss this job to some other healer who'd take her place. Maybe they can find an explanation.
She did a final check up on the Dragonet, grabbed her belongings and left.
First POV:
Pain
Pain was throbbing through my entire head, I felt heavy and tired.
'Where am I?'
'Wait'
'I didn't wake up'
'…'
'This shit is real!'
Adrenaline shot throughout my body after discovering this unsettling revelation. No way this is real, right?
"no no no no no no" I started to push myself up, but not with my hands.
'I STILL HAVE CLAWS'
Before, I would find this to be cool, now this is just downright horrifying.
I was laying on some sort of bed, I rolled off it knocking over some items with me. Don't know what it was, it shattered but I simply don't care.
I looked back, in horror, at my own fucking tail flailing around.
"Get it off!" I quickly started panicking.
"NO way this is real!" I started laughing, officially losing it.
A dragon ran into the hut, this only freaked me out more.
"C-Calm down! Please get back in the bed!-"
"You can talk!?" I shouted in genuine surprise with a healthy mix of panic.
"Guards! We need a tranquilizer" shouted the dragon.
"Get me out of here, What the fuck is going on!?"
"Guards!"
A dragon entirely coated in black seemingly appeared out of nowhere at the door frame. This only frightened me more.
"Eep!" An embarrassing high pitched sound escaped from my mouth, before I could do anything else, I felt a prick on my shoulder and everything once again went dark.
'Please wake up, I don't care if my planet is a solid ball of lava'
Third POV:
It was the next day, and a dragon was assigned to tend to a sick dragonet.
A female RainWing, she was experienced in her work and highly respected. She tended many dragons in her tribe before, and with a new tribe now integrated with the RainWings her work seemingly doubled. Now, a particular case caught her attention, a dragonet reportedly fell from a platform high above and fell on their head.
Nice.
This would be considered normal for particularly young dragonets, but this one was far older.
Around 5-6, so this was abnormal behavior. An accident while playing with other dragonets? Maybe, but why hasn't any other dragonet reported this accident? And apparently no one recognized the dragonet either. She hoped to be able to identify the dragonet when she finally saw them in front of her.
This was only brought to her attention when a freak out apparently happened with the same dragonet. She didn't get much details, but she's visiting the RainWing that found said dragonet in a state of delirium.
She was approaching a nearby NightWing grill, a place she organized to visit with the RainWing. She planned to make it short and quick as she was expected to see the dragonet soon, but she needed all the info to be able to prepare.
She sat outside on a comfortable cushion across a coffee table. And got out her trusty quill and a small jar of ink. Waiting patiently, a waitress approached her but she promptly declined her service.
Finally, the witness came, and took a seat across from her.
The Witness smiled nervously while the Healer smiled warmly.
"Thank you for taking the time today to sit with me Lemon" said the healer
"Of course it's a pleasure meeting you Serenity"
Serenity cleared her throat.
"I don't intend to take much of your time, so I'll begin with the questions"
Lemon straightened up.
"You say the dragonet was in a state of 'delirium' why's that?" She cocked her head a bit to the side.
Lemon was visibly nervous and still a little shaken up, somehow that event managed to still haunt her. This was further emphasized with her lime green coloring that coated parts of her naturally yellow body, and with a few smudges of Dark green to show a bit of displeasure.
"W-well, I first heard commotion coming from the hut, I at first thought someone was working there. After all I was only out and about that night because I was looking for something I possibly dropped while flying around there" she paused to take a breath.
"I heard something shatter, and later a loud shout"
"What did the dragonet say?" Inquired Serenity.
Lemon shut her maw and soon light pink coated her face.
"Did they say something, outlandish?"
"You could sayy" Answered Lemon awkwardly.
"Can you say it?"
"I'd rather not…"
Serenity did her best to not give her the "are you serious?" look.
"I understand, no worries," Serenity wrote in her notes.
"And when you approached them outside of the hut, how did they appear to be?"
Lemon physically shivered, and said.
"He was hectic to say the least, almost as if he didn't know why he was even there in the first place, he was even surprised I could talk! Can you believe that?" Serenity was busy writing notes, all of this was interesting, and led her to a certain possibility.
"Memory loss? A possibility considering-" Serenity was murmuring to herself.
"I'm sorry?"
"Ah it's nothing, just thinking" Serenity finished gathering her thoughts and notes, then continued.
