Hello :P It's not Wednesday but I am back with the update I was meant to upload yesterday, today. I wrote yesterday so I wasn't in the frame of mind to upload as well. Having two different stories in my head can be pretty hard. So I'm back to upload this now and I'm really excited about it. For just under a year, I've been wanting to introduce Kiawe into my stories and after developing his character solidly in recent weeks, I was finally ready. I've got big plans for him and his role in the gang but I wanted to start it off pretty simple and true to the anime. Because I write it so Ash stops journeying after Kalos, he obviously doesn't go on a journey in Alola and go to the school like in the anime. But I've watched a bit of that Alola Series and really like it and the characters so of course they will appear in my stories/group. Ever since I first watched it when it came out, I really liked Kiawe right away and after coming up with some ideas for him with Shannon in the last year, I like him even more so. So here he is, battling Brock and ending up meeting someone who will be pretty special to him :P Enjoy!

Ages:

Brock: 56

Kiawe: 55

Jorgie: 19

Ash: 51

Disclaimer: I own only Jorgie in this one :3

The former Pewter City Gym Leader smirked and folded his arms over his covered chest, looking over at his opposition across the battle field before getting ready to call his next move. He complimented the slightly younger male opposite him.

"Creative as always." He told him with a continuing smirk before snapping his fingers and striking a confident pose. His fingers changed to waggling slightly in the air. His Steelix seemed to share the same smirk. "But that just means that it's time for me to get more creative and powerful too."

Before Brock could continue with his words, the dark skinned male across the battle field from him interrupted, both he and his Pokémon panting slightly from the intense battle they had been having up until that moment. But like Brock and his Ground-and-Steel type, they too had the same confident smirk.

"I would expect nothing less from you." The Alolan native told the Kanto native and interjected him, taking a step back with his Turtonator. They were both ready to get even more serious. His eyes glinted even more. "Let's see what you've got."

"Well okay then!" Brock didn't hesitate to announce and take some steps back as well before reaching into his undershirt for something. He reached in for something very precious indeed. He yanked it out, his squareish features sharpening even more with determination. "Time for Mega Evolution!"

The dark skinned topless male and I both gasped, each of us sharing different reactions. I was at the edge of my seat, even though I was sat on the edge of the battle grounds and refereeing. My paws dug into the dirt below. My mouth twitched into a smirk that showed some of my teeth. Oh boy. Oh boy. As each second passed, it was getting more and more exciting. I felt young and free again. I felt like I was experiencing my first battle for the first time all over again. I felt young. I felt fresh. I felt ready for adventure. My life was certainly still full of that, even though I had given up proper travelling many many moons ago at that point.

Kiawe gasped for a different reason and his body grew frozen with surprise. Brock was a Kanto native, wasn't he? Mega Evolutions had had their humble beginnings in his home region of Alola, hadn't they? He was surprised. He was shocked. In that moment, he didn't understand how on earth the former Rock type Gym Leader of Kanto had got hold of one. But then he stopped. And his smirk took back over his face.

It was a smirk no longer of just confidence and determination but one of admiration too. His arms folded over his bare chest as Brock ripped his necklace off from around his neck and shone the stones light towards Steelix.

"I should never have doubted you." Kiawe told Brock, nodding his head approvingly before taking a couple of more steps backwards, making most of the huge battle field outside Saffron City. He continued. "The connection between you and Steelix is strong, anybody could see that."

Brock nodded his head and smirked gratefully upon hearing his momentary rival's words but he didn't have time to express his thanks. Kiawe was overtaken by even more drive and even more confidence. He did some gestures with his arms before standing proudly. He began to yell with enthusiasm.

"But the bond between me and my Turtonator is stronger still!" he bellowed past the light taking over Steelix and it becoming one with the stone and changing its form to become even more powerful than ever. Kiawe gestured with his hands. "If you're using all of your might then we will too and we will do it better than you! Turtonator, it's time for us to finish this battle up quickly with a Z move!"

