Hello :P It is Wednesday so as usual, I am uploading another chapter. I was watching the film "Love Rosie" yesterday and remembered that last time I watched it, I wrote this particular story. I decided to give it a little tweak and upload it today :P I hope you enjoy reading about James and Misty's relationship and an insight into how they got to such a close stage :3

Ages:

James: 41

Misty: 34

Jayden: 16

Katie: 14

Disclaimer: I own Jayden and Katie :3 I guess I better add I don't own James' line of "You keep telling yourself that, darling." It is of course a quote from the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean :P

It was Jessie and James' vow renewal ceremony and everybody was there. The whole room was decorated with the most beautiful things and the tables and chairs were displayed ever so neatly. Over in the corner of the room was a dance floor where the happy couple, who were brought together in front of their family and friends, were sharing a dance.

The lavender haired male had his arms wrapped tightly around his wife's waist and her forehead was pressing against his. They looked a picture of love and unity and everyone couldn't help but keep their eyes off them.

I'm sad to say I couldn't describe that unique pair any longer as suddenly Katie bolted across the hall and out the door. When the orange haired female spotted her daughter, she was soon to follow.

"Katie! Katie what happened?!"

This worried cry was enough to get James' attention and his eyes snapped open as he pulled away from his wife enough to watch Katie slam the door shut.

"What's wrong with Katie?" he mumbled to which Jessie replied with a shrug, a frown creasing on her forehead.

James also shared a worried frown and he pressed a quick kiss to the magenta haired female's lips before moving away from her.

"I'd better go see if she and Misty are alright." He sighed slightly before his piercing green orbs scanned the room to see if Ash had noticed his eldest daughter's sudden sprint.

James and I both shared a glance and a sigh when we saw Ash was too busy playing chubby bunny with profiteroles with his best friend, Gary.

The lavender haired man rolled his eyes in a jokey despairing manner before running down to where Katie and Misty had headed. I followed closely behind him.

The cold evening air hit us as we got outside and James went over to where Misty was trying to get answers out of her daughter, hugging himself for warmth.

"What's the matter, Bubbles?" he mumbled to his teenage goddaughter, his voice soft.

Katie chewed her lip slightly and continued playing with the ends of her side plait. It didn't take her long to open her mouth.

"J-Jayden kissed me."

I noticed that Misty gave off a slight scowl at the fact that James had managed to get her to talk and not her but soon enough the effect of her daughter's words hit her.

"Jayden kissed you?" she repeated, can't helping but beam when Katie just nodded. "Isn't that a good thing?"

James smiled down at the teenage girl, playing with his own hair.

"Yeah, I thought you liked that son of mine."

Katie's pale cheeks became tinted with a delicate pink tint and she wrinkled her nose slightly before being unable to contain her smile at her uncle.

"I do. I really do. But we've known each other forever. He's like my best friend."

I couldn't help but smirk to myself as both Misty and James' expressions were that of the word "so?". So indeed. They were both correct to give her that look. They had been best friends with their partners for years before they got together.

Katie just sighed and shook her head, beginning to tremble slightly. I wondered if it was from the cold or the shock of her first kiss.

"Well…" she swallowed, hesitating and trying to put her feelings into words that her mother and uncle would understand. "Well you guys are best friends aren't you? Isn't it weird and like you two kissing? And I know you never did that. Right?"

Upon hearing this, both James and Misty's eyes grew wide and shook their heads, looking at each other before back at Katie.

"Uh no no no no no no. Nope." The lavender haired man frantically shook his head, his hands moving to the pockets of his waistcoat. "No no. Nope. No way."

Katie raised an eyebrow and looked at her mother who returned her look with an unmoving stare.

"Of course not, what would give you that idea?"

The orange haired teenage girl just shrugged, beginning to pick at her nails.

"You guys seem to be disgusted with the idea of kissing each other-"

Upon hearing this, James couldn't help but interrupt.

"We're not disgusted at the idea. We're both just married and have been for so long so how could we imagine ourselves with other people." James looked at his goddaughter with soft eyes before smiling. "Anyway, you were saying?"

I showed my own smile when Katie couldn't help but smile up at her uncle. That man had always had an amazing way with her, without even trying.

"I'm not disgusted to kiss Jayden. I'm just afraid it won't be anything like I've been secretly hoping. He's my best friend, what if that's over?"

Misty seemed to be taking too long to think of her advice so James smiled fondly at his best friend and decided to speak instead.

"Listen, Katie. Please don't ever not do anything because you're afraid of ruining it. Just go for it. And as for Jayden; even if you guys do give it a try and it doesn't work out, it doesn't mean it's the end of your friendship and what you have. Sometimes it makes you even stronger."

James ended his mini speech by giving Misty a slight smile. The red haired woman returned the look before turning to her daughter.

"There is nothing cosier than falling in love with someone you know really well. You already know everything about one and other and like each other anyway. If you get together that will be beautiful and if you get an idea of what it will be like to be a couple but it doesn't work out, your friendship afterwards will be beautiful too."

Katie just nodded slowly, listening to both of the adult's advice while they smiled at one another.

"It's a win win." James added before hugging himself even tighter and looking down at his feet, the cold getting to him.

Misty shuffled closer to her best friend and was about to add something herself when the doors suddenly opened again and out came Jayden. His specially straightened hair had fallen out of its style with worry and his expression was filled with concern.

"I'm really sorry for kissing you, Katie, really I am. Let's just pretend it never hap-"

Jayden's sentence was cut off by the orange haired teenager rushing towards him and pressing an innocent kiss to his lips. When she pulled away, she smiled and that made him smile too.

I watched those two possible lovebirds join hands and head back to the dance floor together before I turned to look at the other two best friends.

James let out a sigh and shuffled towards Misty, his eyes wide with a look I hadn't quite seen before.

"You didn't have to be so horrified by the idea of kissing me." He pouted before smirking and pretending to flick her nose. "I'm your best friend; you should know it would be an honour."

Misty just rolled her eyes fondly at him and wrapped her arms around his neck from behind, indicating that she wanted him to give her a piggyback. When James did so, she spoke.

"You know us two would have never worked out." She uttered, earning quite the confused and surprised look from James. She smirked upon seeing his reaction and continued. "You don't look anywhere near enough like my Ashton."

The lavender haired male rolled his eyes and pretended to gag before holding onto her legs while she positioned herself comfortably on his back.

"You keep telling yourself darling." He smirked, reaching to poke the side of her cheek before smiling happily at her. "We're lucky to have each other and be with the people we're meant to be with. All is right in the universe for once."

I couldn't help but have a moment of reflection when Misty nodded in agreement before those two began to muck around as they went back into the celebration hall. They had definitely had quite the complicated relationship in their time but it was amazing to see they had become the close best friends they were. They were inseparable, in fact.

Katie and Jayden were both so similar to their parents and I believe the reason Ash was so unsure of their relationship was because it was like James and Misty getting together, except the next generation. James and Misty didn't get together but stayed the greatest best friends. Jayden and Katie did get together. They became a couple while still having their friendship qualities mixed into the romance. And one day, I'll be happy to share their tales with you all too.

The End.

There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I've wrote quite a few stories about Katie and Jayden crushing on one and other but never really as a couple so maybe I'll give that a shot in the future. I enjoy sometimes switching up who the chapters focus on :P Thanks again and I'll be back next Wednesday :3