"Anything else?"
"Not really, I was calling for the guards to handle it, a NightWing guard found us and shot a tranquilizer dart at the dragonet"
"I see" she tucked away her notes in her satchel and prepared to leave.
"Thank you for your information, have a great rest of your day" she left without hearing Lemon saying her goodbyes.
'Possible memory loss, but how bad is it? And why was he shocked that a dragon talked? He could be mentally challenged after that fall, but how could he even fall in the first place? Was it deliberate? Was this malicious? An accident?'
There was still much to learn for Serenity, so she quickly took flight and visited the hut that currently contained the sick dragonet.
-Small time skip-
"Mkay" once again, murmuring to herself in silence.
She was reading over the notes left by the previous caretaker. Answered a few questions and even read about the possibility of the damage of his scales. She wished she'd known this earlier, she could've asked Lemon if she noticed the Dragonet scales shifted in color at all during the freak out.
No matter, she'll find out for herself. Currently in the same hut, fortunately a dragon cleaned and picked up the ceramic and tools that were knocked over. So she had a clean working place and the dragonet that caused all of this was peacefully sleeping.
A male, no one heard of his name yet.
She intends to wake him up, but wants to do it in the least frightening way possible. It was obvious he was afraid the moment he woke up, unaware of his surroundings. She needed a calm and peaceful setting to hopefully be able to calm his nerves, before confronting him herself.
It was a process, but she eventually pulled it off.
Small candles were lit around the sleeping dragonet, not close, but close enough to smell the calming aroma that was being emitted by them. She then opened the hatch above the dragonet, to allow sunlight to hit him.
With the candle producing the smell, and sunlight to calm the fellow RainWing when he wakes up. She decided to take this time to read in silence until that happens.
She pulled out her reading glasses and got comfortable on a cushion, and read.
First POV:
'How many times am I gonna wake up like this?'
Fortunately enough, I didn't feel much pain anymore, just a small headache. How long was I out for?
And more importantly, why am I still here?
'Is this what I am now? Is this one of God's punishment? Is there a god? If there is, they are %100 laughing at me'
One second, I'm a 17 year old kid, next thing you know i'm a dragon.
Sniff
Wonderful.
I opened my eyes, to see a dragon casually sitting with their back turned against me, are they reading something?
I didn't bother to make any noise, still trying to lay heads or tails of this whole "situation"
With a moment of peace and quiet, I got lost in my own thoughts. Actually beginning to realize the gravity of the situation I've gotten myself in.
'Everything is gone, my father, mother, uncle, their all gone'
I started to get just a bit emotional.
'For Christ sake my entire planet is incinerated, nothing survived'
Tears started to well up in my eyes.
'Why me? Why do I get to live? And as a dragon? Is this a joke?'
Tears started to flow a bit more freely.
'I should've died along everyone else'
Sniffling, I rubbed my eyes with the knuckle of my claws to wipe the tears.
'Just what the hell is going on'
"Shhhhh..."
Unknowingly, the dragon approached my side and spoke softly, they began to gently rub my back with their claws.
The unexpected voice made me shiver, but also weirdly enough did make me feel more calm. I felt myself slowly begin to control my emotions.
I was curled up, my wings pressed against my body, can't believe I actually said that.
While the dragon was on my right side, rubbing my back. Still trying to comfort me.
Despite the odd sense of warmth I'm receiving, it still didn't help my panicked nerves that were currently running rampant throughout my new body.
Okay, maybe a little I'd admit.
Just a bit.
'There's a dragon whispering in my ear and rubbing my back, if I said that back home I'd be put in a asylum'
Don't know how much time has passed, but I was finally willing to talk to the unknown dragon.
"Feeling better?" They asked softly with a feminine voice.
'Stop talking to me like a child'
"Mhm…" I replied weakly.
They took a breath and sat in front of me, while I simply embraced whatever curveball the universe might throw at me next.
"Any family members or friends you'd like to see?"
"no" I muttered, still laying down on my stomach on the bed.
Honestly, it was terrifying to see them look down on me.
"Do you remember what happened?"
'Got drunk as shit, now I'm a dragon' was what I wanted to say.
"No"
"That's okay, I'll take care of you for now" they once again smiled reassuringly.
Felt weirdly at ease, compared to how I woke up before. I was tempted to simply stroll around, especially after finding out this "place" has a lot more than just oversized trees and dragons but the weight of abandoning my world was still on my shoulders.