I was positively shivering from my position of referee. Oh boy, oh boy. When I had gone with Brock on a doctors call to aid one of Kiawe's other Pokémon, I would have never have guessed that it would end up in a heated battle between them. Well, I should have. They were both as passionate and strong as they were when they were young adults.

The battle had been long and intense and many of their Pokémon had been defeated but it was Steelix and Turtonator who had remained undefeatable. But that wouldn't last any longer. One of them was going to be defeated. Would it be Kiawe and his beloved turtle Pokémon? I couldn't say. Would it be Brock and his valiant snake Pokémon? Even though I was the referee, I didn't like to judge. The ball was in either of their courts. It was such a close battle. They were both skilled and they were both friends. That expertise and that connection would surely result in a fiery end! And I was right.

My thoughts snapped back to the battle field and my eyes focused right as Kiawe stopped doing his Z move dance. He commanded his Pokémon by crossing his muscular arms before pointing his clenched fists towards where he wanted Turtonator to attack.

"The zenith of my mind, body, and spirit!" he yelled, drowning out the sound of my excited teeth chattering and Brock's impressed but fond chuckles. There was fire in his eyes like there were still fiery locks on stop of his slightly greying head of hair. "Become a raging fire and burn! Turtonator, charge towards Steelix and use Inferno Overdrive! You can do it!"

Just as quick and effortless as Kiawe's commands were, the Pokémon's reaction times were just as speedy despite his turtle-like nature. It took a split second to nod at his trainer before his eyes narrowed and he launched towards Steelix, preparing his mighty ball of flame in front of his mouth.

Brock was forced to stop smirking and being impressed. If he lingered any longer, it would all be over for him and his Pokémon. He couldn't have that. He smiled proudly at his Mega Evolution Steelix and watched as Kiawe fiddled with the necklace around his neck. But other than that, he didn't dawdle. He didn't dally. He was ready to unleash his own deadly attack. His eyes seemed to omit a powerful and assertive glow.

"You know what to do, Steelix!" Brock commanded his Pokémon and he had remained quiet and calm until that moment but then he started to raise his voice with spirit like Kiawe had been doing and often did. Steelix nodded and got ready to do what he knew was being asked of him. Brock embellished his words anyway. "Let Turtantor make you red hot and use Gyro Ball! Twist towards him and knock him out!"

Brock finished his commands with a fist pump in the air and I almost fainted with excitement. Like how my best friend was when he was watching those two, I was so very into it. In that moment, I had a pang of what felt like realisation that Brock and Steelix would perhaps be the victor but that didn't last long when I noticed the bond between Kiawe and Turtonator that was clear to see. I was baffled. I was confused. I was fired up. I was ready. I was ready to see the winner. And very soon, there would be one.

Steelix winced as the powerful and hot Inferno Overdrive hit his skin but his beloved trainer had commanded that he used it to his advantage. So he did just that. He withstood the flames and then twisted his body, rapidly heading towards Turtonator. Turtonator was charging towards Steelix as well but because of his bulkier size, he was a lot slower.

They were edging towards one and other, flames still coming out of the turtle Pokémon's mouth and Steelix still charging with tremendous speed. But then, Turtonator began to slow down and Kiawe began to sweat, feeling a pang of a defeat that he was fearing would come true. It was too much for Turtonator to charge and use his most powerful move. I began to feel in my stomach who the victor was going to be. And I was right.

"Give it all you've got, Turtonator, I believe in you!" Kiawe yelled encouragements to his Pokémon and in that moment, his whole fist was wrapped around the badge of his necklace. He had resumed panting as well as sweating. "Hold on just a bit longer! Make your flames burn his skin!"

Brock didn't hesitate to encourage his own Pokémon as well upon hearing his opposition do so.

"Keep going, Steelix! Twist your body and go even faster! C'mon, you're the one closing in the gap between you two! Send him flying!"

