Hello :P It is Wednesday and I am back with a new chapter! This upload is a continuation of the romantic relationship of Justin and Eli. Funnily enough, Beechwood Cafe, one of the favourite hang out spots of the two of them, not only is a nod to the fact that this couple is heavily inspired by music, but it also is the same name of the diner that James and Misty hang out at when they're having their own similar but unique relationship! Anyhow - this chapter between Justin Morgan (Jessie and James' son) and Eli shows more of the moments towards their break up. It's not as happy as the previous ones of them! But I hope you enjoy :)

Ages:

Justin: 22

Eli: 34

Disclaimer: I own the stories and the OCs mentioned! (Also, just a heads up that this chapter does focus on Eli trying to hide his romantic relationship with his boyfriend, Justin, and not feeling comfortable expressing his sexuality in public. So if that's upsetting for you then perhaps give this a miss!)

This story to you now took a long time coming to hear and it took a lot of piecing together as well. It's funny how the more complicated moments are harder to tell. They're harder to tell pragmatically. Walls go up. Words get said. Pain and hurt blur the lines between love and hate. Plain and simple, things can get complicated.

But as always, this tale will be delivered to you in the best way that I know how. I'll tell you the truth. Though as we have all grown to know, that word is something that the two people involved in this particular relationship didn't find the easiest! However, they got there in the end. And you being told all of this is them getting there. Eventually.

Justin tells me that he sat rather stiffly one day in a café in Kanto and he ran a hand through his hair. He had seated himself in the middle of the quietly bustling atmosphere of the building and he had one arm resting in a straight line across the wood of the table, his elbow pressed firmly against it. His hand did indeed tousle through his locks.

With his spare hand, he stroked at the little label attached to the string that was drooping out of his cup of warm beverage. Justin sat there. Justin sat there and he thought. Thought is very much what he did.

He must've had a bit of a frown on his face, even if it was the most delicate of ones. And his lips were probably parted as he pondered to himself, allowing breath to exhale out of there as his mind went in circles.

He thought about all kinds of things. But of course, he thought about one thing in particular the most. He stretched out his legs underneath the table as best as he could and he tried to appear comfy sitting there in his leather jacket – even though he didn't really care about what people thought of him anyway.

Needless to say, only one person's opinion of him mattered to him there and then and the most of all. He really did try to appear at ease as he sat at the Beechwood Café and lingering opposite his hot drink and stretching his long legs out underneath the grey oak wooden table.

However, the heat due to the fact that it was late August as well as the warmth exuding from the liquid in the cup in front of him – and this isn't even mentioning the swirling thoughts that were beginning to have the attention of the forefront of his mind – made that very difficult indeed.

Truthfully, it was the racing mind that was beginning to bother him the most. And the deep purple haired male showed this by switching which arm was resting against the solidness of the table and rummaging through his locks, and which one was feebly clinging onto the flimsy paper attached by string to the teabag in the mug.

He really couldn't stop his thoughts from taking over the entire area of his brain and causing a dull ache at the very apex of his skull. And so, he let all of them come. Each and every thought. Each and every notion. Each and every niggle. Though in retrospect, he tells me, that even he didn't make very much sense of them.

What was he going to do? Plain and simple, what was he going to do? Now that he was back in his home of the Kanto Region, he was clueless. How could something so wonderful and so magical that was the spontaneous trip to Unova come crashing down so fast?

In spite of the fact that an occasional rose tinted glasses mind-set could be associated with the deep purple haired male, things still had gone from absolute euphoria to rock bottom. Justin couldn't stop his mind from flickering to when the lady who cleaned the deep purple haired male and the deep violet haired male's rented accommodation had walked in on the two of them being romantic.

The eldest Morgan son shuddered, and out of habit and out of a feeble desperation for comfort, he grabbed hold of the mug of tea with both hands and drew it closer to his body. As he did this, his mind went cold with memories.

The sheer horror on Eli's face when he had been discovered holding onto the side of Justin's face and brushing his hair from his eyes as they had a spontaneous moment to express their affection to one and other. And love. Though there was no ounce of love on the deep violet haired Unovan male's face in the moments after they had been caught in the act.

The cleaner hardly seemed affected at all and just promptly left. The eldest Morgan son was understandably red faced and regretful. However, no reaction could have compared with the one from Eli.

Justin Morgan most definitely had a frown on his face there and then and in the Beechwood Café as he reflected on all of this. Even so, he tried hard not to reflect on all of this because it confused him so. It rattled him so. It pained him so.

The deep purple haired male let out a sigh and finally lifted the mug to his lips and took a drink, perhaps inwardly hoping that with his sigh he would be able to rid himself of the whirling and swirling sensation that was his thoughts inside his mind. And perhaps he was hoping that as he swallowed the warmth, he could remember happier moments that were shared between he and his boyfriend.

That didn't come. He felt as empty and as hollow and confused as he had done from the moment that things had started to go wrong between the two of them, let alone the moment that he entered one of their favourite spots together - alone.

