01/20/2024: Finally rewriting and updating my stories

There are about three things I am optimistic about.

First, Edward is the enemy.

Second, there is a part of him- and I didn't know how dominant,

That part might be -that part thirsted for me.

And third, I'm unbelievably and irritably in love with HIM!

Edward POV

It's a lovely Saturday morning- perfect for a hunt and quality time with my family. The sun is out, and warm light is spilling into the windows of the front of the house. I'm watching the 2012 Olympics with my brothers Emmett and Jasper in the living room. I lay back on the couch, basking in the heat of the sun, hitting the back of my head and shoulders from the window, while Emmet is cheering his head off as the United States wins its 20th gold medal. The United States is winning the Olympics this year with only a few games left. Jasper and I chuckled at our youngest brother when Alice came out of nowhere and jumped into my lap, crying.

"What's wrong, Alice ?" I asked her, trying to calm her while she clung to me. Jasper, unconscious, moves closer to me on the left of the couch in worry about his crying mate." Y-your future ... I can't see it...no longer!" she whimpers as I wipe her bloody tears away. I try to understand her, but I can't understand her past the tears as Jasper tries to push her hair out of her wet, bloody face. I opened myself to listen to her thoughts to find that she saw my future filled with nothing but...darkness when it brought her to tears. I can't tell what she saw, but I don't get upset. I know her visions can constantly change, but that doesn't stop my sister from trying to get the best outcome.

"I know. Alice, I am not going anywhere. I promise you. You know your vision isn't 100%." I try to console her and hug her with my right arm.

When she finally calmed down, Jasper pulled her in his lap and carried his wife to their bedroom—leaving Em and me in the living room. I look at Em's frowning face. "I'll go tell Carlisle," I told Em before getting off the couch and heading towards his office towards the back of the house.

'There are only two reasons my future would go dark, and Alice couldn't see what caused it.'

Jacob POV

I was doing my daily patrol on the Reservation Treaty Line when Quil tackled me from my right, sending us rolling through woods in bits of sticks and dirty. "W-what the hell, Quil!?" I huffed, blowing dirt off my nose and getting untangled from him.

"Paul told me to come and relieve you," he grinned at me from the ground.

" Well, let's go before Paul gets jealous," I laughed.

'It has been two months since Paul imprinted on Quil, and they have been dog-happy.'

I helped Quil up, and we jogged to Jared's; when we arrived, Quil dashed into Paul's arms, laying back on the couch in the living of Jared's little cabin. I headed into the kitchen to grab one of Embry's delicious muffins. Embry has been getting baking and cooking lately because of his mom. It's cute and helps keep the pack fed. I found Sam and Jared caught in a serious conversation at the table while Embry pulled out his vast muffins from the oven. "Smelling Good, Embry," I smiled, sitting at the table with Sam and Jared. "Jake," Sam offered a small smile of acknowledgment as his eyes flickered toward Emily briefly, walking in behind me. I nodded in his direction as I sat across from him, "Sam." Quil, Paul, and Emily walked into the kitchen just as Embry set out the muffins, bacon, and orange juice.

"Hi, Jake," Emily grinned; "Sup," I smiled. Emily and I have grown closer since Sam imprinted on her. She's been bringing food to my house and helping out with mostly everybody in the pack. She's the best Alpha Mate we ever had. We had nothing against Leah. She was never his mate.

Everyone grabbed a cup of OJ and a muffin, While Sam filled everyone in on tonight's patrolling schedule.

"First watch goes to Paul, Quil, and Leah at seven-thirty tonight. Paul East along the Sol Du River and Quil & Leah West," Sam mumbled with a muffin in his mouth. "Second watch is Me, Jared, and Seth at three-thirty in the morning. I am patrolling East, and Jared & Seth are going West." He nodded to Emily.

" Jake, tonight is your first Heat so you won't watch tonight." Emily smiled, pouring me some orange juice.

"Wait! What?" I yelled, coughing up some muffin bits and clearing my throat before drinking orange juice.

"This is your first Blue Moon since you turned sixteen, and you weren't a part of the pack then," Emily informed me.

" What about Quil? He's the same age as me, too?" I pouted, not understanding the big deal. Quil didn't have any issues.

"He'll be fine, has Paul?" She rolled her knowing eyes at my whining and winking at Quil. He just blushed and went shoving bacon in his mouth.

"UGH!" I groaned. 'It's not fair'

Jared must have seen my discomfort for being left out and said, "How about I stay with him, Sam?" Jared offered. "I don't need you to babysit me," I moaned; just what I need, Beta taking pity on me. I've been trying to prove myself to Sam to be seen as third in command.

" No, that be a great idea. The bloodsuckers in the North don't come down here to hunt that often. So, one night should be okay. Seth, you will be going West then." Sam nodded, reaching for more bacon before the pack tore into the platter of bacon. He probably doesn't wanna lose ground in the East because we haven't met or come into contact with the bloodsuckers in the East. They seemed to honor the treaty they made all the years ago when my ancestors. Which is sound, but they are closest to us, and we don't know what to expect from them.

"B-but..." I tried to refuse, though Sam didn't allow it.

"...He'll stay with you," He growled. I bowed my head. " Yes, Alpha." Sam sighed. " I'm sorry; I am trying to keep you safe." "From what?" I asked, "When an Omega like you goes into heat, there are complications," he said, repeating what the Elders told him. I nodded and asked, "What's an Omega?" Sam grinned and only replied, " A strong-willed Beta."

I stared at him, confused, and looked at Jared and Emily. Who would know being an alpha mate and Beta? Jared shook his head at Sam and nodded at me as if saying, ' I'll tell you later.' I shrugged and went back to muffins. I would have to trust our pack Beta if Jared weren't worried.

Edward POV

I briefed Carlisle on Alice's vision, seeking his insight. He reflected, "It could suggest a clash with a werewolf or the ominous prospect of certain death." Emmett, joining Jasper in the room, voiced discontent, growling, "A mutt on our land?" Carlisle, maintaining composure, reiterated, "We're still uncertain."

Jasper inquired, "What details do we have?" Alice, smiling, embraced Jasper and shared, "It has to be a wolf; I have seen in another vision where Edward confronts darkness. It has some distinct shape."

Finding relief, Esme smiled, "Well, at least we have a treaty with them, even if we haven't met the pack's new alpha. They haven't crossed into these lands. If we encounter them, something else must be at play," Esme said. Visibly irritated, Rose asked, "What's our plan now?" Alice, calmly composed, replied, "We patiently await the arrival of the darkness."

'Which is very soon; yeah, someone new to play with.'

"I heard that, Emmett," I groaned; at least she is in higher spirits now that her vision is more straightforward. Nothing can keep Alice down for long.

That's the first chapter; I hope you enjoy it and want more. I also can't write how Jake imprints on Edward and how they become friends and lovers despite everyone else. Also, I hope you love my side couples as much as I do :D.
