On the snowy Christmas Eve, Peter was still currently in Gotham City searching for Kraven. He didn't want to be in this city of crime while the holidays were going on and wanted to spend it with his family. But Kraven was still out there and he needed to find him.

"Police and emergency services are urging Gotham residents to stay off the roads in their homes tonight in light of the severe winter storm warning."

Peter was currently sitting on top of a building as it snowed and was talking to Diana. "I know, Di. I want to be there, too. But...Kraven is still out there."

"I understand, Peter," Diana said with a sigh. "Just...try to be here for Christmas day at least."

"I'll try," Peter said as he looked around.

"Delta 6-4, on route."

"Dispatch, 5-9, confirm code 10- this a break out?"

Peter heard that over the radio and figured that it must have something to do with Kraven. "Sorry, Di. I gotta go."

"Go be a hero, Spider-Man," Diana said as they hung up.

Peter then shot off a web to make his way toward the Black Gate Prison.

Meanwhile, bats hanging upside down on the ceiling in the Batcave. One bat crawls over to a noise it hears by the entrance. There, Bruce Wayne enters the cave, alerting the bats and making them fly around the cave in alarm. Following the trail of scurrying bats, Wayne walks into the main room of the cave, the trail ending off with the bats diving down into the darkened chasm.

"No man's an island, Bruce. You've been back for almost two years now, you can't expect me to believe that Gotham's most eligible bachelor is spending another Christmas alone." Vicky Vale said on the news.

"You've just run out of time," Bruce said as he walked off.

The present Bruce Wayne switches the channel to another channel. "All units, all units! Code ten at Blackgate Prison! Communication is down; possible 2-11."

Alfred placed a platter near a picture of Wayne's parents reflecting off the cover.

"Delta 6-4, on route."

"Dispatch, 5-9, confirm code 10- this a break out?"

"Suspect identified as "Black Mask", repeat: code 10 suspect is Black Mask. Commissioner Loeb is being held captive, repeat, Commissioner Loeb is 701."

Alfred watches as Bruce waits for his glass-incased costume holder to arise from the ground, revealing an armored, black Bat suit. Bruce jams his hands into the gloves, clips his belt, assembles his grapple gun, and adjusts his mask before setting his jet to activate via a control node on his gauntlet and marches towards the Batwing. It arises, reading for its constructor to enter as he approaches it.

"You do realize, it is Christmas Eve, sir?" Alfred said as Bruce continued on.

Batman ignores Alfred, hops into a scooter-like chair, and lets it rise into the Batwing with him, reading for launch. The Batwing surves around and zooms in out of the Batcave through a waterfall, officially beginning Batman's mission.

Several escaped convicts were making their way out of a large hole in the side of the prison. When they managed to make it outside, they were stopped by the sudden appearance of Spider-Man, who came down swinging and tackled one of them.

"Hey, guys. Funny seeing you all here." Spider-Man said as he shot another web at the other guy, followed by yanking the prisoner towards him and knocking him out with a spin and kick to the head. "All prisoners should stay in their cells until the screaming and violent-"

He didn't finish his quip as he watched the Batwing violently soar through the Gotham sky, ending with Batman jumping out of the jet and diving right into a snowy courtyard of Blackgate Prison. He lands in the base of it after a quick glide, looking at where he landed, he is met with Spider-Man giving a look of shock.

"Nice landing! Solid 8/10." Spider-Man complimented the hero.

"What are you still doing here?" Batman asked as he walked past Spider-Man, making his way towards the entrance.

"I told you, I was here to stop Kraven." Spider-Man reminded him, following Batman into the prison. "Overheard a police scanner talking about a breakout and figured Kraven might have something to do with it."

"It's not him. It's a crime boss known as Black Mask." Batman said as they entered the hallways, seeing all of the destroyed prison cells. "Now for the last time, leave."

"I am not leaving until I have stopped whatever Kraven is doing here," Spider-Man stated. "You can either stay out of my way or help, but I am going to help take this prison back."

Batman saw Spider-Man and was determined to do this with or without his help. "Fine. But we do this my way."

"Fine." Spider-Man saw this as a fine middle ground for the two.

