Hello :P It is Wednesday and I am back with a new chapter. I think this is one of my longest ones ever written and I was worried it'd be too long but reading back, I don't think it's too bad. This introduces a whole new OC that Shannon and I created over summer. His name is Jesse. And I'll let him be introduced in the story and I'll explain more after. So I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own Jesse with AAML-TAML :3

I tried to fight it, but after a long day frolicking in the grass with all the recuperating Pokémon in James' Nanny and Pop Pop's house, I found myself falling asleep in the arm chair with the moustached male. I tried to fight it.

As Noah snored gently, I tried to jerk my body awake. But I failed. My body was determined to sleep. My bones were determined to rest. My brain was determined to see a vision. And it was one that was phenomenal to see.

The bird's eye view right away was fantastic. I was high in the sky and seemingly looking down. It was raining. But I was so high above the scene that I could only see it. There were no rain drops falling on me. I was possibly above the clouds themselves.

Before I could see any young versions of anyone, I knew I had transported vastly in time. I could hear old rockabilly music blasting out of the speakers on the side of the road. I couldn't recognise any faces right away but as strangers crossed the roads and dashed across the street, the fashion was far different than I had known from my era.

Thunder clapped all around me, causing everybody to dash into different buildings in the dark and rainy late evening. Some hid under the porch of a hair salon. Some darted into a very 60's looking restaurant. Some even stayed out in it.

As soon as the lightning struck below me, something else caught my eye. Yet another flash of light. But not a streak like the previous one. This was the dull glow of a round head lamp belonging to a motorbike. My eyes zoomed in as the low hum of the vehicle became even more apparent.

My eyes had been zooming in and then they focused heavily. It didn't take more than a second for me to recognise the young pair on the motorbike together as they turned round a corner to park outside the convenience store.

It was the male who was riding the red classic motorbike and his lavender hair was as prominent as his grandson two generations down. His hair was styled differently than his, however. It still possessed loose strands but it was slicked back. Appropriate for the era.

He was wearing a jacket and the young lady behind him had her arms wrapped around his body tightly. She was wincing gently from the rain and although not verbally complaining, her face was scrunched up in a way that showed her cheekbones and dimples. She too possessed hair that made you stare. She was in a sweet little dress hitched up to not get caught in the wheels and she too, like her young husband, was clad in a leather jacket. They were a sight to behold. Josie and Noah in their teens were a sight to behold.

Young Noah bought his motorbike to a stop when he reached the parking area and hopped off it, stepping right off and putting it up on its stand. He was a gentleman. I knew him as that. I assumed he was when he was younger too, despite the greaser getup. Josie's reaction made it apparent to me that he was normally a gentleman. But that night, he didn't assist her off.

She shook her head airily at him so her delicate curls shook and the rain bounced off her ginger locks. She let out a quiet sigh but didn't tell him off.

"You really are in a little mood tonight aren't you, Noah?" she studied her husband with those delightful blue eyes of hers that sparkled the same way as when she was an old lady. "I know you didn't feel like going for a meal out tonight, that's why we're picking stuff up at the store and picnicking at home."

Noah gave his young wife a brief glance as he wiped the rain from his cheeks, can't helping but mutter to her.

"It's not home though, is it? It's not the same…" he mumbled quietly, causing Josie to soften even further and rest her hand on his arm. I didn't know it but his father had just passed on and it was an understatement that he was having a hard time. When he felt her warmth on his sleeve, he tried to perk up for her. But he remained truthful. "I just feel like I've let you down."

"You haven't." she responded quickly and truthfully back, reaching out to wipe the rain that was dripping down his cheek like a tear with her thumb. After wiping it away from her own skin, she smiled at him. "I still have to start my shift at the bar at ten but there's still plenty of time to get food and eat it at yours. Or wherever you want."

Noah just nodded upon hearing her words but you could tell he wasn't really listening as he stood under the drizzling rain. I had only been observing him for the first time for only a few moments but I could already see so much of James in him. Aside from the family resemblance being uncanny, he was like him in personality too. Thoughtful. Sweet. Gentlemanly. Real chips off the Morgan block, those two were.