But still.
They had a whole society.
It was hard to resist my insatiable curiosity, but also hard to just forget everything that just happened to me.
'...'
They closed the hatch above me.
"Would you like some more sun time? Or are you ready to leave this hut?"
"What's sun time?" I asked, slowly getting used to my voice.
They were standing by the doorway, waiting for me to get up. But then craned their head towards me and looked down at me with pity.
'Don't look at me like that…' I mentally whined.
"Suntime is something that's needed for every RainWing, it's what make our scales vibrant and colorful, but it can also help our mood and energy"
"I'm a 'RainWing?'"
"Yes, yes you are"
"Oh…"
'RainWing? A species of dragon im guessing'
I once again scanned my body like before, and being in it this long. I'm slowly getting used to it, my wings still felt awkward along with my hind legs and forelegs, at least my claws worked like human hands. At Least they feel like they did.
"Does anything hurt?"
"I feel fine"
'I am not fine'
"Let's take a walk, shall we?"
I got up, trying to stand. Didn't take long until I took a step forward off the bed and only then I proceeded to fall.
But they caught me, almost as if they saw this coming.
"Let's take this one step at a time" they lightly chuckled.
I was embarrassed, felt like I was just born again.
They held my front claws and sat down, blocking the entrance.
Nervously I let my hindlegs hit the floor, I instantly began to get my footing. My hind claws secured me to the ground.
They seemed to notice this, and let my front claws go. To let me gather my footing, or is it "clawing" now? Doesn't matter, I'll figure all that out when I'm more mentally stable.
It didn't take long for me to finally be able to do the dragon equivalent of standing up straight.
They cleared the way and left the healer's hut, expecting me on the other side.
It was awfully bright, But it was also enchanting.
I took a small step forward, then another, and another, after a few close calls, I was finally outside.
The Unknown dragon stood in front of me, holding the same welcoming smile, but I also noticed them eyeing me intently. Like they're trying to get some sort of reaction from me.
I also stood still, not knowing what to do, and not wanting to risk face planting.
"Relieved to know you're recovering well from the looks of it, I'm sure with a short stroll you'll be back up and running again. I hope you don't mind me leading the way?" They cocked her head to the side, waiting for a response.
"Uh that's fine…Miss?" I replied awkwardly
'I barely even took a few steps, I doubt I'd survive this stroll without tumbling over!' I mentally shouted.
Suddenly, the same Unknown dragon flashed a bright purple color.
"My apologies! I completely forgot to introduce myself" they cleared their throat, and the bright purple color slowly dissipated back into the light blue color they had prior.
"My name is Serenity, I'm a Healer and I'll be taking care of you for now until I see that you fully recovered. May I get your name?"
I was mesmerized.
'Dragons can do that? So coool!'
I've read my fair share of fantasy books, none that I remember consisted of dragons being able to change colors seemingly at will.
'Can I do that?'
"Is everything alright?" she lowered her head slightly to get a better look at my face, I guess.
I shook my head, and answered their question.
"My name is Isaac" I answered confidently.
Suddenly I received a horrified expression.
'What did I say! Is Isaac a slur in this world or something?'
"I-I, umm" Serenity was at a loss for words, her scales shifted to a dark shade of blue.
"Do you remember your name?" she finally asked.
"It's Isaac, that's my name" I was getting more nervous by the second.
She took a deep breath, and said.
"I don't believe Isaac to be a name young one, I'm afraid you're still confused" Serenity chuckled.
"Especially for a RainWing," she added.
'Right a RainWing, that's what I am now, no more good ol human me'
"I don't remember my name then…" I lied, I knew my name was Isaac, but she clearly wasn't gonna take that as an answer.
"That's okay young one, I'll see what I can do, come along" she did her signature smile, then turned to slowly walk away from the hut.
I nervously followed, cautious of my footing.
Walking side by side with Serenity through what seemed to be a mega Rainforest, was in short "magical"
I saw countless Unique forms of vegetation, vibrant flowers, large ferns, vines that seem to cascade down trees. I swore I noticed some new plants that I had never previously seen before.
As we walked deeper into the Rainforest, I began to notice other dragons, which startled me and Serenity seemed to notice. She quickly reassured me and we treaded onward.