Justin decided to go back to leaving the mug discarded on the wooden top of the table and that time as he pressed one arm back against the solidness, he pressed both of them there. He offered himself almost a hug.

Silently, the deep purple haired male was trying to soothe himself. His heart didn't need soothing at that point and during that moment. Though maybe he knew that not too far down the road, it most definitely would.

As Justin tried to block out each and every thought that popped into his mind – and along with it barricaded the good ones and the mundane ones that came with life and were not even associated with his relationship at all – he pulled his legs closer to him underneath his chair and the table as well.

He tried to move on with things in a disengaged and dismissive sort of way. And like how it often could be when the universe liked to play with you, it was during that exact moment that Justin was beginning to feel more natural with letting his thoughts pass in his mind like clouds in the sky that his phone silently buzzed and vibrated, stealing his full attention.

I don't believe that I need to inform you who exactly was reaching out to him. Because it was something that he did a lot and without putting much thought into it, the deep purple haired male of course reached out to his phone himself when it made a noise and he picked it up straight away.

Though I believe I am correct in imagining the expression that took over his face when he held it to his ear. It was surly in a guarded sort of way. His shoulders in his leather jacket drew upwards towards his ears, where his phone was being held against one of them. He did answer. He did answer, promptly; I'll respect him for that.

But his tone came out bordering on robotic. And I can't help but wonder if that began to cause a vulnerable ache fluttering through his veins and towards his heart.

"What's up?" he questioned in a greetings sort of way rather than a lazy reply but one wouldn't have been able to guess that based on his tone of voice! If anyone had been breezing past him in the bustling atmosphere of the Beechwood Café – a waitress or a fellow guest – then they might've suspected upon eavesdropping that the person answering the call didn't have very much time for the other one.

Indeed, this is a far cry from how things usually were displayed between the duo of Justin Morgan and Eli Williams.

"Hey gorgeous." The deep violet haired male's low yet silky voice could be heard from the other end of the phone and in hindsight, the deep purple haired male didn't tell me whether or not these simple words from the man that still meant a lot to him sent a pleasurable shiver down his spine as well as his heart rate to elevate. Perhaps he didn't want to admit this to himself. Or maybe he gathered what was to come next. "You're not on loudspeaker are you?"

A lengthy and telling pause happened. With a bit of a squeak, Justin's elbows stopped being tucked up so close to his body and he gave his arms a bit more room to stretch. A frown took over his naturally angular features. In fact, his chiselled jaw somehow sucked in all the more.

The deep purple haired male had a pause to himself where he frowned and his eyes lifted briefly towards the ceiling and the light fixtures of the café. And then, he responded curtly to Eli's words as well as the way that they became a little more hurried and uneasy. He could tell that he had sat up in nervous anticipation, wherever he was.

"No, I'm not on loudspeaker. I know the rules by now." The eldest Morgan uttered a little bitterly, though for his boyfriend's benefit without intending this to be the case, he had started nibbling his lip in between muttering his words. So it came off as a little distant rather than entirely rude. I'm told that the Unovan male had his own pause there and then and – wherever he was – probably eased back down again. During this time, Justin had an opportunity to be a little softer and he did take it. "I'm at Beechwood right now. I just fancied a little drink. I did leave you a note."

The unmistakable rustling sounds of a duvet could be heard from the other end of the phone and going directly into Justin's ear as he very much wasn't on loudspeaker. I could imagine the deep violet haired male switching which side he was laying on in bed in order to talk to the younger male. And just like him and in the same way, he stretched out his legs also.

Though of course, his was under duvet covers of the bed that they shared rather than the wooden table in the place they often visited together.

"Oh, really? Well, I wouldn't know. I'm still in bed. I really did only just open my eyes." Eli went back to talking to Justin through the phone with that naturally low yet silky smooth voice of his and even though of course the pair of them couldn't see one and other, the eldest Morgan son nodded as he heard these words. The Unovan male paused before speaking yet again. Except that time it was far quicker. He soon enough added more words, perhaps sitting up in bed all over again. "Can I join you?"

The deep purple haired male didn't say anything for a minute while he held the phone pressed up against his right ear and he took hold of the piece of paper attached to his teabag all over again. He fiddled with it, rolling it between his thumb and forefinger.

Then, he answered the request of the person on the other end of the phone with not a hint of a smile. Even so, he nodded a second time.

"Sure. You can join." Justin replied vapidly, and I get the image in my head even as time passed that the deep violet haired male nodded himself upon hearing this. In addition to this, I conjured up the idea of him running his hands over the unruly curly parts of his hair before travelling down, smoothing over the parts that were shaved much closer to his head. I can't help but wonder if the deep purple haired male got a similar image in his mind at the same time. Or maybe he imagined him biting his lip, looking down at the white of the mattress. Justin decided to show off the tiny beginnings of a smile as he continued, and I don't believe that he was putting on an act. "Yeah, come down. I'd love to see ya."

No pause happened at that moment! More rustling duvet sounds could be heard coming from the other end of the phone and words didn't hesitate to come. Justin's smile at the Beechwood Café grew wider and more believable as he looked down at his lap while still holding the phone to his ear.