Josie let out another quiet breath at her sweetheart's distance but she knew him better than anyone. She didn't scold him. She touched his cheek lightly but briefly to not make it cold from rain.

"Let's hurry, Noah." She said simply before giving him a playful smile and tilting her head on one side. "You're being a bad boy tonight and keeping your lady waiting and in the rain."

I assumed this would have normally caused him to perk up and grin at her but that night, he didn't. He let out a thoughtful sigh but he leaned to kiss her cheek, gently pushing her down to sit on his bike again. She looked at him with confused orbs but he quickly answered.

"I really feel like you should be waiting out here tonight, sugar." He mumbled, still in that southern accent that I still knew him to have. Josie continued blinking so he offered her a smile just for her take. "Trust in me, doll."

And with that, he rushed into the convenience with his wallet and didn't look back, leaving his young wife on the bike in the rain.

I felt sorry for her, I really did. I knew Noah was the type to really take care of his lady. He definitely must have done in the early days if he still did decades later on in their marriage. But Josie knew he was going through some stuff. And she trusted him. She stayed waiting outside patiently. But she did wish he had left his jacket with her too so she could keep warm and hold one above her head to be dry.

My view suddenly changed and I followed Noah into the store. The activities didn't really intrigue me much for a few minutes apart from the initial curiosity of inside a 60s store. The lavender haired young man stayed quiet and to himself as he picked up the essentials for a night in. Spaghetti. Canned tomatoes. Soup. And then a few naughty bits for after or perhaps to say sorry for the mood. Chips. Soda. Ice cream. Cookies. I wondered how they were to keep hold of it on the motorbike but that was the least of Noah's worries.

It didn't surprise me in the slightest when he stopped as he went past the bucket of flowers as he passed that aisle. It must have been where James got it from. He reached for the last single rose and added that to his pile before making his way to the front of the store to pay. He tried to balance it all in his arms while reaching for his wallet in his pocket. Somehow he succeeded and in the midst of it, he glanced at his police badge as well. He couldn't help but smile.

Followed in his father's footsteps, he had. A strong man. In every single way. Some uttered that he might be glad to be without him but he wasn't. That was his dad. And his baby son with Josie was to grow up without a grandfather.

Noah stroked the badge softly with his thumb as he waited in line. He was such a soft and thoughtful male like his grandson but at the same time, even then I couldn't imagine him as anything else other than a police officer. He wanted to protect. He wanted order. He wanted justice. It had taken hard effort to train because of his young age but he got there. He was newly graduated. And he waited for the day to make his first arrest to make his father proud.

He carefully but swiftly put the badge back in his pocket when he was called to pay and he gave off a sheepish smile as he struggled to balance all of his things and almost dropped them everywhere. Luckily the worker was early on their shift and smiled back and simply helped the fumbling male. They exchanged pleasantries and small talk and I assumed Noah was glad that they didn't know he was a policeman. Otherwise it would be the usual jokes about donuts.

But as soon as the worker opened the till after Noah gladly handed over the money, the scene dramatically changed. Seemingly out of nowhere, this strawberry blonde long haired male marched over to them and grabbed hold of Noah's arm. I heard a click before I even saw it. He had a gun in his hand and he held it up when the shop worker let out a squeak of surprise.

The unknown male's cheeks were pale and I couldn't help but wonder if it was nerves. I couldn't tell. He coolly muttered to them both while gripping Noah's arm and pointing the gun at the shop keeper.

"Give me all your money in the till and nobody gets hurt." He stated, not even looking at Noah's face and gripping onto his arm to keep him still. The lavender haired male swallowed. It wasn't mutual. He was staring right at him, memorising his face. But he did it in short glances. He knew better than to be caught staring.

The nervous shopkeeper didn't act right away and her mouth just hung open so the male had to let go of Noah's arm to whack his hand on the desk before gripping him again. The secret police officer inwardly cursed himself for not taking action in that split second he was free.

As soon as the loud whack of his large hand on the counter was made, the girl let out another squeak and began to shakily try and take out all of the money from the till. Noah breathed out uneasily, still giving him sly glances.

