The next morning before homeroom just as she was leaving the restroom, she quickly felt someone run up from behind her wrapping their strong arms around hers successfully locking her in place and drawing out a small yelp from the brunette.
"Morning Angel face." He lowly chuckled kissing her cheek and making them flush even more as she smiled to herself.
"Katsuki." She whispered yelled scanning their surroundings and luckily for them that part of the hall was fairly empty since students were already making their way inside their classroom right as he released his hold on her.
"What?" He cocked his head to the side with a sly smirk which only made it harder for her to not smile I return. "I can't hug you now?"'
"W-well don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think people are used to seeing you hug anyone." She nervously let her eyes look around.
"Not going to lie and say that's not true because it is." He followed her line of sight as a few students walked by. "But I don't know…it's always felt different with you even before we started going out."
"Shhh!" she giggled smacking him on the arm. "Someone could hear you."
"Couldn't care if they do." He simply shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets, and pivoting his body to continue walking while she caught up with him.
"Ka-" Biting her lip as some students walked by she heard him scoff. "Bakugo…"
"I know." He stopped walking waiting for her to turn to look at him. "I know what I said. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. So don't worry I know how to keep my damn mouth shut."
Nodding her head with a grateful smile she opened her mouth to thank him but paused when she saw a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Besides…it's not like I'm going to anything like carry your shit to class or something like this…"
"Wha-" a second later she felt him lift his index finger gently caressing the side of her face then playfully twirl a lock of her hair, then pulling back as he successfully saw the hint of a blush on her face.
"Ochaco do you really think anyone's paying attention right now?" he asked, gesturing to all the students frantically trying to make it to their lockers before the first bell rang.
"Well not right-HEY!" The minute she felt a hard tug on her back which had her whirl around to try and grasped the straps of her pink backpack but failed, leaving her mouth agape when she spotted Bakugo's giant grin as he ran down the hall and turned the corner disappearing through a crowd of students.
'Did he just…?' Snapping her mouth shut, she quickly tried to catch up and maneuvered through all the people trying to catch a glimpse of him. "Hold it you thief!"
Once she heard the familiar howl of laughter, she already knew which way he was going. Feeling excited at the fact that she was going to catch him at the top of the last stairs she came to a complete stop once he was no longer in sight. "Huh?" Looking both ways she couldn't find him anywhere. "Don't tell me…"
Peeking her head out of one of the windows she saw him already standing outside clutching her bag with a smug salute before he lazily started walking off, no doubt headed for their classroom.
Letting out a low growl she quickly made her way back downstairs marching over to their homeroom just as the bell rang and she found him already in his seat happily leaning back with his head in his hands and feet propped up on his desk.
Clearing her throat and carefully getting to her desk just as Mr. Aizawa untangled himself from his sleeping bag, she pursed her lips when she saw her bag already sitting on top of her desk waiting for her.
"Alright so let's get started…" Mr. Aizawa yawned as he started the morning announcements.
Feeling her phone alert, her to a new message, she discreetly looked down.
Katsuki: Gotta be faster than that next time.
'Next time huh…' quietly removing her notebooks she felt an amused smile graze her lips as she locked eyes with a pair of red ones before he turned his attention to Mr. Aizawa with a slight smirk of his own.

The next couple of days weren't any different. It seemed that Bakugo had made it his mission to surprise her with little things here and there that maybe he thought he should do and of course would like to do in the open, but because he couldn't he let out his frustration any way he could either by training or leaving her a packed lunch inside her bag, carrying her books and ignoring her protests, claiming they were his whenever someone would asked, sneaking in a quick peck on the cheek whenever no one was around which of course she never minded but she couldn't stop the panic from rising whenever he did these little things.
She hated the fact that he could do them so easily without a care in the world which was still surprising considering that he wasn't usually the affectionate type and still found it sweet when he would do them for her, when all she really wanted to do was the same thing. But how could she without letting everyone know and thinking that maybe he was right.
By Friday morning Bakugo was already leaning with his cheek against his palm absently staring at the board waiting for all his idiot classmates to waltz in while his usual group of friends continued to talk around his desk like they didn't have any damn desks of their own.
