A/N: Alright, got another Chapter of this filler fic here. This one is gonna be another slice-of-life Chapter if you will, with pretty much no action, horror, or even much supernatural stuff at all, really. And it might be a bit... heartwarming.
For the timeline, this will take place right after "The Adventures of Alice Pierce" by PotCFan101. Enjoy, my friends.
Star City, 2018
Alice Pierce and Nora Darhk were at the playground, playing ball with one another. You see, just a week ago, Alice and her Dark Titans team, consisting of her, Nora, William Clayton, and Trixie Espinoza, had quite the adventure of their lives.
First, they'd started going to Star City Middle School together, and on their literal first day, one of the Green Arrow's old enemies, Lonnie Machin, broke into the building and threatened to blow it up. But luckily, they took care of that problem.
And afterward, Alice made possibly the worst decision of her life when she used a page from the book known as the Necronomicon and traveled back in time to the late 80s and prevented Charles Lee Ray from killing her grandfather. But at the cost of her family being brought back to life, that caused the timeline to change for the worst.
Her Uncle Andy and Aunt Nica never got married, Oliver Queen died on the Queen's Gambit and his father, Robert, became the Green Arrow instead, except he was more like a cold-blooded killer rather than a Hero taking down crooks in the system. And then, Trixie… simply never existed, as Chloe Decker died when she was very young.
Because of Alice changing the timeline, that caused the alien race known as the Dominators to invade Earth and turn it into ground zero, but thankfully, Pierce was able to correct her wrongs and change the timeline back to normal.
But then, it got even weirder as then Alice and her team fought an evil doppelgänger of her Uncle from Earth-2, but with the help of the doppelgänger of Andy's late father as well as the hacker known as Aiden Pearce, he was defeated.
Now… Alice felt tired after all of that, and to relieve some of that exhaustion, she and Nora decided to just take a break from crime-fighting and act like normal kids their age. William and Trixie were on the side watching them play.
"Man, I'm telling you, Nora. That was some shit last week." Alice muttered, passing the ball to Nora. "But hey, at least we got through it fine."
"Yeah, definitely on that." Nora nodded, throwing the ball back to Alice. "You know, this is actually the first time I can remember when… I feel like a normal kid."
Alice paused after Nora said that. Huh… She never realized that.
From the side, as Will and Trixie watched the girls play, Will couldn't help but focus his attention on Nora.
It was weird though, because out of all the Titans, he and Nora had known each other the longest… even if it was through very bad circumstances with Damien Darhk kidnapping him.
And ever since then, he couldn't help but feel enamored with Nora, which was even more apparent ever since they started working together.
Almost as if he was… he was…
"Whatcha thinkin' there, Will?"
Will's train of thought got interrupted when he saw Trixie looking at him with a smirk.
"N-nothing." Will said, trying to shrug it off.
"Oh really?" Trixie asked, still smirking. "Alright, if you say so."
Alice and Nora continued to pass the ball to each other when they suddenly stopped as they saw a young girl with dark hair, as dark as Nora's (no pun intended), looking to be around Trixie's age if not younger, sitting on a swing… all alone.
But the two were wondering… why was she alone? Did she not have anyone around to keep her company?
"Say, I wonder what's up with that girl over there?" Darhk asked.
"I'm not sure…" Pierce replied. "Think you should meet her and find out?"
"Might as well."
With that, Nora and Alice walked up to the swing-set to meet the girl.
The two reached the swing, and the girl immediately noticed them staring at her. But then, she formed a shy expression on her face, and shrunk down.
"H-hello."
"Hi. I'm Alice, and this is Nora." Alice greeted herself and Nora. "How are you doing?"
The girl perked up in surprise.
"H-how am I doing?" she repeated.
"Yeah, we noticed that you… seem to be all alone." Alice noted. "Why exactly is that?"
The girl then stared at the ground for about 5 seconds before speaking again.
"I don't really get along with the other kids. They often like to tease me, particularly my clothes because, well… I'm a part of a Muslim family."
Alice and Nora glanced at each other with sympathetic expressions on their faces before looking back at the girl.
"Well you shouldn't let that stop you from having fun." Nora said. "I personally think Muslims are cool."
"I don't know about that…" the girl murmured.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I know exactly what that's like." Nora got the girl's attention again. "You see, I have this… connection to an evil sorcerer, and after he'd died, all the kids were mean to me and called me a Witch."
Okay, that was about as far as Nora got in terms of that front, because she obviously didn't want to say anything about Damien Darhk being her father to a girl she didn't know.
I mean, heck, on the first day at Star City Middle School, this one kid named Jackson picked on her for that fact without her even saying anything.
"I'm sorry." the girl whispered. Nora nodded.
"Say, why not come play with us?" Alice offered the girl.
