Chapter 18 The Guest

Asura, Rosa, Balder and Bayonetta returned to Shinto with Loki. Rosa, Balder, and Bayonetta took Loki to the home they shared with Asura's family, while Asura had to go and make a quick report to Deus. Bayonetta thought that they should let Luka examine and question Loki, since he had experience studying unusual things and maybe he could shed some light on Loki and what he was.
Elsewhere Asura's was in Deus's quarters making his report telling him about the odd events and the powers Loki had displayed. Deus was intrigued by this and wondered if Loki could be a valuable asset or weapon to use against the Goham. Asura finished his report and Deus told him to keep a eye on Loki and report any findings or new developments about the child, before dismissing him. As Asura was leaving he saw Kalrow's ship coming and briefly wondered what the other general had been up to, before heading to his quarters.
At Asura's residence, Loki had been introduced to Durga, Mithra, and Luka, before being taken to a part of the household that was used for medical reasons to be examined. Luka asked for a small demonstration of Loki's powers. Loki had Luka set up some glasses as makeshift targets and he easily destroyed them with his cards. He then concentrated and summoned his ethereal arms and had them pick up some boxes.
"Very interesting." Said Luka.
"You're amazing!" Said Mithra.
"You think that's cool, watch this." Said Loki as he pulled out another card and held it up.
There was a flash of light and Loki vanished and was replaced with a tiny cute flying squirrel that had Loki's forehead mark as well as tiny versions of his necklace and armbands on as well as some tiny bands on his legs. Mithra's mouth dropped open in awe as he picked the squirrel up and began to pet it affectionately.
"Oh you're so cute Loki!" Said Mithra.
Bayonetta noticed a small satisfied smile on Loki's face as he was petted and loved by Mithra.
"Clever little thing." Said Bayonetta with a little smirk.
"So what do you make of Loki?" Asked Durga looking at Luka.
"Well from the power he has displayed as well as the mark on his forehead, there's a very high possibility that Loki is one of the halves of Aesir the God of Chaos." Said Luka looking serious.
"Wait...so believe that child is half of a god that created our world?" Asked Bayonetta.
"I do. I've seen that mark on Loki's forehead on some of the ruins I've studied. The question I have now is whether Loki is the good half of Aesir or the evil half." Said Luka.
"He doesn't appear to be evil." Said Rosa.
"True, but evil is supposed to be good at fooling and manipulating." Said Balder.
"What would the evil half want?" Asked Durga.
"Well according to my studies the evil half will seek out a power the good half has. That power being the Sovereign Power. A power that would allow the evil half to take the Eyes of the World from Bayonetta and Balder and control them becoming a new Aesir without any goodness in him." Said Luka.
Balder's right eye briefly glowed blue and Bayonetta's left eye briefly glowed red.
"Well we just have to keep a close eye on our guest then and hope he's the good half." Said Bayonetta.
"If he isn't will deal with him." Said Balder.