Dragons were seemingly flying out and about, dragons I learned were RainWings and eventually NightWings as well. Which were Dragons basically covered in black scales and some other notable physical features.
During the walk, she talked about how she treated many dragons from other tribes, apparently there are 7? Or 10? I don't honestly remember much of what she said, I was still mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the RainForest around me.
Serenity also talked about other things. Most of what they said flew through the other ear.
'I'll learn with time I'm sure'
Thanks to this jaw dropping setting, I was able to temporarily forget my recent world ending trauma.
"Dragonets" we're swinging and flying from branch to branch, in an intense game of tag I assume.
Dragonets, essentially mean "children" or "youngsters" in this world, and I'm considered one here.
I was only 17 when I was human,
'When I was human…'
Besides that, I was almost an adult, I'm assuming here I'm almost an adult too.
Maybe not "almost" an adult, I only recently turned 17, Well 17 and 4 months specifically but that's besides the point, I was close to being one nonetheless. Fortunately I managed to build the confidence to ask when I'm considered an adult, she had a brief look of "Are you serious?" Before finally answering that at the age of 7 years old, I'd be considered an adult.
Cool.
She even asked how old I was, I only said that I didn't remember.
Serenity once again had the look of pity, before sharing her thoughts, she believed me to be 5-6 years old.
So there's that.
After the "short stroll"
We encountered a large opening, incredibly massive.
In the middle, a comically large pile of fruits stood.
'Jesus…'
Many dragons were walking around it. I haven't seen this many dragons congregating in this one area ever since I arrived here. It was mind blowing.
As I stood speechless from the path we just exited, Serenity still standing by me, she simply looked towards my direction and asked.
"Are you ready to fly?"
"I don't think I know how" I answered sheepishly, though I was actually excited at the prospect of possibly learning how.
"No worries, I'm sure a few lessons will help you remember, let's find somewhere to eat then after I can show you how if we have time" she smiled down at me, this time. I don't sense a single shred of judgment or pity.
She seemed to genuinely care.
Suddenly, all embarrassment and guilt I've been having washed away, almost as if I had nothing to worry about.
Which I knew was entirely untrue, as I quickly felt my emotions build up inside of me once more. It also especially doesn't help since now I'm forced to live in this fantasy world filled with dozens of unknowns, however it's nice to have someone that seems to care and I can rely on here.
I'd have to find a way to make it up to them.
'Do they have gift cards in this world?' I internally pondered.
"Stay close" My thoughts on whether they'd like gift cards or an item from the latest clothing brand they had in this world were suddenly interrupted, as Serenity embraced me with her right wing, and tucked me close to her side.
While holding me close, we proceeded to walk through the large crowd of dragons.
Had I been walking on my own, I was confident I'd lose my mind.
'When does this end?'
A minute has passed and there were still countless dragons we passed, with the occasional shadow from above from a flying dragon.
If there was one thing I'll probably never get over is how colorful everything was, particularly the RainWings, they always came in a vibrant assortment of colors.
Not only that, but can change it seemingly at will. Which was pretty cool in my opinion.
'Can they camouflage? Or can 'we' camouflage? I don't think I even shifted colors ever since I woke up. Or maybe I just haven't noticed? Eh, I'll figure out how to RainWing at some point'
Serenity was just as vibrant as any other RainWing I've seen. She seemed to favor the color Light Blue, since it's the main color they've been rocking ever since I saw them, but other than that. Serenity also consisted of many other vibrant colors, her snout and forehead consisted of the color yellow, her ruff was a deep purple, which eventually faded into bright yellow at the end. The underside of her wing was a deep blue unlike the top side which was lime green.
The rest of her body seemed to alternate between varieties of colors.
At first, I'd considered this an eye sore, but I'm warming up to it. I wanted to get a good look at myself, maybe get a mirror if there is one. But it would have to wait.
Finally, we made a break through the crowd.
We found a path that wasn't crowded with dragons, but who's to say there weren't any there.
She still hasn't let go of me yet, but I wasn't complaining.
'She's warm…'
Looking out from under her wing as we walked, I noticed other dragons, dragons I don't think were RainWings or NightWings.
We were on a wide path, which had the occasional fern or tree branch dangling at the side or above, the trees were still absolutely massive. The ground was wet, which is probably why there aren't many dragons here in the first place. Despite that, a few dragons were still using this path as a means to travel.
