Claire dreaded the tension that she could feel in the room after the elevator had opened. The room, a hustle and bustle, started to quiet as soon as the elevator door opened, with everyone looking from their stations to her. On the main screen, they had the Indominus' location on screen through its tracking implant.

They were all looking to her for what to do. She was the operations manager. She had to have an answer. But Claire didn't. She couldn't fathom and explanation, to Simon or to anyone in the room. So, she gave out at least something that would help.

"Everyone… remain… calm," Claire tensely sighed. As soon as she had said that, everyone slowly turned back to their screens, the Control Center beginning to set itself to work. Taking a moment to look at the screen, she could see how far the Indominus was from the perimeter of the park now. Claire had to act, now, seem decisive in the face of a crisis.

"The implant will shock it in case it gets too close to a perimeter fence," she stated to the lawyer; through the entire drive and all the way up to Control, his terror had clearly not faded, but he was handling the situation better than she was. How did one get that desensitized to this sort of thing?

"It's moving fast," replied the glasses-wearing desk jockey.

"This is Control, put out a park-wide alert —"

"Hang up that damn phone, please!" The sudden and aggressive tone from Masrani only made Claire stand up straighter, as though she was the one in the wrong. 'I am,' she'd think to herself. Vivian looked briefly to the CEO before retracting her statement.

"Sorry… getting new information. Everything's fine." Claire and Douglass both watched as Simon walked up toward the pair, the lawyer already about to say something as Simon kept his hands up. He seemed so expressive that it was hard not to pay attention when he spoke.

"Let Asset-Containment capture it quietly… the very existence of this park is predicated upon our ability to handle incidents like this. It was an eventuality." Claire couldn't help but agree and nod along with what the CEO was saying. If normal zoos predicated themselves on containing wild animals that could be just as dangerous as the dinosaurs, why couldn't Jurassic World? Why did it need to be one-hundred percent perfect?

"You should put that in the brochure." Claire's head snapped over to look at the sarcastic Lowery, and she was immediately reminded of the failures of John Hammond by the shirt he wore. Of all days, why today did he have to wear something in such poor taste? Jurassic Park failed because of Hammond lacking control. She would not. "Eventually one of these things will eat somebody."

"That paddock is four miles from the closest attraction," Claire reminded, gesturing over to the Aviary on the map and the quickly-moving tracker. "ACU can handle this. No one else is going to be —"

"Eaten?" Lowery finished, his lips pursed as he turned himself around. "Claire. We have to call it in."

"We don't have to do anything Lowery," Claire pointed out, looking between Masrani and the control technician.

"We left behind Owen and Vic over at that paddock!" Douglass pointed out. "Someone is dead… you and I heard it ourselves!"

"Mister Francis, please calm down…" Claire attempted to quietly tell to him. But the lawyer wasn't having it.

"No! Miss Dearing, this is not negotiable! You need to put out a park-wide alert now!" Before Claire could respond, Simon took the reins of the conversation, entering into the argument with attempts to appeal to the lawyer.

"Douglass, you know as well as I do what happens if we do. We cause a panic. The media will come after Masrani Global, and we will need to pin the blame on InGen security practices."

"Oh don't feed me that bullshit, Mister Masrani!" Douglass exclaimed. "John Hammond at least had the sense to conduct an investigation into Jurassic Park before the issue got out of hand. Now we have… uh… you!" — Vivian looked to the lawyer, gesturing to herself briefly as he continued on — "What's our current guestcount?"

"Approximately twenty-thousand and climbing with the next ferry," she definitively stated. Douglass looked to Masrani with those cold eyes, now having pulled off his sunglasses to stare at Claire with abundant concern.

"Claire, we have twenty-thousand people coming here, and you're lining them up like sardines in a can for that thing!" His tone was dangerous and low now, and while Claire couldn't help but agree with him, the way that Simon stood firm to the lawyer told her otherwise. Douglass was not the one in control here. He'd strutted in after an accident, and started making major demands of a large scale operation like it was nothing to scoff at!

"Mister Francis, if ACU can get a handle on this situation, then there won't be anything to worry about," Claire pushed. "We keep this quiet for now. The lawyer threw his hands into the air before catching his sides, walking back toward the elevator before stopping. Claire could tell that the man was contemplating his next actions carefully before he sighed and turned back to Masrani.

