Happy Anniversary from the Kids

Jaune and Pyrrha were both sound asleep in their bed at roughly nine o' clock on a Saturday morning, both of them arm in arm with each other in a loving embrace, when their door was flung open and their four children, Aurelia, Jaundice, Sephyra, and Liakada, rushed into the room and dog-piled onto their parents, knocking the wind out of them and awakening them instantly. "Good morning, mom and dad!" they all said in unison while Jaune and Pyrrha groaned at having been awakened against their free will. "Guess what day it is?" asked Corona, the oldest and clad in red hair and blue eyes hidden behind black-rimmed glasses, who held two gift-wrapped boxes in her hands.

"Saturday…" grumbled Jaune.

"Yes, but it's a very special day, daddy!" said the youngest, Liakada, who bore her father's blonde hair and her mother's green eyes. "Don't you remember?"

"Uhh…what?" Pyrrha mumbled.

"It's your fifteen anniversary, mom! Fifteen years since you and dad were happily married!" went the second oldest, Jaundice, who bore an uncanny resemblance to his father. Both he and Sephyra (who had red hair and green eyes) got off the bed and went outside the room and came back with two trays of food for their parents.

Jaune and Pyrrha were quick to notice that the breakfast their kids made, scrambled eggs, bacon, and orange juice, contained burnt bacon and the eggs were slightly overcooked. Pyrrha herself shot a glance at Jaune that told him that from now on, he should consider giving the kids some cooking lessons. The two thanked their children for the meal and dug in, and despite its status, they both enjoyed it, both in taste and the appreciation that their children cooked breakfast for them both.

Upon finishing, Jaundice and Sephyra took the trays away and Corona handed their parents the gifts. "Happy anniversary, mom and dad." Jaune took the blue one while Pyrrha took the pink one. They both unwrapped it together and lifted out their contents, which happened to be matching blue and pink Pumpkin Pete pajamas, complete with bunny feet and a bunny ear hoods. "We all thought they'd be perfect for you two, what with how much you both love Pumpkin Pete," Corona remarked, as she too was wearing Jaune's old Pumpkin Pete hoodie from his Huntsmen days.

"They're wonderful! Thank you, everyone!" Pyrrha beamed.

"I haven't had pajamas like these in ages! Thanks, kids!" went Jaune, flashing his children an approving smile.

"Yay! They loved it!" whooped Liakada.

"Would you kids mind leaving your father and I alone so we can try these on, maybe spend some time together before we face the morning?" asked Pyrrha. The kids all understood that their parents sometimes want privacy to be intimate with each other and to love one another, especially nowadays raising four kids (though Liakada has been hoping for a new little sibling as of late), so they gathered the empty trays and left, closing the door behind them (with Corona twisting the locking mechanism before closing it completely), and leaving the Arc parents alone.

"Morning, hon!" Jaune called before leaping on top of Pyrrha, making her laugh with excitement. They both closed together in a loving kiss, which made Pyrrha giggle thanks to Jaune's neatly-trimmed goatee.

"Good morning, husband," went Pyrrha, who wrapped her arms around Jaune's neck and allowed him to lift her up onto her knees. "Hard to believe it's been fifteen years since we got married, hasn't it?"

"And look at you, you still look ten years younger than you should, even after four kids, intense combat, and being resurrected from the dead," Jaune whispered.

Pyrrha suddenly got serious. "Hey now, no need to say that. I don't want the kids to know about…me being dead once…"

"It would be a heavy load on them, to learn their mother was dead and revived. Imagine the questions they would have. Imagine them looking at you differently, looking at their mother knowing that their mother died once, that they could've never been born if it weren't for your mother…" Jaune hushed up, realizing his mistake too late.

Pyrrha fell forward with her face in Jaune's shoulder, prompting him to wrap his arms around her and cradle her in his embrace as she silently wept for her mother, Thetis, who gave her life to the Gods so that she could be revived, thanks to Jaune's efforts as well. "Mom…I wish she was here to see us…" she sobbed.

"I wish she was here too, I really do. She deserves to be able to see her grandchildren and to see you again…" Jaune lifted Pyrrha's head up by her chin and stared into her sad eyes, and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "…but I'm glad that she loved both you and I enough to give her life to reunite us." That turned Pyrrha's frown into a smile, making her wipe at her tears.

"Thank you, Jaune. I feel better already." She glanced down at the Pumpkin Pete pajamas at their knees. "We better change into our new pajamas and show them off to the kids." They shared another kiss before dressing in their new pajamas, which both fit perfectly. They both headed downstairs, hand in hand, and presented themselves to their children, who squealed at the sight of their parents. Corona herself whipped out her scroll and took some pictures to share to her Maskbook while the rest swarmed their parents with hugs. The entire Arc family shared one massive hug together, and during it, Jaune observed Pyrrha and saw the wide smile across her face and the heard the laughter emit from her mouth.

"Take care of my daughter for me, Jaune," Thetis Nikos asked of him as the two stood before the twin Gods and the empty recreation of Pyrrha's body born from the Relic of Creation. "Protect her with all your strength, make her happy, but most of all, let her be able to live her life however she wants, free of destiny. Can you do that for me, Jaune?"

"I will. I promise," Jaune answered with tears in his eyes, before embracing Thetis in a last tight and tearful hug.

Jaune stared happily at his wonderful wife and children. Thetis, I fulfilled my promise. Thank you for giving me the woman I love back.
