Hello :P It is Wednesday so I am back with a new update. This one is quite sweet actually and similar to the stuff I used to write for Pikachu Tales. It focuses on Benjamin and Jessika Ketchum and their bond. It's also a bit of an insight into Ben's character and what he's like as a young boy. I hope you enjoy!

Ages:

Misty:

Ben: 8

Katie: 8

James K: 15 months

Jessika K: 4 months

Disclaimer: I own the offspring of Ash and Misty :3 Also, apologies if I accidentally call Jessika "Elisha" sometimes. Me and AAML-TAML's fankids are pretty much the same aside from a few small details and her version of Ash and Misty's fourth child is called Elisha. When we're talking, I refer to her as Elisha but in my stories it's Jessika. They're the same really and I think I corrected them all so that's why if you suddenly see a different name :P

It was a typical weekday in the Ketchum household and those normal moments I truly enjoyed best. Ben was watching yet another TV battle appearance of his father and his fists were clenched at the sight of his hero and his eyes glittering with wonder. Misty was sat next to her son and beaming lovingly between the little Ash beside her and her husband Ash on the screen. Katie was in the other room entertaining little James while her twin brother and mother had a moment together. I couldn't be more content as I curled up in the sunshine on the window sill, enjoying the warmth from the weather and the glowing people around me.

Suddenly little James let out quite a high pitched whine which was soon followed by a groan and a growl and words from Katie.

"Moooom!" she called out before sighing and tapping on the adjoining wall to get the older orange haired female's attention. "James has got one of Uncle James' necklaces in his hand and won't let it goooo!"

Misty glanced at me before shaking her head fondly and sighing, taking the remote off Ben to pause the TV screen. He gave her quite the displeased look as his hero's commands got cut short in the middle of his sentence but Misty just smile reassuringly at him.

"I'll be back soon, little wannabe Ash…" she smiled lovingly, stroking his cheek before standing up to make her way out of the room. Before she left, she glanced at her eldest son before at little Jessika on the floor on her play mat. "Can you keep an eye on her for me? I have a feeling Katie isn't going to take kindly to little James' actions."

Ben soon stopped pouting at his TV time being cut short briefly and beamed up at his mother, nodding.

"Sure, mom. I can do that."

Misty gave her son a thumbs up to which he returned before exiting the room. I couldn't help but beam at Ben's little proud and excited face. He was like his father in so many ways and enjoyed helping people out so matter what they asked him to do.

Ben continued beaming and hopped off the sofa, making his way to stand over his little sister as she kicked her legs on the floor. He bent down to talk to her, taking the rattle she was sucking away from her mouth.

"Hi Jessika. I'm watching over you until mommy finishes sorting Katie and James out."

I didn't know if it was the removing of her toy or noticing her mother had left the room and neither did Ben but Jessika's happy little face screwed up and she began to whimper.

Ben grew deeply concerned at this and his brow furrowed, trying to quickly think of something to stop her before she burst into full blown tears.

"Don't cry, little sis…" he bit his lip before looking up at me, his eyes begging me for help. I could think of many ways to stop her crying but Misty had asked Ben to mind her and I knew he was more than capable of stopping her. I gave him warm eyes and a sincere smile. You got this buddy.

Ben took a deep breath and nodded before smiling back at me. Soon enough his eyes went back to the still whimpering Jessika and he stood up.

"I don't think you can be unhappy when you're dancing…" he muttered to himself before glancing around the room. When he saw no one was around, his eyes lit up and he began doing clumsy little dance moves around the room.

Jessika made a curious gurgle and she didn't smile yet but she tilted her head in wonder as she watched her brother. He beamed when she stopped whimpering and began to do little dances with his hands.

"I call this the swirly whirly." He announced before doing the hand gesture closer to her face and in a slower motion in the hope that she could pick it up and copy him. "I might do it after I win a battle like daddy…"

And just like that, Ben's head was in the clouds and he was dreaming about Pokémon and a stadium and roaring crowds applauding his marvellous win. Jessika could see her brother was no longer focusing on her and let out a displeased squeak that bought him back to reality.

He smiled sheepishly down at her and apologised before picking up her nearby blanket and holding it between his small hands.

"I'm sorry, little Jessika. Did I stop showing you attention?"

Jessika kicked her legs and her head bobbed slightly and Ben beamed, taking this that she'd nodded yes to his question.

"Sorry, sis. I might have to go away sometimes…" he mumbled to them both, holding the yellow blanket up to hide his face from the baby. Jessika let out another squeak seeing her brother disappeared. Suddenly Ben dropped the blanked and gave her a loving smile, tickling her belly.