A large brown dragon was spotted traveling the opposite direction we were going. I swore I felt the ground shake every time they took a step, as we got closer my heart began to beat faster.
'Can we turn around! That thing looks like it's gonna stomp on us!'
Serenity seemed to notice my distress, and pulled me even closer with her wing. Though it did little in calming my nerves.
The Brown dragon didn't even seem to notice our existence, we finally walked past each other without saying a word.
I was just about ready to make a run for it in case it were to attack, but nothing happened.
Let out a breath of relief.
'I hope that was the last one of those titans'
I was wrong, there were many more. And a few other unknown dragons that equally terrified me.
Small time skip
'Thank god, I survived'
I never felt more on edge before, but I did it.
Turns out, those dragons were called MudWing and SandWings, thanks to Serenity of course.
Both equally terrifying, MudWing's with their size, SandWing's with their barbs that killed anything that got unlucky enough to be stabbed by one.
No need to worry about those guys anymore, according to Serenity we finally made it to a restaurant.
I was currently sitting down outside, she asked if I wanted to eat inside the establishment.
Naturally, I denied it.
So we sat outside, and she went inside to get the menu. I simply sat on a surprisingly dry cushion, in front of me lay a medium sized round table, with an umbrella stand.
The restaurant was at least promising, I was sitting at the deck and a few other dragons were also sitting here. Minding their own business, a few dragons climbed up the steps and went into the establishment itself. The roof was interestingly enough, made of thick leaves? Or other types of vegetation? Not sure.
But it was aesthetically pleasing to see, random flowers and vines also spilled over from the roof. So consequently the deck would be spotted with random colorful flower petals, which honestly made it prettier in my opinion.
Instead of glass windows, this establishment had what I believed to be called "shoji sliding windows", some were open and some were closed. Even if they're closed. You could see the shadows of dragons walking by them, and even the bright flames inside, presumably the candles or maybe fireplace to keep the place warm inside. Not sure, didn't even bother to go inside to get a look.
All of these things made me remember the home I was robbed of.
'I wished I actually spent my last moments relishing the memories of my home, not drowning myself in alcohol'
'Wish my dad were here to see this'
I laid my forelimbs on top of the round table, clasped my talons together, and simply stared at them with my head down.
My father, despite his shortcomings. Did his best to raise me on his own, he was a nature enthusiast much like my mother. Before he passed, before I started living on my own. He had a large garden which consisted of dozens of flowers and plants which were passed down from my mother, Like a mini Rainforest you could say.
I tried taking care of their garden when he passed, but I was simply not sure how to take care of it. He never showed me how to, but I tried.
I failed, I failed to save my parents' garden.
Only took a month for all the plants to shrivel up.
That's when I started developing less than favorable habits, habits that my father would surely be disappointed in me for, like being an semi alcoholic.
I lowered my draconic head even more in shame, claws still firmly clasped in front of me.
'He would've loved to be in this world'
Tap Tap
'Huh'
Looking back up, forelimbs off the table. Serenity was sitting just across from me, holding up a rolled up piece of paper, smiling subtly.
Took me a second to register. She was tapping my head.
I simply looked at her, my mood soured due to my thoughts.
She quickly dropped her grin, and her expression became that of a concerned one.
"Something on your mind you'd like to share? Something wrong?" She inquired, clearly wanting to help in some sort of way, but unfortunately it's not something you can actually help to begin with. Unless she can transport me back to my old world, or atleast give me some closure on what the fuck happened and why I'm here, then there's no point sharing it.
"I'm good, thank you Serenity" tried to smile to ease their worries, but it didn't seem to work.
"You know, you still need a name that I can address you by, do you remember anything yet?" She passed me the rolled up piece of paper tied with a piece of string as she finished speaking.
"I really don't remember anything" I lied, again.
I felt like she was staring at me when I said that, but didn't pay much attention. As I was currently trying to untie the knot of the rolled up piece of paper.
After a couple of seconds of furiously trying to untie this stupid piece of paper, I used my new claws instead.
And just like that, I had it unrolled.
I noticed Serenity was frowning, possibly due to my unorthodox way of untying this rolled up piece of paper. Didn't care much though, I was eager to find out what sort of delicacies this world has to offer.
After I viewed the piece of paper, I held it at both sides with my claws.
'Is this upside down?'
I flipped it over.
