CatNap woke up to DogDay still sleeping on his chest and Player taking a picture of them
"Cute"said Player
"Seriously?"said CatNap getting DogDay off of him which made him wake up grumbling
"Why did you move?"DogDay complained
"Ya comfy?"said Player
"... Oh"said DogDay
"C'mon guys you're late for Dinner"said Huggy
"Coming"said DogDay offering his hand to CatNap
He didn't take it and got up himself which made him earn a bit of a saddened look, they walked into the house and sat at the table with the rest of the smiling critters and this time Poppy and Mommy Long Legs was there
"Hey guys"said DogDay excitedly
Everyone happily greeted him, DogDay sat down and looked at CatNap
"C'mon CatNap, sit down"said DogDay patting the seat next to him
CatNap analysed the table and there was a free seat next to Bobby and Bubba so he decided to sit there which confused and slightly hurt the dog
"Why is he avoiding me?"thought DogDay
"Why are you sitting next to us? Go sit with DogDay or someone else who will put up with you"said Bubba
"I mean I don't have a problem with it, I think it's quite nice he chose to sit next to us"said Bobby
CatNap looked at Bobby a bit perplexed
"Well... thanks I..."said CatNap
Mommy Long Legs passed several plates with burgers on it
"Here dears"said Mommy
After they all thanked her she went to get her own plate and then Poppy, Huggy, Kissy and Player finally joined them
"Hey guys"said Poppy
"Hey, where have you and Mommy been?"said Kicken
"We've been looking for caves"said Poppy
"Caves?"said Crafty
"Yes, Mommy isn't fully accustomed to a house, also she feels it's too small"said Poppy
"Well I don't know if there are any caves but maybe everyone can help you"said Player
"I guess they could, tomorrow though... we've been walking for hours"said Poppy
"What'd you think guys? Ya up for it"said Player
"Sure"The Smiling Critters said in unison
"Thank you sweethearts"said Mommy putting both her hands on her chest
"Y'know I was thinking after we eat we could all watch a movie"said Player
"MOVIE?"yelled DogDay wagging his tail
"Wow... I can't remember the last time we all sat down and watched a movie together "said Picky
"Tell me about it"said Hoppy
"Maybe that wouldn't be the case if CatNap hadn't turned his back on us"said Kicken
"I'm so..."said CatNap
"Back off"said DogDay
"What-"said Kicken outraged
"Everyone cool it, Kicken we talked about this"said Player
Kicken scoffed and remained quiet
"Sigh cmon guys how long are you gonna hold grudges, he regrets it and that should be enough"said Poppy
Everyone remained quiet making it an incredibly awkward dinner, once everyone was done and thanked Player everyone left the table except CatNap who just sat there zoning out as he swore he saw something in the back yard and then the thing became more apparent, it was his monstrous form
"You're still a monster, it doesn't matter what you do to tell them you're sorry, you will always be seen as a monster"
CatNap trembled at this and wanted nothing more than death as he thought of ways he could kill himself
"I don't wanna be a monster"CatNap muttered under his breath
"CatNap, you okay? Everyones gone"said Kissy grabbing his shoulder
"Yeah... I might just go to my room... I don't wanna ruin the movie for everyone else"said CatNap
"Now cmon, don't be like that, sure they're mad but that shouldn't get in the way of you connecting with us and you wouldn't ruin it"said Kissy
"Sigh... okay"said CatNap turning to Kissy who was left with her arms open
"I know this is Huggy's thing but..."said Kissy
CatNap embraced her and they walked into the living room were the TV was already on
"Finally, your back"said Huggy pulling his bird into him
"Yeah, just had to get a certain someone"said Kissy hinting towards CatNap
Unfortunately there wasn't enough room on the couches Crafty, DogDay, Bobby and Mommy had to sit on the floor, they were all huddled up against her but CatNap decided to sit as close to the window as possible (far across from anyone) and to make things weirder all CatNap was doing was staring at the window looking fairly disgusted, Mommy caught wind of this and nudged DogDay who was snuggling her arm
"Hey sweety, can you check on CatNap"said Mommy
He took a quick glance at CatNap which made him worry a bit
"Of course Mommy"said DogDay getting up and heading to CatNap and sitting next to him
"Hey, something outside bothering you?"said DogDay
CatNap jumped a bit and shook his head
"CatNap somethings bothering you, please tell me, I can help you"said DogDay
"I don't need your help, I don't need your protection, I don't need your sympathy just leave me alone DogDay"said CatNap
"What's the matter with you? We made a promise the day we left that hellhole of a factory and that was to tell each other everything"said DogDay
"Yeah? Well it looks like I can't keep it"said CatNap
"Why? Why can't you just tell me?"said DogDay
"I...UGH WHATS IT MATTER, JUST GROW UP YOU STUPID MUTT"yelled CatNap getting up and rushing out the room in a fit of rage
All DogDay could do was just sit there feeling hurt and twice as worried for his friend, Kicken immediately got out of his seat and stormed out the room
"KICKEN, damn it just check on DogDay"said Player
Mommy nodded and Player followed after the pair
"HEY CATNAP"yelled Kicken trying to punch CatNap but he just ducked and pinned Kicken against a wall
"Why couldn't you just STAY DEAD"yelled CatNap
Player saw this and immediately intervened by separating the two
"ALRIGHT YOU TWO, ROOMS, NOW"yelled Player grabbing them by their ears and throwing them into their rooms