"Okay." Eli blurted out in response and he heard the little bit of reassurance from his boyfriend and he wholly went with it. I got the funny image in my mind of him kicking the duvet away from him entirely before his short legs tripped over it. I very much could have been correct based on the fact that he breathlessly added. "You'll wait for me, won't you?"

The deep purple haired took a moment to think to himself and a moment to nibble at his bottom lip. However, it wasn't to signal anything. It wasn't to be teasing.

Greatly contrasting these two possibilities, it was actually because he started smiling to himself even more. No doubt were the hurried yet sleepy and clumsy yet put together words sounding from the other end of the phone line sending more of a lightness through his being.

Tousling his hair again with his spare hand, he spoke back, his teeth starting to show as he tried to stop himself from smiling but failed.

"I'll always wait for you, you know I will." The deep purple haired male uttered mundanely and simply in tone but the very subtle sparkle coming back to his orbs when he concluded his own sentences spoke volumes.

The two males that were in a relationship nodded at that point, before the phone conversation got cut off. Justin tells me that his one was very slow and thoughtless yet intentional all the same. On the other hand, I had to imagine Eli's and I imagined it to be a little bit giddy and yearning. No doubt was he hurrying to see the younger male once again as soon as the line got cut off!

So because of this, after the deep purple haired male pressed his phone back against the solid wood of the table along with his mug and he sat back in his chair, he thought to himself all over again. And as he pondered quietly, that smile dropped from upon his face.

Now, that smile didn't stop from upon his face because he had been putting on a façade the entire time, oh no. I understand that that brushing away of his oncoming grin was for one reason and one reason only. He had been so confused. He had been so conflicted. He had been so restless. He had been so bewildered.

And then he had heard the voice of his boyfriend and the person that he really did care for so much. All of those conflicting thoughts and feelings and dilemmas and notions had washed away as if Eli's voice had been the tide lapping up the shore and dragging away all of the pebbles.

He was fully aware that they had been washed away so quickly! He didn't exactly feel at complete ease with it. But he didn't know what else to do.

That feeling of tingling and oncoming euphoria as soon as he allowed himself to feel a spark of joy again and coming from the Unovan male felt a hell of a lot better than the twisting and turning and gurning that knotted up his brain when he overthought.

So for the time being, he went for the feeling of ecstasy. He allowed himself to smile a little more. He allowed himself to stretch out in the chair in more of a carefree kind of way. He allowed himself to feel extremely excited for the fact that he was going to lay his eyes on the unique and endearing face of his boyfriend soon enough if he was patient enough. That thought and that thought alone caused his cheeks to redden and it most certainly wasn't the beverage just across from him!

But unfortunately, like how it could most certainly go down within the relationship of the two of them and like it often happened in life when you glossed over things too quickly and grew a little pie in the sky – it was a long way down from the top. Expectations that were far too high were rarely met.

Justin didn't believe he had any expectations at all. Though in hindsight, he obviously did from the way that his heart leaping in his chest and his mouth beginning to beam both dropped entirely when he saw his boyfriend finally entering the same building as him not too much later.

The deep purple haired male had craned his neck round each and every of the few times that the door to the Beechwood Café had opened while waiting for his love interest. And then when the door was pushed open and it eventually was Eli, he found himself needing to face forward all over again so he could swallow his disappointment and keep it just for him.

The deep violet haired male was none the wiser. He managed to block out the gatherings of other people and their chattering noises and hone in entirely on the only person in the room with the skinny and tall frame and the indeed deep purple hair.

The Unovan male made a beeline straight for him while he continued facing forward and trying not to be dramatic about or blow out of proportion one simple and tiny thing. Eli's hand went to the top and centre part of the younger male's back as soon as he got near enough to him, and then that hand slid across the black leather of his jacket and held onto the side of his arm as he moved to face Justin.

In spite of the fact that he was trying to keep all reactions and innermost feelings to himself, the eldest Morgan son couldn't stop his eyes from locking onto the being of his boyfriend and travelling upwards the same exact split second that he paused in front of him.

He had just enough time to properly fix on his face and get a second sensation of dread before the deep violet haired male came out with words at the same time that he pulled out the seat opposite Justin and intended to sit down.

"Right slap bang in the middle of this place? Not the corner like usual? It's a little exposed, don't you think?" these were the first words that the Unovan male spoke to the Kanto born one when they were back to conversing with each other in person rather than on the phone. These first words came out very bluntly and directly. Nevertheless, even Justin's disappointed self was able to see the sparkle in his eye and the ripple lines appearing on his face as he smiled.

The deep purple haired male encouraged himself to smile back. He let out a bit of a noise that was half a laugh, half a sigh, half a cough to which Eli raised his eyebrows and widened those naturally inquisitive orbs of his but didn't comment on it with words . And then Justin decided to be a little bit airy as well.

It took a lot more from the deep purple haired male. He tried not to stare too hard or even flicker his gaze prominently towards the outfit that his boyfriend had chosen. And it wasn't because he was appalled by it! It was true that the deep violet haired male was an eccentric character and had some unusual clothing choices some of the time. This never bothered the younger male. In fact, it almost always filled him with admiration.

