Hey :P This weeks chapter is a bit different for me actually. It's RocketShipping again and it's kind of an AU based on if Ash, Misty, Jessie and James didn't make up and become friends after they quit Team Rocket. I was a bit nervous to write it because it's so different but I hope you enjoy :3
Disclaimer: I own the story kind of. It's inspired by an episode of the TV show "Friends" :P
I was sat on the sofa by the window in a coffee house when a familiar lavender haired man walked through the doors, towards another sofa. My limbs pricked with tension, that was until I remembered he had since grown out his obsession with me and no longer wanted my in his possession. My eyes were narrowed with suspicious but they soon softened when I heard James sigh and plonk himself down on the couch. I hadn't seen him look this bummed out in quite a while.
I was about to go and risk it all by going to talk to him when a pink haired woman waltzed into the coffee house and over to the lavender haired man.
"Hey James, darling." She greeted but with an unusual quietness to her usually shrill voice.
James stood up and sighed once again before pressing a quick kiss to her cheek.
"Hey Jessiebelle."
Upon hearing her name, a shiver went up my spine for the older man. I had met her a few times on my travels with my best friend, Ash. She was the woman who his parents thought was best for him. I was filled with confusion as I realised he must have ended up with her, rather than the other pink haired lady I assumed he was destined for.
The two sat down on the chair and James looked at her expectantly. When she looked at him with the same expression, he spoke.
"What the hell are you doing, Jessiebelle?" he began, looking down at his hands with a sad look on his face. "Everything was going so well and you just decided to stop talking to me one day. It's been over a week."
The pink haired woman just shrugged, looking down at her own lap when James glanced up to look at her in the eyes.
"I don't know what to say, James darling."
James shook his head, moving slightly away from his current girlfriend.
"Don't call me that if you have no intention of being with me." He ran a hand through his hair, letting out yet another sigh. "For years everyone was forcing me to be with you when I didn't want to. I finally decided to make my parents happy by giving it a go and now you're dumping me. I could have lost my best friends over you because they don't think you're the right one."
Upon hearing this, the pink haired woman jumped and spoke out in a different voice.
"Hey you could never lose-" she stopped, looking away and returning back to her normal, southern accent. "Well if they left you because of me then they aren't your true friends. Besides, maybe I only wanted you because I couldn't have you. Then I had you so…"
She trailed off so James finished for her.
"You had me then you realised I wasn't as good as you thought I was? Wow what a lovely thing to say." He mumbled gloomily, resting his chin on his hand.
Jessiebelle let out her own sigh and shook her head at him.
"I didn't say that. Maybe I realised I wasn't good enough for you. I had you and I realised it wasn't meant to be."
James just shrugged, twiddling with his fingers sadly. After a while, he looked up at her with a slight smile on his face.
"That's unusually modest of you, Jessiebelle. Normally I need to take you off your high horse."
His smile faded when he saw she didn't return the smile and didn't look into his eyes. My own forehead was creased with a frown as I watched the scene. Why couldn't she look at her own boyfriend?
James cleared his throat after a few minutes of silence and stood up, holding her hands so she stood with him.
"I guess this is over then."
Jessiebelle stayed bowing her head but nodded it, stroking his hands slightly.
"I guess it is."
James nibbled his nip hesitantly before lifting up his girlfriend's face in his hands so she was looking at him in the eyes. When their eyes met, they both blushed deeply. The lavender haired man sighed sadly and brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes.
"I don't know if it's because we're breaking up or something but you've never looked more beautiful."
The female blushed even deeper and reached out to squeeze the man's hand slightly.
"R-Really…?"
James didn't say anything but instead he nodded and leaned in closer before looking his lips to hers.
I watched them both kiss for a few seconds, my mind and heart filled with mixed emotions and thoughts.
When they both pulled away, the pink haired girl's mouth was slightly open and James' head was on one side. He was looking at her intensely, studying every feature as if he didn't want to forget it. Soon enough, James did his famous smirk and locked his lips back to hers once again. Their kiss was longer and when he pulled away, he rested his forehead against hers.
"Nice blue eyes, Jessie."
I watched as Jessie froze slightly but couldn't help but smile when James pulled her into his arms and kissed her over and over again. I couldn't help but watch with amazement as for the second time, two people who I had always assumed should be together, had become one.
Waiting for Ash and Misty to turn up for our coffee date, I watched James wrap his arms around Jessie and move his lips next to her ear.
"I always knew it was you."
I decided to turn around and look out the window to let those two continue whatever they wanted to do with one and other. I wondered if James meant he had been playing along and knew it was Jessie, not Jessiebelle, from the start or that he always knew he was meant to be with her. At that moment, I saw Ash and Misty come strolling towards the coffee house hand in hand. That's when I knew, everyone was where they were meant to be.
The End.
There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I actually wrote another version of this a few weeks ago where James tells Katie this story as a bedtime story but I think I like this version better. I may upload the original sometime though :P Thanks again and I will be back next week as normal :3
