Hello :P I know I said I was uploading Wednesday but I completely forgot I had an extra one written this week for Halloween. This chapter has no point really, it's just for the spooky holiday and shows more of the characters personalities and dynamics with each other :P I hope you enjoy even though it's a bit different :3
Ages:
Ash: 21
Misty: 21
Jessie: 28
James: 28
Jayme: 20
Gary: 22
Jayde: 18
Cameron: 20
Delia: 39
Disclaimer: I own the story the story but the farm and attractions are based off Tulley's Farm in England, I think it is. They have a thing called Shocktober Fest and it's basically a really scary Halloween attraction. I watched people on YouTube visit it and thus got this idea :P
All of us were gathered in the surprisingly well lit room, clutching onto our significant others. My paw was clasped onto my best friend's ear for comfort. The atmosphere was that of tension and apprehension but mixed with excitement and adrenaline. You may think we were all about to go into a meeting or something but it was quite the opposite in fact.
It was Halloween and our entire group of close friends had been invited to a horror farm attraction so we could get our pants scared off on this spooky day. I had no idea why we were doing this but oh well. We'd all be together and hopefully have a good time.
"Who wants to go first?" a bright and beaming lady with a clipboard asked the group, her expression and luminous yellow jacket not fitting with the darkness we were about to be engulfed in.
Gary took a step forward and smirked, moving his hand away from his girlfriend's so he could fold his arms. I thought he was volunteering himself but I couldn't have been more wrong. This was Gary, after all.
"I think Ash should go first."
Upon hearing his name, my best friend pouted and moved away from clinging to his own girlfriend in an attempt to look brave. Misty and I made eye contact and shared a giggle. He pretends to be brave but I knew he would be traumatised after tonight.
Ash shuffled over to his best friend's side, his nose stuck in the air.
"Why should I go first? I think the oldest should go first so that would be Jessie or James."
He turned around to face the pair he mentioned, an eyebrow raised in an attempt to draw the attention away from himself.
Jessie and James glanced at each other before James opened his mouth to speak, a sarcastic look of unamusement gracing his face.
"I shouldn't have to go first, knowing you is punishment enough." He turned to high five his red headed best friend who snickered before rolling his eyes at Ash. "Besides, I'm the third oldest and Jess is the second. You're forgetting your mother is here."
I smiled fondly as Ash pulled a wide eyed look of 'oh yeah' then glanced at Delia who was the only one without a partner on this spooky occasion. Normally she would team up with Professor Oak but all the jump scares wouldn't be good for the poor older man's heart.
After a few more minutes of bickering, jokes and Ash pouting, Misty volunteered to go first although her hand was secretly tightly clutched to her boyfriend's. I smirked to myself from Ash's shoulder. He wasn't much use of a protector.
Soon enough we were in a room of dramatically flashing white lights and the sound of manic cackling filled our ears from loud speakers. The lights made it hard to see clearly but I knew for a fact there was fake blood smearing the walls.
I could feel Ash trembling while sat on his shoulder and saw him clutch onto Misty tighter than she was clutching to him.
"I don't think these lights are good for my eyes. What if I go blind?"
Misty rolled her eyes dramatically and was about to tell him off when an angry tone coming from further back filled the room.
"Don't touch my hair or I'll kill you!" Gary hissed as an actor with a chainsaw and a clown mask hiding his face burst into the room and made lunges at each and every member of our group.
Jayme hid her secret fear by rolling her own eyes and taking Gary's hand away from his hair and squeezing it tightly.
"With that chainsaw I think he can do more than ruin your hair, Gary."
I saw James roll his eyes at his future son in law and turn his head back from following closely behind Ash and Misty.
"You're not the only one who needs protecting you know-".
He cut off his sentence halfway through and let out a panic struck scream. I giggled to myself and assumed it was because the room had suddenly gone pitch black but he soon explained as his other daughter, Jayde, told her father off in an embarrassed way.
"I literally just felt someone grab somewhere that is off limits."
Upon hearing this, we all stopped being scared and began to laugh; turning back to James who was clutching said area quite protectively. I saw his eyes go to his wife who returned his look with a playful glare.
"Excuse you, it wasn't me." She shook her head before turning her attention to my best friend and giving him her playful expression instead. "I'm not Ash; I'm capable of controlling myself in public, thank you."
A few seconds of silence soon ensued but suddenly was broken by Delia who got up from kneeling on the floor. She cleared her throat before her delicate voice counteracted the shrill shrieks of the speakers.
"I'm sorry, James, that might have been me." She giggled, her own blush taking over her face as the lavender haired man clutched fearfully onto his wife. "I dropped my first aid kit."
Well you certainly won't find it in there, Delia!
I thought to myself as we all hurried along out of the room and into the next attraction. This time we were being taken around the scary outside fields on a rickety old tractor and cart.
When Cameron saw this was his mode of transport, he clapped his hands joyfully and was the first one to seat himself in the cart.