"We capture it quietly? Can you guarantee that?" Claire gave a firm nod, reiterating her previous point. ACU could handle this, no problem! They handled large theropods before. What made the Indominus different? She then then turned to Vivian, giving her a nod before she focused her attention back to the screen.

"This is Control to ACU Command. Paddock Eleven has a 'containment anomaly'. We require an immediate situation assessment and recapture from teams. Non-lethal." — Claire couldn't help but give a calm sigh as she heard Vivian try to keep the issue as down-low as possible. She could just barely see Lowery shaking his head from the corner of her eye, while Douglass shifted back toward the edge of the room, taking out a phone to make a call to what she presumed was to other lawyers representing InGen's interests.

"Hey… it's Douglass… yeah… something came up… we may —" When Claire couldn't hear the rest of the conversation, she focused back on the ACU response. Commander Hamada was already briefed on the matter beforehand. He was the closest ACU commander to Paddock 11. If he couldn't handle this, then no one could.

Freedom… freedom was nice. This One couldn't help but feel that her tall walls had always been too small a space to stay in. It was a nest, but it wasn't a full territory. No. Now she had open jungle, all to herself. The small things were easy to fool, easy enough anyways. She had expected Fat to come into her enclosure. She had always wanted to kill him for making her nose wrinkle with those sickly sweet things that he ate. This One could only assume that they were prey for the small things.

She'd put an end to him slowly. She wanted him to fear her, like the small things that used to feed her did. The bitter scent that rolled off of him when she flipped over the small things' metal box was sweeter than fresh meat. Her hope to get that kind of fear-stench off of Small Hunter, however, didn't pan out nearly as planned.

She hadn't been unobservant. She had watched him hide under the long-necked metal box while she was pushing aside the metal part of the tall walls. This One liked his spunk. Small Hunter knew how to hide his scent, though it wasn't good enough to hide from her sensitive nose. But there was surprisingly little fear scent she could've gotten off of him. That bored her. This One wanted to explore after she'd eaten Fat. Small Hunter and Dull Fat could wait another day to be prey.

But what confused her, however, was the scent that she'd taken from him. Small Hunter's scent was off in many more ways up close. Beyond a burning smell that singed her nostrils, This One couldn't help but shake familiarity off of Small Hunter. She'd never met him before… why did he smell like he did? Small things liked to smell overly clean. He smelt familiar: the jungles and the scent of… of her…

No! she screeched out, her roar sounding for death as her mind roiled and burned. The bad memories were not for returning to! They were reminders of the bad she did! Why did she feel this way?! Why did the bad thoughts always make her blood boil?!

It mattered little… This One couldn't blame herself for what happened. It wasn't her fault that nature was like this. So she did the one thing she could do in this situation. She kept moving. She'd keep moving and run away from the bad thoughts. She wanted to explore her new territory fully, then maybe return to the tall walls for a nap. The small things couldn't contain her there forever, and now she had new prey and new territory to explore in full.

And already, the first thing that This One already kept her attention was something different than she knew. There was a chuckling sound that drew the Indominus' attention, her heavy footfalls scaring anything smaller away. When she came upon the clearing, This One could see what looked like the water that she drank in her paddock… but it was running through: a clear and calming, soothing presence that made her mind and her heart hurt a little less.

Leaning down to take a few drinks from the cool, running water, the Indominus couldn't help but feel at peace. This territory was… well, This One didn't know how to describe it. She understood a lot, but she couldn't put her tapping claws on what it was. It was a sight that was a far cry from the old bones and cramped trees of her paddock. This would be a wonderful place to hunt. Maybe she should set up a nest far away from the small things' tall walls. Somewhere around here.

As Owen stepped out from the helicopter, he could only wobble in imbalance. With the adrenaline from before having worn off, the raptor trainer was finally starting to feel the effects of his exhaustion. He didn't know what was going on; hell, he could barely focus through the sounds as he held onto the side of the aircraft for stability. Vic was already out and heading on over to the helipad doors. Without skipping a beat as he pressed the button, Owen was already on his way over. His legs hurt at this point. He knew he must've strained something sliding under the crane.

"You alright, Grady?" Hoskins asked, resulting in a weak nod from the man. Stepping into the elevator, Owen was quick to remain quiet, trying to firm himself up, keep himself strong for what was to come. Now that he had the helicopter ride to think on what happened, he could only imagine what he was going to say to Claire. How could his boss be so stupid regarding the animals she was supposed to keep track of?!

