Unfamiliar with the Sea
Childe stretched his arms and took a deep breath, feeling the soft breeze of the beach wind. "Mm, blue skies to fit the beautiful sea. There's nothing quite like it, right Yelan!"
Yelan was busy sunbathing but still heard his boyfriend call out to her. She removed her sunglasses and smiled at him, "Like what you see? No nation has a better beach than Liyue if you ask me."
Childe crossed his arms, letting out a slight hum before saying, "Though, I prefer if it was cloudy here."
"Really?" Yelan raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't that dull the sea's blue color, making it less appealing?"
Childe let out a playful laugh. "Sure, but there's something about the atmosphere of a sky covered in nothing but clouds, like back in Sneznaya. Everything looks darker, but in my eyes, the world has much more depth when hidden from the sun."
Yelan rolled her eyes, holding in her desire to giggle. "Never thought I'd hear you talk like a veteran sea-watcher, Childe. I rate that bit of poetry...a six out of ten."
"Poetry?" Childe asked, walking to his sneaky girlfriend, "Come on, babe, you know that's not my style."
Yelan finally let go of the giggle. "Sorry, sorry. I couldn't resist."
Childe smirked as he wrapped his arm around her exposed waist, feeling a slight tingle of lust creeping into his mind.
"Better look up here for your apology, my adorable Harbinger," Yelan spoke as she pulled Childe into a kiss.
"Mph!" Childe's eyes widened as he experienced the soft, delicate taste of Yelan's lips. Her lipstick became wet, causing some of its contents to slip onto Childe's lips, but he didn't mind. He held her close to his chest, feeling the warmth of her slender, sexy body and resisting the urge to do unspeakable things to her.
But eventually, they broke away, staring into each other's eyes, panting for air.
"See, what'd I tell you?" Yelan smirked at the Harbinger. "If I had gone for your throat, you'd be dead."
"As if I would allow you that pleasure, babe. I'd simply find my way to kiss you repeatedly until you dropped your knife." Childe's eyes dulled at the idea of fighting Yelan with love.
Yelan giggled at her menace of a boyfriend. "The blue looks good on your lips, by the way."
Childe rubbed the blue lipstick mark off his lips. "You wear lipstick everywhere you go?"
"Why wouldn't I?" Yelan asked, "My beauty helps reel in men foolish enough to say anything to a woman."
Childe chuckled, resting beside her, "Aw, that doesn't sound fair to me at all, babe. Those men won't be appreciating such a pretty face with loving pecks." He said this as he leaned over to kiss her on the cheek.
Liyue's proud secret agent blushed when she felt the tender kiss from who was supposed to be her sworn enemy. Yet, the company of someone as battle-hardened as him comforted her. Despite their vast differences and allegiance, regardless of her rule of now trusting even the kindest of acquaintances, she knew that the Fatui Harbinger would have her back because he respected her strength-something that is not earned easily nor often. "W-Weren't you interested in the sea a while ago?" She wanted to hide her excitement for a little longer.
"I still am. My siblings and I have always wanted to go to the beach, but the snowy climate doesn't allow such fun."
"In that case, maybe you should consider moving your family down here in Liyue," Yelan suggested, "We have enough said for the kids to make sand castles and have sand fights."
"Sand castles and sand fights?" Childe asked, "Can you show me what that's like?"
"Hell no," Yelan spoke coldly to him.
"Aw...but I won't know how to show my siblings if you don't," Childe whined.
"You can ask anyone else back in Liyue to show you, but I'm not getting my hands dirty in the sand."
Childe sighed, "Fine, but if my little brother asks you to play in the sand with him, you better not refuse."
"Ah, right..." Yelan said as her gaze turned away. Her mind pondered the idea of playing in the sand with children. Such an image didn't fit one such as her at all. She was more used to covert operations at night, intimidating her foes for information on high-profile criminals. However, she longed for that kind of life, if only for a second. She may have lived in the shadows too long. A change of pace for a day or two wouldn't hurt.
"Alright, Childe," Yelan said with a smile, "If your brother, himself, asks me to play, I'll do so."
Childe let out a victory sigh. "Thanks a bunch, babe. You won't regret it."
Yelan smiled as she gave her love one more heartfelt kiss, lasting at least thirty seconds before she parted. "I better not."
