Chapter 1: A Trip to Inkopolis
At Splatsville, Tyler and Sammy walk to the train station.
"Nice of Terry, and Taylor will come pick us up to take us to Inkopolis," said Tyler.
"(I can't believe it's been 17 months, and 13 days we've join Squidbeak Splatoon)," said Sammy.
"I want to visit Inkopolis. Terry says it's nostalgically rich and full of history. My inner passions will explode."
"(Before we do, we need to check the news.)"
Once the brotherly duo got the window of the Anarchy Splatcast, a jellyfish said, "Starting broadcast in 3…2…1!"
Then Shiver, the Octoling member, said, "Listen up! It's going down… Repping the Splatlands, we are DEEP CUT!"
"Anarchy Splatcast! We're live!" Frye, the Inking member, shouted.
"Ay! (Here we go!)." Big Man, the Manta Ray member, said.
"You lip-synch, we drip ink…," Shiver said.
"Ay, ay, ay! (Shiver, Frye, and Big Man!)" Big Man added.
"Horray for Deep Cut," Tyler and Sammy cheered.
"Time for our next segment, Rumor Fillet!" Frye shouted.
"Ay? Ay. (That's a segment? Sounds fishy.)" said, Big Man.
"I'm not a fan of rumors either. They're not historical," Tyler commented.
"Would this be the rumor about the spaced-out wretched packing Inkopolis Square?" Shiver asks.
"Ay. Ay? (Yeah, I heard about that. Do you think it's true?)" Big Man added.
"What?" Tyler concern.
"(Spaced out?! Is there a gas leak over there?!)" Sammy worried.
"I have seen fewer people from Inkopolis Square in Turf War or punching the clock…," said Shiver.
Frye said, "Hey, you're right, now that I think of it. What's up with that?! Did they find out how rad the Splatlands are and throw in the towel?"
"Highly unlikely," Tyler commented.
Sammy agreed, "(You're right, Big Bro. Cousin Terry is from Inkopolis, and they are pro splatters like we Splatlanders are.)"
"Ay! Ay! (I know! We should go live from Inkopolis Square to get the truth!)." Big Man suggested.
"Big Man…are you just angling for a way to expense a trip to Inkopolis Square?" Shiver questioned.
"Ay…(I just thought it'd be cool for our viewers to see another side of Inkopolis…)"
"Oh, that's sweet of Big Man. And I agree with his suggestion," Tyler smiled.
"(Big Man lover)," Sammy commented.
"And that's it…for now," said Shiver.
"Ooo, spicy!" Frye commented.
"From Splatsville, that's a wrap."
Deep Cut does their signature poses together as Shiver and Frye say, "Catch ya later!"
"And we're out!" the jellyfish cameraman said.
"(Big Bro, do you think Cousin Terry knows what's happening in Inkopolis?)" Sammy asks.
"Who knows?" Tyler continued. "But this case may be something Squidbeak Splatoon should look at. Heck, it's a good thing we're going over there. We might uncover the truth. Yeah, mysteries!"
But when Tyler looks through the window, he sees Shiver and Frye blowing kisses at him. He quickly runs over to the train station with Sammy at hand. The train arrives before it opens. Once the passengers leave, Terry and Taylor wave to Tyler and Sammy to come over.
"HEY! Wait for us!" Frye shouted while running over.
"Do leave Deep Cut in the rut!" Shiver added.
"AY!(Yeah, what she said!)" Big Man yelled.
Deep Cut pushes Tyler and Sammy into the train before it closes up and drives off.
"What are you three doing? Are you going to Inkopolis too?" Tyler asks.
"Of course," Frye holds Tyler's right arm.
"If it means getting a chance to be with you," Shiver says, holding Tyler's left arm.
Both girls said while they snuggled up to Tyler, "We'll take it!
"Ayayayayaya.(Actually, Captain Terry texted us to come along for a mission.)" said, Big Man.
Terry approached them and said, "The Big Man is right, Cousin. The mission involves investigating the knocked-out residents. Cuttlefish told us that Callie and Marie were victims of it, too."
"(This is a great concern. What if the other agents are victims, too?)" said Sammy.
"I think you're right, Sammy. Who knows if the other agents ended up unconscious? Did I understand him right, Cousin?"
"You sure did, Cousin. I'm glad all that teaching paid off," said Tyler, rubbing his fingers together.
"It will be a while before we reach Inkopolis Plaza, so let's kick back and relax."
"About Pearl and Marina, apparently they were on their world tour with another band called Damp Socks during the whole Mammalian Mission," said Taylor.
"They did mention after the Chaos Vs. Order Splatfest. I didn't think they would start it during that mission."
Sammy is seen asleep in his seat while leaning onto Tyler.
"Aw…. How cute. He conks out during a long trip," Tyler commented.
"Say, Tyler, hot stuff, you look like you could need some rest," Frye flirted.
"Yeah, cooly. It would be best if you slept some, too," Shiver winked.
"Now that you mentioned it, I am feeling a bit tired. But I had three cups of coffee this morning while scrap hunting, too," said Tyler.
"Ay ay ay ay ay. (Perhaps you're not used to a long voyage on a train like this.)," said, Big Man.
Soon, Tyler falls asleep, surprising everyone as Off the Hook's song, Muck Warfare, plays in the background.
"Let's not disturb the pair until we reach our destination. That means you, Shiver, and Frye," said Taylor, putting his arm on Terry.
"Aw, man," Frye and Shiver disappointed.
In Tyler's dream, he imagines himself and Sammy sleeping on the train ride before some digital glowing numbers fall and everything glitches out.
And once everything was engulfed in light, Tyler could faintly hear a voice saying, "Help! Tyler! You need to help us! We're all endangered! Gather the bodies of the Splatoon Agents from the Plaza and the Square, and then go to Peral's Mansion! Hurry! There's not much time! Give this message to everyone! This message is from ?ￇﾂഒଘ✧⋆ ?￢ﾜﾧᯅ?￢ﾌﾗഒ ?."