How could someone who ran a zoo not see when an animal was being intelligent in formulating an escape?! That's what concerned the trainer most. He didn't have much time to think about it, however, before the elevator door opened. He was first to step out, with Hoskins behind him.

"I need to see a badge," the security guard stated. Thank god for Vic's less-than-polite demeanor as he practically shoved his InGen badge in his face. He could see Claire staring at the screens up ahead, and his blood began to boil again. His temper wasn't helped by the aches he was currently feeling.

"What the Hell happened out there?" Both Claire and another suit, who he thought was probably Simon Masrani, both turned to face him and Vic while he got up as close as he could to her. "There are thermal cameras all over that paddock! She did not just disappear!" Claire's demeanor shifted from concern to how he had gotten out okay to simply turning away with a cold professionalism that ironically came off as entirely unprofessional. With a sigh, however, she turned back, as though realizing that an explanation was needed; it was damn well needed!

"It must've been some kind of a… technical malfunction."

"Were you not watching?!" Owen interrupted. "She marked up that wall as a distraction, she wanted us to think she escaped!"

"Now hold on," Claire huffed, walking up to Owen and staring him right in the eyes. "We are talking about an animal here."

"A highly intelligent animal!" Owen threw his arms into the air before looking to Hoskins then back to Claire. "You aren't giving these animals enough credit! Did what I showed you at the raptor paddock yesterday not change your mind?!"

"Mister Grady, with all due respect, they are animals… their intelligence is negligible," Claire kept on going. Vic gave a snorting laugh in response to her weak retort, Owen just about to lash out at her even further.

"One mile from the beacon; asset has stopped moving."

"Miss Dearing," Vic started, "Owen and I just watched that animal trick us into opening that door."

"Us?!" Owen started, twisting his head back to Hoskins. Oh Hell no. He would not be roping him into the mess he caused. "Last I checked, it was you that let it out of its cage! I was begging you to wait until Claire could come back and confirm that it was still inside!"

"Grady, you followed me in!"

"Mister Grady, this is not the time for the blame game!"

"Vic, I swear to Christ…" Owen's head was beginning to pound again.

"Four–hundred meters to the beacon, ACU continuing on foot." Owen's focus then shifted to the screens, watching the bodycams of Asset Containment as they began to get out from their vehicles. He didn't know what concerned Owen more. That they were so close to the perimeter fences — at least according to the map — or that ACU was loading up with netguns and taser guns. This thing already killed someone… it'd kill again.

"You're going after her with nonlethals?"

"We have twenty six-million dollars invested in that animal, we can't just kill it," Simon responded. Owen looked to the CEO incredulously, shocked at how he thought that money was the issue here.

"Those men are gonna die," Owen quietly stated.

"Three-hundred meters."

"You need to call this mission off… right now."

"They're right on top of it."

"Call it off… right now!"

"You are not in control here!" And there it was… it was another matter of control for Claire… the way that she had screamed that out made it seem like she was convincing herself more than she was Owen, however; it was painfully clear in the way her lip quivered and… something else. He couldn't quite place it, but it tickled his nose in a way that concerned the raptor trainer.

Vic wasn't impressed and already went up to Masrani, already trying to appeal to him.

"Listen Mister Masrani… money isn't the objective here. You can always make another thing… but Grady's right. Those men are going to die if you do not pull them out right now. You have the power here, man. You're the CEO." Simon seemed to consider it for a moment before something caught the attention of everyone. On Commander Hamada's bodycam, one could see a chunk of what looked like… scaly, leathery flesh on the ground. It was beeping, and turning it over revealed the beacon.

"Blood's not clotted yet… it's close," the ACU trooper stated. Their trail had gone cold.

"What is that?" Simon asked.

"That's her tracking implant, she clawed it out…" Vic replied. Owen had never seen anything like that before… what animal had the intelligence to know where to claw out the tracking implants?

"How would it know to do that?" Claire asked, her tone afraid and meek at this point. Owen had an answer, but one that made his skin crawl.

"She remembered where they put it in…" Such an idea seemed ludicrous… but he'd never seen any of the other animals doing what she did today.

"Team A, take point."

