Hello :P It is Wednesday and I am back for the next chapter in the month where all of the updates are about Ash and Misty. Last week I mentioned that the theme for this is "Sleeping Together" so here it is. It is very much innocent and hopefully sweet, contrary to how the theme title seems :P I hope you enjoy!

I watched as my best friend sighed happily and turned towards his girlfriend as we all had come to the end of our long walk and arrived in front of the Pokémon Centre. After letting out his content noise, Ash turned to give Misty a smile, his mouth curved and his eyes, although shut, were beaming with happiness.

"It sure feels good to finally be sleeping in a proper bed tonight rather than on a sleeping bag. I love both but it's been a while since we've had a roof over our heads."

Misty just nodded and gave her boyfriend a smile, a little out of breath from the long walk but also content in listening to Ash's voice, rather than feeling the need to say anything herself. When she remained silent, Ash's cheeks blushed slightly and he gave her a goofy smile before linking his gloved hand to hers.

"And it feels even better that I got to share that walk with just you and Pikachu. It was nice of everyone else to walk on ahead and give us some space."

Before Misty could squeeze her boyfriend's hand back and say some grateful words in agreement, Ash's arms went behind his head and he let out another contented sigh. His actions caused Misty's face to fall gently and this soon caused the raven haired teenager to blink worriedly at her.

"Huh, are you okay? What's wrong, Mist?"

I watched as Misty opened her mouth before hesitating slightly, glancing at the ground below her side while deciding what to do. I glanced at my best friend and he glanced back at me, completely clueless. I turned my glance back to Misty and gave her a small, kind smile. I knew what it was.

Now that they were dating, she very much enjoyed the feeling of contact and closeness with her former best friend and now boyfriend. Ash enjoyed it just as much but although he was getting a lot better, he was still dense. Sometimes he just didn't realise that she'd be wanting to hold his hand. When he found out, he was more than happy. He just needed help seeing the signs.

Misty looked a little embarrassed about asking to hold his hand again so I decided to help her out. I loved her just as dearly as Ash and I could tell she wanted to feel his warmth but didn't want to come across as clingy. I knew Ash would never hold anything against her.

I smiled even more so at the red headed female before nudging Ash's neck to get his attention. When he looked at me with his brown orbs, I turned my gaze down to both their hands.

Ash had grown up quite a lot since the age of ten. He only needed me to gesture and instantly, he figured out himself what to do.

"Ohhhh…" he smiled and nodded, taking hold of Misty's hand in his warm and gloved one. Before looking at his girlfriend and speaking to her, he pressed a kiss to the top of her hand. "I want to hold hands too, Mist."

Misty breathed out a sigh of relief and was quick to get over her previous feelings and squeezed his hand back. After she nodded her head once happily and so did Ash, he swung their arms playfully.

"Let's head in." he leaned forward to press a clumsy kiss to her cheek before leading her into the Pokémon Centre, still swinging their arms.

The Pokémon Centre was surprisingly quiet so it was easy to make our way over to the front desk. When my best friend spotted the Nurse Joy, he beamed at her and waved at her, almost as if he knew her. Well, I suppose he did in a way. We all did. They all looked practically the same.

Ash continued holding Misty's hand and swinging it in small motions as he spoke to the Nurse.

"Hi Nurse Joy." He gave her an innocent smile before turning towards the door that was labelled "dormitories". He turned on his heels and gave his girlfriend a light tug as he did so. "My friends dropped my Pokémon off earlier to rest but Pikachu's gonna say with us. We're just going to head to our room now."

After the light pink haired female nodded and smiled, giving us all a thumbs up, Ash began walking further in the direction of the door. Misty was quick to raise a fond eyebrow at him and tug him back, stepping with him back over to the desk.

"Not so fast, Ashy. We haven't even asked Nurse Joy what room number everybody else is staying in."

Once Misty let out a fond giggle and I did too, Ash's curious expression soon changed to a mildly smug one but also that of the joy of getting to treat his girl.

"No need for that." He smiled mysteriously and leaned forward to press a kiss to her nose. He let her tilt her head on one side and look at him with intrigue before letting out a goofy smile and explaining everything.

