'You know when I imagined meeting velvet crowe for the first time I kind of expected this' I thought 'the therion not immediately snapping my neck not so much'
"How do I get out and where is Artorius?!" Her eyes burned with a hatred I could never feel myself although I could understand the reason
"Can you let go for a second?" I just barely squeezed that out only for her to almost kill me right then and there not doing so simple because I didn't reject answering her question
"And why should I? You can talk just fine right now so answer my question or a sore neck will be the least of your problems!"
Although she said that she still let me go not exactly what I was expecting but it has only been three days since she has gotten here so not nearly enough time or malevolence to cause her to be as heavy handed in getting what she wants
As I straightened up I tried talking to her as casually as I could
"While I don't know where he is I can tell you what I know about where we are. We are in a place called Titania it is an island design to hold both political and demonic prisoners but that's not why I'm here I came here to give you an offer please hear me out before you decide to kill me"
She seemed to think over whether to just be done with it and kill me but after a few seconds relented "what is it? There isn't much you could offer me I've already tried to escape you aren't strong enough to bring me Artorius's head and what do you want out of it?"
I took a deep breath and contemplated how to go about this and just decided to bite the bullet
"I can't help you escape but there is someone who can right now she is following aurtorias, but I have no doubt she will begin to be dissatisfied with the way things are going unfortunately it will be years before she gets fed up enough to come free you. And you are right I am nowhere near strong enough to kill Artorius for you that's where my offer comes in."
Velvet stares at me a hand on her hip and gestures for me to go on with the other
" I want to help you by being your sparing partner this will be heavily benefit me for a while in order for me to get both the skill and experience in combat the way I believe this would benefit you is so your skill wont get rusty and I can give you knowledge of the outside world"
As I got done the hand that had been at velvet's side was once again that of a therion but before she killed me I had to get one more thing out
"That's not the only offer I have! It's just the one that's most relevant right now. I was going to give you this offer in a few weeks but I guess I have no choice but to give it now"
While I was talking velvet had put her hand down but decided to keep it in therion form no doubt as a way to say 'if I don't like it you're dead' not that I needed that anyway
Velvet crowe is someone who I knew about through a video game she had lived a life as a normal village girl in a fantasy world until last week when her brother in law decided to kill her sickly brother or at least that's how she saw it
"I didn't give you this offer since you wouldn't believe me but I have an ability to learn skills supernaturally fast the more common the skill the faster it is I know it seems suspicious, you are probably thinking if you can do that then why are you so weak right?"
She nods "if you could do that then considering you look slightly slightly older than me then you should have the sword skills to kill me in one strike unless you never bothered with combat before"
Shaking a little I prepared to do the one thing most like me never do " you see the reason I'm not strong is because I've only had it for a day let me explain how I got it"
I took another deep breath I already botched one offer I absolutely cannot botch this explanation" I wasn't born in this world before you just decide I'm crazy please let me finish" I interrupted myself as soon as I started
"I don't want to get into my world's history not only do I have no way back but the reason I am in this one is because I died in my own honestly I have no idea how it happened but I was told that I was dead by the one who sent me here"
Velvet raised an eyebrow and finally returned her arm back into a human arm as she crossed them " sent you here? Who was this person and what do you know of them."
"The one who sent me here was a God I've believed in him all my life although I haven't been the most devoted follower and I don't know what caused him to bring me here the only thing he told me was 'here is where you are going and as for your survival you had this idea right? I'll give you a small portion of it the only thing I ask is your continued faith and happiness' although there was more none of it was in words instead the rest of the message was for my soul not my mind"
"And what does any of this have to do with your so called offer?" It seems that velvet was as calm as she was going to get so I got on with my offer
" There is one thing I didn't say about my skill earlier and that is I can share it with one person at a time although I say this the condition to share it is not light"
"Stop stalling and out with it! If this skill of yours exists and can be shared then I'll pay whatever price there is." The vengeful determination was obvious there would be no stopping her now not that I would anyway
"It sounds weird but I can only share it with the one who would be my wife!" This entire time my heart had been in overdrive not only because of my nervousness but also because of how beautiful velvet was but when I finished my sentence I could feel my heart skip a beat
Velvet hasn't been here that long so her hair was only slightly clumped together and her clothes weren't the rags they would become there is not a single word for how beautiful I found her especially now that she is not an anime character
Velvet sat in silence for a little bit before starting to snarl at me the only reason I think she didn't kill me on the spot is for the slightest chance I was telling the truth
"I know it sounds like I'm just trying to get in your pants but just hear me out! Give it a week of training me to determine if I do have my skill and for you to be my wife we just have to pray to God and signify our bond with a kiss"
"That's it? No other requirements just a kiss?" After that I decided to explain what a wedding ceremony was like in my world
"I'm not sure how it is in this world but in my world one of the ways to get married was to make personal vows to yourself, your wife, and God the wife would do the same for herself, her husband, and God finally they would cement these vows with a kiss this is one of the two ways I know of getting married the other is living together for seven years"
Velvet cocked her head to the side a little and put her finger on her chin looking lost in thought for a bit before finally deciding her answer
"Very well I'll give you a week to demonstrate the skill and after that I will wait a month to give your proposal an answer for now leave me come here every day after feeding time got it?"
I nodded my head and started for the ladder before she said something right as I get to the ladder
"If I do decide to accept your proposal I expect you to be here every night I have a lot of stress to work out and more than one way to get rid of it understood?"
"Got it!" I said with a little too much enthusiasm not only had she said she is actually thinking about my offer but she is taking it seriously I would hate for a loveless marriage although many would just think she is talking about consummating the marriage I think she is probably meaning just talking it's one of the best ways to combat stress after all
This is my first time posting and I honestly don't think I would be able to continue this not only because of keeping it consistent but every time I think of an idea I can never commit just decided to post this since I would love for someone to continue it or get inspired off it if possible if you have an idea for this feel free to use this short chapter for your own story thanks for reading it
