A/N: As a part of the Quidditch League, this is my story for the prompt (family) Prewett as beater for Pride of Portree.

Diagon Alley was a bit gloomy due to the recent attacks and fear among the wizarding population. Molly Weasley stood outside Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes; her gaze fixed on the whimsical chaos unfolding inside. The shop was standing out in the Diagon alley with its chaos and flutter of people around it. Memories flooded her mind as she watched her sons, Fred and George, execute another elaborate prank on unsuspecting customers. She couldn't help but think of her older brothers, Fabian and Gideon Prewett, and the mischievous legacy they left behind.

As Fred and George joined her, a curious glint in their eyes, Molly couldn't contain the nostalgia bubbling within her. "I was just thinking about your uncles, Fabian and Gideon," she said, her voice tinged with fondness.

The twins exchanged intrigued glances, familiar with the tales of their legendary uncles. "Oh, the legendary Prewett twins, right?" Fred asked, a smile tugging at his lips.

Molly nodded, a wistful smile playing on her lips. "They were quite the troublemakers in their day."

Fred's eyes sparkled. He always loved hearing about their uncles. "They were exactly like us right?"

Molly's heart swelled with affection as she began to think about the similarities that her sons shared with her brothers. "Fabian and Gideon were inseparable. They had a knack for mischief and a sense of adventure that was unmatched."

As they stood together, with the gloomy atmosphere of Diagon Alley surrounding them, Molly recounted few more tales of her brothers' Hogwarts escapades. Stories of transforming the Great Hall into a jungle, enchanting staircases to lead to nowhere, and even turning the headmaster's prized phoenix into a rubber chicken filled the air with laughter and wonder.

Fred and George listened with rapt attention, hanging on their mother's every word. The stories of their uncles painted a picture of two daring wizards who embraced life with boundless enthusiasm and an irrepressible sense of mischief.

"They sound amazing," George said, a hint of admiration in his voice.

Molly nodded, her heart swelling with pride. "They were. I only wish you could have known them."

Their conversation was interrupted by a sudden explosion from within Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, followed by raucous laughter. Fred and George exchanged a knowing glance, their eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Looks like we've got some competition, Mum," Fred said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.

Molly laughed, her heart filled with warmth. "Indeed, you do, boys. Indeed, you do."

They entered the bustling shop, the air alive with the scent of magical pranks and the sound of laughter. Molly couldn't help but feel a pang of longing for her brothers. How they would have relished the chaos of the shop, joining in on the fun with Fred and George. The war on the horizon didn't calm her mind either. It reminded her of how fragile life is during such times and how one news can do irreparable damage.

As they browsed the shelves filled with their latest inventions, George's voice broke through the chatter. "Imagine if Uncle Fabian and Uncle Gideon were here now. They would have had a field day with all these pranks."

Fred nodded in agreement. "They would have fit right in, causing mischief like old times."

Molly's heart ached at the thought. "Yes, they would have. But they're watching over us, I'm sure of it."

Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of Lee Jordan, His face was grave as he approached them, a sense of urgency in his voice.

"Have you heard the news? There's been another attack on Diagon Alley," Lee said, his voice trembling.

Molly's heart skipped a beat as dread washed over her. She was reminded of how a similar attack resulted her brother's death.

Fred and George exchanged a worried glance before turning to their mother. "We need to make sure everyone is safe," Fred said, his voice determined. They immediately closed the shop and put up their strongest wards. It was done very quickly as they were anticipating such attacks and were prepared to defend and fight.

As they sat in the shop at one corner fearful of what would happen yet determined to protect everyone, they couldn't help but remember their uncles and their stories as they have been the topic of conversation before.

"Do you remember the time Uncle Fabian and Uncle Gideon enchanted the suits of armor to dance in the Great Hall?" George asked, a grin spreading across his face.

Fred laughed. "Or when they turned the entire Gryffindor common room into a giant ball pit?"

Their imaginations ran wild as they recalled the tales of Fabian and Gideon's legendary pranks. Each story painted a picture of two wizards who lived life to the fullest, unafraid to push boundaries and challenge conventions. They also remembered their bravery, to fight for what you believe in until the very end.

"I wish we could have met them," Fred said, a hint of wistfulness in his voice.

George nodded in agreement. "Me too. They sound like they were amazing."

Their conversation was interrupted by a commotion outside the shop. A crowd had gathered around a group of Ministry officials, their voices filled with concern.

"What's going on?" Fred asked, his brow furrowed with worry.

Molly's heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. "I'm not sure, but it can't be good."

Fred and George exchanged a worried glance before turning to their mother. "We need to find out what's happening," Fred said, his voice nodded, "Let's see what this is all about."

They stepped outside, their hearts heavy with apprehension, and watched as a solemn Ministry official addressed the gathered crowd. His voice, tinged with sorrow, declared that one of the Ministry's high-ranking officials had fallen victim to the recent attacks by Death Eaters. The news sent a ripple of fear through the crowd, casting a sombre shadow over the alleyway. Fred and George exchanged worried glances, their concern deepening as the reality of the war hit home once again.

As they processed this news, Molly was determined to make sure that this time all of her family and friends will make it through the war no matter what.