Drumming his fingers on his desk he glared back at Kirishima who was still giving him puppy dog eyes from his seat.
"Stare…."
"NO!" he barked reverting back to glowering at the board. For the last few days Kirishima had been pestering him about when their double date would take place, which to Bakugos annoyance Kirishima decided to take any reply other than yes to mean 'I'll think about it'.
"Dude!"
"FORGET IT!"
"What are they talking about?" Sero asked scratching his head.
"Beats me." Kaminari yawned until Jirou walked in. "Hey Jirou!"
With a blank expression Jirou silently sat down opening her bag.
"Ouch cold dude." Sero snickered.
Chuckling Bakugo looked up just in time to see brown hair, warm brown eyes and pretty pink cheeks entering the classroom with Iida. He didn't know if it was his damn imagination or what, but he could've sworn he saw her face light up the minute she saw him with different flowers surrounding her before continuing to move to her desk in slow motion.
"Hey, my dude…why do you have hearts as eyes?"
"What?"
"And your face is so red man." Sero pointed out. "Are you feeling alright."
"What the hell are you shit heads even babbling about?! I'm fine!" He quickly blinked away whatever bullshit they think they saw.
"Yeah, Bakubro what's wrong?" Kirishima teasingly grinned stretching his arms over his head.
Whirling in his seat Bakugo settled Kirishima with the nastiest glare he could muster. "Shitty hair I swear…"

As the day progressed Uraraka was happily chatting with both Deku and Shinso aware that Bakugo would steal subtle glances in her direction every so often making her cheeks warm up. 'He's SO doing this on purpose' she thought.
So instead, she found herself sitting on her desk with her back facing him, cheerfully swinging her legs hoping she could at least get a good conversation in with her friends without them staring at her like she was going crazy.
Good thing Iida wasn't there at the moment otherwise she would hear his speech about how sitting on desks was disrespectful to all their previous classmates, which is why everyone found themselves enjoying the few minutes of freedom they managed to squeeze in since both Iida and Yaoyorozu were busy making copies for their class meeting they were about to have.
Nodding at something Deku said about the upcoming weekend, she suddenly heard Bakugo's unmistakable laughter allowing her the opportunity when both boys weren't paying attention to sneak a peek at the ash blond currently sitting on his own desk feet firmly planted on his chair and talking to his usual squad of friends. About what she didn't know, all she knew was that he was laughing at something Sero had said.
As if sensing eyes on him, he flicked his eyes in her direction then back so fast no one would've caught it. She hid a smile knowing he caught her but didn't mind once she saw him trying to mask his own smile with his usual scowl, but the hint of pink still tainted his cheeks. 'Gotcha blasty.'
"Hey Uraraka, what about you?"
"Eh?" Whirling around she saw Deku and Shinso both waiting for her to answer.
"We were thinking about going to the mall to check out that store you mentioned before that sold various different hero merchandise. Maybe they have the new All might collectable action figure." Deku excitingly grinned remembering when he heard the news that they were making it in honor of his true form battling All For One.
"Of course, when were you thinking of going?"
"Not sure yet. Maybe this weekend? M-Melissa wants to check it out too when she comes to visit."
Sharing a look with Shinso, Uraraka couldn't help the smile that grew on her face recognizing that nervous look from her green haired best friend and how he's been crushing on the girl since the moment they met on I-Island but was always too hesitant to do anything due to having the responsibility of One for All.
Seems that after their little 'vacation' to the Island and seeing each other again something definitely seemed to be moving between the two and she felt so happy for them.
"Count me in." she eagerly nodded. "How long will she be here for?"
"About a week. Her dad managed to pull it off since he's been wanting to catch up with All Might too and if possible, speak to your mom?"
"My mom?" Ok now that was a surprise. Tilting her head, she waited for Deku to continue.
"Y-yeah he's actually heard quiet a few good things about your family's construction company and wanted to talk with her more about possible future contracts down the line."
"Woah really? How did that happen?" She knew that the business was picking up but to go to that extent. She was meaning to talk to her mom and Ichiro more about that but with her busy schedule found it harder to. She made a mental note to go home and visit next time she could.