And Steelix did just that. He sent Turtonator flying. He shut his eyes as his rocky and iron head got ready to collide with the Turtle Pokémon and when it did so, it made a powerful noise. Turtonator fainted as soon as it happened. He was exhausted. But he still went flying through the air. Kiawe gasped.

"Turtonator!" he cried with horror upon seeing his Pokémon – his brother – unconscious in mid-air before going flying through the air. He didn't hesitate to run towards him. I gasped and cried out.

I wanted to call out and beg him in my own language not to do it but the words wouldn't come out. It was like I was no longer attached to my body. I had been carried away with the force of the battle and I hadn't returned to my skin just yet. Brock sensed my panic and felt the same way and tried to stop Kiawe.

"Kiawe, don't!" he warned him with quickness but despite my emotions, no panic entering his body. He seemed to be always calm. No wonder he was a Pokémon Doctor. He continued, remaining collected. "Kiawe call Turtonator back to his Poké Ball now!"

But it was too late. If Kiawe stopped and reached into his pocket for his ball, it would've happened. If he continued running towards both Pokémon, it would've happened. It was going to happen either way. I shut my eyes and could only listen to the horrible sounds as Turtonator was flung towards Kiawe and the spikes of his head collided with him and knocked him down into the ground. There was an awful thud as the Alolan native hit the ground. If Turtonator had been conscious, he would have cried out in horror upon knowing that he had sent his dearest trainer smashing into the floor.

Brock was beginning to lose his cool but somehow, he managed to keep onto it.

"Steelix, stop that!" he commanded respectfully but forcefully and from my frozen state, even though I didn't say anything and though I didn't need to say anything, I knew the battle was over. It had been forfeited. Though Brock had tried to stop Kiawe running towards destruction before, he then charged himself to try and grab Kiawe's Poké Balls to put Turtonator back inside before he ended up life-changingly injured.

But he was halfway across the battle field. No way was he going to make it in time. My eyes crept open. Brock begged me to try and do something but I was still stuck. I was still frozen. My emotions changed so quickly. I felt like a hero and on stop of the world when I was watching their battle. But in that moment, I felt like a loser. I was stuck. I couldn't move. I kept waiting for my being and my body to reconnect and for me to spring into action. But it didn't happen. It couldn't happen. I felt so sorry. I just couldn't help them.

But someone else could. And thank goodness for it. I had had no idea but in that moment it was revealed to us all that someone had secretly been watching the battle when she came across it walking back from visiting her old school. Panic had filled her own body when she saw the Alolan native getting hurt and even more worried nausea took over her being when she feared that the Pokémon would end up awfully smashed as well. But luckily for her, her fear got turned to adrenaline. Unlike me, she was able to take action. The orange haired young woman darted out from watching between the trees and charged towards Kiawe, making an aim for his belt. It was Jorgie.

Brock gasped when he saw her but he was the only one to react. I was still frozen. Kiawe was still a dazed heap on the ground. Steelix had been commanded to stop so that's what he was doing. Turtonator was still flying through the air and completely unconscious. He was about to land on the ground behind his trainer with a horrible smack.

The former Pewter Gym Leader shut his eyes. He couldn't bear to see his friend injured and his Pokémon all because of their intense but powerful battle. Steelix returned himself to his Poké Ball, too guilty to continue watching. Kiawe mumbled his Pokémon's name while being severely lightheaded. I remained brave. My eyes stayed open. But it was Jorgie who, of course, was the bravest of us all.

She dived clumsily but helpfully towards Kiawe's body and his belt and snatched all of his Poké Balls and held them up in the air. She almost dropped some of them – they were so big and her hands were so dainty and small – but she narrowed her eyes. She focused. She held onto them tight. Her voice was shaky but she commanded with certainty.

"Turtonator, return." She uttered and as she held all six Poké Balls out towards the turtle Pokémon, a miracle happened. One of them flashed. One of them vibrated. One of them flashed and vibrated in her trembling hold. A red jet of light flashed out from the button of one of them. And before Turtonator hit the ground, he was returned safely to his Poké Ball l home.