As they were making their way towards a corridor turn, they heard screams and what sounded like groaning. They looked around the corner and saw Warden Joseph getting hit over the head by a metal bat carried by a man wearing a black mask over his face.

"He says he'd leave my family alone if I did what he asked!" Joseph cried as he fell to the ground, grabbing at his hip.

"I hope he keeps his word. Thing is, you ain't gonna live to find out. Sorry, Warden. Black Mask can't leave no loose ends lyin' around."

"No! Please! N-" The henchmen brutally hit Joseph in the skull with a bat, making him fall down against the ground.

"Oh, I'll kill ya, alright. But by the time I do, that eye won't be the only thing you're missin'."

The henchman turns his back towards the heroes and starts to walk towards Joseph. Batman silently approaches from behind the henchmen. Spider-Man was followed by crawling on the ceiling.

"What is that? Behind you?" Joseph asked, noticing the two of them.

"Oh, come on, 'spect me to fall for something like that? I mean, try something original, you-"

Then the henchmen noticed Batman's shadow on the wall and gasped. He alarmingly turns around where ge then sees Batman, and attempts to smack him with the bat.

"And who do you think you are?" He asked and tried to attack.

Spider-Man was quick as he countered the swing, yanking the bat and allowing Batman to deliver an elbow to the henchman's face. Batman then grabs the henchman by his throat, flips him over to the ground, and violently snaps his arm, knocking him out.

Joseph looked up and thought Batman was hostile towards all. "No! Stay away!" He grabs a nearby pipe and attempts to smack Batman with it, which is again countered. Batman then grabs his arm and bends him over, ready to snap it.

"Don't hurt me!" Joseph begged and Batman let go and let the Warden speak. "I heard the rumors, but..." he starts to scoot away towards the wall. "... y-you're not supposed to be rea-"

"Who tore this place apart?" Batman looks over his shoulder and hears a loud roar echo throughout the facility.

"I didn't like that," Peter commented in fear. "And I fought Rhino."

"I don't know what it is, it's huge!" Joseph said in fear.

"Where is Black Mask?" Batman asked him, ignoring the noise.

"I-I don't know. He's here for Commissioner Loeb! Maybe one of his men knows where he's headed." Joseph tells him.

Batman, after thinking about the info, heads out to the center of the prison. Spoder-Man just decided to keep following the Dark Knight and made his way down the halls. As they made their way through, they made their way through Cell Block A.

Spider-Man spots a duo of Black Mask henchmen ahead. "Who are these guys?"

"These are Black Mask's men. I'll make them tell me where I can find Black Mask." Batman stated as he opened the doorway.

"I-It's the BAT!" One of them cried and went into action.

Batman quickly sprung into action as he used his grapple to attack one of them. Spider-Man offered help and he then used a web to yank his way over to punch one of them. Bruce then interrogates his henchman by placing his boot on his head at an angle he could break his neck in a single ankle jerk.

"Where's Black Mask?" Batman demanded to know

"How the hell should I know?" The henchman asked.

Batman then puts more pressure on his neck. "I'm going to make you talk. How much pain you endure before that is in your hands."

"Screw you!"

"I don't have time for this," Batman stated.

Spider-Man then intervened and he tapped Batman on the shoulder. "Hang on. Let me try something I use to interrogate."

Batman decided to see what he had as Spider-Man only crawled over to be face to face with the henchman, and when he raised a hand, it seemed to scare him enough. "Okay! Okay! He's headin' towards the execution chamber with Loeb!"

"See?" Spider-Man stated cheerfully.

"Smart move." Batman complimented Spider-Man. Now you get to take a nap." He said to the henchman as he then slams his boot into the henchmen's skull, knocking them out before continuing his way through the facility.

"Whoa, you are pretty brutal." Spider-Man comments as he strolls through the facility with Batman.

"You have to be in Gotham," Batman replied.

After entering a hallway, Spider-Man sensed something approaching and threw himself and Batman against the wall. Staying silent, they watch as a flying drone patrolling the halls comes into sight before taking off down the hall.

"A drone," Spider-Man commented.

"That doesn't belong here," Batman stated.

"I wonder who is controlling it." Peter commented.

As the two of them were trying to follow the drone, all of the prison cells began to open up, causing both of the heroes to freeze and see they were surrounded by criminals. But that didn't seem to spook them.