'Huh'
I flipped it over once again.
'What the hell?'
And then it hit me, I can't read.
'What are these characters!?'
Everything written on this piece of paper was nothing but gibberish to me.
There were circles, half circles, and squiggly lines. Are those moons? Why does that box have a dot inside of it? What does this all mean!?
Serenity seemed to pick up on my distress and disappointment.
"Everything okay?" She raised a brow.
"..."
"..."
"I can't read," I replied bluntly.
"Oh…" Her frown deepened a bit.
'Please stop looking at me like that!' I wanted to cry.
It's not like any of this was Serenity's fault, but she seemed to take this personally.
"Would you like me to read this out loud for you, little one?"
'This is so embarrassing!'
"..."
"..."
"Yes ma'am" I managed to say through a childish pout.
She smiled and giggled.
"Very well, so on this menu it has…"
Another time skip
I threw myself on top of my hammock for the night.
After a surprisingly good meal, which consisted of various fruits and a delicious drink, I was exhausted.
Not from eating, but from the dreaded climb I had to make to get here.
After me and Serenity finished our food we promptly left for her home. Surprisingly enough, She was completely content with me crashing at her place.
So we walked, since I couldn't fly.
But then the treeesss!
In order to get to her home, which was just below the canopy of the oversized trees, I had to climb my way up.
It was a daunting task, accompanied with multiple failures which consisted of falling back down to the ground.
Serenity tried carrying me, but she couldn't.
So she taught me how to climb, since she called it "crucial" for a RainWing to know if it wants to survive in the RainForest.
As per usual, she was incredibly patient and encouraging. She taught me how to flex my talons properly in order to get the best grip on anything I'm climbing on.
My tail proved more useful than I thought, using it to hold my balance when I was on a tree branch. I even used it to catch myself from falling by quickly wrapping my tail around a random branch.
After a bit, Serenity grew anxious. She didn't want me to suffer another fall, however I refused to seek help.
If I wanted to survive in this crazy world, I'd have to force myself to adapt.
Eventually, after countless trials and errors.
And a few close calls.
I made it to the top.
Serenity was awfully proud of me, it felt nice.
But then.
A spider crawled on my face.
I fell all the way down.
I loathe spiders.
But here I am.
'Damn spiders'
Even before I became a RainWing, I had a child-like fear of spiders. Don't know why, I just do.
"Spawns of satan himself" I grumbled in bed.
Besides that, I'm currently residing in Serenity's home. It was high above the ground, just beneath the canopy. It held itself suspended in the air thanks to thick vines from nearby trees that were intertwined to form a strong platform, it was coated with various types of leaves to give it the illusion of a platform made from leaves.
On top of said platform, laid a humble home. It was circular, like if you were to flip a bowl upside down on a table. Seemed to be built from thatch, mixed with other various vegetation I don't recognize, once again intertwined with vines to keep it in shape.
It was highly decorated, not sure if on purpose or not. Once again, various flowers coated the home. Even noticed a few pots with growing vegetation in them.
The building had a few windows with shutters.
Inside, surprisingly enough, wasn't a circle as one would expect. Had a hallway, corridor, rooms, kitchen, and even a living room.
In short, it's a pretty neat home.
Serenity lended me her guest room, since she wants to keep a close eye on me, to view my recovery process.
If anything, my recovery would take a little longer due to the falls I took climbing the damn tree.
Not complaining about spending a little longer here though, it's incredibly cozy.
The guest room, which would be located on the right of the house after going through the front door, down a small hallway. Then simply turning to the right, following down a incredibly short corridor, you'd find a door frame with a soft blanket with various designs on it dangling from the top, go through it, and voilà, you found the guest room.
Inside, a decent sized hammock in a corner of the room, right next to it, a window with shutters to close it if I wanted to. A small round table just in the opposite corner, and a rug. Oh, and a small bowl of fruits.
It was simple, but nice nonetheless.
I believe this to be my second or third day here, hard to keep track with the amount of times I lost consciousness already.
Oh well.
I'm slowly getting used to this life, not as bad as I thought so far.
If you ignore the whole, you know, my world ending part that is.
Only friend you could say I made was with Serenity, but she could only be trying to do her job. Still nice to have someone though.
It was getting dark, I was soon falling asleep in my hammock with my tail dangling from the side.
With one last thought crossing my mind.
'I hate spiders'