At one of the glances, the thieving male looked over at him and they almost made eye contact but they didn't quite. But he knew he was watching. He moved the gun from pointing at the girl and casually moved it next to Noah's head.

"Forget my face." He muttered and as his hand shook lightly as he held onto the killing weapon, I had the opportunity to study him from above.

It made me sad. He looked so young. Perhaps older than Noah but definitely not much. And he was handsome. He could have had more in his life but he was obviously a thief. He looked rugged. He looked tough. But he looked so very young. His strawberry blonde hair was greasy and down to his shoulders. His almost lavender eyes were shaky and not staying in the same place for two moments. Noah in the past noticed this as well.

The long haired male gritted his teeth in annoyance that the girl was fumbling and taking so long so he loaded the gun, holding it nearer to Noah's sweating brow.

"Time is running out for the little blue head here." He muttered and I couldn't help but notice he was beginning to lose his cool. As each second past, there was more of a chance that someone else would enter. Josie could have entered. It was at that moment that I knew that Noah and I were thinking the same thing. Josie could enter. If she walked in and said a word, he could shoot her dead. Noah's top lip sweated. He stuttered out.

"I'm a police officer." He whispered shakily, licking the salty sweat from his philtrum where there was not yet a moustache growing. That must have come later.

The thief almost dropped Noah's arm in heavy denial at his words before gripping him tighter, his lavender eyes only focusing on him for a few moments before watching the girl try to pick up all the notes.

"No you're not." He responded calmly before getting more het up and annoyed that it was taking so long. He needed quick money. He clenched his jaw. "Police officers have to be of graduating age. You're just graduating kindergarten. If that."

That was it. I saw Noah's face change. Like James' thing of petty annoyance was being called a blue head not a lavender, Noah's thing was clearly his youthful appearance being made fun of. His face and neck flushed. He kept composed given his anger but he hissed back.

"Oh I definitely am and I would love to see you behind bars, buddy." He muttered, his eyes meeting the stranger's lavender ones before looking at the girl and willing for her to hurry up and give the money over. He wouldn't risk Josie being shot at for anything. "You'll be locked up within six months."

The male was clearly a rebel type and he showed off his rebel reckless yet rookie streak when he dropped Noah's arm and yelled at him.

"Better than being on the streets!" he roared before regaining his composure almost as quickly as he had lost his temper. I was almost impressed. And Noah was too. Someone who could control their emotions that well was a force to be reckoned with. He clearly had some self-discipline. But he didn't have the best eyes. When he let go to yell, Noah reached into his pocket for his police badge. It was in his hand.

Noah's heart was pounding in his chest when the girl spread the last few coins on the counter ready to hand over. My heart almost leapt out of my chest also when a female's voice could be heard. Of course it was Josie's.

She blinked her big blue eyes and wiped the rain from her nose as she asked confusedly.

"Noah? What is going on here?" she asked with such innocence that I prayed her sweetness would be saved.

It didn't look like it would be. The long haired male spun around on his heel and held his gun up to her. He didn't have the time to mutter any words to her.

Time seemed to slow down for both Noah and myself watching from the future. He imagined him shooting. He imagined her falling back. He imagined losing her. He jumped out of his skin and was afraid to look when he heard a bang. Thankfully it was just the phone book on the counter falling down. That changed something in Noah. He snapped.

He suddenly slapped the gun out of the male's hand and pushed him down onto his front so he couldn't escape. He bound his hands together and although he was off duty, he handcuffed him. He began to read him his rights.

The ginger-yellow haired male gritted his teeth and wiggled as the male who was much shorter than him and much lighter managed to keep him down as he arrested him. Noah gestured for Josie to fetch back up as he lifted the bigger male off the ground to look at him.

The girl sank against the counter with relief and held a hand to her heart while the unnamed male couldn't bear to look at the policeman. I didn't know it but he was scared. He was missing out on an extra day of working to get off the streets if he was locked up. He was getting further away from getting back on his feet. He was feeling hopeless. But he didn't show it.