"Copy that." The communications from the troopers were the only other sounds on the cameras besides the shifting jungle. That was, until a moment where something caught Owen's eye. It seemed to catch Hamada's eye as well, same with several others. It looked like just more dense jungle… but then something shifted… something big. The forest seemed to shiver away for pale, dirty white scales and crimson eyes. Those jaws of hers shivered in a call for death.

"It can camouflage!" The comms were then overwhelmed by the sounds of gunfire and the growls and snarls of the Indominus Rex. Hamada had been too close, having taken point with Team A, and everyone watched on the body camera as he was picked up off the ground. Owen's thoughts immediately went to the paddock supervisor and how he died. He almost thought he'd see it again with his own eyes, only for the Commander to get chucked down into the brook and stomped upon. The sound of a heartrate monitor reading no beat told everyone in the room all they needed to know.

More and more carnage was caught on the bodycams of the ACU troopers. Craig, Lee, Miller Speers, Cooper. One by one, names flatlined on the heartrate monitors while all Control and company could do was watch in horror on the bodycams. The Indominus Rex truly lived to her name sake: indomitable, untameable, that much made clear as she calmly, though annoyingly, looked at the ACU trooper that had snapped her jaws shut with a rope launcher, only for her to tear it off and then snap him up in her jaws. His remains would likely need a closed casket.

The remaining bodycams showed a gruesome scene. One of the troopers, Meyers, was being dragged off as another fired slug after slug from a 12 gauge shotgun into the Indominus, only for him to be snapped up in her jaws as well. The vehicle cameras showed the ACU teams, injured and losing much more manpower than they had started off with, driving off in a hurried retreat.

With only the sounds of flatlines echoing through the Control room, Owen knew now that he hadn't been imagining things. She had picked up her prey… she had dismembered, but not eaten them. There was so much more that Owen could fathom. Weak in the knees, he turned to look at everyone else. Masrani, the man who had ordered this animal's creation, had his palms pressed together in front of his lips. He didn't know what to say. The technicians all had looks of abject horror. Hoskins was bereft with what looked to be deep contemplation. And Claire? She was blank… she was looking up to the screens almost in awe, as though she didn't know what to say. But he did.

"Evacuate the island." Owen's voice cut through the silence like a hot knife through butter, and Claire looked down to him with an expression almost pleading to be the one in control. She was not, and as long as he breathed, he wouldn't envy her position.

"We would never reopen…" Owen's blood began to boil again, and he walked slowly towards her and Masrani with obvious ire in his irritated gaze as her lip quivered. She looked about ready to cry.

"You made a genetic hybrid, raised it in captivity. She is seeing all of this for the first time; she does not even know what she is. She will kill everything that moves!" Owen's tone was grave and low. He needed to punctuate to the suits just how dangerous this was. Just how… serious it was. People had died. Good people who, while he may not have known, had just come into work thinking it was going to be a normal day. They knew the risks… but this was beyond the risks.

"You think it's thinking 'bout what it is?" Hoskins clarified, trying to understand what Owen was getting at.

"Contemplating its own existence?" Masrani repeated, turning his gaze away from Owen to the InGen Head of Security.

"From what I'm seeing… she's learning where she fits in the food chain. I don't think you want her to be around when that happens." Hoskins then raised up his arms, letting them flop back to his sides as he looked to Masrani.

"Asset Containment can use live ammunition in an emergency situation. You have an M134 in your armory and some 6 gauge shotguns. We reoutfit ACU and smoke this thing, we won't even have to evacuate the island!" Owen's lips pursed as he turned to Vic, shaking his head.

"No Vic. We need to evacuate the island. This isn't just killing an animal, this is keeping people safe at this point."

"Now hold on Grady, I know what —"

"You don't know shit! None of you do!" Owen pointed out. "She just killed seven people, tricked you into entering her enclosure to escape! Claire, Simon. You need to evacuate the island, now!"

"We have families here! I'm not going to turn this place into some kind of a warzone!" Claire exclaimed, regaining as cold a demeanor as she could put on.

"Would you shut the fuck up?!" Owen's tone was beyond annoyed at this point. The pounding in his head, the aching in his legs and back, the irritation in his eyes, the situation. It was all pouring over to a boiling point. "You already have! Evacuate the island, now!"

