Greetings, Mgunnels3 here, and welcome back to Ash's Kanto Journey, My Version. I made a poll a while ago, so this is the result of it, and now let's get this chapter going, shall we? Mind you, Ash won't get this Pokemon, but that won't be the only capture in this chapter you'll see.
Chapter 9: Hidden Village of the Abbandon Pokemon

We joined our heroes as they were heading toward Vermillion City. Brock's map needed to be updated, even with help, much to everyone's dismay.
"Brock, are you certain we're on the right path? It feels like we've been walking in circles for an hour." Misty asked Brock, who was trying to make heads or tails with the map.
"According to the map, we should reach a Pokemon center soon. However, it seems like the map is incorrect," Brock said as Flare looked at it and noticed something: the Cerulean city was closer than where they were.
"Hey, Brock, we're heading in the wrong direction. Could you look closer and see if you're reading it wrong or upside down?" Flare said to Brock, surprised as he noticed a massive issue with the map and looked closer to Cerulean City than Vermillion. Flare turned to Ash and the others. "And I thought you guys were bad with maps. This is going to be even worse if this is a thing?"
Ash and Misty laughed while Brock felt embarrassed. Ash looked at Latias and Latios, who shared the same thought." Do you guys see anything nearby to help us? I mean, the Pokemon Center should be nearby," Ash asked the two Legendaries, who nodded as they took off to the skies.
"I'm surprised you didn't think about sending Spearow or Tempest to help us sooner, not just Latias and Latios?" Riolu said to Ash and Misty, who rubbed their heads.
"The thing is, I'm not sure if they're familiar with the area or not. Yes, Latios and Latias aren't either, but we don't know what else exists. They can be more stealthy," Ash said to Riolu, who sighed and nodded. Ash was right about that, as she had been with the team for a month and was less familiar with this region than the others.
"I mean, we're all in uncharted territory here, so no need to worry," Ash said to try to make things better for her, who let it go for now as Ash noticed something was walking its way towards the group it was an Eevee, but something was off about her. "Huh? Hey, you okay there," Ash said as the group ran over to the Normal type, who was shy and a bit worried that they would harm her.
"Please, don't hurt me. I don't know what to do?" the Eevee said as it sounded female. Brock noticed something and was about to say something, only for someone to call out to the Eevee.
"Stay away from her humans. I don't know what you are doing, but can you see that she's expecting anytime soon and being stressed isn't needed," the creature said. It was a male Bulbasaur. The group kept calm, let him speak, and waited until he was done, which Bulbasaur noticed.
"They can understand Pokemon Bulbasaur. They have translators, so don't worry about it. And we were going to see if she was okay when we saw her walking towards us; we had no plans on capturing her, maybe offering her assistance if we could find our way out of here," Flare the Charmeleon, said to Bulbasaur who was suspicious about what Flare meant but left it be for now.
"I don't know what game you humans are playing, as many Pokemon were abandoned recently, but if you are willing to help, come with me. But you shouldn't tell anyone about this unless they are willing to help, that is, deal?" Bulbasaur said to the gang, who nodded, trying not to make him angry, just in time for Latios and Latias to show up and let it be invisible for now.
As the group walked, they noticed a hidden forest area that needed to be marked on their map. They saw various Pokemon from the four regions looking at them curiously, but Ash and his companions tried not to show they were interested in catching them.
"Given that both Charmeleon Flare and I are female, we were concerned and wanted to ask how long Eevee has been expecting, just in case it happens soon," Riolu said to Bulbasaur and Eeevee. The two sighed and nodded as they figured the group would want to know what was happening.
"It has been almost a few months since my trainer and mate left me. The worst part is, I am not sure when I am expecting, and Mellony cannot tell us without medical attention," Eevee said to the group, who was curious about who this girl was. However, Brock sounded interested in this Mellony girl, though Bulbasaur slapped him on the head.
"Don't get any ideas, human, as she's not interested in dating; as for who she is, she's been taking care of a lot of abandoned Pokemon that were either injured or abandoned by many abusive trainers," Bulbasaur said to Brock and the others.
"We haven't come across trainers like that recently. Lately, we've only encountered poachers and their former evil team. I'm sorry this happened to you. What kind of human would do such a thing?" Misty said to them.
"Lately, Eevee here has been the latest one who was abandoned. But either we have them or the Pokemon Rangers nearby, as they have been to the point that not many can be with trainers or injured badly. Still, I've been protecting Eevee here until she has her eggs," Bulbasaur said as the group understood what was happening as they noticed a girl was tending to an Oddish and a few other Pokemon.