However, the same could not be said for what he was wearing there and then and on that day to the Beechwood Café. Even so, Justin really did try his best in not making a mountain out of a molehill.

Intentionally or unintentionally, I still don't know, he finally replied to Eli's easy-going yet very real words with his own put-on lightness.

"You would see that all our usual corner spots are taken if you looked around a little more." The deep purple haired male tried to refer to the way that his boyfriend had previously (and often did) focused on him and only him and come straight to him rather than spending much time on the surroundings.

But of course, he meant something else by this as well. Yet he hoped his Unovan wouldn't catch on to the true meaning of his genuine all the same actions as he closed his mouth after speaking in order to smile and he tried to reach both hands out his out to brush his black hoodie hood away from his face.

The deep violet haired male flinched. Justin's arms in his leather jacket froze and then hung limply in mid-air. Thankfully for the younger male, Eli spoke of his own actions quick enough. However, the deep purple haired male still felt that horrible icy sensation dripping through his veins from the very first second that his boyfriend had flinched to his touch in public. Needless to say, it wasn't the first time.

"I'm a little tired, baby." The Unovan male spoke to the younger male lower than usual and this was of course because he was speaking directly to him, as well as the fact that a sweet name for him had slipped out. After Eli used these words as an explanation for the reason why he had chosen to wear his comfortable signature black hoodie as well as keep it up over his head, he tilted his head and looked at Justin, thinking to himself. Not long after words popped into his mind, he tried to display them on those inquisitive yet sunken orbs of his. But, he was left having to say what he was observing entirely when Justin leaned back in his chair at being stared at so hard by his boyfriend and frowning, as he didn't understand why. "You're hardly wearing clothes appropriate to the surroundings yourself. Aren't you hot?"

"Boiling. So I'm taking mine off." The eldest Morgan son spoke rather promptly in comparison to his demeanour that took a little while to catch on to why the older male was staring so heavily at him. And true to his word, Justin did indeed take his leather jacket off from his body and it was most likely almost sticking to him from the way that some squeaking noises sounded!

Nevertheless, while the Unovan male did go back to staring all over again and with his head tilted, he didn't stare at anything in particular – nor did he smile at anything at all – Justin followed through with his actions in taking one of his layers off and resting it over the back of his own chair.

Perhaps if Eli had been staring at anything in particular, then he could've been thinking that the loss of the leather jacket wasn't exactly an improvement. He was still wearing a black tight t-shirt and black even tighter skinny jeans. And it was August! Granted, it wasn't a particular nice day for a Kanto late summer as the sky was filled with a lot of grey clouds.

But it was very muggy. The weather conditions were very close and headachy. It wasn't really the weather for either of their outfits to be honest with you, let alone for drinking warm drinks. I supposed their minds were elsewhere, on other things, though when they were with each other, they found themselves fixating on one and other all over again.

In spite of this, events and conversation soon turned back to the mundane. After wordlessly just looking at each other for a little longer – Eli leaning back in his seat and with his hands going into the pockets of his hoodie and Justin pressing his bare arms against the wood of the table while also hugging them closer to his slim frame – the older of the two broke the silence.

It was clear that he was preparing to wriggle out of his seat after only just sitting down in it by the way that one hand slipped out of his hoodie pocket and his thighs elevated off the chair.

"I need to go and get myself a drink. I don't think you got me one." The Unovan male began and despite the fact that the point of his words was very clear and Justin could often get upset by that sort of thing, the younger male didn't at that moment.

Justin merely blinked while his boyfriend elevated himself off the chair a little more. And then before he could properly get himself up, the eldest Morgan son's arm shot out all over again and this was in order to push his mug towards the Unovan male instead.

The deep purple haired male pressed his lips into a polite smile as he explained, his once again ring-clad hand gesturing after neither of them were touching the mug any more.

"Take mine. I don't really want it anymore. I ordered your usual anyway." Justin spoke these words almost as if he had rehearsed them and I don't think that he was expecting such an alluring reaction from the older male. Nevertheless, almost as soon as the eldest Morgan son said these words, Eli's eyes twinkled far more than they had done in that surrounding and his neck slanted more than they had done before as well. His tongue threatened to poke out between his lips. Before it could come out the entire way, Justin spoke and Justin laughed. And he laughed and spoke naturally. "Just take it."

Eli didn't need encouragement from his boyfriend a second time! He didn't hesitate to reach for the chamomile tea that was halfway between them both and instead of delicately playing with the paper tag like the younger male had been doing thoughtfully; he grabbed the cup fully all the way and held it in between both large hands.

Even so, he didn't drink straight away. He continued twinkling and smirking and then because he enjoyed the way that Justin had begun snickering and his narrow shoulders had raised upwards with the supressed giggles, he chuckled back with him.

Both of their faces screwed up and Eli's screwed up as he leaned forward teasingly. He uttered humorously.