Jorgie dropped all of them as soon as the Turtle Pokémon was hidden away, her confident and lucky side fading away and her sensitive and shocked one taking over. She flopped down to her knees and remained next to the side of an injured and confused Kiawe.

The orange haired young woman's immense bravery was what I needed to see to snap into action. My being and my body reconnected at last. I let out my Pokémon-like call and charged towards both Jorgie and Kiawe, my legs like jelly but somehow full of strength at the same time. I leaped into her arms and held onto her. She let out a quiet whimper and held onto me back. We both held onto each other. We both needed that.

Brock hesitantly and slowly opened his eyes. He had heard it all. He had heard with his own ears someone coming to the rescue and calling Turtonator back to his Poké Ball but in that moment, he didn't know what was real. He didn't want to believe it was real, in case he was horribly wrong. In case he had to deal with a severely injured Kiawe and a severely injured Pokémon. But lucky, he didn't. Thanks to Jorgie, he didn't.

Both I and the Morgan-Williams girl stayed cuddled together while Brock's eyes adjusted to the light and then he too snapped into action. He sprinted towards us and the laying down Kiawe but did it with much less speed than we both did. His legs were very much like jelly and he could feel it. But he breathed out.

"Jorgie…" he mumbled, shaking his head in disbelief at the girl that he knew to be Misty's little half-sister, he crouched down next to her and gave her a shaky and awkward but hair tousle that was filled with admiration and gratitude. He continued panting. "Jorgie…" he mumbled again and that's the only word that he could say. Her name. He could only say her name.

And in his possibly delirious state, Kiawe heard it as well and found himself repeating it.

"Jorgie…" he wheezed, his back still flat out on the ground below him and his head throbbing as he couldn't move or do anything other than look up at the blue-grey sky that was above him. He shut his eyes when he felt a searing pain on his forehead. But he still managed to speak. "Jorgie…" he mumbled like Brock had before his tone changed. "Jorgie…? Wait, who is Jorgie?"

The orange haired female had had a long cuddle with me and she had managed to take a few long breaths and recover since her almighty and brave act. She showed off a small, shaky smile and looked down at Kiawe, getting ready to comfort him and introduce herself before she gasped and jumped. She shuddered so much that I almost fell off her lap. Her green orbs filled with concern.

"Oh my goodness, his head is in really bad shape." She told no one particular, wincing down at the large gash that was indeed slashed across Kiawe's forehead. She then looked over at Brock for guidance, her eyes filled with fear. "Do something. Help him. He's bleeding."

The Kanto native adult man didn't hesitate to nod and knot his eyebrows together before rushing over to his Doctors bag that he kept with him at all times. Both Jorgie and I swallowed our worry and stayed near Kiawe. Her hand was casually and innocently on his thigh but neither of them noticed. The native Alolan only noticed some voices and the searing pain that was making it hard for him to move.

"Bleeding…? I'm bleeding…?" he asked in a daze to which Jorgie responded by nodding sadly and nudging closer to him. Her hand remained on his leg to comfort him. He kept his eyes shut and his head flopped further back on the ground below him. "I'm bleeding. Whoopdeedo."

Despite his worry and inward panic, Brock couldn't help but smirk shakily upon hearing Kiawe's unusual response and after he fetched his doctor's bag, he kneeled back next to the slightly younger male and the much younger female. He remained calm and professional, a lot different than the sturdiness he possessed during battle.

"You're just a little out of it." He told him gently and continued looking at him as he rummaged in his doctors bag for healing herbs. While Jorgie looked to him worriedly, he looked to Kiawe and began to realise how severe it really was. "Actually, I think you should be a lot out of it because that is one nasty wound."

Jorgie was a very sensitive and caring young lady and she showed that by shuddering and her eyes filling with almost tears at Brock's casual but very real diagnosis. Meanwhile, Kiawe was strong and bound to the earth. Nothing much fazed him. Nothing much ever fazed him. And he showed this by barely reacting to Brock's words and humming to himself to comfort himself. But then again, he could have been experiencing severe confusion.