"Well, hello, there. I'm surprised that many humans would come this way out here, especially given how Bulbasaur isn't fond of humans," the girl said to Ash and the others.
"Yeah, we saw Eevee and Bulbasaur come to protect her, but we weren't planning to capture her. I assumed you were Mellony that Bulbasaur and Eevee were talking about?" Ash said to Mellony, who was surprised but figured they had translators or some way to understand them. Surprisingly, she wasn't suspicious about it.
"Yes, I am nice to meet you. While most of these Pokemon are weary of humans, some aren't and can be friendly, so please, as long as you don't catch them unless they want to join your team, you can interact with them, uh..." Mellony said as Ash and the others realized they needed to introduce themselves.
"Oh, right, my name is Ash Ketchem. I'm from Pallet Town, and these are my friends Misty and Brock. They have connections with the league, so you don't have to worry," Ash introduced himself and his friends. Mellony nodded in understanding as she explained that she had permission to help sick and abandoned Pokemon from the league. Bulbasaur became more curious about the group, particularly Brock, and wondered what he had said and what he was about to do with Mellony. Brock was also a league member, and because of this, Bulbasaur felt he could trust him.
Ash and his friends were exploring a new place where they saw numerous Pokémon from different regions. Amongst these, two Pokémon were particularly drawn to Ash and Misty. One was a bee-like Pokémon with three heads, and the other was a skunk-like Pokémon. Although the skunk Pokémon was shy, it was also interested in Ash, which he noticed.
"Hey, it's okay. You can come on out. We won't hurt you at all," Ash said to the two as they came out to greet them.
"You promise that you won't hurt us?" The Skunk Pokemon said to Ash and the others. They nodded as they exited their hiding place, and Riolu realized what they were.
"A Combee and a Stunky are from my region in Sinnoh. Surprised that they're out here?" Riolu said as the two Pokemon looked scared upon Riolu saying that as she sighed. "Relax, you two. I'm just stating the obvious: you don't have to be defensive, though, for Stunky, that is the last thing we want."
Combee was fluttering towards Misty, who, though she looked cute, even petted her honeycomb on the main head, who happily buzzed. "Aren't you a cutie? I've heard that your species are respected among the bug types," Misty said to the Combee, who blushed cutely upon Misty, calling her cute but smiling.
"Thank you, miss. I appreciate that, given that the female members of my line are the only ones who evolve, and I was next to be queen before I joined a human. It says a lot, but I prefer to be out on my own than be a queen one day," Combee said to Misty, who was surprised by this.
"No joke here. Most female Combees are rare in their colony. That says a lot if she was next in line to be queen. But I guess you would rather be adventurous than run a hive, huh?" Riolu said she was female and was getting along with her well as Combee nodded. As Misty was getting along with Combee, Stunky was a bit uneasy for herself, namely what Riolu said about what her species is known for, as Ash noticed.
"Is everything okay with you, Stunky? I am not afraid of you, and I can see that you are trying to be friendly?" Ash asked her as Eevee noticed this and could see how Ash was being kind to the Stunky, who looked down.
"I am a bit worried about what Riolu said about me. As a Poison type, my line is known for having a strong smell, which I fear might make it difficult for me to make friends with other Pokemon. I don't want to worry about gassing people or other Pokemon. It's not a problem during battles, but being around me could be a concern. Despite this, everyone else has been nice and friendly towards me," Stunky said to Ash as he figured that Ash could understand him. Ash nodded as everyone else in Ash's group did. "I want to be with a trainer who can see me as a friend. Can I join your team?" Stunky asked Ash, who was surprised by this, and turned to everyone, who nodded in understanding.
"Can I join your team as well, Misty? I want a good trainer, and I don't mind being treated differently as long as I am given good battles, that is," Combee asked Misty, who nodded in agreement.
"Sure, maybe you can join our team after we finish here. We don't mind, so just good battles you two want on top of being treated, right?" Ash said to the two, who nodded.
"I appreciate you two taking these two in, as they've been here ever since more Pokemon from Sinnoh started coming to Kanto. Not to say that they're a burden to me or everyone, I don't know how to handle them," Mellony said to the group.
Mellony gave the group a tour, drawing the attention of other nearby Pokémon. She demonstrated how she takes care of all her Pokémon and feeds them. Brock was impressed with her skills and was taking notes. Mellony noticed his interest and smiled.
"I taken that you are a breeder or a local Pokemon Doctor Brock?" Mellony asked Brock, who shook his head sadly.
