Hey :P Here's a little New Year fanfiction I wrote for today xP Um I'm uploading it now cos if I leave it til later I'll probably completely forget or I'll get caught up doing some antics with muh TT :') Hope you enjoy, it's pretty similar to last years one but still different :P Hope you like :3

I was reliving my Christmas memories in dreamland when I suddenly awoke to the loud squeals of everyone cheering as it was only 11 seconds to midnight. Kicking myself inwardly for almost missing the last seconds of the old year, I sprang into action, running towards the balcony. I knew exactly how I wanted to spend the first few seconds of the New Year.
Ten…
I jumped down from my wicker chair by the window and dodged in between everyone's feet as they gathered in the living room to celebrate the upcoming year with one another.
Nine…
I had finally escaped the mass of people's lower bodies and limbs, feeling more content to be in the cooler, less claustrophobic hall.
Eight…
Turning to my right as I ran up the stairs, I could see my best friend Ash giving Gary Oak a bro hug, their eyes looking way too content with being in each other's arms. I sighed. They had clearly had too much to drink.
Seven…
I bounded up the stairs, taking them two at a time. Despite my ageing, I was still just as quick witted and physically quick as when Ash and I had met, almost a decade ago.
Six…
Slowing down my pace, I scurried into where Ash and Misty's twins were asleep, worn out from all the excitement of their first Christmas.
Five…
I leapt onto the window sill next to Ben and Katie's bed, noticing that I was not alone as James was watching over the two infants as they slept. We didn't exchange words but the warmth in his eyes as he smiled at me assured me that he meant no harm. He was alright really.
Four…
Remembering how close I was to the New Year, I scuttled back out the room and along the hall to where the door leading to the balcony was located.
Three…
I groaned inwardly as I got slightly stuck in the pet flap that was cut in the door just for me. I grew impatient as I became more and more stuck but it must have been my frustration which gave me energy to eventually come free as I plopped onto the wooden floor of the balcony. I made a note that I had to lose some of the holiday weight I was still carrying.
Two…
Sighing with the relief of no longer being stuck in the pet flap, I took an inward deep breath and felt the gentle winter breeze blowing through my yellow fur. I rarely had times like this to myself as I was now Uncle Pikachu to two very special babies.
One…
As I leaped onto the wooden ledge of the balcony, I reflected back on all the adventures of that year.
In that single second, my mind raced through so many things, mostly involving the little treasures that were born early that year. I remembered the day of their birth, James and Ash bickering over how fast the latter was driving on the way home from the hospital. I smiled as the images of their first smiles, laughs, coos, first feeding time and first few steps fluttered through my mind. It had been such an eventful year.
Zero…
Suddenly fireworks from other residents of Pallet Town went off, snapping me out of my thoughts over the previous year. The loud cheers I could hear from downstairs in my own home made my smile increase even more so. It was a new year. A new year to be better, stronger and closer to the people around you. A year with perhaps a few difficulties but nothing anyone couldn't overcome with the help of the people you love. Jumping back down from the ledge to head downstairs to celebrate the New Year with my family, I was filled with positivity. This year is gonna be a good one.