"My work here with you is done." The Unovan male announced playfully and his response from the younger male was an eye roll and an expression of trying to contain his chuckles but he wasn't doing a very good job of it. I don't think he minded it so much that time.

When he was in the presence of the deep violet haired male, everything seemed to go out of the window. His logical thought. His natural impulses. Essentially - his head. He was owned by Eli and he was owned by him entirely, without the older male intending things to be this way at all.

It was proven at that point that the Unovan male felt the exact same way as the Kanto born one, even though he was the one usually prone to getting overwhelmed and putting down the expectations for how they were meant to behave together – in public.

The mutual feelings of adoration and lust and desire and consumption were shown at that point when after the two guys finally stopped giggling and chuckling and only smirked instead, Eli allowed Justin's hand to reach out and rest upon the top of his wrist before his fingers including his adorned ring one edged up the black and hollow sleeve of his hoodie.

The deep violet haired male did very subtly flinch and paused when the contact was initially made. But then he let it go. At least he hadn't reached for his hand. Justin was oblivious to his hesitations and qualms for once and merely watched as his own fingers sunk further up his sleeve, and Eli used his other hand to hold and drink his boyfriend's herbal tea.

After a few more seconds passed and the small intimacy and peacefulness happened between them and the world still buzzed and hummed and chatted around them, it was Justin's turn to break the silence that time.

His eyes travelling away to what he was doing with his own fingers, his lower legs began to secretly entwine with Eli's underneath the table. The older man flinched a little more obviously at this but then he merely exhaled his uncomfortableness and all desire to say something by letting out a sigh.

Justin was still none the wiser for once and he smiled as he spoke.

"So you really didn't get the note of mine that I left for you? That's a shame." The deep purple haired male started his question in a very innocent way yet that soon disappeared! Almost mirroring Eli's prior expression but with his own features, a dimple appeared on the side of Justin's cheek as he smirked and poked his own tongue out between his lips.

The deep violet haired male was in the middle of taking an appreciative sip of the chamomile tea when Justin spoke those words – and looked at him the way that he did – so perhaps he would've responded sensually back if he hadn't been occupied.

But alas, he had been occupied and responded back with a gentle smile, his innocence mirroring Justin's before it went a different way.

"I didn't see your note at all, I told you. I phoned you practically almost as soon as my eyes opened. I slept a really long time." Eli told Justin very truthfully and even though I'm sure that the younger male would've liked the older one to play along with his mischief, he couldn't help but find himself lapping up this response from him all the same.

I am certain that Justin practically turned doe eyed as he was opposite Eli and he probably held his hand onto his wrist tighter, sliding his fingers further up the black hoodie sleeve that he had firstly been so disappointed to see.

The Unovan male had uttered his previous words so levelly and earnestly that in hindsight, I suspected that it would be pointless for Justin to try and get more out of him! But try Justin Morgan did. Of course he tried; it was still the deep purple haired male after all.

"Awwww, I really am the first thing on your mind, am I?" Justin questioned and hummed and he tried to tease, but he couldn't stop the very realness of his words and his hunger for validation and for more from creeping over his being. He leaned further forward in his seat.

Eli finally had enough of his fingers tickling up his wrist and allowed them to rest instead flat out on the wooden top of the table but right next to his own. After a bit of a pout, Justin had to make do with this.

He tells me that he wasn't really that bothered. For once, he wasn't really that bothered. He was far too fixated on waiting for another reaction from his boyfriend and possibly hearing reassuring and romantic words.

Unfortunately, none of this ever came from him. In place of where romantic and reassuring words could have possibly been, instead he gave Justin an eye roll and a shake of the head but a smile all the same.

While the deep purple haired male's widening of eyes and bottom lip sticking out threatened to make a comeback, the Unovan male decided to tilt that shaking head. And without looking around from within his hoodie to check that anybody was fixating on the two of them the way that his boyfriend was focusing on him, for just a second, Eli reached out and cupped Justin underneath the chin with his thumb and forefinger.

This action lasted just for a split second, it really did. But it was everything to Justin. He really was pushing away any of his previous overthinking and contradicting thoughts to focus on the euphoria that he felt when Eli's fingers were upon his skin. Even when it was for truly just a single second.

Because of this and because of this action, the younger male couldn't stop himself from reaching for the older one all over again after brushing his hair from his eyes, despite the fact that Eli had made a point of moving his digits away from him.

And as well as this, the eldest Morgan son blurted out and smiled, tilting his head before Eli could repeat his actions of breaking the younger male's touch away from him.

"So how come you're still feeling so tired, baby?" the deep purple haired male smiled as he asked but he showed that he was still respectful of Eli's wants and expectations even when he was filled with hazy euphoria by quietening his voice down for these words and especially so for the last, sweet name.

I don't know if he rewarded him with this by lightly squeezing his fingers, but Eli did this to Justin there and then. And then he shrugged and smiled, answering promptly because he found it natural to do so in those circumstances rather than other ones. He answered while wearing the hoodie that spoke of his sleepy anti-socialness.