"Technically, that is my lifelong goal to be both actual and any help in learning that is helpful. One day, I may be a gym leader. Still, I'd rather follow my goal to help Pokemon in need, whether it be grooming or helping them with being sick and injured," Brock said to Mellony, who nodded in understanding. "I took what you learned from that, or do you have family who are Mellony?" Brock asked, who nodded.
"Mom is a breeder, and Dad is a Pokemon doctor. Sadly, they taught me how the Pokemon in this region are treated; I've been doing this for almost four years now." Mellony said to Brock, who nodded.
'You are doing an excellent job in helping these Pokemon. It's easy to see why they trust you,' Latias said to Mellony. Latias was no longer cloaked as this took her aback.
"I heard rumors that Latias and Latios were in the area, but seeing them up close is an amazement to me; I take that you are from Johto or Hoenn? Given that, there's been them in both regions," Mellony asked the two as Latios also turned visible.
'From the Southern Islands in Hoenn. We are familiar with the Latios and Latias you mentioned from Johto, as they are related to us,' Latios said to Mellony, who nodded.
"You mean Alto Mare? I've been there for the water-type race with my sisters, along with them putting on one of their shows there not long before I started to think you two are related to the two guardians?" Misty said to the Lati-twins, who nodded.
'Well, the current guardian's kids are our cousins, as their parents passed away when we were kids; that much we'll tell you: if you guys ever go there, you will have permission to visit their home, but we'll have to give notice beforehand,' Latias said to the group who nodded as the area where her cousins live is sacred.
Eevee was about to say something but felt off as everyone noticed.
"Eevee, you okay? You don't think the eggs are ready to come soon, do you think?" Ash asked her, who nodded as the pain went away for now.
"She needs medical attention as she'll be having them real soon, and given how long she's had them, she's in no position to stay here," Flare said to the group, who nodded as Ash translated this to Mellony, who nodded in agreement.
"I agree with you. There's a Pokémon Center nearby, located due south in that direction. I'd been waiting until my companion was ready before taking her there. The local nurse, Joy, has been watching her, and I believe the time is approaching soon," Mellony said as she pointed toward the Pokemon Center.
"Whenever you are ready to go, Eevee, we'll be happy to take you there if you are okay with coming with us, that is?" Ash asked Eevee, who nodded.
"Ash, that is what I was about to ask you about," Eevee said to Ash, curious about what she was about to say. "I don't want to fight, and it would be troublesome if the eggs don't arrive soon, but if you have someone in your family who can take me in as a pet, then I'm okay with that," Eevee asked Ash, who nodded as Ash explained what she had said to Mellony, who nodded as if it were fair.
"I agree with your proposal. My mother is the only family member I have in this area, as my brother and father are on a journey. Once we reach the Pokemon Center, I will contact her. Once Joy approves, you will be transported as my seventh Pokemon," Ash said to Eevee, who nodded.
"I'm coming with you as well to see that you are okay and cleared to be rested and all that, and I'll be joining your team, Brock, afterward," Bulbasaur said to Eevee, who was surprised but not as much as Brock.
"But right now, I'd rather not be caught until after she is cleared, if that's okay with you, as you impressed me and earned my trust," Bulbasaur said to Brock, who nodded.
"I will come with you guys to ensure that Eevee is safe since it is my responsibility from Nurse Joy," Mellony said to Ash and the others, who nodded.
The group was finishing up as Mellony packed her things and headed out with the rest. Meanwhile, Ash and Misty captured Combee and Stunky, adding them to their sixth Pokémon team until further notice.
As Mellony left, one of the Pokemon that had been with the group the longest kept an eye on them until further notice as the group left as they walked.
"By the way, Mellony, I heard Bulbasaur mention that most of the Pokemon you have taken care of lately were recently abandoned. Have you heard anything about it or through the Rangers?" Brock asked Mellony, who looked down.
"I have, actually, and it's been recent, and it's the cause of one trainer who's been treating Pokemon poorly. Most of them were lucky that they were rescued; Eevee here is one of them, actually," Mellony said to the group, who was taken aback. "As for most of the others, they were rescued from poachers, and I heard that the trainer is with some as well. Who knows what else has been through it rough," Mellony said as the group looked down, unsure what to think about it.
Riolu was unsure of what was going on. She had been brought to this place recently and had yet to learn what had happened beforehand. However, the thought of poachers had been occupying her mind. Ash noticed her concern and showed his worry. Riolu waved her paw, indicating that everything was fine for now and that Eevee was the only thing that mattered.
Unbeknownst to the group, they were being watched from a distance by a small yellow creature that had been abandoned along with the other Pokemon. The creature was curious about Ash's abilities as a trainer and wanted to observe him closely.