The green orbed Morgan-Williams went back to looking down at Kiawe, holding a hand over her heart and biting her lip at the state she worried that the stranger was in. She begged Brock once again.

"Do something." She asked of him, her grip tightening on Kiawe's leg and this caused him to wince but she didn't realise it was because of her. She assumed that his forehead was in burning and severe pain. Which it was. She sniffed. "Please, do something."

"Alright, alright, I am." Brock responded quickly but not rudely, speeding up his pace of rummaging in his bag. He showed off a small smirk at Jorgie's concern and Kiawe's humming, despite the fact that the injury and situation was potentially very dangerous. He shoulders filled with certainty when he found what he was looking for. "Alright, I got it. What I'm going to do is-"

He began but he was interrupted. He frowned right away as a bleeping alarm sound blared out from inside his bag. Kiawe winced and shuddered and Jorgie automatically tried to comfort him by her other hand going to the part of his head that didn't have a massive cut decorating it. Brock seemed to pale right away as he reached into his bag and pulled out the device. He shoulders stopped looking so confident.

"Oh no… Oh no…" he mumbled and shook his head to himself, for once, almost freezing. He continued shaking his head for quite some time and when he met Jorgie's worried round eyes that wanted to know what the situation was, he had to tell her. "It's the Pokémon Centre. There's an emergency over there and they need me right away. But… But I can't go. I have to stay. I have to help Kiawe. I have to help my friend."

My stomach knotted with anxiety and Jorgie's did too. Oh dear. Oh dear. The day had been so exciting and filled with such passion and then somehow, he turned into a massive dilemma. I breathed out. I knew that Brock was going to stay and help Kiawe, I just knew it. He valued all life. He loved Pokémon so much. He loved helping them out, that's why he became a doctor. He loved Pokémon. But he loved Kiawe more. But in that moment, Kiawe proved that he was very much worthy of all of that love.

Despite his highly confused state and being in deep agony, he managed to open his eyes. He felt Jorgie's hand on his head and this helped him be able to turn to Brock and look into his eyes. He looked at him as adamantly as he could manage he tried to shake his head.

"Pokémon… Over… Kiawe…" he spoke out before shutting his eyes and it took Brock a while to understand his words. I understood them right away and was made to nuzzle Jorgie when I felt a wave of affection rushing over for Kiawe. He spoke his words again, louder that time. "Pokémon… Over… Kiawe."

Brock then understood. He shook his head. He took hold of Kiawe's hand briefly and gave it a squeeze. He continued shaking his head even though no eyes were on him. Kiawe's eyes were shut and Jorgie's eyes were watching over Kiawe.

"No. Never. Pokémon never come over Kiawe. Not now. Not ever." Brock tried to tell him and Kiawe opened his eyes and got ready to disagree with him but Jorgie interjected. She was looking at the Alolan Native but she was speaking to the Pokémon Doctor.

"Yes. This time. This time is Pokémon over Kiawe." She announced to us all, learning the dark skinned male's name before finally looking over at Brock. Her sensitive orbs were filled with a tint of confidence. "You need to choose Pokémon because I can help Kiawe."

I held my breath. A wave of affection washed over me again and that time, it was for Jorgie. It was for sweet little Jorgie whose parents I adored so much, both in different ways. And I adored her too. She was unique. She was caring. She was lovely. She was loved. And she loved. She would do anything for anyone. Even a stranger.

Brock's worried expression softened momentarily and he smiled at Jorgie. He tried to reason with her.

"Jorgie, no…" he began, his eyes full of gratitude and thanks but his expression looking down at her as if she was a child. She didn't like that. Her shoulders straightened and stood more proudly. She shook her head at Brock. She almost argued with him.

