Hello :P It is Wednesday so of course I am back with a new update. Like I said in the author's note of "PS: I Miss You", all the chapters this month will be Christmas/Winter themed. This one is based on riding a bike in the winter weather and also an insight to the groups dynamics. I hope you enjoy :P

Ash: 31

Misty: 31

James: 38

Ben: 11

Katie: 11

James K: 5

Delia: 49

Disclaimer: I own the story and Ash and Misty's children :3

"There is absolutely nothing to worry about James, of course you can ride in the winter." Ash smiled down at his youngest son as he clipped the green helmet upon his head.

"I-If you're sure, daddy…" the young boy with chestnut coloured hair looked back at his father without a smile and doubt in his voice. He just stared at his bike without training wheels for a few moments, not getting on just yet.

It was very nearly Christmas and the schools had broken up for the special season and lots of older children were returning home to spend it with their families. Little James had always been unsure on his bike, even in the hotness of Kanto's summer months. Now it was winter and he still wanted to ride but the icy roads proved a bit dangerous. Ash was doing his best to assure him that he would be perfectly safe as long as he wore his hat and safety pads.

As James climbed aboard his precious bike, Misty watched worriedly from the window. The young boy moved one foot from the road and onto one of the peddles. Due to the icy concrete, the front wheel suddenly slipped, causing the handle bars to turn sideways. This was a minute problem but terrifying to young James and he ran away from the bike and onto the safety of the grass.

Both Ash and I laughed fondly at the sensitive boy.

"Oh James, nothing barely happened." My raven haired best friend chuckled at his son but not in an unkind way before without warning, climbing onto the child's bike himself. "I'll show you that it is perfectly safe to ride, even in this weather."

I noticed that Misty was no longer in the kitchen and tidying the kitchen for dinner but rather was now hovering in the hall near the front door. I was about to wave to her as a greeting when Ash began riding his son's bike.

For a few moments as Ash peddled a couple of times, I thought it was a good idea. When he decided to turn the bike and cycle towards James and come to a stop by braking, I saw that it was far from it. Without warning, the metal supporting the seat suddenly decided to collapse under Ash's weight and moved downwards towards the frame of the bike.

When the Pokemon Master got off the bike and set it on its stand, the seat let out a deflated poof or perhaps relief or rather pain?

James just blinked at his broken bike for a few seconds before his mouth went into an "o" shape and he began howling. Ash was too busy glaring at the bike to comfort his son and so Misty came rushing out, pulling the young boy into her arms.

"It's okay, darling, I'm sure it can be fixed." She murmured sweetly into his ear before turning to her husband and hissing in a less motherly tone. "Ash, what the hell did you do that for?!"

The raven haired man just scratched the back of his head and continued staring at the collapsing bike. He was about to open his mouth and defend himself when footsteps were suddenly heard and another person joined the scene.

"I hope it's not an inconvenient time." Purple haired James announced to us all and when he saw that I was the only one looking up, smiled at me. "I've got to be quick; we're making a Christmas cake over at our house but I avoided tidying up time to come and drop off the dress for Katie."

Upon hearing her daughter's name, Misty turned to look at her best friend, a weary smile gracing her pretty face.

"Thanks James. I really appreciate you coming to drop it off." She smiled more at him before turning back to the younger James who was still howling. "As you can probably see, you've caught us in a bad moment."

James frowned and looked between the snivelling young boy and the older man who was silently cursing at the bike before dropping the parcel on the grass and squatting next to Misty.

"I'll say…" he mumbled, reaching out to pat his namesake on the back gently. "What happened here, little one?"

Once Misty had told the story of her idiot husband deciding it was a good idea to ride a five year olds practically brand new bike, James had begun glaring in a disapproving way at his best friend's husband.

Ash glanced up from desperately trying to push the seat back into place, a sour expression now that he had met the eyes of a comical rival of his.

"What are you looking at?"

James didn't retaliate to his unpleasant tone and just shrugged, standing up and making his way over to the open garage. Misty blinked at her best friend's actions but just sighed and left them to it, deciding to focus on little James who had stopped crying but was still looking quite forlorn.

Before I could nuzzle the little boy for comfort, James suddenly came riding into view on someone's bike, looking quite smug as he was perched on the handle bars rather than the seat.

Ash was most astonished by this and stood up, tapping his foot in annoyance.

"What on earth are you doing, James? I thought you couldn't ride a bike without training wheels." He stuck his nose in the air, trying to get him back and showing that he wasn't the top male around the street.

James just gave Misty a secret look to which she returned before going back to looking smug. He removed himself from the seat before deciding to bounce on it, using the bike as a pogo stick.

"How does it feel, Ash? How does it feel that I'm about to break your bike for breaking my namesake's bike?"

It took a while for Ash to process the other man's sentence but soon enough he shrugged, his arms still folded.

"I wouldn't know because that isn't my bike. That's Misty's bike."

Upon hearing this, Misty looked up from cuddling her son to realise that it was indeed her own bike.

"Hey, that's my bike!" she stood up, accidentally shoving James off her lap in the process and causing him to howl once again.

James began to ride away from his best friend as she chased him but I couldn't help but notice the guilty expression that was on his face. Bless him. Even James knew that Misty's bike meant so much to her it wasn't to be touched by anyone else.

He was too busy trying to hide his guilty expression from Ash that he didn't see where he was going and suddenly crashed into a lamppost. I felt so bad for the man as he wasn't even wearing a helmet.

Misty didn't rush to pick up her best friend on the floor but instead picked up her bike, hugging it close to her.

"Whew! I feel as though I've had one too many Christmas sherry's." he laughed, sitting up from lying on the ground and rubbing his forehead. "Damn, I fell on my booty!"

I stifled my giggles as James continued his half delirious, half just him ramblings before he noticed Misty was standing above him with the bike in her arms.

Suddenly terror shot through the man's body and he curled up in a ball, trying to protect his head. (Or perhaps hair? This was James after all.)

"Please don't destroy me with your bike, I didn't mean to ride your one!"

Misty was too busy hugging her bike, James was too busy whimpering, little James was too busy howling and Ash was too busy pouting to see that Delia had suddenly rushed out from staying over at the Ketchum residence, a camera in her hands. Katie followed her grandmother out into the front garden and soon saw James in his heap of terror. As soon as she saw he was in danger, she rushed to his side and began lying on his hair to protect it, despite being eleven years old.

Delia beamed from behind the camera and took a picture that was of James on the ground with Misty looking like she was about to hit him with her precious bike while Katie was nuzzling her uncle's hair. In the background was Ash holding his arms up for attention from his mother while I was doing a peace sign and comforting little James.

Delia took the words right out of my mouth as she gushed and looked back over the picture.

"That is one treasured memory for the family album."

I giggled to myself and agreed most passionately with the older woman. Ash was just doing a nice thing for his son which just so happened to end in disaster. James just nipped round to drop of something for five minutes which somehow ended in an even bigger disaster. That's exactly how life was for us lot. We could never be with each other for more than two seconds without some chaos and amazing memories happening or unfolding right in front of my eyes.

Another thing that I didn't see even though it was right in front of my eyes was that while Delia and Katie were fighting to pick James off the ground and dust him down, Ben had begun to take about a thousand selfies on his grandmother's camera. We weren't a typical family and I absolutely adored it.

The End.

There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I love conveying how despite this group getting older and having families of their own, they never seem to grow up and always playfully (and sometimes not) annoy each other. I hope you enjoy reading their weird antics :P Thanks again for reading and I will be back next Wednesday :3