Batman sprung into action as he ran and started to use his martial arts skills, some of which Spider-Man had never seen before. But Spider-Man had his more traditional acrobatic skills and webbing to take down criminals on the loose. When they were done dealing with the handful of crooks, they made their way over to a door to see a heavily armed door.

"Think you can open that?" Batman asked Spider-Man.

"Let's find out," Spider-Man said as he grabbed onto the door and started to pull it open. When he got the door open enough, he allowed Batman to slip past. "Go, Go!"

Batman did exactly that and Spider-Man came through, letting the door close behind him. Then they looked down the hallway to see the guards and convicts were in a battle, followed by looking on ahead and seeing a large, reptilian-like man throwing another security guard across the room with his mouth.

"What is that?" Batman asked in shock.

"Oh good, I thought I was alone on that one," Spider-Man admitted.

The man, Killer Croc, walks away and out of the room.

"But...he's...he's gone crazy!"

"Talk like that is what gotcha in this mess in the first place." One of Black Mask's men said when he noticed Batman and Spider-Man, making him sprint towards him in hopes of beating him, but of course, it didn't take long for the two to just punch him in the face, sending him flying backward.

"Don't hurt me! Please!" The guard begs as they pass him and advance off to the prisoner processing chamber.

"Let me out! Do you know who I am?" They heard Vicky Vale, a reporter say from the other end.

"This is Vicki Vale, reporting live from Mike's underpants!"

"God, criminals disgust me," Spider-Man growled and looked towards Batman. "Any idea how to get through?"

After using a Batarang to activate a button that opens a sealed door that leads to Vicki Vale's location, the door wasn't opening all the way up. Batman slides on into the room filled with thugs outside of a cell filled with new reporters, one being Vicki.

Batman began to fight the men while Spider-Man came crawling inside and leaped onto the wall to then ricochet himself to tackle one of the crooks, webbing his face to keep him from getting back up. Batman then used his grapple to yank one of the thugs who tried to sneak up on Spider-Man right before he could react.

Batman leaves the room without interacting with the crew by using explosive gel to blow up the floor of an elevator. Spider-Man approached him after releasing the reporters and was confused.

"What are you doing?" Spider-Man asks him.

"That area of the floor is weak. I can use my explosive gel to break through the floor." Batman explained to him.

"Okay, and why?" Spider-Man asks.

"Because that's where they are," Batman stated, preparing to detonate.

"How could you tell? You got eco location or something?" Spider-Man asks.

"Something like that." Batman detonates the gel, sending him to fall down in a room over a block down.

Spider-Man however didn't go with dropping as he shot a web to the ceiling, not wanting to fall. "I guess I'm taking the long way." Then he began descending downward into the hole to follow Batman.

Batman lands gracefully with his cape as he looks over through the one-way glass. Once there he sees Killer Croc, Black Mask, and a group of his henchmen. He watched hopelessly as Killer Croc slams down a prison guard.

"They say crime doesn't pay. But someone 'ought to check the good police commissioner's pockets." Black Mask stated as he looked around the prison. "Because they are LINED with my money."

Croc pulls out Loeb and forces him to face Black Mask with a group of following prisoners surrounding them, cheering them on.

"And what have I got to show for it? My own men in the slammer? Not no more. No, tonight, we're makin' some CHANGES! Some big changes."

Killer Croc pushes Loeb out of view with Black Mask leaving the room.

"You're a dead man walkin', Loe" one of them called out.

As Batman is slowly sneaking up into the room with the several prisoners via a vent. Spider-Man just reached the ground and followed Batman into the vents.

"You think that it's weird that there are always human-sized vents?" Spider-Man whispered as he followed Batman. "I mean, I'm grateful for it, but why are they always so clean? You'd think with all of these vents, there'd be a lot of dust or stuff."

"You never stop talking, do you?" Batman asks.

"Yeah, not much. I even end up talking to myself a lot of the time." Spider-Man admitted.

Batman ignores him as he then drops into a circle of the conversing prisoners. Before they could react, however, Spider-Man jumped in and quickly webbed them to the ceiling and left them dangling on the webs.

"Yeah, sorry, it sounds like we're on the clock right now," Spider-Man stated as he then walked down the hall.