"Just go." She told him in such an assertive way that Brock kind of reacted like he was talking to Misty and almost packed up this things and left for the Pokémon Centre there and then. But he stuck about. Jorgie continued while despite his state, Kiawe's head tried to turn towards her with intrigue. "I can help him. You have to believe in me. I can handle this. I can help him."

Brock paused and he ended up pausing for a good few minutes. He bit his lip, considering. He had known the Williams' family forever. It had started with Misty and then her sisters and then her parents and then Misty's half-siblings when James and Lynne became one. He knew them very well indeed. But there was something stopping him. And I knew why.

He knew he could trust the Williams half in her but he hadn't been around all of the Morgan's as much as I and Ash had. He was still wary of her other side. He didn't know what to do. He didn't know whether to trust it and Jorgie could sense this.

A hurt expression took over her face but she didn't let it linger long. She shook her head – to dismiss her own expression and to dismiss Brock's thoughts. He could trust her. Really, he could trust her. She looked right into his eyes and that's when he knew. She was right. He could trust her.

He could see and feel the goodness in her and he then felt bad for judging. He stood up and collected his things, not looking away from her eyes the entire time. She nodded. And then he knew. He saw the goodness and the power that lay within her. He knew that Kiawe was in safe hands. He finally nodded his head, feeling better about the whole situation.

"You got this." he told her and after squeezing her shoulder and tousling her hair for the second time that day, he gave Kiawe an encouraging nod and sprinted off with his bag and Poké Balls to the Pokémon Centre where he was going to continue his helpful healing.

That just left Kiawe and Jorgie and me as well but somehow I felt like the odd one out. I didn't know why. But I didn't mind it. The orange haired female continued looking down at the stranger that she only knew by name.

The Alolan Native broke the silence by keeping his eyes open and repeating Brock's words. He kept up his brave persona despite the fact that he was in very bad pain and very worried that it'd get worse if someone didn't hurry up and heal it.

"You got this…" he mumbled before having to shut his eyes when the pain began to take over his whole head rather than just the gash that was slashing down his forehead. But despite this, he remained collected. "You got this, Jorgie…"

He mumbled her name with a slight smirk and the orange haired female felt her cheeks blushing a rosy pink. She didn't know why. She didn't understand why. She put it down to anticipation and nerves and left it at that. But she mumbled back.

"Shut up…" she told him quietly and not rudely but his eye snapped open almost comically to look at her. She soon shook her head apologetically and innocently moved closer to him so his head was on her lap and her hands were holding his face. He looked even more confused. She swallowed gently. "Sorry, I just… I don't want you to freak out at what I'm about to do… But… But I trust you."

I looked over at them both and listened but I still felt very excluded from the conversation and moment. But still, I didn't mind. I really didn't. Upon hearing Jorgie's words, Kiawe's eyes met hers. Both their eyes lingered on each other for a few seconds and then Jorgie ducked her head, looking away. She felt the need to elaborate on her words. She felt the need to correct herself. She shook her head at herself and cleared her throat.

"I mean… I trust Brock and he trusts you. So I guess I do trust you, yeah." She told him hurriedly and then she felt his eyes lingering on her. She felt his head tilting on one side too. She breathed out, carefully pulling away any loose strands of his hair from the blood. She looked down at him. "I trust you. So please don't freak out."

I watched. I listened. Even though Jorgie had told Kiawe to remain calm, like it often happened to someone when these words were said, he began to feel very nervous. He began to feel very on edge. He was usually so calm and collected. But in that moment, he really had no idea what the young woman was going to do to him. But he soon scolded himself inwardly and sighed. Brock trusted her. So he did too. He nodded his head. He looked up at her curiously and watched her pull him closer to him and shut her eyes. A few moments after she shut her eyes, he did too. He missed with his eyes what she was going to do next. He heard it all with his ears but there weren't many sounds coming out of her.

I watched her. I watched Jorgie. I watched Jorgie as the Lynne in her took over her. Her brow furrowed. She began thinking of something very sad. She began thinking of something very very sad. Was it the fact that her mother wasn't always around? Was it the fact that she didn't always get to be around her father? Or was it simply a book or a film that was emotional? I didn't know. And Kiawe couldn't have possibly known, seeing as his eyes were shut.