"Mister Grady, if you aren't going to help, then there's no reason for you to —" Owen didn't give her time to finish, lashing out with a furious snarl and smacking off a bunch of plastic dinosaurs from the nearby technician's desk. Pain didn't even register as the sharp plastic tips dug into his hand, nor did the sound that came out of his mouth. Everyone now on alert and looking at the raptor trainer with concern and shock in their gazes. Owen then made his way over to Simon, taking a moment to recollect and bring his voice lower. There was that bitter smell again. It practically permeated around him, same as it did Claire. What was that?!

"Simon… it's up to you at this point, not her," Owen spat quietly, "I'm going to have a word with your people in the lab. That thing out there… that's no animal, let alone a dinosaur."

Looking back over to Claire, Owen could see the look of sheer disappointment as she averted her gaze from everyone. The quiet gulps she gave only told of how she must have felt shamed for what she had allowed to happen. 'Good,' Owen thought to himself in stomping toward the elevators. From the corner of his eyes, he could see someone standing in the back corner. He recognized that slicked back, blonde hair, the man giving him a hard stare as he left. He'd be going to the Hammond Creation Labs, where it all began for this thing.

With the peace and quiet of her new territory no longer disturbed, This One couldn't help but rumble out in exasperation. The small things had followed her. It had to have been the beeping thing in her neck. The thing that shocked her before they had come. She hadn't even done anything wrong! This One had just been busy minding her own business, and the next her muscles were spasming!

She had been sick and tired of the beeping thing at that point, and in a fit of anger, This One had clawed out where she remembered the small things — back when they weren't so small — had put it in; it took with it the painful shocks to her muscles as well. The spot was tender and sore now, so were many others where the small things had poked and prodded at her. Most especially her snout. The bleeding there was annoying, having to constantly lap out her tongue to lick up at the wound.

She wasn't safe there… the small things would come after her. She could go back to her nest, throw them off that way, but This One had a feeling that they were smarter than that. The small things were clever. They often acted stupidly and did stupid things, but they were clever enough to know. No. She would never be safe from them. This One had to act. The small things would continue to hunt after her.

The choice was simple: survive by killing the small things, and destroying all their works. She wouldn't need to be impeded by the tall walls anymore; the world around her could reclaim what they built. Standing from her resting position with an affirmative chuff, This One made her way further down the river. She would not let the small things stay.

As soon as Owen had left, everyone started to visibly relax. The way he had snarled, it was absolutely inhuman! How could a person make that kind of sound, even in anger? Claire didn't know what to think on it beyond shame. Looking at the still bodycams of the ACU teams, and then to the population counts… Claire couldn't help but take a breath: 21,216, and climbing with the next ferry. He was right… god damn it, he was right. They needed to start an evacuation. Simon looked distant, almost beleaguered as he listened to the InGen Head of Security.

"Did you see the way that he smacked my dinos? Look at my Apatosaurus!" Lowery was complaining, picking up the tripping hazard that was his toys while Vivian looked to Claire for guidance.

"Okay… okay. I'm going to close everything north of the resort. This is a Phase One: Real World. Bring everyone in." Vivian nodded, already placing her hand on the Bluetooth phone in her ear.

"This is a Phase One: Real World. I repeat, this is a Phase One: Real World. Bring everyone back in. This is not a drill." As soon as technicians set to work in starting the evacuation process, Claire walked on over to Simon, trying to assure him that the situation was under control now.

"Simon?" she asked cautiously. The man perked from his defeated position, looking between Claire and Hoskins as he considered the screen. The words "Phase 1" were now etched on the bottom right-hand side in big, bold, red letters. "Are we going to be able to reopen after this?" Simon's face seemed to contort, as though annoyed by the very notion of reopening the park at this juncture.

"Claire… I… I–I can't promise." Masrani's voice came out broken, like a child that had just watched his ice cream fall on the ground.

"Sir, Mister Masrani… it's not too late to salvage this," he started. "The guests? They may not need to leave the island if we do what Owen says. We kill it, and we do it quickly."

"How do you propose I tell the investors?" Simon asked incredulously. "They will only see the money go down."

"What if… we didn't use the human element here?" Now Claire was made further-concerned. The park was automated, but what automated element could they use?! "What if… we slow this thing down by luring it into a specific sector of the park? We lure it there, and then we let in some other carnivores to kill it? We can dispose of the loose end there, we only need to keep people in the resort, and we can then subdue the other animals and bring them back." Vic's plan… it was already setting off alarm bells in Claire. Too many variables, not enough control. But it seemed like Simon was already considering it.