He scowled as he finally met Noah's authoritative green eyes. They were unmoving but they were studying the thieving male. He gritted his teeth but the policeman just looked at him with gentle eyes, despite everything.

"Thought this is better than being on the street?" he asked with no hint of patronisation, simply repeating the words that the male at said.

He flushed. He tried to wriggle his hands out of the cuff from behind his back as Noah began to walk him down to the station down the road himself when backup arrived for the female shopkeeper.

"Yeah well maybe I was wrong." He muttered with red cheeks, surprising us both as he almost tripped into the station with Noah. You didn't think that criminals would admit to being wrong.

The policeman kept a firm hand on him, determined to deal with him himself as he lead him into a questioning room. He didn't let go of the cuffs. Noah didn't speak, figuring the male would continue talking out of frustration or anxiety. He was right.

"Not sure though. Surely anything must be better than being arrested by the poxy little police officer who looks young enough to be my son." He muttered bitterly as he flopped into the plastic chair with his hands still behind his back. "I bet you love arresting all these homeless kids, don't you? Rich posh white boy."

Noah raised an eyebrow at him and he placed his bottom on the edge of the table. His heart was still hammering for some reason and his breathing was shaking.

"Actually this is my first arrest." He muttered with the same level of truthfulness he had spoken with to Josie in the rain earlier that evening. I couldn't help but assume his first arrest was nothing how he pictured. He decided to focus on his words rather than continue being honest. "So y'all are homeless, is that right?"

The unnamed criminal turned his nose up at the southern accent and lingo but he shrugged, still trying to pick his way out of the cuffs behind his arms. Noah notice and couldn't help but smirk at him. For some reason, he didn't hate his guts.

"Don't bother." He mumbled softly before his own fingers began to run through his hair and unravel the rest of his slicked back hair. "Can I ask your age?"

The strawberry blonde male shrugged from his chair and sighed, his eyes went to his lap. But he answered.

"Eighteen." He mumbled before he swallowed, beginning to show more of a vulnerable side that Noah had been detecting since the beginning. His lavender eyes found themselves meeting Noah's green ones and he couldn't help but ask. "You?"

I knew that Noah was greatly shocked at him asking his age back but he hid it very well. He played with his hair and answered truthfully, causing him to sigh loudly.

"Seventeen." He said with a nod of the head, still playing with his hair.

"Seventeen?" the young man in the cuffs repeated before showing off a sour smirk, shaking his head. "How do you manage to be younger than me and have your whole life all set for you? Must be real nice."

The lavender haired male found himself blushing lightly when he noticed that the other male was picking up his lingo and his accent slightly. But he forced it away. He sighed quietly at his words but uttered with the same truthfulness he always did.

"My life is probably about as unsettled as yours is too." He answered truthfully still, causing him to scoff. But Noah persisted and insisted. "No really, it's true. I met my girl and she gave birth to our son within the year. How's that for unplanned? My daddy was an alcoholic who beat me because he didn't know a better way to raise me. My twin brother balances work and school as well as looking after my son when my girl and I can't. Nobody's life is all sunshine, sunshine."

The man in the cuffs wrinkled his nose at the nickname but he didn't comment. He found himself looking over at Noah. He had been in trouble with the police before but nobody like Noah. That wasn't hard to say. He was a seventeen year old fully fledged cop and a great new one at that. But it went beyond that. He spoke to him like he was a person. Not just a criminal. He found himself talking.

"I'd take all of that over my shit, sunshine." He muttered back to him, not noticing Noah's blush was becoming more apparent. If he looked up, he would've assumed it was shyness. "I found my mom dead not too long ago. I been on the streets ever since. I needed money to eat tonight. It just happened to be you I held a gun to. Do you know what that's like?"

Noah was about to interject that yes he had already had a few guns to his head but he stopped seeing the other male's eyes. They were softening. They were flickering to hide the vulnerability but it was there. He breathed out shakily.

"Do you know what it's like to lose a parent?" he asked doubtfully, expecting Noah to give a phony answer. But this was Noah. He was honest. He stopped playing with his hair. He nodded him and his blush faded to seriousness as he met his eyes.