"But I'll always come back, that's a promise."

Jessika beamed her bright aquamarine orbs up at her brother and she let out hearty giggles at the tickly contact. This caused Ben to beam more himself and tickle her under the chin.

"I'll always come back, yes I will…" he told her before planting loving kisses all over her face.

My own face was filled with love as I watched Benjamin interact with little Jessika. He was a child of eight years old and she was a baby of just four months. But when you have a bond, age doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is the love. And I was so in love with both these wonderful beings.

Jessika's tiny hand reached out and grabbed hold of her rattle again and she began swinging it near her brother's head. Ben leaned back from kissing her face to look into her eyes and to avoid being bonked on the bonce.

He smiled down at her, doing up one of the poppers on her onesie that had come loose in her excitement.

"Do you like that rattle, Jessika?" he asked, his fingers making their way and running through her thick and wild raven locks.

She gurgled a yes before moving it to hold it against his mouth. He beamed at the sweet gesture and they both held it together.

"Is this for me? I had better do what you do then." He hesitated and blushed slightly but soon began to suckle on it like she normally does. This seemed to amuse the aquamarine orbed baby and she let out a shriek, causing Ben to do it more. He shut his eyes in contentment and beamed, continues to nip at it with his lips like his little sister would do.

I swore blind she saw her brother's eyes were shut and her eyes glinted mischievously. Suddenly she rammed the rattle into his mouth, causing him to pull away after letting out quite the horrified gag. That noise would have definitely upset little James at her age but not Jessika, oh no. She took one look at her brother's betrayed face and giggled heartily, her nose wrinkling and eyes squeezing tight shut.

Ben shuddered quickly before soon laughing at her reaction. He took the rattle in his own hand, looking at it covered in slobber.

"Well if it makes you laugh…" he mumbled, pretending to play it as a trumpet to make her laugh before ramming it into his mouth, causing him to gag and drop the rattle. Jessika burst into more fits of giggles while Misty rushed in from the other room, putting her hands on his shoulders worriedly.

"Benjamin, are you okay?"

He turned around and nodded at his mother, beaming most happily.

"Yes, mommy. It made Jessika laugh when I almost choked on it so I did it again." He continued beaming before gesturing to his mother what exactly he was doing and showing just how hilarious Jessika thought it was.

Misty raised a worried eyebrow and leaned against the sofa, playing with her front bangs.

"Well it does seem to make her happy but make sure you're careful and don't hurt yourself, mister."

Ben turned back to his mother and gave her a reassuring smile while waving the rattle in front of his little sister's face.

"I'll try. But it's okay. Anything to make my best little sister happy."

Misty was chewing her lip in concern but she soon melted and held a hand over her heart seeing Ben smile down at Jessika with eyes full of love and she was showing the same look of adoration up at him.

"She really loves you, Ben…" she breathed out, desperately trying to blink back her emotional and motherly tears.

The raven haired little boy's head snapped at this and he turned around, his mouth falling slightly open with shock and brown orbs wide with hope.

"Really? You really think she does?" he asked, turning back to Jessika and smiling lovingly before Misty could even answer his questions. "Well, I hope so. I sure love her. Very very very much."

Before Misty could say anything more, he picked up the little girl carefully into his arms and pressing kisses all over her face.

"Yes, I love you very very very much." He giggled when she did, pressing a kiss for each 'very' that came out of his lips. He sighed contentedly, holding the little girl close to him. "We're going to have so much fun together. Forever and ever."

Misty glanced at me and I glanced at her but we didn't say anything. The look in our eyes was enough and I knew we were thinking of the same thing.

It was a completely magical thing witnessing Ben look at Jessika with such adoration and it was even more heart-warming to see she was so young but giving him the same exact look back. I knew it before from past encounters but glancing at those two in that moment I was reassured that having a brother truly is a wonderful thing.

They can make you laugh, they can make you cry. They can make you happy, they can make you crazy. You can think you hate them one minute but realise you adore them the next. They say fathers are a girl's first hero but I really believe brothers are too. They are also your first hero. Your first love. Your first best friend. Your first teacher. And your first protector. Most importantly, they are your first jester. And they will make you laugh for as long as you both live.

The End.

There you go! Thanks a lot for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I think I like this chapter because it's been a while since I solidly focused on just the little ones and it was fun to switch up. I also got the inspiration for this after going through my phone and finding a bunch of videos of my big brother messing about with me. The last two paragraphs definitely sum up how I feel about him. He is like my jester and has been since we were little. There's actually a home video of him at about 3 and me a few months old laughing at him because he did what Ben did with a rattle but it was a harmonica :P Thanks again and I'll be back next week so see you then!