"I've been working with the IBRIS program for two years, Mister Masrani." Simon's eyes seemed to widen to the size of dinner plates as Claire looked between the pair.

"Hold on, Simon? What is IBRIS?"

"Integrated Behavioral Raptor Intelligence Study," came a voice from the far end of the room. Douglass had finally spoken up, his expression hardened as Simon confirmed what the lawyer had said. "And I do not believe that this plan is a good one, Mister Hoskins. It'll only create more chaos."

"Oh, don't give me that horseshit! We're well past chaos now, we need to fight fire with fire, huh?" Vic seemed dismissive of the concerns as he turned back to Masrani. "They can hunt and kill that creature. This is an application to this program we've been waiting for!"

"Your program was to test the intelligence of those animals," Simon said simply, in as much disbelief over what Vic was suggesting to him as Claire was.

"Yeah… it was, and we did. And in the process, we learned something. They can follow orders, be tamed. They just needed the right trainer, and you have the right trainer. Owen? I've seen him work miracles with those animals."

"This is insane… if you forgot, I'm literally here because those animals are too dangerous to control!" Douglass protested, his expression one of absolute ire toward Vic. "At what point is this a good idea?!"

"Did we not watch the feed? That creature outsmarted and outmaneuvered ACU, some of the best men that I've worked with. Good people… and it made mincemeat out of them. What if we take the human element out altogether? Let nature fight nature, hmm? See, the solution to your crisis is standing right in front of you, and won't need evac or the Board involved, right? Everyone that's died? They signed a contract, they knew what they were getting themselves into… legal can do everything in its power to make sure that they're not going to need to know."

"Hold on, Simon!" Claire interrupted. The man seemed to look at her pleading, begging eyes with a hint of remorse, but there was a coldness to them, as though he blamed her for this! "Mister Masrani, I've done everything that's been asked of me so far… I am prepared to save lives… but this plan is crazy. You can't possibly be considering it." The lawyer made a gesture toward Claire, clearly showing that she was the only other voice of reason here.

"Let me be as clear as I can Vic. No Velociraptors are going to be set loose on this island," Simon stated. A sigh of relief was taken by Claire and Douglass, but Vic clearly wasn't having it. He wasn't done at all as he gave a light chuckle, as though he'd just listened to a funny joke.

"You're… you're out of your mind. What're you gonna do with all these people? You got twenty-thousand people here. What're you gonna do? They have no place to go!" At that point, Douglass seemed to purse his own lips. Claire knew that he was right… there was no place for the guests to go besides the resort, where all the shelters were. It was one, big buffet if the Indominus made its way further south.

"That thing is a killin' machine!" Hoskins reiterated, "And it will not stop… what, you're gonna let her take the reins again? After she got… what… seven people killed on her watch? Phase One just alerts the mainland to prepare ships for an evac. If we do this now, if you let me take charge of this situation, Phase Two ain't even gonna be needed. Hell, if I was running this show, I'd have smoked this thing after the first one."

"Now wait just a minute —" Claire tried to protest, only for Masrani to raise his hands at the pair, keeping them separated.

"Alright! Alright… Mister Hoskins, I intend to personally look into your plan to determine its viability… within the moral principles of this company."

"Hold on, Simon, please. We don't have to —" Claire tried to begin again, only for Simon to snap his gaze at her with a sharpness she hadn't expected.

"Miss Dearing," Simon ended abruptly, not even allowing her a chance to speak. Vic now seemed to be mulling over the statement from the CEO in his head. Where did Hoskins have the gall to tell Masrani off like that?!

"Okay boss. What's your next move?" Lowery and Vivian were now looking in Simon's direction, not Claire's. She gulped again at the awful feeling in the pit of her stomach. How could this day have gone so wrong?

"For now… you keep track of where she is… bring additional reinforcement from Site B's security teams… and I want to talk to Mister Grady about this plan before I even consider it. In the meantime, Asset Containment here will be outfitted with heavier equipment, and rangers sent on patrol to look for the asset." Vic gave a nod, short and firm, with a begrudging respect before Simon pulled Claire off and away from both Douglass and Vic.

"Claire… after this is all done, I am afraid I'm going to ask you to turn in your badge." It was at that moment that Claire's heart sank. It was over… and Claire didn't know what to think at this point beyond how disappointed she was in herself over this.