"Yeah. I know what that's like." He mumbled and cleared his throat quietly before continuing. "I had to bury my own father not too long ago. People say he was crazy but he was my papa. Is my papa. Is. He still is my father."

The male found his lip quirking into a smile upon hearing this but in that moment, it was like he suddenly remembered who he was. He frowned. He went back to picking locks. He looked sour again but like he couldn't quite muster it up like he had before.

"What are we even doing here? I need to know if you're arresting me or what or keeping me in for the night so I can plan after that. Unlike you, I don't exactly have a home to return to."

I saw Noah swallow almost abruptly upon hearing this and he shook his head. I think he almost forgot he was talking to a thief rather than a friend. He sighed and stood up off the table, imagining adjusting his police hat.

"To tell y'all the truth, I was enjoying hearing a little bit about you. It was making it a possibility that I'd let you off a little easier…" he trailed off, realising that he didn't even know the older male's name. He expected to have to ask him for it. He expected that he wasn't listening again since he'd returned to being sour. But his full attention was on him. The homeless male inwardly cursed himself for absentmindedly obliging and giving him his name.

"Jesse." He responded. "Jesse Magnus." He let out a quiet sigh at his compliance and gave his stubbornness a treat by deciding to be smart again. "But I suppose I gotta call you PC something. Or maybe even sir."

Noah found himself smirking at his attitude and his fingers made his way into his pockets, stroking his badge as he spoke.

"Officer Noah Morgan, actually." He said with a non-pompous shrug and his smirk softened to a smile. "But just Noah is fine."

I could have almost sworn I saw his name cross Jesse's lips as if he was checking it out. But I didn't have time to dwell. I quickly realised that he was the infamous Jesse who would later become Noah's best friend. He died before James was born but he made a huge impact on his grandparent's lives. I could see why.

Jesse let out another sigh and didn't ask for permission as he stood up; still trying to pick at the cuffs even though he was told it was pointless. He looked at Noah.

"So why is it that you're keeping me here then, Officer Noah Morgan?" he asked, can't helping but make fun of him by using the name he didn't have to use. Noah sighed but Jesse continued. "Let me guess. You want to be the one to put me behind bars. That's what you said, isn't it?"

"Yeah well maybe I was wrong." He shrugged and uttered in the words that Jesse had used before. The strawberry blonde male found himself flushing at a bit of mocking back but didn't look away as Noah began to uncuff him. He looked at him with soft truth in his eyes. "I want something from you, Jesse. I'm going to let you go. But I want something from you."

Jesse's lavender eyes went wide with shock upon hearing this before coughing gently and regaining his cool. He rolled his eyes.

"You want me to promise that I'll never steal again, right? Well I'm afraid I can't do that. I'm on the streets. You don't know that life as well as you think. Maybe I don't like to steal believe it or not but I have to. Not everybody has a choice like you, Noah. You-"

"Sit down, Jesse." Noah sighed wearily and although he was much smaller than him, he managed to respectfully put him down in the chair. He said in the one opposite him as his eyes found his listening ones again. "I want you to join the police force. I can't promise that you'll like it or you'll get a job and succeed but I can see you doing just that. You might still be on the streets at first but if you work hard, I might even be able to put you up. It's a lot but it's worth it. It's a respectable job and I wouldn't mind you too badly on my side."

Jesse's mouth hung open in utter surprise at all that Noah was saying and mine did too from above. I deeply admired his attitude as he offered a path to the dude who had held a gun to his head. The stunned male tried to regain his composure and act like he'd just been offered a cup of tea but he just couldn't. He stared at him and he pushed his hair from his eyes. His words were somewhat shaky. He only had one question.

"W… Why…?" he asked confusedly at first before causing Noah's own heart rate to pick up secretly as he tilted his head and looked into his eyes. "Why, Noah?"

Noah found himself swallowing a slight lump in his throat. There it was. All of the attitude and the walls he was putting up to protect himself were gone. He knew it from the beginning and he knew now. He wanted to stare at him and smile. But he had to answer. And this was Noah. So he answered truthfully as he didn't look away from his eyes.