"No, I don't think I should."
"I assure you, we have no intentions and we genuinely want to be your friends." Nora told her.
"Really?" the girl asked.
"Really."
The girl stared at the two for a good 10 seconds… and then finally… a smile was formed on her face.
She then hopped off of her swing and picked up Alice and Nora's ball and threw it to Alice, which she caught.
Alice chuckled after she caught the ball, glad to see this girl in a better mood, before she turned to Nora and threw it to her, which she caught.
Nora then threw the ball back to the girl, who caught the ball and laughed, clearly enjoying herself.
The girl passed the ball back to Nora, who after catching it, threw it back to Alice, and then passed the ball back to the girl.
The girl then formed a bit of a mischievous smirk on her face, and then sat the ball down and ran up towards Nora.
"Tag! You're it!" the girl exclaimed, tagging Nora and subsequently running up to Alice, tagging her as well before running away laughing.
Both Darhk and Pierce laughed as they started to chase the girl around the playground. The girl ran up towards the playground set, and then slid down the slide before continuing to run.
Alice and Nora followed her and slid down as well, and continued to chase after the girl.
But then after a good 20 seconds of running, Nora finally caught up to the girl and tackled her to the ground, with Alice catching up to the both of them.
"Tag! You're it!" Nora said, causing all three of them to laugh even more.
Suddenly, the girl turned around and saw a blue car arrive in the front of the playground. And out the car came a woman wearing Islam clothing, and having similar facial features to the girl.
"My Mom's here, so that's my cue to go." the girl announced as she and Nora got up.
At that moment, the girl gave Nora and Alice a bear hug.
"Thank you so much, Nora… Alice… for becoming the first friends I've ever made."
"Don't mention it." Alice replied.
At that moment, Nora realized something.
"Wait, you never told us your name." Nora told the girl.
The girl formed a smile before revealing her name:
"I'm Zari. Zari Tomaz."
That name shocked Nora as she recognized it anywhere.
It was the name of one of the Legends of Tomorrow from the Waverider who, alongside Ray Palmer, actually was one of the very first friends she had made. But sadly, she had died at the hands of her father along with the rest of the Legends.
But Nora remembered that Zari mentioned that she was from the future. And then a couple of months after her meeting with Zari and Ray, she had met her own future counterpart, who ended up disappearing after the defeat of Damien.
And now, seemingly… here was Zari's present day self… alive.
With that, Zari then ran off from the two girls, and back to her mother.
"Bye, friends!" Zari said, happily waving at Nora and Alice, who with small smiles on their faces, wave back.
After Zari left, William and Trixie walked up to the two, with the latter slurping on apple juice.
"Well, that was something." William commented.
"Yep. Plot twist!" Trixie said in a sing-songy tone.
"Well whatever it is, safe to say, I'm glad to have made a new friend." Nora said.
"Right back at ya, Nor." Alice nodded.
But then something else clicked in Pierce's head.
"Although… I remember Oliver and Diggle once said that whenever Barry went back in time and created Flashpoint, some of the changes remained in-tact after he changed it back to normal, such as Diggle's daughter being changed into a son." Alice started. "Zari told me that she lived in Washington for most of her childhood, until settling in Seattle."
Oh boy, Nora, William, and Trixie knew exactly where Alice was going there.
"Do you guys think by any chance that me changing the timeline last week may have caused Zari to move to Star City?"
"It's a possibility." Nora replied, before turning around as she saw Zari's mom's blue car, forming a smile. "But honestly, I'm fine with it either way, as I'm just happy to have her around again, even if it's a younger version and not the same one I knew."
Alice grinned after Nora said that.
"Alright guys, let's head on back to the bunker. Oliver's probably got dinner waiting for us."
The team nodded, and with that, walked their back to the Arrowcave, with Nora still grateful to have her old friend back…
A/N: Yep, with this Chapter, I brought back Zari Tomaz from "Legends of Tomorrow"... or rather, introduced the present day version of her, since like with Nora, the adult version was from the future. So I figured even though the adult version had died in "Andy and Nica: Dark Legends", that wouldn't have erased the younger version from existence.
So now, Nora and Alice have reunited with Zari... in a way. It's funny how in "Legends" 3x10 (which was adapted into Chapters 6 to 12 in "Dark Legends"), Zari insisted that the younger Nora would just have fun and not let any baggage affect her, and now we have that same Nora telling a younger Zari the exact same thing. So we pretty much have a nice role reversal here.
Other than that, I'll have to say is thanks to Aragorn II Elessar for providing me the basic idea for this one.
I'm thinking my next Chapter will be very similar to this one, so more than likely, I won't be doing another action or horror centered Chapter till after that one. So be on the lookout for that when I drop it in another week or two. Till then, see ya later!
