It was a glorious day in Pallet Town as today was Ben and Katie's tenth birthday. Mother Nature had been kind to the twins on their special day as the sun was shining down on the little house in the hills belonging to Delia Ketchum. They were going to spend their day at their grandmother's and father's old house and everyone was there. My ears were alive with the sound of chatter as Ash put in a little home video for his darling twins to watch. 9 years ago, on their first birthday, everyone had recorded a video message for the babies to watch on the day of their tenth birthday which was also the day before they set out on their journey. I smiled to myself as I sat on the window seat on James Ketchum's lap. I think I was the only one who remembered the horrors that lurked on the dusty tape.

"Is everyone ready?" Ash put the video into the slot in the television, taking a seat next to his wife and the twins. He smiled as his eyes scanned the room. Not everyone who was set to appear on the DVD could be there for the twins 10th Birthday but they were still sure to send presents from all over the world which had been earlier unwrapped and flung in all corners of the room.

"Ash we've been ready for almost a decade…" Gary sighed, slinking his arm around Jayme and playing with his five year old daughter's hair with the other.

While Ash rolled his chocolate orbs at his oldest and best human friend, Cameron piped up in between crunching his favourite snack.

"How have you been waiting for a decade? I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday…"

While his girlfriend Jayde sweat dropped from the corner, Jessie and James tried to separate their squabbling teenagers who had returned home from their journey to celebrate Ben and Katie's birthday.

Sitting next to Jayden, Katie took the remote off her father and held it up to the TV.

"Can I press play please, dad? It is my birthday…"

At this, Ben's tanned little cheeks blew up and he dived next to his sister, pushing Jayden onto the floor as he went.

"It's my birthday too!"

"Settle down you two!" scolded Misty, coming in with drinks on a tray for everyone. "You can both press play because it's both of your birthday."

I smiled to myself as the first video message came on the screen. Everyone wouldn't be so cheery when they saw them past selves.

Ben and Katie gasped when their 19 year old parents came on the screen. They looked as if they could pass for the twin's siblings, not their parents.

"Hello my darlings. Today is your first birthday and I hope you have an awesome day!"

I smirked and looked over at my best friend who was hiding in the corner. He clearly was embarrassed by how excitable he was back then but in reality, he hadn't changed that much at all.

"Ew Ash you look as if you just graduated from preschool, not been a father for a year."

At this my best friend's red headed wife threw a pillow at Gary Oak, desperate to see what she had to say seeing as she just came on the screen.

"Hello my lovelies, I hope your day is as precious as you are. After all, these early memories are meant to be very important."

Misty blushed, remembering she was quoting one of her favourite baby books before giving daggers at James as he smirked and made vomit noises. His smirk soon died down when he and Jessie came on screen, his hair in the one sided spike like it used to be.

"Does my hair look okay…?" he mumbled into the camera while his wife dragged him out the way.

"I don't see why we have to do this, they're not aware of anything at this age…"

At this, everyone watching the tape laughed. Some things had never changed about the ex-rocketeers.

"Happy Birthday Ben and Katie, don't grow up to be double trouble."

Gary was about to scoff at his girlfriend's father before suddenly he appeared on the screen, his teeth bared into a shape that resembled bugs bunny.

"Oh my god…" his mouth gaped open as he laid eyes on his younger self before shaking his head, trying to regain his pride. "What? I still look sexy…"

Gary Oak didn't know what to say to his best friend's infant babies so he just stood there on camera for over a minute, pulling a silly face while Jayme wondered why she was still dating him.

"Can we move on please?" he groaned as Ash poked his side, reminding him that he always used to do that face when his girlfriend or anyone was mad at him.

The laughter was soon directed onto Cameron and his girlfriend Jayde as on came the blue orbed young man, munching a bag of his favourite cracker snack while the female yelled to a figure behind the camera.

"Ugh dad, stop dancing and get over here! I don't know what to say!"

I smirked as everyone glanced at the pair who were still eating and yelling at their parents. The more things changed the more they stayed the same.

After many more messages from May and Tracey, Cilan and Iris, Clemont, Bonnie, Max and so many people from around the world, Ben and Katie's cheeks hurt with laughter and I could have sworn mine were even redder than usual.

"That was the best birthday present ever!" the ten year old twins, clapped their hands in hysterics, going over to climb on the sofa next to their parents. "It's so weird seeing you two in the past…"

Katie trailed off, noticing her father was staring at the TV, his brown orbs wide. I too looked at him, confused from my position with little James and jumped over to join in the bundle and to see if he was alright.

"Daddy…?"

Seeing where my best friend's gaze was directed, everyone's eyes too went to the TV before gasping and then finally falling about with laughter. On the screen were a little tipsy Ash and Gary singing with a squeaky voice from inhaling the helium of the birthday balloons.

"First I was afraid I was petrified…"

Ash blushed beet red, seeing his younger self prancing around with his best friend on camera.

Before the spiky haired male joined in the duet in front of the whole room to see, both Ash and Gary lunged for the remote to turn it off.

I smirked to myself once again as the room was filled with chatter and laughter, all directed at the immature pair of males. Yeah, that was the horror I still had nightmares about, 9 whole years later. It may have been embarrassing to watch for Ash and Gary but it sure gave the twins a birthday they'd never forget.

Happy Birthday Ben and Katie.

The End.

There you go :P Yeah it wasn't really cute and kinda just funny but I hope you enjoyed :') And yeah I took the idea from multiple friends episodes so :P Thanks again and probably see you next week :3
