Hello :P It is Wednesday and I am back with a new update. On Tumblr at the moment, there's this thing called PokeShipping Week and basically from the 1st until 7th November, everyone is taking part in creating pokeshipping art or fanfictions or headcanons that fit certain themes. I didn't have the time or enough ideas to write seven so this month, the four stories I will be uploading will all be PokeShipping and fitting the themes. This week's chapter follows the theme of family. I hope you enjoy :3

Ages:

Ash: 27

Misty: 27

Ben: 7

Katie: 7

James K: 19 months old

Jessika K: Five months old

Disclaimer: I own only the story but obviously not the one Ash tells :P

"The End." Ash announced to his children while smiling at them all and shutting the book with an effective noise. His actions were soon followed by whining and unhappy little expressions.

"But daaaaaad!" Ben and Katie whined, glancing at each other before at their father with disappointed looks on their young faces.

Ash smiled fondly at his two eldest children and reached to put the book on the bed side table.

"No buts, you two." He leaned forward to ruffle Ben's hair before resting back against the bed head. "I read you your story and now it's time to go to bed.

Ben looked at his sister once more before giving his father his famous displeased pout.

"Pleaaaaase dad, one more story, just one more." He clasped his hands under his chin hopefully and nudged Katie so she would do the same. "We want a story about filled with action and a hero and loads of pokemon!"

Katie's expression soon went from looking at her father with glistening eyes to sticking out her tongue at Ben in quite a disgusted way.

"Ew no way!" she shook her head, hugging her dressing gown around her tighter. "We want a story about the ocean and mermaids and rough looking but kind hearted pirates!"

Before Ben could give his sister a gentle shove of disagreement, Ash cleared his throat and stroked sleeping baby Jessika's hair.

"Settle down you two." He sighed fondly and consulted his watch before agreeing. "Just one more story, okay? And we'll meet in the middle so we'll both get the stories we want."

While Ben and Katie high fived in a satisfied manner, Ash looked over at me and gave me a warm smile. I returned the smile from Ben's lap, looking forward to Ash's story telling myself.

"I'll tell you a story about when I was a teenager in Unova, that way we are all involved and all happy."

I watched as Ash looked up at the ceiling, his chocolate orbs shining with excitement and fond memories from the past. Upon seeing their father's expression, the twins knew it was going to be a good one and huddled on the bed up against one and other. Ash pulled James and Jessika nearer to his sides before clearing his throat. The story was about to begin.

"When I was about 14 going on 15, I went on holiday to the Unova Region with my mom and Professor Oak. I was buzzing with excitement at being in a totally new place with so many creatures for me to meet."

Ash paused and glanced at Ben who was beaming and his little fists were trembling with excited empathy. I saw my best friend smile with such love at his son before he went back to telling our story.

"As soon as we got off the plane, Pikachu sensed some great energy and went rushing to the end of the pier to investigate. Naturally, I followed him. It turns out Pikachu was affected by a storm created by none other than the legendary pokemon Zekrom!"

My best friend announced the last sentence with such a dramatic voice that all eyes turned to me, even baby James who couldn't have possibly known what his father was talking about. I decided to make use of the opportunity and stuck my nose in the air. Yes, I survived that experience!

Ash reached out and stroked my fur before going back to recounting the event.

"I hadn't even noticed-"

"Wow, such a great trainer, daddy." Katie mocked her father with a smirk on her face as she hid behind her Mr Hugsy.

Ash narrowed his eyes playfully at his daughter but shrugged it off, deciding to ignore her remarks and continue the story.

"Anyways, I got in this battle with a new trainer called Trip and I ended up losing because the storm made Pikachu unable to use his electric attacks."

Once again, Katie butted in but this time with a raised eyebrow.

"You had been training for over four years but you still lost to a rookie trainer? Yikes!"

Upon hearing this, my best friend's nose streaked slightly with a flustered blush and he yelped so defensively that little James began to whimper.

"Hey I would have won if it wasn't for Zekrom!"

"That's what they all say."

Ash returned his daughter's smug and taunting face by shaking his head and curling his lip. He didn't have the time to defend himself because Ben stepped in.

"Shut up, Katie. Daddy is the absolute best trainer in the world." The raven haired boy yawned and rested his sleepy head on his father's legs.

My best friend looked down at him softly and stroked his hair with tenderness. He smiled fondly at Katie as she cuddled up next to her brother.

"I think I'll just get straight to the point because you guys are getting sleepy."

Ash and I shared a secret giggle as both of them protested but let out yawns to contradict the fact they were saying they weren't tired one bit.

"Pikachu was saved in the end because another storm brewed and that seemed to restore his electrical powers."

Ben smiled sleepily up at his father, his fists still trembling slightly with the excitement of the story that was being told.

"Did you go and rematch that trainer to show Pikachu really could use electric attacks?"

The raven haired man stroked his son's nose gently but shook his head.

"No, not right away. Do you guys want to know what I did to see if Pikachu's attacks were definitely working?"

The twins orbs stopped looking so tired and instead looked up at their father with wide curiousity.

Ash smirked at their expressions before pulling me onto his lap and beaming proudly.

"I got Pikachu to use thunderbolt and volt tackle on myself!" he announced before letting out a slight smug laugh afterwards.

Katie returned her father's actions and words with a look of complete confusion and disgust. Ben on the other hand, suddenly lept up from his dozy position and fist pumped the air.

"No way, dad, that's so cool!" he beamed and tackled his father with a hug while Katie still continued to look completely unimpressed. "I'm gonna be as strong as you, you wait and see!"

Ash smiled softly at his son's enthusiasm and pulled all his children into a tight hug, even Katie who wasn't as impressed as her twin brother.

"You're all going to be great, I know it."

As I was welcomed into the hug, I caught sight of Misty who was standing in the doorway, looking lovingly at her husband while holding her hand over her heart. I wondered if she had heard the whole story or just walked in on Ash having a huge family cuddle. No doubt that 14 year old Ash's were stupid, but they showed that he was so proud of me that he trusted me on unleash my powers on him. It was that kind of love, enthusiasm and trust that led him to being the wonderful father that he now is today. I knew from the bottom of my heart that I was so lucky to have a front row ticket in Ash's growth and knew he was always going to keep on growing, proving people wrong and getting kinder by the day. He is my best friend and best everything in the world and every day I hope he understands just how proud I am of him.

The End.

There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I liked writing the little family dynamics of this one and Ash digging into his past adventures. I particularly liked conveying how Katie isn't so impressed by her father but Ben is his number 1 fan :P Thanks again and I will be next Wednesday :3
