After our showers had finished and I helped Naomi and Crystal back to their sorority house, I then went back to my frat house and proceeded to have dinner and go to sleep. And after a good night's rest, we then woke up the next morning and I saw that Sherri had gotten a letter to us. "A letter? And it happens to be from ROR, huh? Let's see what they had to say," I frowned as I then opened it and read it.
"To Losema Kappa. We hate you, but we don't want to get in trouble. Get your stupid butts to the entry of the school on Saturday at 10 AM sharp so you can get a ride to Monsters Inc. And expect your cake within the next week. We'll make sure it's chocolate," the letter said, me frowning at that, especially the beginning.
"Methinks the bullies are mad at us. We should still exercise caution and make sure our reflexes are up to snuff. Last thing we need is another prank," I frowned.
"I agree! I almost didn't want to trust you when you said they might prank us, but last night proved your suspicions were true," Don frowned in annoyance.
"Until then, we should focus on our training and our schoolwork. We'll train a bit more on the scaring program stuff, the avoid the teenager challenge, and hide and sneak. We need to make sure we're prepared for the other stuff, too, so it's time for another lap around the school," I smirked.
"Got it! Ah've been getting used to it lately!" Narleen smiled happily as we then took our lap around the school and, upon doing so, we did our fastest time thus far, it being a total of 24 minutes in total.
"We managed to get a faster time this time than before, so that's very good!" I smiled widely.
"Whoo!" they cheered in their own ways as we then went to our different classes and I then went to door class, where I was joined by Undine, Marge, and Carrie. And we managed to put the finishing touches on the door in question, me making sure it was the door that would lead to my high school bully's house when she was 5, which we then proceeded to show it to our professor.
"Wow, you managed to make the door, huh? Now it's time to test it," he smirked as we then went to the testing room and we got on some hazmat suits as he then proceeded to turn the door on and go inside, seeing that the baby version of my bully was sleeping snug in her bed, which... well, it made me feel bad for her now. Her room was an absolute trash heap, with her obviously being the subject of abuse. It was easy to tell that, since she had a food bowl on the ground with her name on it and her bed had cuts on it made from a knife. And the room smelled bad too. We then closed the door and the professor looked at us after turning the door off.
"I must admit... that's the first instance I've seen of a neglected child's room in my life. I honestly feel bad for that tyke. But it does make the situation more unique. Now will come the next part, where we find out which will be the best way to scare this child," the professor said, me feeling very sad for her, especially since she had an abusive household as young as 5!
"I didn't know that humans could be that cruel to their own kids... how horrible!" Carrie said in disgust.
"Believe it or not, I have a tale to tell you when lunch happens, Carrie," I said, her being confused. But when lunch happened, I went to eat with her alone and she then asked what I meant by that.
"Do you mean something about your secret?" she asked me.
"While I lived in the human world, I saw a sight that would make anyone shiver... they had this thing called live streaming, where you could play a game or watch a video and people could view you doing so. This one user faked a live stream on a website in order to use it as an alibi for murdering his wife, who was pregnant with his child," I explained, which Carrie gawked at. "The user in question had the username of Votesaxon07 and he had the livestream prerecorded so he could use it to cover him killing his wife. And after he was released as a witness, because they didn't have evidence at that time, he bugged his wife's family's house so he could manipulate them as well. He was caught when they found out his search history in how to kill as painfully as possible and how his livestream was prerecorded and had subtle hints, such as a poster from a movie with the words 'time to die' in it and him saying abso-effin'-Natalie, as his wife's name was Natalie," I said, which Carrie had her eyes glow red before she then coughed up her milk, which was then lapped up by a dog monster.
"Disgusting... how could a human be so cruel?" she asked.
"Nobody but him knows, because the trial was still ongoing when I came back. But that's not the worst crime humans did back then, since World War 2 was also a thing that happened."
"I remember hearing about that from my momma! How kids from that era were deemed as unscarable because of how they went through constant fear!" Carrie gawked.
"As well they should, especially in Europe. Where people would be hunted down by Nazis if they were anything they deemed as not true Germans. And they would be put in camps, starved to death, and, at some point, killed by poisonous gas!" I spoke. "They didn't even discriminate. They did it to adults, children, babies, elderly, anyone. It was a living hell."
"Wow... how horrible... I need to learn more about that, then... to learn from history so we don't repeat it," Carrie gawked as she then proceeded to get out her cell phone and started to try and study it, her then frowning at how it didn't show up at all. "Dang, it's not coming up... too far removed from history," she frowned.
"You mean you know?" I asked.
"About this world being thousands of years ahead of humans? Yes. My ancestors were very close to the Waternoose family, and we also had documents describing how we turned from human to monsters... but in the process, we became highly allergic to human children, as a single touch could kill a monster," she said.
"Yeah, that does stink..." I sighed. "Hey, how about we get to training after lunch with Oozma Kappa? You and your sorority, I mean. We're going to train each other in avoiding the teenager," I smiled.
"I'm in!" she smirked widely.