Jorgie began to silently cry. The tears pooled her closed eyelids and when she opened them, one tear slid down one particular cheek. It slid down and down and she aimed it towards Kiawe's head. Though his eyes were shut, she felt the need to ask him again.

"Please don't freak out…" she whispered and she didn't intend for it to happen but the older male opened his eyes as soon as he heard her voice. I froze momentarily but then I assumed that he was going to keep calm. He was Kiawe, after all. His eyes remained open. His eyes widened when they saw Jorgie's tears and they saw a tear coming towards him.

Before he could question her motive or actions or move away, the single tear came fully and splashed down onto his forehead. The blood seemed to clear up right away but she would need to do more than that to make it heal even better. So she did just that. She squeezed her eyelids together just once and opened them again and three more tears came. Splash. Slide. Drip. They all fell onto Kiawe's forehead. And a tingly sensation took over his whole body as his wound didn't look good as new, but it was most certainly healed beyond infection.

Jorgie sniffed the rest of her tears back and then breathed out with relief that it had worked and without the Alolan male freaking out. She thought of that too soon. She spoke to soon. When he realised that he felt better and almost completely back to normal, his head slid off her lap and he made himself sit up. His eyes were wide. He pointed at her. No words came out but a strangled wheeze of a gasp came out of his throat.

The orange haired female blushed slightly in case he was judging her but she simply moved away from him too and switched to sitting with crossed legs. She then pushed all of her ginger locks onto one of her shoulders and tried to shrug at Kiawe airily. She raised an eyebrow at him.

"I told you not to freak out." she told him calmly before patting her lap for me to sit on. I happily obliged while Kiawe continued wheezily gasping before he folded his arms over his bare chest and tried to look casual. He swallowed the shock and attempted to compose himself.

"I'm not freaking out." he told her hurriedly and though her expression still showed a raised eyebrow, she was inwardly smiling and smirking at how dilated his pupils were. He really was freaking out. And she thought it was amusing and perhaps even a little sweet. He cleared his throat, trying to meet her eyes without losing his cool more. "I'm not freaking out. That's a very cool quality to have. Are you…? Am I…? I… Just… Thanks. Thank you."

His hurried and quick sentences ended like that. There wasn't much more else he could say, other than express his gratitude. He breathed out again while Jorgie just smiled and went back to giving me a proper cuddle and a fuss. We had all had a very trying day. Kiawe took the opportunity. Kiawe seized the opportunity to study her.

He didn't understand it. He didn't understand her. He was a man of the Pokémon World. He had seen many many things and many many miracles but somehow, that was nothing he had seen before. That was nothing he had witnessed before. That was nothing he had felt before.

He tried to move closer to Jorgie while she was occupied with me. He opened his mouth to speak. He smiled, his expression full of wonder. But he couldn't go any further. We both heard a voice. We both heard a very familiar voice. It was my best friend. It was Ash.

"Kiawe! Kiawe!" the raven haired male called out as he ran towards us all, showing that he was still energetic as an adult by almost skidding on his knees to sit next to his old friend. He breathed out, his eyes full of worry but his expression softening when he saw that everything had been taken care of. "Brock called me."

He began by announcing and from her fingers running down my back and massaging my fur; I felt Jorgie's digits stiffen. I looked up at her. I saw her expression was full of hurt. I understood. She realised that Brock had called Ash as back up. And then she felt like Brock didn't trust her. She felt like she wasn't good enough. I gave her a casual and a light nuzzle with my nose and surprisingly, this was enough to make her feel better. She let it go. She knew that Brock trusted her. She knew that she was good enough. But she understood that Brock cared. And she wanted Kiawe to be cared by everyone.

Ash continued, holding his hand out to Kiawe and helping him onto his feet. Though he no longer needed it, he wrapped his arm around his bare shoulders and helped him to walk.