Batman rolled his eyes and just kept following the path before Batman took a separate approach. Spider-Man turned and noticed he was heading somewhere else. "Where are you going?"

Batman then used his explosive gel to blow up a wall, allowing them to enter the execution chamber access, and crawling through a series of vents, Batman heard Black Mask up ahead of him.

"Part of me wants to flip that switch, but it IS Christmas Eve...and he IS the Calender Man...and that's just too perfect to ignore. And you're going to owe me for this Julian and that could be...useful."

When Batman exits the vent, it brings him to a spectate room over the execution chamber. Spider-Man followed after him and they look down below through the glass and saw Loeb, Killer Croc, Black Mask, and his henchmen near a gas chamber, meant to be the one to execute the Calender Man.

"What's this about, Sionis? H-Haven't I always come through to you?" Loeb asks.

"You may have, Gillian. But things have changed. We're making a new slate." Black Mask stated. And you're not on it."

"What are you talking about?" Loeb asks as Black Mask's henchmen begin to drag him towards the gas chamber. "I'm not on it?! After all I've done for you!" They toss him in the chamber and slam the door. "You can't do this! I'm the police commissioner, dammit!"

He bangs on the door as Batman attempts to break the glass and get inside before Loeb is executed. Crock exited the room with Black Mask, just when Spider-Man webbed the chairs and threw them at the glass, causing it to shatter and allowing them to enter. Before they could reach the gas chamber, it already releases around Loeb, chokes him, and kills him in a fit of coughing.

"He's dead..." Spider-Man growled as he punched the chamber in a fit of rage.

Batman seemed to be just as upset. "Black Mask has a lot to answer for." Right after that statement, a group of thugs burst into the room, ready to fight the Dark Knight and Web-Slinger, but are quickly defeated as both of them were in a fit of rage for losing the Commissioner. Spider-Man leaped and tackled one before punching them in the face, whilst Batman punched the last one in the face. They made their way out of the chamber and into the security corridor.

They make their way upwards while Batman listens to a comical conversation between Black Mask and Killer Croc through a large staircase. Spider-Man noticed that the drone was crushed and was on the ground. Batman then notices it as well as he then inspects the memory card they're talking about.

"I told you to GRAB THE MEMORY CARD!" Black Mask stated.

"You wanted it smashed, so I smashed it!" Croc stated.

"It had better be, or the next thing that gets smashed WILL BE YOUR FACE!" Black Mask promised.

Croc annoyingly growls and they seemingly walk away. They watched a moment before finally seeing that there was no way they could either hear or notice they were there anymore.

"So, you got anything out of that card?" Spider-Man asks.

Batman nodded his head. "The memory card is damaged, but I should be able to recover most of its data back at the Batcave." He then used his grapple gun to make his way upward towards the roof.

"The what-computer?" Spider-Man asked as he shot a web to follow Batman.

Batman reaches the top of the stairs and climbs up to the rooftop via a ladder with Spider-Man right behind him. There, on the snowy roof, Black Mask and his henchmen enter a helicopter, as Killer Croc stays behind on the roof and gestures the driver to take off. He does so, as the copper is quickly out of sight right before Batman drops down behind Croc.

Killer Croc said over his shoulder to the two heroes. "Thought I caught your scent back there."

"Is he saying I stink?" Spider-Man asks.

"I know I caught yours." Batman retorted to Croc.

Spider-Man then began to sniff his armpits. "I mean, it's been a minute since I last washed the suit, but I thought nobody would notice."

Croc rips off a nearby propane tank from its stationary hinges and chucks it at the two heroes. Batman invades as the tank explodes on impact by the wall it hit, whilst Spider-Man leaps and lands on the spikey fence, leaving a firey mess behind them as they prepare to fight the Killer Croc.

"How are you at fighting guys ten times your size?" Batman asks.

"Uh, have you met Rhino?" Spider-Man retorted. "It's a hobby!" He then leaped in and tried to punch Croc, only for him to grab Spider-Man's fist and begin to squeeze. "Okay, Rhino isn't usually this fast!"

Batman then quickly noticed they were standing behind another one of those exploding canisters and used that to his advantage and threw a Batarang at it. Once the Batarang hit, it caused an explosion for Spider-Man to escape Croc's grasp. Spider-Man then used this to his advantage to web Croc so he could limp away. That seemed to anger Croc as he ripped the webbing off his face and snarled at them.