"Oh goody! Do you think we'll see some chickens?"
I was expecting Jayde to join in on her boyfriend's joyful expression but this time she shared her lavender haired father's look of doubt.
"Cameron, if there are any chickens, I'm sure they'll be possessed or something. We are not taking those one's home."
When we were all seated in the trailer and the tractor was revving up, Delia began reading off the upcoming attractions from her free leaflet she received at the entrance.
"It says here that some exhibits aren't for people with nervous dispositions or are claustrophobic. Oh dear, we should have read this before."
Misty turned to smirk at my best friend who at this point was wearing her pink jacket from the cold and was trembling as he cuddled into her side.
"I think Ash definitely has a nervous disposition judging by how much of a baby he's being tonight."
Gary laughed at the red haired female's comments before giving Ash yet another look of amusement.
"She's right, Ashy – Boy. You're a positive wreck. I thought it would be James who was terrified tonight." He smirked and poked his possible further in law who was scowling before turning to look at Cameron who was happily peering around for any chickens. "Or I thought he'd be the biggest wimp."
Jayde smirked at her sister's boyfriend's comments and cuddled into her dad's side seeing as her own boyfriend was too busy to keep her warm.
"I love how you knew none of us girl's would have been the least wimpy." She grinned at James smugly before turning to high five her mother and sister.
Ash had obviously only just understood what Gary had been saying to him and attempted to sit up straight and folded his jacket padded arms.
"I'm just fine thank you, Gary." He muttered, although his chattering teeth said otherwise. Ash then turned to his mother with a frown on his face. "Did you say claustrophobic, mom? Who on earth would have a fear of Santa clause?"
Everybody groaned as the tractor moved further into the deep, dark woods and assumed that Ash was making an obvious and boring joke about the name claustrophobia. Taking one look at my best friend, I knew his comment had been completely serious.
Before I could even laugh at him, suddenly a large lady with clowns make up and a farmer's accent came running onto the cart and engaging us all.
She let out a cackle as she looked around at our group, wondering which person she was going get close to. As suspected, she stopped looking round when she got to James and stuck her face right in his, giving him a sickening grin.
"I would recognise those pretty eyes from anywhere. You've been here before, haven't you?"
I snickered as the smug man had now suddenly gone completely tense and he was gripping onto his wife and daughter's hands, letting out a few whimpers. When he didn't speak, the actress continued.
"Oh I could just eat you all up, eyeballs and everythin'."
James managed to swallow and regain his pride and began stuttering out.
"Y-You wouldn't want to do that. Especially not my eyes, they're probably as sour as limes." He let out a feeble giggle before turning to look at Ash, his bravery suddenly returning. "You should have a nibble of Ash's eyes. I bet they're like chocolate."
The woman turned her attention from James and took a few steps towards Ash. My raven haired best friend's terrified scream echoed round the farm as she opened her mouth to reveal sharp and rotten teeth.
The actress just cackled and hitched up her skirts and took off back to her farm house, letting us all breathe a sigh of relief, especially James and Ash.
The peace didn't last for long as suddenly another actor climbed up the back of the truck. Gary was too busy poking and making fun of his best friend that he didn't see he had been chosen as the victim this time. Out of nowhere, the actor gripped onto Gary and let out a manic laugh.
"Jesus Christ!" the auburn haired researcher hissed before suddenly his arm shot out and he punched the man on the nose.
Our entire group gasped as the actor's hand went straight to his nose and he dizzily held onto the tail of the truck with the other hand. His legs were dangling close to the ground.
Gary just looked at his fist before up at us all who were staring back at him, our mouths open and our eyes wide with a mixture of shock, horror and slight amusement.
"Um…" he swallowed and unclenched his fist and moved it to rub the back of his neck sheepishly. "Um… Whoops…?"
I shook my head at him and hid one eye with one of my paws.
Gary clearly didn't know what just happened and none of us did. Everybody else just exchanged glances and waited for security to be called on us.
I have been alive for many Halloween's in my lifetime and you'd be surprised to say that that definitely wasn't the scariest moment of my life. Us as a group had been through so many scary and life changing events but we always stayed close and supporting each other no matter what. I wonder if I have had my scariest moment in life already or that I still hadn't experienced it yet? I don't know. One thing I do know is that I won't have to face it alone.
One thing I did know that night, however, was that we were never going to be allowed back to that farm ever again!
The End.
There you go! Thanks a lot for reading and I hope you enjoyed :P I enjoy writing this groups dynamics and I think I introduced a few extra characters quirks. Like Cameron and Jayde taking an interest in the chickens. They're the only couple really who don't have babies at first and have loads of unusual pets (and their pokemon of course) instead :P Me and AAML-TAML have fun coming up with unusual headcanons that's for sure :'D Thanks again and I will be back on Wednesday :3
AmyBieberKetchum signing out :P