"Let's get you to the hospital just in case. But Brock told me that Jorgie could handle it and I'm sure she did." Ash spoke warmly as he held onto the darker skinned male and he smiled even more softly as he smiled at his half-sister in law. After mouthing a "well done" to her, he nodded his head at her. "You better get home, Jorgie. We all know that father of yours will be missing you even if you're just half a second late."

Jorgie didn't hesitate to stand up and smooth down her hair. I gave her one last nuzzle before jumping from her shoulder to my best friend's one. I breathed out contentedly. I had had such a busy day being apart from him and even though we had known each other decades, I was still just as excited as ever to see him. I was still just as excited as ever to share everything with him and make him feel like he had been part of the experience.

The orange haired female and the raven haired male shared a smile and Jorgie nodded shyly over at Kiawe too. But before he could do anything else, she pushed her hair from her eyes and darted back in the direction that she came from. She headed back to her house. She headed back to her father. She headed back home.

I continued nuzzling my raven haired best friend and remained as close to him as ever as he spoke to Kiawe. His arm remained around him and he slapped his chest lightly.

"It sounds like you and Brock had quite the battle, buddy. I'm sad to have missed it but I'm sure Pikachu will tell me all about it." He paused to smile at me, nuzzling his cheek against mine before going back to speaking to Kiawe. "And lucky Jorgie came to the rescue too. She's amazing."

Ash spoke warmly about his wife's little half-sister and it warmed my heart. But the way Kiawe was looking over his shoulder for the lady who had come to his rescue even though she was no longer there moved my heart even more. He blinked his soft eyes and shook his head, breathing out in wonder and intrigue.

"Yeah…" he mumbled, still in a daze and Ash figured out that it was the long day he'd had and tried to encourage him in the direction of the nearest hospital. I shook my head fondly. I knew better than he did. Kiawe breathed out a second time. "She really is something… She really is something, isn't she?"

Ash of course nodded his head in agreement and smiled, his whole expression lighting up. He was proud to have an extended family that would help someone out at the drop of the hat, just like he would. He continued trying to lead Kiawe away but he was still looking after Jorgie.

"She really is something." My raven haired best friend agreed with him but before he could say anymore, Kiawe stopped looking for the orange haired female and looked to his old friend instead, a dazed look still on his face but a smile there too. He chuckled.

"What is she… An angel or something?" he asked, referring to the magical skill that she had shown Kiawe that she had and Ash and I were forced to share a look. We smiled at one and other and we touched cheeks together. We both hummed to ourselves and Ash chuckled with Kiawe as he finally led him away from the battle field.

"I think she could be something like that, Kiawe. Yeah, she's something like that."

My best friend told Kiawe this lightly but along with being calm and collected and powerful, Kiawe was wise. He somehow sensed that there were more to Ash's words than just light-heartedness and he knew there was more than just affection between our secret cheek nuzzle. And he was right. He was right about both these things. He was right about all these things.

Jorgie was indeed very special. Jorgie was indeed an angel. But what Kiawe could never have predicted was how right he was. And even more importantly, he could never have guessed that he'd be so lucky that, in the future, their paths would cross once again. And somehow, it would be even more magical than the first time.

The End.

There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I was a little nervous when it came to tackling this chapter because writing battles isn't exactly something I do often so I had Brock and Kiawe's battle in the anime on my Ipad as reference. Seeing as Ash quits journeying after Kalos like I said, I wasn't sure if that battle actually would take place in my universe. So I wrote them as having a battle here. I think I headcanon that Ash and Misty get to know Kiawe when they go on holiday to Alola after their twins are born and they probably end up visiting his family farm. Brock probably knows Kiawe from various Pokemon League events and of course Jorgie knows Brock through Ash and Misty. And this event here is how Jorgie and Kiawe's paths meet and it's the start of them getting pretty close. But that's for another day :P Thanks again and I'll be back next Wednesday so see you then!