After training for the next few days, our group of Oozma Kappa then went to the entry of Monsters University on Saturday after we got the next letter that we'd be doing the avoid teenager test. And though it did take some effort, I did get to train PNK in how to avoid scaring the teenagers, which I simply spoke to them.
"Teenagers smell really bad and they treat their rooms like a pig sty. Would you want to scare someone who'd sooner throw their dirty underwear at you than scream?" I asked, which the girls immediately trained harder in not scaring the taller cutouts that I'd made for the training. It was amazing how universal it was for girls to be afraid of getting dirty. Not all, of course, but college girls that were like PNK's sorority? For sure they were afraid of dirt and bad stink!
Regardless, after waiting for long enough, we got on a bus that was actually manned by someone who looked at us with a smile.
"So, heard you guys got my son in trouble and that he wanted me to take ya to Monsters Inc. so you didn't blab, hmm?" he asked, me smiling at him.
"If you must know, he snuck beer onto the campus grounds and kept trying to embarrass and prank our frat because we're the underdogs in the Scare Games. But after last night's performance? I don't think they'll mess with us anymore," I smiled.
"Yeah, he told me to do something horrible to you, but I know he's a piece of crap. He just expects to coast through life because we're rich, and I can't really tell him no to things when he can buy them anyway," he frowned.
"Welp, now we know that even you don't like him, so we have no issues getting on this bus. No traps, right?" I smiled.
"No traps at all. You're getting a front-row seat to Monsters Inc!" he smirked. We then got into the bus and we drove the whole way to the place, which Johnny's father then gave us some visitor's passes and, after confirming with Waternoose himself (I simply waved hi to him, which he was annoyed at my presence), we then went to see the scarers in their element. But rather than view from the bottom of the floor by the line, we were given a balcony viewing at an upper room! And it was awesome seeing all the scarers that were around.
"Take a look at them, everyone. You see what they all have in common?" Mike asked.
"Uh... no, not really," Don said.
"Exactly. There's no one type of scarer. The best scarers use their differences to their advantage," Mike smiled as we then saw that the Pink Widow was among the lineup and she was getting ready alongside what looked to be a relative of Celia, the only difference being that she had way longer snake hair and had three eyes.
"Terry? Look!" Terri smiled as he pointed to the three-headed dragon, which the brothers were super happy to see. And Sully looked at them and then looked to feel guilty, which I simply moved towards him after.
"He-hey! Look at that old fella down there, racking up the big numbers!" Don smiled as he pointed down to the far end.
"Don, that old fella is Earl 'The Terror' Thompsan!" Narleen smiled.
"Wait, what?! Is it really him?" Sully gawked.
"That old codger held the scare record for three years, longest time of anyone in history!"
"Ooh, look, third door from the back!" Sully smiled as he pointed out the second who assisted in trying to steal my sister, who I'd be speaking with privately before the tour ended.
"Courtney 'Killer Claws' Bonitez!" Mike smiled.
"Hey, that's Bobby Gunderson! I still have his rookie card!"
"Yeah, doesn't have the speed anymore but-"
"His techique is flawless" Mike started before him and Sully finished at the same time. "You collected scare cards too, huh?" Mike smiled.
"450 of 'em," Sully smiled.
"Impressive! I still have 32,329 in mint condition, but 450's a good number, too," Mike smiled.
"Hey, look at the pink girl! She looks cute like me, but she's racking up numbers big, too! She's second on the list, too, right behind Earl! Wow... imagine, a cute monster being that good at scaring!" Squishy smiled.
"And look at that girl down there! I recognize her! That's my cousin!" Narleen smirked, me looking to where she pointed and me being surprised at the fact that the one she was pointing out happened to be a monster that looked almost like a little girl, but she had scales all over her body, she was pink like Narleen, had a long snake tail, and she had the ability to float and teleport! "That's Serpentine Wade! She's from a long line of monsters that look more human than all others!" Narleen smiled.
"I can tell. She looks a lot different than the rest of them, that's for sure," I smiled, the slithery girl then going into a door and, when I saw it, I smiled. It was the door to one of my teachers in High School, meaning the door was from the 80s. And after going inside, the scream that happened after made at least two canisters' worth of scream as she then exited and jumped up at least 3 places on the scare board!
"Wow, she just rocketed up there, didn't she? Haha! That's my cousin fer ya'll!" Narleen giggled. And Sully sighed and looked at us before then smiling.
"I'm sorry if I misjudged you guys for the longest time... I was a real jerk back then," Sully sighed.
"So was I," Mike sighed.
"But we can't let it define us," I smiled. "We make a great team. If we work together, we can beat the Scare Games and get all of us into the Scaring Program! No ifs, ands, or buts," I smiled.
"And we got just the coaches to do it! You and Mike have been helping us a lot," Sully smirked at me.
"D'aww, thanks, Sully," I smiled at him. We then watched as the scares went by the rest of the way without issue as we then were told something by Waternoose.
"If you have anything else you want to do on the tour, I'll go ahead and let you do so, but only for the next half an hour," Waternoose smiled.
"Could I get a few minutes to speak to Courtney, please? And I'm sure Narleen would like to talk with miss Wade," I smiled.