"Oh, you know. Things have been pretty intense lately, haven't they?" Eli started with a smile but a very different reaction happened from within Justin. Just a fraction of that cold and icy feeling rushing through his veins happened at that point but it was still enough to feel noticeable and unpleasant. And it was still enough to put a dry lump in his throat. He tried his best to hide it. He tried his best to act like he wasn't thinking what he was thinking – that Justin was casting his mind to the fights and the raised voice moments that the two of them were quickly beginning to have with each other. Eli was oblivious to Justin's apprehension and continued, funnily enough shuddering at the same time as his boyfriend but for very different reasons. "I hate parties. I especially hate work parties. I'm very thankful that my Kanto work days are over. But not enough to party. It's diabolical."

Justin showed off a teeth bearing and cheesy grin as he heard all of this and listened to all of this but needless to say, it was another smile that was put on. Yet another wave washed over him and this time, it caused his heart rate to speed up in his chest before it slowed down dramatically yet thudded very noticeably.

The deep violet haired male took a couple more sips of his boyfriend's chamomile tea and it gave the younger male a little while longer to think of his words before coming out of them. He ran a clammy hand through hair that was beginning to feel equally as clammy. He nervously laughed.

Before Eli could catch onto the noticeable nervousness of his snickering, he hurried himself up and made himself respond.

"You love some parties, don't even lie to yourself. You love my family's ones." The deep purple haired male reminded him with an admirable amount of coolness in his voice and smile there and then to contrast his previous anxious eruption. Eli responded to this by lowering his chamomile tea mug away from his lips and back onto the table. He gave his boyfriend a look. In this look, he expressed the fact that he liked the family parties because they didn't ask him anything he didn't want asked… mostly.

Justin caught onto this and it was the first time he understood a wordless answer from Eli the entire day. After that, the deep purple haired male forced his coolness and composure to continue, though it was far less easily displayed. In fact, he had to reach his hand back out to the mug of tea to hide his shakiness as he reverted them back to a former point.

"Are… Are you sure you're not tired by other things being a bit intense? Things intense between… us?" the deep purple haired male began and he managed not to ramble until he continued by adding more words and more points in a bit of a flustered manner. However before this, Eli had just enough time to tilt his head all over again and his eyelashes to flutter with somehow knowing where Justin was beginning to go. "And you're not really that happy that your work in Kanto is over, are you? It's possible you will negotiate an extended contract, right? Otherwise-"

While Justin focused so hard on getting his words out and in a way that the deep violet haired male would want to hear them, he absentmindedly had started nervously and fussily reaching both his hands out and to his boyfriend.

Because of this, the Unovan male had to put a stop to this as well as the words that he knew were leading to a discussion of their future together. And so he did.

"Don't do that." Eli told Justin abruptly and even though he didn't snatch his hands away from him, he might as well have. He merely only retracted his hands across the table a couple of inches away from Justin's. All the same, Justin quickly swallowed and his naturally hollowed jaw flushed at the brashness. Unfortunately, more of it came and I wondered if even the Unovan male regretted it soon after. "And don't say things like that... We don't need to talk about that."

I know that Justin wanted more than anything to lift his shoulders up towards his ears and crane his neck downwards and look fixedly at his lap. I know that he wanted more than anything to look away. Well, clearly what he wanted more than anything was reassurance that their time wouldn't end together because Eli would go back to Unova.

But other than that, he wanted more than anything to look away. Nevertheless, he didn't. Perhaps that was one of his most admirable moments when he did exactly that and on that day. Even though hurt and dread was coursing through his veins, he stared straight on and ahead at Eli.

And I firmly believe that it was because of this that the deep violet haired male had a bit of a change of heart. He didn't change his mind. He didn't change his words. He didn't change his intention. But he embellished some things a bit. He tried again. He clearly had a little bit of remorse how guarded and blunt his initial words had come out from the way that he tried again.

In actuality, he might've wanted to reach back out to Justin himself but in a confusing way, didn't want to send him mixed signals with that.

"Let's… Let's talk about what we're going to do when we're finished up here. Let's do something. What do you feel like doing? Here." The Unovan male at least attempted to make things a little more right and with his final word, he stopped planting one of his hands on the wooden table of the Beechwood Café and slid it under the table.

After sliding his hand under the table, he brushed it against the top of Justin's knee for just a second but it was telling enough. However, it was Justin's turn to stare. It was Justin's turn to somehow wordlessly and fixedly stare.

It's possible that all of the focusing made his eyes threaten to water a bit, as well as everything that he was secretly feeling inside and the things that he was finding harder and harder to ignore and push away.

But, Justin managed to look right back at Eli without melting or changing his mind or being drawn in to his warmth and his gentle and alluring qualities by his eyes. He looked back at him and he rejected his boyfriend's touch completely.

In fact, he even held his own hands up before tucking them under his armpits as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Let's not even bother." Justin uttered about the compromise of the hand holding under the table. And while unbeknownst to him, Eli's hand grew very limp underneath the very same table; the deep purple haired male shook his head and finally looked away. But he still managed to keep his head held high metaphorically. "We don't have to make plans. I might be tired too."