Player walked into the room where he saw DogDay crying a river into Mommy's shoulder which broke his heart
"Hey DogDay, it's okay, I'm sure he didn't mean it-"said Player
"But what if he did mean it?"said DogDay
"That's not possible, you were both cuddling a couple hours ago... sigh he's going through a lot, I can tell... no matter what he says I want you to be there for him no matter what okay?"said Player
"I never planned on leaving him, after all leaving him is what got us all killed in the first place"said DogDay
"What do you mean?"said Player
"LIAR, LIAR, HE'S NOTHING BUT A LIAR"yelled CatNap breaking down on his couch
He then heard a knock on his door and as soon as he got up his sorrow turned into pure rage, he swung the door open to see DogDay
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT"yelled CatNap going back inside but leaving the door open
"CATNAP I CAN EXPLAIN"yelled DogDay entering
"WHAT IS THERE TO EXPLAIN? YOU NEVER CARED ABOUT ME, YOU JUST WANTED TO SEE ME SUFFER AS IF I WAS NOTHING TO YOU, YOU'RE JUST LIKE THE REST OF THEM"yelled CatNap
"NO, I'M NOT I JUST DIDN'T WANNA SIT BACK AND WATCH YOU HURT HIM"yelled DogDay
"HE DESERVED IT, AND YOU KNOW DAMN WELL HE DID"yelled CatNap
"MAYBE BUT THATS NOT HOW I HANDLE SITUATIONS LIKE THAT"said DogDay
"YEAH, CLEARLY... INSTEAD OF HANDLING IT LIKE THE LOVING FRIEND YOU CLAIMED TO BE YOU LET THEM SUFFER... I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME"yelled CatNap
"I DO..."yelled DogDay trying to get close to CatNap
"NO YOU DON'T, YOU LIED, YOU SAID YOU'D HANDLE IT"yelled CatNap
"I TRIED-"yelled DogDay
"WHAT KINDA LEADER ARE YOU"yelled CatNap
"HEY just cause you're being bullied doesn't mean you get to question my leadership"said DogDay
"And why not, you questioned my actions you god damn hypocrite"said CatNap
"... You know what? Maybe they were right about you"said DogDay
"What?"said CatNap
"You heard me, maybe you are just a freak"said DogDay fairly aggravated
"... AAAAAAGH"yelled CatNap scratching DogDay across the cheek
"GET OUT, IF I SEE YOU AGAIN THEN I WILL KILL YOU"said CatNap smiling at him psychotically
DogDay held onto his cheek holding back his tears
"WHAT?"yelled DogDay
"You heard me, I don't wanna see you again... we're no longer friends, have fun with your REAL ones"said CatNap crying through his smile
"Wait CatNap, I'm sorry..."said DogDay
"NO YOU'RE NOT"yelled CatNap pushing him out of his house and slamming and locking the door behind
"CATNAP PLEASE OPEN UP, IM SORRY, MOON, please..."said DogDay breaking down on his doorstep in the pouring rain
CatNap couldn't hear his pleading as he was crying his eyes out as well
"Why does everyone hate me... Why do people hurt me... I HATE THIS"CatNap whisper yelled to himself as he started filling the room with red smoke as his uncontrollable weeping forced smoke out of his artificial lungs
"We made up after that but I have a feeling that was his breaking point and decided to devote his life to the prototype instead of just living it because he felt like he didn't have anyone to live it with"said DogDay
"But I thought you guys made up"said Huggy
"We did but I only started becoming more distant... just wish I wasn't so self absorbed and spent more time with him maybe things would be different"said DogDay crying harder than before now
"Sigh... looks like he had it pretty rough"said Poppy
"All he wanted was someone to love and I couldn't even give him that"said DogDay
"You tried your best"said Crafty
"No, I didn't, I gave up and I paid the price... we all did, we're responsible for what happened"said DogDay turning to the rest of the Critters
"Woah hold on now-"said Bubba
"Oh spare me"said DogDay walking out of the living room and heading upstairs and walking towards his room but before he could open the door he heard something
"Psst, DogDay?"
"CatNap?"said DogDay looking at a door that was slightly creaked open
"Can you... come here"said CatNap
"Uh... I"said DogDay
"Please..."said CatNap while his voice broke as if he was crying
"Okay"said DogDay walking up to the door feeling a bit anxious
"You're... scared of me aren't you?"said CatNap picking up on this
"Sigh... I can't lie to you Moon..."said DogDay
The door immediately flew open and the dog was pulled into an unexpected hug
"I'M SORRY... I'M SO SO SORRY, I NEED YOU, I NEED YOUR HELP"CatNap exclaimed
"CatNap... I... thought you were angry.."said DogDay
"I KNOW WHAT I SAID... I didn't mean it... I just really need someone"said CatNap
DogDay finally hugged back
"I'll never leave you again, you can count on that... and you never ever have to tell me stuff if you don't want to... just please come to me if you're scared, sad or just wanna hug"said DogDay
"I... thank you"said CatNap hugging him tighter and not intending to let go any time soon
Knowing this he decided to go into his room and opened the window that was connected to the roof, after they both climbed onto the roof they lied down and snuggled into each other
"I remember during the glory days when we used to do this every Friday... even if the Moon was fake it was still beautiful... and now we're watching the real thing"said DogDay
CatNap was too mesmerised by the Moon to respond
"Heh, that's the same face you made when we first did something like this"said DogDay
CatNap giggled and started purring
"If this is what the Moon looks like imagine what sunrise looks like"said CatNap excitedly
"Yeah... yawn... it'll be sweet"said DogDay feeling his exhaustion catch up to him
CatNap sighed knowing that DogDay would end up sleeping and missing the sunrise but nevertheless he placed his head on the canines chest purring