"But of course," Waternoose said, me seeing that he said it with a bit of a groan at first, but quickly recomposed himself. But none of the others noticed, thank goodness.
After this, I was then allowed to speak with Courtney, but of course, Waternoose had to stick with us, since it was me we were talking about.
"So, what did you want to talk to us about? If it's about you-know-what, I can assure that we've stopped it, since your plan managed to work," Waternoose frowned.
"No, no, not at all," I lied. That was the main thing I wanted to know about, but I didn't want to egg them on for that. "I actually wanted to ask if you happened to have any kind of information about uh... the history of humans turning into monsters?" I asked, which Waternoose AND Courtney gawked at.
"How did you know about that? No one's supposed to know," Courtney gawked.
"A member of the school told me, her being called Carrie, a member of Python-Nu-Kappa. Her family tree used to be partners with Waternoose's family," I said, the duo frowning at that.
"What is it that you want to discuss about it, then?" Waternoose asked.
"I was just wondering if I'd be able to learn when it happened, the tests that were stated that humans are toxic to monsters - which are false -, and why we put the program of banishment in place," I said, the duo looking at each other before Waternoose then handed me a flash drive, which surprised me.
"I had a feeling you'd be asking about our personal details, so just tell our receptionist about what you want on that flash drive. I'll come with you when that happens, but keep it quiet," he said, me nodding as we then went to the place in question and saw that the receptionist wasn't Roz. Guess it was before her undercover work. We then whispered the request to her and she then put the details onto the flash drive and handed it back to me.
"Only one rule about using that. Don't share the information with ANYONE. We can very easily ruin you if you revealed company secrets," Waternoose frowned at me.
"I promise. I just wanted to make sure the information was on the up-and-up. Only way I'd share any of this is if I asked your permission," I said, which he frowned at.
"Unlike our first meeting, obviously," he frowned.
"I don't like doing bad things to kids. Scaring them, I understand, because you need to get power somehow. But I draw the line at kidnapping. Just don't do it again and we'll be square. I'll be sure not to share anything on this flash drive and I'll keep it safe and secure," I smiled, which Courtney frowned at me.
"You treat James right, okay? He could be the best scarer the company has ever seen, but you need to train him before then. And I still hate you," Corutney frowned.
"Hate is a strong word. I'd rather use the term 'don't like'. My sister learned that as well," I frowned.
"You have a sister?" Courtney asked, me smirking at her.
"Yes, and you already met her, you just don't know it yet," I smiled as I then left them to be in a state of complete confusion. Almost as if me being related to a human was such an improbability that they would never suspect that my sister was the one they were planning to kidnap that night.
Regardless, after this happened, I then went with my allies back to the van, but not before being introduced to Serpentine Wade, which she smirked at my appearance.
"I see you've been doing well yourself, Miss Bigfoot," she smiled, me looking at her with a sigh.
"Don't say a word of this to anyone, 'specially the higher ups, but I'm actually her great-grandaughter," I said, which made Serpentine look at me in confusion.
"Huh? But, didn't Waternoose say that you've been gone for 15 years?... Wait... what year was Barri Bigfoot banished to?"
"I think it was 1921, one of the dead doors from that long ago," said someone who was listening in, that being the receptionist. "And I expect you wish for me to stay quiet too, hmm?"
"Yes, we do. What's the price?" Don smirked.
"I want you to win those scare games. I heard all about it in the school's newspapers. How Oozma Kappa made a deal that, if the team of former Scare Program members were to win the games, they'd all get into the Scare Program and out Hardscrabble for being a judgemental teacher that only viewed outward appearance before anything else," she smirked as she then showed something off on her, it being a former book that she had that was full of pictures of her when she was in the program, and how she ended up getting rejected every time because she was deemed as 'not scary'. "Maybe if you get through to her and she learns her lesson, then monsters like me and many others can finally live our dream and become scarers as well. If you do that, I promise to take that secret to the grave," she smiled at me.
"You can bet we'll do just that," I smiled at her as I then shook her tentacled hand, her smiling at me. "Heh, just as buff as your great grandma as well," she smiled.
"Heh. Could I get a name, then?" I smiled.
"Nelly Tapirmin. Former Scare Programmer, currently underpaid receptionist. Don't repeat that out loud," she frowned.
"Oof, tell me about it," I sighed.
"We're going to be working even harder to get to the end of the scare games! And we better read up on all the scares, too," Art smiled as we had already found what he was good at. He was great at lower ground, as he could roll like a log in order to avoid certain threats. And Don had already learned that he could cling to walls with his tentacles and suction cups! As for Narleen? She was the best when it came to the scaring, bar none, as she had quite the vocal range! But what else would I expect from a Spongebob character based on Narwhals and country folk. And we would probably find the Terri and Terry's strength during our new training next for sure.
But of the lot, we did need to work with Sully and Mike the most when it came to scares. For Sully, he needed to learn all the scaring protocols and the best ways to scare all children. But Mike's biggest problem wasn't his appearance, his technique, or his knowledge. His issue was with execution. So I needed to train him on that when it came to training him next, but I had to teach him in a way that he'd understand and wouldn't hurt his pride at.