"I phoned up and booked a room just for us in advance when you were off chasing that water Pokémon you thought you saw."

As Misty's cheeks flushed slightly pink and her expression softened with love for her former best friend, Ash continued smiling and accepted their room key off Nurse Joy.

The orange haired female didn't need to thank her boyfriend with words. Her eyes sparkled as she threw her arms around his neck and pressed a kiss to his cheek. After the adorable gesture, we all headed along the hall to find out room, Misty nuzzling happy into Ash's side.

I watched her press innocent kisses to her neck as my best friend put the key in the door and unlocked it but didn't open it just yet. I was beyond proud of those two. Not only were they achieving their own dreams but they were making one and other's dreams a reality by merging their hearts as one.

Misty was too busy nuzzling into his neck with love and I was too busy beaming at them both lovingly to notice Ash had gone quiet and somewhat shy. He fumbled in the door and waited for Misty to push it open. After pulling away and glancing at him, she finally saw his hesitant expression.

The teenage girl raised an eyebrow at the teenage boy and she touched his arm lightly.

"Are you okay, Ash?" she asked before furrowing her brow and wondering what was wrong when he didn't answer. She glanced at me and I shrugged, gesturing to my own belly. Misty let out a quiet noise and nodded before rubbing his arm more. "Oh, are you hungry? We came straight up here without getting a snack before bed, didn't we?"

Ash's cheeks flushed slightly at one of her words but he soon gave her a small smile, his hand reaching to rub the back of his neck.

"No, Mist, I'm fine. Actually I'm not that hungry. I was just wondering if all the rooms in this place are identical."

I raised an eyebrow at this and didn't believe him. Misty had the same expression as me but she didn't have time to say anything as Ash shrugged and smiled, pushing open the door and heading inside.

He didn't say anything and just glanced around, waiting for his girlfriend to enter and do the same. We both watched as she entered and put her backpack down on the floor. She glanced around much like her boyfriend but she smiled as she did so. Ash on the other hand, looked like he was sweating slightly as he looked around the room.

I raised an eyebrow at my best friend but soon shrugged, jumping onto the bed and padding around happily. I didn't know it but with that action I was assisting Ash with his plan.

He glanced at the bed before furrowing his brow, biting his lip somewhat and glancing at Misty.

"Is this room okay for you, Mist?" he asked his girlfriend before tacking his backpack off his back, putting it on the double bed next to me and hoping she was going to take a hint.

Misty came back from inspecting the bathroom and blinked at Ash, running a hand through her hair.

"Of course it's okay for me, it's as lovely as always. Aren't you happy with it?"

It sounds harsh but it's the truth when I say that the orange haired female was the smartest of the pair. But for once, she didn't even notice Ash's wide eyes as he glanced between her and the double bed, making it very obvious. After Misty raised her eyebrow even more, Ash let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck, his tanned cheeks getting rosier.

"It's a double bed, Mist. We've never shared a bed before." He mumbled somewhat shyly, glancing at her and not noticing I had stopped padding about the bed in realisation.

Misty's mouth hung open slightly in her own realisation before she smiled at Ash. She took her hair out of her ponytail and combed her fingers through her loose locks as she spoke to her boyfriend. She blushed shyly as she said what she was about to say.

"We've shared a sleeping bag lots of times though, Ashy."

My best friend breathed out and relaxed as he heard her soothing voice and her calling him by his nickname, his hand moving from his neck to his side. It soon went back and he blushed again as he spoke goofily.

"I know we have. But this is a bed. And I wanted to make sure that you were comfortable and happy with it before getting in with me. I don't want to push you into something you're not ready for."

Misty smiled lovingly at her boyfriend's gentle consideration before her pale cheeks flushed a deep pink. As she spoke to Ash, she looked more in love with him than I had ever seen before. And that was saying something.

"I am ready, Ashy. While I was back in Kanto and you were here in Kalos, I dreamed so many times that you would be holding me close to you one day." She smiled at him before looking down at her shoes, her hands still playing with her hair.

After Ash stood a few steps forward and beamed at his girlfriend, he reached for both of her hands and squeezed them. Misty looked up and smiled back at him as she continued blushing, squeezing his hands back.

"This is something I want to do. But only if you want to as well."