"Because I knew something when I looked at you, Jesse. The way you controlled your emotions in that shop is something that the police needs. The right fight but the right softness too. I believe that you have it. Even looking in your eyes now, I know you're a fighter. And I can see you. In a few years' time, if you want it, you won't have to be stealing and living on the street. You could be on the other side of that and helping people who are like you were. You'd understand them. And you'd be brilliant."

Once again, Jesse found it hard to hide his almost touched emotion that he was beginning to get given a second chance. As Noah looked into his eyes, he found himself rambling about giving him his contact details to help him apply and what the position entitled and what it would be like working with it.

Although Jesse was looking right back at him, he wasn't listening. And not because he had grown sour again. He had something else to say. His brow furrowed as if he was trying to hold back his truth but it was bursting out of him. His eyes glanced between the table and Noah.

"I knew something when I looked at you too, Noah." He mumbled in almost a whisper that proved he was the complete opposite and secretly a withdrawn fellow. But he continued for Noah. Or perhaps for an even better shot at a job. "You weren't like the other officers. You didn't look down on me even when I giving you attitude. You acted like I was a person who needed sticking on the right path rather than just another criminal to lock up. So I understand what you mean. I saw something in you too."

For a very rare occasion, Officer Noah Morgan and all his authority and honesty, found himself lost for words. He found his eyes sparkling. And he found his cheeks blushing. But he cleared his throat and just tapped his arm. But he smiled.

"So we both saw something in each other, then?" he clarified with a nod of his head before standing up out of his chair. "I guess you and I have reasons to cross paths again then, don't we?"

For the first time that entire vision, it was like I was seeing Jesse for real when he smiled and looked up at Noah as he stood up. He nodded his head and waggled his fingers as if only now realising they were free. He whole heartedly agreed with his words.

"Yes. Yes we do."

That was all he mumbled back to him but I knew he was longing to say so much more. I thought about everything I had seen that day when I was introduced to Jesse in person years later. He was still stubborn. He was still a smart ass. But I could see he was misunderstood. He never conveyed it with words but the way he looked at Noah, I knew there was more to it than met the eye. About he and Noah together and him separately.

Noah was everything Jesse wanted to be. He was collected. He was respectful. He was admired. He treated everybody the same and he believed in kindness and order and justice. He was everything Jesse was deep inside when he stopped hiding it with all his reckless behaviour and stubbornness and attitude.

Josie and Noah were a force to be reckoned with. But so were Jesse and Noah. And I was delighted to watch the dynamics between them all. I didn't really often understand Jesse, but that was okay. Not everything needed to be understood. Just accepted. And I accepted Jesse for all that he was. And I admired Noah for not trying to change him since the very first day that they met. That was the kind of love and friendship that everybody deserved.

The End.

There you go! Thanks a lot for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 So yeah. That is Jesse. He's possibly one of our most interesting OC's because he's very different to us. He can be obnoxious and stubborn but there is reason for that and depth to him. There's a lot of things to recap. Noah and Josie met when he was 15 and she was 16 because he was in police training and thought she was up to no good and had a chat with her. She wasn't and instead they fell for each other very quickly. And I mean it. They were married within weeks and their first son was conceived on their honeymoon.

Shannon and I headcanon their eldest son to be Victor, the man in the Pokemon OS episode 'Pi Kahuna'. He ended up getting put up for adoption due to not getting along with Charlie, James' father, so that's why nobody knows who he is. That's the baby son mentioned. And Noah's twin brother is Rupert who I hope to introduce soon. Then Noah and Jesse obviously meet here at 17 and 18 and become police partners when Jesse graduates and best friends. He sadly dies before James is born but he comes back as an angel and all he and Noah's antics get told :P I'll probably write about that too. Also, Shannon and I headcanon that Josie was ginger in her younger days and that's why she and Lynne bond initially. Those ginger gals :3 I think that's all except thanks again for reading and I will be back tomorrow with The Diary of Baby Rey. See you then!