When I was told this story, I expected a silence to ensue there and then and during that moment. No doubt were guards beginning to go up during small parts of their relationship but at that point, they were quickly forming and they were quickly forming high. They were not connecting and reading each other in the same way. Not since they had returned from Unova and another few instances, at least.

My point is - I expected a silence to ensue. But I was proven incorrect. Even during the times when I started to know a lot more about what actually went on between Justin and Eli, I was shown in other moments that I didn't know everything. I was almost glad for that though. That meant that there was almost more to learn. There was always more to expand on. And that excited me.

No silence happened and Eli was surprisingly prompt to respond to his boyfriend's sudden (albeit understandable) standoffish behaviour. He decided to retort with one word and one word alone and it was a powerful one.

"Baby…" he started and this word and the tone of voice that came natural to him caused Justin's lip to pucker out before he bit down on it to steady it. He tried to convince himself not to, but his eyes ended up searching for the face and eventually the eyes of his boyfriend. He discovered himself listening after Eli uttered this single word and this single word was his way of an apology. He tried again. "How about we go try and find that fun fair again? It might be taken down. It might be abandoned. But that might make it even more fun."

In spite of the fact that the deep purple haired male was looking right at his boyfriend and he was listening to him, he wasn't responding to him. Justin didn't say a word. It was almost somehow the quietest and non-reactive and mundane he had been in a very long time, and perhaps even his life.

He just sat there, watching and listening. His chest elevated and deflated as he breathed but he still didn't say anything. His brain was ticking and his brain was telling him to say something – and to respond, with anything – but his body and his voice just weren't following through.

The deep purple haired male didn't know what to do. He didn't know what to say. It wasn't exactly in a helpless way. I suppose it was just his own absentminded way of protecting himself.

Nevertheless, Eli's own sensitive self of course caught onto this and he tried again with his boyfriend. He didn't go as far as reaching out to him and his touch and in public for all to see, but he did brush his knuckles over his knee all over again in the hope that this would warm Justin up.

The deep violet haired male furrowed his brow and sucked on his own top lip before biting down on his own bottom lip before trying again, feeling very desperate and scattered inside his own being but somehow not showing it on the outside. He just wanted to show Justin that he still wanted to be in his presence.

"Please, darling? Come on. Please. This is for certain one thing that I would love." The Unovan male tried for the second and the last time and after seconds passed – though they probably felt like minutes to him – the deep purple haired male finally slowly began to respond to him.

That guard was still up, anybody could tell. He was still a little sceptical and worried about being taken for a fool and this was clear from the way that his lips pressed together and his dimple appeared.

But then his boyfriend appeared earnest before him. It was true that he had said some very direct and brash and hurtful things. But he had tried to make up for it – he could see that. And that balanced things out for him.

Things didn't really feel the same way anymore. Deep in his heart, he got the feeling that even if they went back to the fun fair that they visited at the beginning of the month and their time together; things would certainly not be the same anymore. But maybe in some strange way, though of course he didn't realise it at the time, he needed that.

He needed to feel the beginning of them breaking away from one and other.

However, for the time being, Justin finally gave Eli another chance. Very slowly and very subtly so that the Unovan male didn't catch on at first, his eyelashes fluttered and they softened and then he nodded.

The deep violet haired male only could be sure and certain that Justin was warming up to him all over again and giving him another small chance when he spoke words, and softly and lightly banged his hand upon the wood of the table in the Beechwood Café.

"Alright. Let's do this then. But you have to buy me another flamingo balloon if it's still there. My one at home needs another one. Like how I have you." Justin spoke to Eli and after loosely banging his hand on the table; he cupped that same hand under his chin and coyly looked at his boyfriend.

Nevertheless, it's almost heart-breaking to say that Justin's words felt very hollow and meaningless and fake within his own being. Deep inside, he knew that those two wouldn't have one and other for much longer.

Yet of course, the Unovan male jumped at the fact that Justin was speaking to him all over again and was going along with one of his suggestions. He couldn't stop himself from grinning clearly while being swamped in his black hoodie. His lips quirked upwards and his pearly white teeth showed and he nodded his head.

He very clumsily and almost noisily for once attempted to get up from the table. I wonder if this filled Justin with amusement or sadness. Probably a bit of both. He probably wanted to observe his eccentricities for a little bit longer before they were no longer in front of him.

"Okay. Let's do this then." Eli copied the younger male's words and then he got up from his seat and the table properly and went around to Justin's one. But he didn't stop there. With his hood still fixed surrounding each of his ears, he walked a few more paces and intended to leave the Beechwood Café, knowing that Justin was behind him.

He actually wasn't. Justin actually wasn't behind him. But he soon would be. He had a little moment to himself to ponder the feelings that were brewing in the pit of his stomach and his heart and then he tried to forget about them for good.

Worrying about the future and things that were out of his control was a pointless thing. He had an opportunity to be with his boyfriend there and then. So he wanted to take it. He wanted to take that opportunity while it was still available.

