Chapter 4 Lovers

In the clan of the Lumen Sages there was a young sage named Balder. Balder was attractive young man with long, creamy white hair and silvery-blue eyes. He had a light skin complexion, he usually also had a monocle on his left eye. Balder wore white robe lined with gold patterns and red, diamond-shaped patterns that extend into a chain of sorts near his legs and down his sides. Gold, metallic rings appear at the base of his arms, and white boots made from leather with golden-tipped toes cover his feet.
Balder was an incredible powerful and gifted sage and he was the current holder of the Right of the Light. Many sages believed that in time Balder would become the next head of the Lumens, but fate took a different turn for the young sage.
In the clan of Umbra Witches there was a young witch named Rosa. Rosa was a beautiful woman with a slender yet curvy bewitching figure, with long black hair and grey eyes. She wore a long black dress and boots and a tall beehive shaped hood that normally covered up her head and face. Rosa also wore a pair of butterfly motif glasses.
Rosa was a incredibly powerful and gifted witch and many in the Umbra Witches believed that she would either be the next witch to hold the Left of Darkness, maybe become the next head of the Umbra, or maybe both, but like Balder fate had a different plan for Rosa.
Years ago Balder and Rosa had met each other at Shinkoku Trastrium. The two had been accompanying their superiors to attend a meeting. The superiors had gone into a meeting room leaving Balder and Rosa outside. There had been an awkward silence as the young sage and witch waited outside. After what seemed like forever Balder decided to break the silence by introducing each himself and Rosa introduced herself. The two of them exchanged pleasantries by telling the other about themselves, their clans, and what they hoped to achieve in the future. Rosa shared some candied nuts she snuck into her dress with Balder. It was in these moments that a bond began to form between the two. About an hour later the meeting was over and the superiors left taking Balder and Rosa with them.
Months later Balder and Rosa encountered each other again on a mission to destroy an infestation of Goham. The two of them fought side by side and they grew to respect the others combat skills and talents. The mission had been a complete success and the team of demigods, Lumen Sages, and Umbra Witches had gone to a nearby city to celebrate their victory. During the celebration Balder and Rosa had danced together and they felt great joy and excitement. Later on the two of them sat together on a small hill and gazed up at the stars. It was a lovely evening and the two. Rosa had her hood down and when she glanced over at Balder, she couldn't help, but notice how handsome he was. She looked at the sage and then she just leaned in and kissed him right on the cheek and pulled away. Balder turned to Rosa with a look of surprise on his face and a blush on his cheeks. Rosa just gave Balder a small mischievous smile before she stood up and walked away.
Balder just sat there not sure how to respond to just what happened. He first thought that maybe Rosa drank a little too much wine at the celebration, but she seemed very sober, when she kissed him and left. Balder liked and respected Rosa, but now he was starting to experience other stronger feelings for the witch. Feelings he began to realize were love. Did Rosa love him back or was she just messing around with him? For now Balder decided it was best just to see what Rosa did and maybe ask her about her feelings at a later date. Balder stood up and went to go retire for the night.
Unbeknownst to either Balder or Rosa their feelings for each other had changed both their fate and their plans. The next mission the two would encounter each on was good to be incredibly dangerous and involve a Umbra Witch attempting to form a pact with a Goham.
