Hello :P It is Wednesday and as usual, I am back. I'm sure you noticed a few days ago was Valentine's Day so I have selected one of my more simple and soppy chapters to upload. I actually wrote this a while ago and for AAML-TAML as a present for coming over to England to hang out but ending up writing and uploading a different one :3 I hope you all enjoy but especially you boo because it's fluffy PokeShipping :'3
Ages:
Ash: 16
Misty: 16
Disclaimer: I own only the story :3
"That was a good date, Ash." smiled Misty as we all walked through the streets of Cerulean City and towards the red heads house. "I'm sure the girl will have lots of fun."
Although Misty's words were sweet, I could sense sadness and disappointment in her normally cheerful voice. I wondered if Ash could sense his hidden feelings but looking at him ignore her words and continue to point out people's pokemon, I gathered not.
The three of us then walked wordlessly down the path to the familiar building with the giant Dewgong on the front. The silence was neither one of awkwardness nor one because we had run out of things to say but was more of a peaceful quiet between good friends.
Suddenly, however, Misty stopped in the middle of the path and turned to look at her raven haired best friend. Her pretty face was laced with a frown creasing her forehead.
"I've been referring to your date as 'this girl' the entire night and you haven't even bothered to tell me her name."
I was confused when Ash glanced at me before looking down at his feet. His reply was simple.
"That's because you didn't ask for her name."
Misty let out a sigh and pulled a face that showed he was in fact correct but she hated to admit he was right and she was mistaken.
"Well now I'm asking." She brushed the bangs out of her eyes to reveal orbs with deep down pain inside of them. "Ash, who is the girl you are taking out on a date?"
It pained me to see her this way. I knew how fond she was of Ash and although she had never told me of them, I knew of her secret feelings for her best friend. I always assumed they would end up together so seeing Ash speaking of taking another girl out caused me upset. I didn't dare imagine how it felt for Misty.
Once again, Ash dodged the question and looked at his watch before looking at me with his wide chocolate eyes of his.
"Pikachu, would you mind leaving us two alone so we can practice the walk home together? I know you've been here for the rest of the trials but I think this one should be just the two of us."
In case the situation is unclear to you, I'll explain what has been going on. Ash came to Misty and me after saying he was going on a date with a mystery girl. We did not know her identity or even her name but we knew we had to help our friend. We had taken him on a fake date to practice the greeting, small talk and how to act on the real one. When he decided to tell us when his date was, all that he said was that it was soon.
Misty frowned in confusion at Ash's words but shrugged and looked at me.
"It looks like Ash wants it to be just us two." I noticed her fight a blush and courageously continue with her words. "Do you mind?"
I shook my head and ran off to seek refuge on a little patch of grass outside the gym for a few moments. Watching Ash take Misty's hand for practice, I sighed to myself. They really belonged together.
Ash and Misty walked hand in hand up towards the door of the gym before stopping outside it, their hands still linked. I was too far away to tell but I just knew that the two of them had delicate blushes streaking across their noses. My hearing was just about good enough to hear what they were saying.
"Um, Ash…" Misty looked down at her feet before taking a deep breath and looking up at her best friend. "Seeing as we're here, maybe we should practice the kiss goodnight?"
Upon hearing these words, Ash's blush became even harsher but I knew Misty thought it made him even more handsome."
"O-Okay…" Ash stuttered as he shyly leaned in to kiss her cheek before almost bumping his nose against hers.
Misty's own blushed deepened but she giggled fondly, squeezing his hand.
"Don't be shy, Ash."
When he heard these comforting words, Ash nodded and leaned forward. He carefully and unsurely pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. When he pulled away, they both found themselves smiling at each other. Soon enough their eyes found one and other's. After that, their lips found one and others. They shared a kiss at Misty's doorstep.
When they pulled away, Misty's face was red and her aquamarine orbs were shaking slightly with hope.
"A-Ash… Your date."
This was all she managed to mumble out before Ash laughed sheepishly and held her face in his hands. Misty frowned at this but she didn't shrug his hands away. Once again, she repeated the same words.
"Your date-"
"Is non existant." Ash cut her off by blurting out.
When Misty's eyes grew wide, Ash's cheeks grew redder and he found himself having to explain the situation.
He stuttered and stumbled on his words for a few minutes before finally decided what to say.
"I'm not good with words." He admitted, brushing the hair out of her eyes and looking at her with strange longing and passion in his eyes. "I just pretended to have a girl so you'd take me on a pretend date and you'd either fall for me or I'd end up getting to kiss you. I'm sorry for lying."
I glanced at Misty but I could see that she was not angry. Instead her eyes were filled with slight tears and a whole lot of love.
"A-Ash…"
He cut her off by pressing his finger to her lips and looking at her with intense brown eyes.
"I'm sorry. I just wanted you to know how I felt about you."
Without hesitation, Misty removed his hand from her lips and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Now I do."
These were the only other words spoken before the two of them engaged in their second ever kiss.
At that moment, I didn't know if they were still two best friends or had become boyfriend and girlfriend. It didn't matter what their label was. All I knew was that their hearts had finally been allowed to find one and other and those precious words had been spoken.
The End.
There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 Yeah I definitely enjoyed writing this one because it reminded me very much of the fluff I used to write when I first joined FanFiction. Sometimes it's fun to take it back to how I started and Ash and Misty are adorable to write T.T This is also sort of an alternate version of how they got together because mostly I write it that Misty went to Kalos and they got together there. But I love writing different ways that pairings express their love :3 Thanks again and see you next Wednesday!