After leaving a tip of money coins on the table for the waitress and then getting out of his own seat, at last, Justin was following behind Eli in his leather jacket once again and he was catching up with him. He had a bit of a smile on his face. Growing on his face yet again was a smile.

That same smile faltered when in order to catch up with the Unovan male and make sure that he didn't leave without him, he put his hand right on his shoulder and squeezed it. That smile of his fell when his hand was shrugged away.

Nevertheless, he didn't lose heart entirely. He didn't lose heart entirely there and then. He let his mind think that it was simply a hurrying up technique for when the two of them were out of the narrower part of the café and they were allowed to stand side to side, Eli allowed the younger male to linger close to him and with his shoulder pressed against his.

The deep purple haired male took a chance at that point. Deciding to go with his own heart and towards Eli's heart full throttle for one of the last few times, he threw all qualms out of the window and acted by doing what he really wanted to do.

He allowed a graceful yet delighted smile take over his face that he mustered with ease and after his shoulder pressed against the shorter male's for a little while longer, he reached out to him and he tried to reach out to his hood for a second time.

He looked at him and he smiled and he teased him. Justin uttered to his boyfriend.

"Let me see your face properly now, Elijah." The deep purple haired male spoke to the Unovan male. Yet again, it was a very long way to come crashing down from the top. And it happened exactly then.

The deep violet haired male flinched like he had been shocked by an electric current and his shoulder accidentally bashed against Justin's so very harshly that it actually hurt him a fair amount. All Justin could muster up there and then was a very dismayed stare and a widening of eyes.

Eli merely reprimanded him by not having to tell him off at all. His words were completely telling in and of themselves.

"I trusted you not to call me that with people around." The Unovan male stated and it was his turn to state curtly. And with that, he marched out of the Beechwood Café and to wait on the pavement for him, no doubt where there was a lot less people around.

His words were like a knife to Justin's chest yet he didn't feel them there and then. His words were like the biggest slap to the face. His words were like the biggest home truth. But he still hardly felt any of that there and then.

All he could do was nod his head and hold his head high. At last and towards the end of their month long relationship, Justin was finally seeing the beginning of the end. And he was almost embracing it.

He was the kind of person to go full throttle towards anything, whether it resulted in a way that was good or bad. He had wholeheartedly thrown all kinds of things out of the window when he had fallen for Eli. And now that the end was looming, he was somehow going full throttle towards that as well.

Though he pushed his thoughts away and tried not to think about them and tried not to linger on them, somehow he must've consumed them and this affected the way that he acted instead.

Even I can't tell you what it was but there was something that made him march out the doors of the Beechwood Café right after Eli – indeed Elijah – like the rug hadn't been pulled out from underneath his feet.

Though he didn't smile at him and he didn't twinkle for him, he remained present with him and he remained lingering at his side on the pavement after he had joined him. And it was perhaps because of this – perhaps it was his no reaction that caused Eli to retract everything that had happened between them there and then and try again.

He didn't offer an apology. But his actions were that apology. It was just up to the deep purple haired male whether it was a good enough one or not.

For the time being, it was.

And even though Justin knew that it was bad news when electricity coursed through his veins as soon as Eli decided to make his own stand and reach for his hand – and it was a very vastly different electricity to the one that had caused the Unovan male to flinch – Justin didn't turn on his heel away from this either.

He embraced every sensation. He embraced every feeling. He embraced every spine tingle. He embraced every heart flutter. He embraced every spine drop. I guess that there and then he had far more clarity than the haziness that came when they actually broke apart. I guess that there and then he understood that it was meant to be just a part of his story.

So he held onto the Unovan male's hand when he reached for it all over again on the pavement and he nodded his head silently to himself. He stood there, waiting to cross the road and with Eli.

He had finally got everything that he wanted. He had his boyfriend by his side and he was holding his hand in front of the passers-by. He was making plans with him. Both of these things were to accomplish making things up to him but that was okay. Justin believed that it was okay. He had finally got everything that he wanted.

Even so, as he looked over at the deep violet haired male and their fingers grew further entwined with one and other, he could think of only one thing. Justin could think of only one thing.

Eli was physically closer to him than he had been in quite the little while. Eli was stood so close to him and he was holding him so truly. And yet to the deep purple haired male, he had never felt more out of reach.

That's how Justin knew. That's how Justin knew that they would be destined to be apart after they were destined to be with each other. That's how Justin knew that it was the beginning of the end.

And it was going to end. It was. And it did.

The End.

There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 It's funny that after I wrote this chapter, I worried about the fact that Eli was pretty cold and unfair at times here, and the dynamic of the two of them is questionable - and a little unhealthy at times. But that is the truth. The truth is that there is a little bit of an unbalance between the two of them and they are not always the best when they are with each other. I suppose that makes it more real. And something to discuss about why some moments in their relationship should be avoided in real life. There's some little Easter eggs here that will be explored in the future! Two of them being, a ring on Justin's ring finger... And Eli being referred to as "Elijah" :) Thanks again for reading and I will be back on the 28th to start The Diary of Baby Rey once again so see you then!