Batman, clad in his iconic cape and cowl, moved with calculated precision, his eyes fixed on the hulking figure of Killer Croc. Spider-Man, his red and blue suit glistening in the snowy night.

"Okay, quick question: who's your dentist? You should really think about a refund. Or maybe not, you are kinda looking sharp." Spider-Man cracked a quick joke to lighten the tension, earning a smirk from the Dark Knight.

As Killer Croc roared, the roof trembled beneath his massive frame. Batman lunged forward first, his fists blur of strikes aimed at Croc's vulnerable spots. Dodging with surprising agility, Croc retaliated with a powerful swipe of his claws, narrowly missing Batman as he somersaulted out of harm's way.

Spider-Man swung into action, shooting webs to ensnare Croc's limbs, aiming to restrict his movements to the gate. He shot a taser even to electrocute him. The creature thrashed and growled, struggling through the electrical attack as he snapped the webs with his immense strength. Spider-Man's acrobatic flips and dodges kept him out of harm's way, his spider-sense warning him of incoming attacks.

Batman, ever the tactician, threw smoke pellets to disorient Croc, using the cover to disappear into the shadows. Meanwhile, Spider-Man landed a series of quick punches and kicks, his spider-enhanced reflexes allowing him to dance around the creature's relentless onslaught.

With a roar, Killer Croc charged at Spider-Man, jaws snapping menacingly. Batman reappeared from the darkness, launching a series of explosive Batarangs at Croc's feet, causing the ground to tremble and the creature to stumble.

Seizing the opportunity, Spider-Man sprang into action, delivering a series of powerful web-enhanced punches to Croc's head. Batman followed up with a swift kick to the creature's midsection, causing him to stagger backward.

The heroes fought with unwavering determination, their newfound teamwork and complementary skills proving to be the key to overcoming the formidable Killer Croc. With a final coordinated attack, Batman and Spider-Man subdued the beast. Batman gets on top of Croc, as Croc's arm is wrapped through the gate which is about to fall into the sea.

"Your boss. Where's he going?" Batman questioned as he punched Croc in the face, the force loosening the gate.

"Only boss is me! Is'a me!" Croc stated.

Spider-Man then leaped back over and rubbed his neck where Croc was holding him. "Yeah, we have been seeing otherwise all night, buddy."

Batman punches Croc again, loosening the gate even more. "You want teeth, I want answers!"

Batman punches Croc a third time, as the gate is only dangling by a screw or two. Spider-Man watched this and was preparing to help Batman in case he fell off the roof. "You need help there, or..."

Killer Croc looks down into the sea below him that he thinks he's about to fall into. "Wait till Black Mask's assassins get through with the likes of you two!"

"WHAT ASSASSINS?!" Batman questioned as he then punched Croc for a third time, nearly breaking the gate off its hinges.

Spider-Man then heard helicopter blades and turned around to see police helicopters were coming in and they didn't seem to be willing to let the two go. "Uh, Bats? We got company."

Killer Croc simply laughs. "Whoever wins is gonna be famous and rich!"

Batman punches Croc for a final time, making him pass out from the trauma. He then steps back on the roof before dragging Croc off the grate at the last second right before it finally gives out and falls off into the sea. Spider-Man kept his hands raised as a group of cops, led by Gordon and Harvey Bullock, shone their lights at them with pistols aimed at the two.

"FREEZE!

"Hold it right there!"

"You got a way out of here?" Spider-Man asked his fellow vigilante.

"I might," Batman whispered as he then pressed a button on his gauntlet node which activated the Batwing, causing it to fly near him.

"You mind sharing with the class?" Spider-Man asks.

"Just follow my lead," Spider-Man tells him.

"I'm takin' you in!" Gordon tells them.

Batman starts to walk backward towards the edge of the roof. "Not tonight."

Spider-Man was confused when he watched as Batman fell back off the roof, nowhere to be found. Spider-Man looked back to the cops and shrugged. "When in doubt!"