My raven haired best friend didn't need to answer with words as he just nodded and smiled at her, his fingers entwined with her. As they played with each other's digits, Misty looked at Ash somewhat shyly but at the same time with complete trust.

"We're just sharing a bed, right? You weren't… You weren't thinking that something else might end up happening, were you?"

Misty bit her lip slightly upon hearing this and she glanced at me. I knew her worry was from her words rather than me being in the room to hear this intimate conversation. Her worry prolonged as Ash blinked and continued looking at her, not understanding what she meant.

Normally I would have sighed loudly at my best friend but like I said, it was a personal conversation. Instead I just glanced right into my best friend, saying the words in my head and hoping my eyes would convey them to him.

It took longer than the last time to understand my hints but after a few moments Ash breathed out in realisation. He saw Misty's shy expression and was quick to put it at ease, smiling gently at her and reaching out to stroke her face. He shook his head at her.

"We'll just be sharing a bed. That's enough for me. It's more than enough for me. It's what I would love to do with you."

Misty was quick to be reassured and she breathed out quietly before smiling back at him, happily accepting the gentle kiss to her nose. After a quick snack despite Ash's prior empty stomach denial, a catch up with the others in their room, getting into pyjamas and brushing teeth, we were all tucked up in the same bed together.

Well, Ash and Misty were cuddled up together under the covers and I was on top of the duvet near their feet. But I considered it that we were all together, even if it was our contentment touching one and other and not our skin.

I glanced happily and sleepily at Misty on her side and on the right side of the bed and with my best friend on his side and cuddled up behind her. His arms were wrapped around her from behind with one of them holding her securely and his other hand linked to hers. She was stroking his fingers gently.

I shut my eyes and was about to head off to dreamland when I was aware of Ash moving even closer to his girlfriend and he leaned to murmur something in her ear.

"Can I tell you something?" he asked her, resting his chin on her shoulder and nuzzling his nose into her neck after speaking to her.

Misty smiled happily and nodded, moving further back to feel even closer to her boyfriend as she felt his nose on her skin.

"Of course you can, Ashy. Talk to me."

I heard Ash breathe out quietly and I knew he was blushing when his toes wriggled under the covers near to where I was sleeping. I opened my eye to see Misty noticing another bout of shyness and she continued stroking his fingers but she was slowing down with curiosity.

I blinked with my own bout of intrigue when I heard him giggle shyly and nuzzle further into her neck. Misty couldn't help but smirk at this and she knew it was going to be light-hearted. She turned around to face him, reaching out to stroke his face.

After a few strokes, Ash blushed and bit his lip, his hand breaking away from hers to rub the back of his neck.

"I actually planned all along for this to happen." He admitted, his hand running through his hair before finding its way to the back of his neck once again.

After Misty furrowed her brow upon hearing this, Ash let out another sheepish giggle and looked at his girlfriend, hoping to be able to keep her close to him for the rest of the night.

"I phoned Nurse Joy and asked for a double bed but then acted surprised when we came in here. I wanted this to happen all along."

Misty narrowed her eyes briefly for a moment and thought about his words. When she saw his big, round and innocent orbs and sheepish smile, she saw that his trickery was innocent like his gaze and far from being malicious. She soon smirked at him and pretended to flick his nose before resting her cheek on his shoulder, her hand stroking his chest lightly.

"And why on earth would you want that to happen, Ketchum?" she asked playfully, glancing at him with contented orbs as her fingers continued stroking the material of his night shirt.

Ash didn't reply with words at first and he just sighed happily, stretching his legs back out under the covers. After that he wrapped his arms further around his girlfriend and pulled her close to his chest. He leaned to whisper in her ear and while he replied with words, he nuzzled against her.

"I just knew I couldn't wait until we were in Pallet Town to finally hold you in my arms."

There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 So yeah, this is the first time that Ash and Misty share a proper double bed together. Of course we all know and have seen how in the anime how they've napped on each other before and slept next to one and other but here shows that first step as a couple. It was fun writing Ash and Misty as a young couple. Like I've mentioned before, in my fics Ash and Misty become a long distance couple while he's in Kalos so that's when this is set :3 Thanks again and I will be back next Wednesday.
