Hello :P Today is Wednesday so it's time for my usual weekly upload. Easter was technically a few days ago but it's the Easter school holidays so I'm uploading this little Easter fic :3 I hope you enjoy :P
Disclaimer: I own the story and the children of the pokemon characters :3
"3… 2... 1…" Brock paused to tease the group of children. "Let the Easter Egg hunt begin!"
As soon as he said these words, over a dozen children charged around Professor Oak's laboratory, their Easter baskets swinging wildly in their hands. The fields were filled with chaos and the pokemon the older man kept certainly wanted to join in on the action.
We always make a big deal out of special occasions and Easter was no exception. Loads of our friends had flown in from all over the world with their offspring to be here to celebrate with us and see who could find as many eggs as possible.
I glanced from my best friend's shoulder at all the young ones and couldn't help smiling to myself. Some were joining forces and pairing up to see how many eggs they could find while others were most competitive indeed. It is probably not a surprise to you that the most competitive were Eddie Oak and Benjamin Ketchum.
"Haha, I found another one, you loser!" the auburn and purple haired male called from the other end of the laboratory where he found an egg perched on a fence.
Ben gritted his teeth in a frustrated manner before his face softened with joy.
"Who's the loser? I just found two!" he waved the eggs in colourful wrapping to his best friend and rival, a very pleased expression on his face.
Ash was watching the pair's antics with Gary, a loving yet slightly embarrassed look on his face upon seeing his son was acting like a mini him.
"Seeing them sure brings back memories, doesn't it?" the auburn haired professor smirked, handing his best friend a drink.
Ash glanced at me on his shoulder with a smile before accepting the drink and nodding at Gary.
"It sure does." he agreed, taking a quick sip of his drink. "Why can't this thing be for adults too though? I would sure love to get some of this action!"
As soon as he said this, James appeared with a smug look on his face and an arm around the waist of his pink haired wife.
"It's not a competition for adults because we all know me and Jess would kick your twerpy butts."
When Jessie looked confident and nodded, Ash pouted at the lavender haired male.
"I thought you stopped calling us twerps a long time ago. Don't tell me the trend is back?"
Before any of the ex-rocketeers could reply, Misty came bounding over after having a conversation with the coordinator from Hoenn, May.
"I don't know what you guys are talking about but if it's a competition then I'm gonna definitely kick all of your butts." She nodded proudly before glancing between Ash and James. "It's good it's not an adult competition because I'd have to put up with Ash's sulks after he loses and your cry baby tears, Jimmy."
I couldn't help but smirk and laugh fondly at my red headed best friend. Ash and James were two of her favourite people and the love she had for them, made her even more determined to show them up.
Ash was too busy watching his and Gary's sons to hear his wife's insults but James heard. He just smirked playfully at his best friend before handing her a drink.
"Seriously though, who do you think has got the edge?"
Misty took a sip of her drink before looking at the group of children, contemplating. My own eyes looked around the seen, trying to peer in the baskets to see who was currently winning.
Ben and Eddie were still competing fiercely while many of the girls had joined up and were seeing how many they could find together. The noise and chaos had obviously become too much for poor Dylan as he was perched on his mother's lap looking quite distraught. James Ketchum was being a real pal to his best friend, however, and promised to search for himself and Dylan.
I saw Misty's eyes go over to where a group of the parents were cheering from the side-lines. They were taking it just as seriously as the kids were, if not more!
The red haired female finished her drink before tugging on the arm of her lavender haired best friend.
"C'mon, James, let's go explore."
James sighed and tried to resist her pull as I leapt onto her shoulder, keen for some action myself.
"We all know you're gonna help your children out to make sure they're the winners."
Upon hearing these words, Misty flushed slightly red. I wondered if it was because she was appalled at the insinuation or embarrassed she'd been caught.
Misty regained her composure by pretending to give James a whack on the nose.
"I just want to explore Professor Oak's lab a little bit is all." She shrugged before a slightly scared look over her pretty face. "Plus if I run into any bugs then I need you to take care of them for me."
James laughed at the red headed female, resting his arm on her head in a way he always did when he was about to tease her.
"Are you sure you want me to be the one to come with you?" he smirked as they walked through an opening of bushes together. "We all know I'm the one most likely to set the bugs on you."
The green orbed male looked at me and I nodded in agreement but Misty didn't seem to be listening. James poked her gently before seeing her eyes were fixed straight ahead on something.
"What's up? Did you find a bug already- Whoa!"
James cut off upon seeing what Misty was seeing and she covered his mouth before he could make any further noise. My own orbs grew wide at the scene.
Up in front of us were Katie Ketchum and Jayden Morgan, their Easter egg baskets on the floor with the eggs spilling out messily. The young pair was too busy to care as they were deep in quite an intimate kiss.
James averted his eyes to give them some privacy and moved Misty's hand away from his mouth.
"Do you think they finally hooked up? They must have because they're sensible kids. They don't just go around kissing one another."
Misty emerged from the bushes, a slight dazed but pleased look on her face.
"Well that was as shocking as a bug pokemon but still kinda sweet."
Before either of them could say anymore, Ash suddenly came darting in through the bushes, Ben's Easter egg basket in his hand.
"Don't tell anyone I'm helping him but-" he trailed off, catching his daughter with her lips pressed to the son of James'. "Hey, get off my daughter!"
Misty and James' heads snapped upon hearing this and looked at each other with equally huge eyes. Even I began to grow worried.
"Ash won't be as pleased about this as we were. What are we going to do? He's going to flip!"
At that moment, James' other son, Justin came walking past with his own basket full of Easter eggs.
Without hesitation, James took his son's basket, a look on his face to show he was serious.
"Give me these please and I promise I'll buy you tons more."
Justin just shrugged and allowed his father to take his basket. I couldn't help but laugh as Misty snatched the basket out of James' hands and thrust it into the arms of Ash.
"There you go, look at all the yummy eggs!"
James, Misty and I all shared a stifled laugh as Ash beamed and began tucking in to the feast of chocolate. He seemed to be distracted for now but I wondered how long it would last for. Ash would have to accept that his daughter now had a boyfriend, no matter how hard it will be to let go. Love is just as sweet as chocolate. But somehow, I didn't think Ash would agree with me.
The End.
There you go! Thanks so much for reading and hope you enjoyed :3 So yeah just a little fun chapter with a couple of different interactions which I would like to explore further :P Thanks again and I will be back next Wednesday like always :3