Then Spider-Man followed Batman as he leaped off the roof. The cops walk over to the edge to investigate, when suddenly the Batwing rises, with Batman piloting it and Spider-Man on its roof. The glass opens up, allowing Spider-Man to slip in before it soars off until it disappears. The cop squad looks it awe.

Bullock looked over to Gordon. "No such thing as a bat man, eh?"

The Batwing arrives back to the Batcave, safely landing on the docking bay. Batman dives out and walks towards the bat computer. Spider-Man wasn't able to see where they were going as it seemed like the location was preordained and Batman wasn't flying. He would hope not at those speeds.

Alfred approached Batman as he walked past. "Are you back for the night, sir? Shall I warm up the Christmas dinner?"

Batman denied that. "No. It's gonna be a long night, Alfred."

Alfred then looked over and took notice of Spider-Man who was looking around in awe. "Wow, you must really have some really high-up friends to have this much space. Yet again, doubt you have to actually pay rent living in a cave."

"You picked up a friend along the way, sir?" Alfred asks.

"Hey, hi, names Spider-Man." He introduced himself as he shook Alfred's hand.

"Involuntary Picked him up," Batman replied to Alfred as he got to work recovering the footage. "We just... ran into a human-shaped crocodile who told me Black Mask has hired assassins to kill us."

Batman activates his computer, inserting the memory card he got from before. As the computer boots up and analyzes the card, Alfred and Batman continue their conversation. On the other hand, Spider-Man was looking around the entire Batcave in awe.

"Assassins, sir?" Alfrer clarified. "As in more than one?"

Batman nodded. "That's right."

"And you heard this from the mouth of a crocodile man?" Alfred clarified.

"Wait, you have a boat?" Spider-Man called as he was still looking around the facility. "When does that ever come up?"

A series of profiling reports and incident images of Killer Croc are displayed on the screen. "His name is Killer Croc, and he's already behind bars."

Alfred was shocked when he saw the Croc. "Whoah...I pity his cellmate."

Batman didn't seem to share sympathy. "I don't." He then moved on as Spider-Man made his way over to the setup. "Let's see what else is on the drone's hard drive."

It shows a recording of Black Mask having a meeting with his men. "Each of them gets one of these envelopes" He holds up a bundle of envelopes. "I need them delivered- tonight!"

Batman then zoomed in on a wall of photos. "They're all hired killers, the best in the business. Black Mask isn't messin' around."

First, a profile of Deathstroke comes up.

"Slade Wilson. Deathstroke." they found footage of Deathstroke beating a group of cops before one of Black Mask's henchmen comes by and delivers an envelope to Deathstroke, one of which he reads) Former military- the subject of a failed medical experiment.

Alfred didn't seem to agree. "Failed", you say?"

"Oh, yeah, the same government experiment that gave me the Rhino," Spider-Man remembered that one. "Yay."

Batman moved on to the next one. "Garfield Lynns, a.k.a Firefly. Burns on 90% of his body. His obsession will be his end."

"How unlike ANYONE I know..." Alfred said sarcastically.

Batman then moved on to another one. "Here's a face I don't recognize." A profile of a male Copperhead is displayed. "Copperhead. Strange. These reports reference a male, not a female." The profile shifts between different Copperheads before landing on a female one.

A recording of Copperhead, who is handcuffed, and a cop display.

"Fourteen escapes, huh?" He turns around a scratches his cheek. "Well, you won't be gettin' outta-" He turns around a sees that Copperhead is gone. "What the-?" he cautiously looks around and the recording cuts to Copperhead having her legs wrapped around his neck. "HELP! H-"

Copperhead snaps his neck before noticing an envelope on the ground. She leaps off the dead cop and reads it.

"She seems like fun," Spider-Man replied.

Batman kept looking down the list. "Floyd Lawton. A.K.A Deadshot." A recording of Deadshot sniper on a Roof plays. "Says here he's an expert sharpshooter."

A group of cops come up behind Deadshot. Deadshot jerks around and fires a single shot from his wrist-mounted cannons, the bullet ricocheting off the wall and killing every single cop in one shot.

Alfred was shocked to see how well he pulled that off. "How on earth-?"

"Suspected of many assassinations," Batman answered. "Deadly, but reckless."

"Sounds like my buddy Mac," Spider-Man said, referring to Scorpion.

"Street tough named Lester Buchinsky," Batman said as his profile displayed. "Calls himself "Electrocutioner."

"Someone is overcompensating," Spider-Man replied.

Then they are shown a picture of an Electrocutioner killing a Black Mask henchman who attempted to deliver his envelope.

Alfred replied, "'Shocking."

Batman then saw another one. "Shiva." A recording of Shiva beating up a group of thugs without messing up once. "Her skill is unmatched."

A scared Black Mask henchman hands her an envelope and runs away, the envelope reading: "ONE NIGHT TO KILL THE BAT AND SPIDER. PAYMENT FOR THIS HIT IS 50,000,000"

The next assassin displays Bane and a recording of him beating up a duo of large men.

Batman was shocked when he seemed to recognize the man. "Bane? Here? In Gotham?

Bane snaps both of his fighter's necks before he is delivered the envelope.

"Okay, forget what I said. That guy could take Rhino." Spider-Man replied.

"Why would he be taking money as a hired killer?" Batman asks.

Then a new one showed a man who wears a militarized body suit, wields an energy blade and dons a helmet that resembles a stylized skull. He also wears a gray hood, and the costume has darker colors overall. He drew his blade and sliced down one of his assignments and was approached by one of Black Mask's men. He took the folder and saw there was another one with the same thing.

"I don't recognize him," Batman admitted.

"I do," Spider-Man replied. "He's one of mine. Taskmaster. One of my rogues. A master copier. He can copy your moves just by watching you."

"He seems to be a fun choice," Alfred commented.

There was new footage of a muscular man fighting in New York and killing officers with a spear he was carrying with him. "Oh, there you are," Spider-Man stated. "Kraven the Hunter." Kraven is then approached by one of Black Mask's men takes the folder and grows a grin when he sees the request. "A deranged hunter who is hellbent on being the apex predator, and sees me as his ultimate prize. Sorry, Bats."

"I didn't see that as an insult," Batman stated.

Then there was one showing footage of Spider-Man fighting a man with green wings. "Oh, Vulture. Adrian Toomes is one of my oldest enemies. Literally. A jetpack with metallic feathers he uses to strike opponents down to steal and kill."

"He looks to be in need of a retirement home," Alfred stated.

"Hey, trust me, tried that," Spider-Man stated.

A recording of Warden Joseph being thrown down at Black Mask's feet by his henchmen. "Is that Warden Joseph?" Alfred asked.

Batman nodded. "Mmm-hmm. Must be how Black Mask got inside the prison." A henchman hands Black Mask a lit cigarette, as Black Mask crouches over Joseph and prepares to gouge his eye out with it, explaining how Joseph lost his eye. "He uses torture for intimidation...and entertainment."

Alfred then took into account all of the criminals. Eight assassins after your head. What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to find out who was operating this drone and make them tell me what they know," Batman stated. "Then I'm going to find Black Mask and put an end to this."

"I think you mean we," Spider-Man stated, reminding Batman that he was going to be around. "You have your rogues, but Kraven, Vulture, and Taskmaster are guys that I know. My knowledge can help you, and I can watch your back."

Batman stared down Spider-Man and wanted to see if he was going to flinch or anything. But seems Spider-Man wasn't intimidated by him, which was a first. "Alright. Then let's go."

Alfred watched them leave and tried to stop them. "Sir, I may be stating the obvious here, but you do realize since you and I are the only ones who know your true identity, those assassins will all fail their mandate if you'd just spend the evening here."

"No good," Spider-Man stated. "They'll put innocents in danger to attract my attention."

"He's right," Batman confirmed. "I can't take that risk."

Alfred wasn't sure he followed. "And you think that it's a better idea to just put yourself in their crosshairs?"

Batman, ignoring Alfred, starts to analyze the drone. "There's only one person in Gotham who could get his hands on something like this. The Penguin. He's been tracking Black Mask. According to the drone's GPS, its next waypoint was a rendezvous with the Penguin at Jezebel Plaza. I'll make him talk."

Alfred still tried to stop him. "Are you sure this is wise, sir?"

Batman retorted. "I know what I'm doing."

Batman then made it into the Batwing as Spider-Man leaped into the backseat and they flew out of the cave before making their way out. This was going to be a very long night indeed.