"That's um actually a funny story…" Deku gave her an awkward smile. "You see when we were gone overseas, Kacchan came up with an idea to publicize your family's construction company but wanted to wait until he spoke with your mom about it. From my understanding she was open to the idea and we've um…kinda been mentioning it to certain people…"
Lifting an eyebrow, she heard Deku gulp. "Like?"
"W-well Todorokis been mentioning it to Endeavor, we've mentioned it to Best Jeanist, Kamui Woods, Thirteen, Ryukyu to name a few...and Hawks but he was already on board to begin with and thought it was a good idea too."
"Oh." Staring at the ground she felt her eyes glaze over at the thought of what her friends were willing to do for her and her family. Knowing that they were always struggling to find work before. 'How did I get so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life…'
"Uraraka." Placing his hand on her shoulder he gave her a kind smile. "It's alright. I think it's a great idea and you should too."
Nodding she gave him a grateful smile. "Thank you guys, that means so much to me."
"Don't thank me, it was Kacchans idea." He said, turning to look at his childhood friend who was already staring at them questioningly. "Although I can't say for certain whether or not he's been damaging more buildings on purpose or by accident to be honest…"
Snorting Shinso nodded. "Wouldn't put it past him."
"T-There's no way. He wouldn't do that…" she said following their gaze to the now frowning blond. "Would he…?"
"Hey, everyone, sorry it took us so long to get these." Yaoyorozu smiled waving around sheets of papers while Iida closed the door behind them.
"Yes, as you all know the school festival's is fast approaching. We should've done this earlier, but it seemed like right now is the best time as any with everyone's busy schedule." Iida said passing out the papers along with Yaoyorozu.
"We decided that since we don't have a lot of time this year, we'll just have everyone jot down any thoughts about what we should do. That being said we do know that we'll have the annual concert if everyone's still on board with that?" She looked around finding eager nods. "Alright, so we'll have to compare everyone's schedule for the next few weeks to see what works best for practice given how hectic everything's been and whether or not it'll take place during the festival or after. Maybe before our next vacation we'll have to see how it goes."
"For band practice I'm sure we can work something out, and if no one's opposed to it we can probably do some brainstorming during lunch?" Jirou asked looking at Yaoyorozu, Bakugo, Kaminari, and Tokoyami for confirmation.
"Sounds good to me."
"Count me in."
"No. I've got better shit to do then waste my time during lunch." He said, turning to glare at them.
"Dude, we need all the free time we can get to practice." Kaminari reasoned, receiving a surprised look from Jirou.
"Goddamn it." Bakugo gave an exasperated groan knowing they were right. "Fuckin fine."
Nodding along with the class, Iida continued. "Alright now since that's settled all we need to-"
"ATTENTION ATTENTION ALL THIRD YEAR CLASSES A AND B FROM THE HERO COURSE ARE NEEDED IMMIDEITLY. THERE'S BEEN AN ATTACK. PLEASE REPORT TO YOUR ASSIGNED AGENCY. ATTENTION ATTENTION ALL-"
Glaring at the loud alarm from waking him, Mr. Aizawa went to stand next to his two students checking his phone. "You heard it. Everyone reports for duty to your designated work studies. The pros will fill you in once you get there."
"Understood." They said in unison quickly grabbing their things and heading out.
Upon arriving on the scene in downtown Esuha city with the help of Best Jeanist they were quickly briefed on the situation by the fiber hero himself as well as Hawks who was already waiting for them.
"I believe I don't have to tell everyone that this isn't training considering you've been in these situations before. But regardless we will all do our best to work together like finely stitched denim."
Tilting his head Hawks slowly blinked up at the fellow pro before addressing the students in front of them with a smile. "Y-Yeah what he said. Except that last part."
"Remember there are five villains we're dealing with two on the east side, two on the north and one on the west side of town. You've already been briefed on which part of town you're assigned to and for those of you who have yet to hear back from your agencies will come with me until the other pros arrive. Any questions?" Shaking their heads Best Jeanist nodded. "Very well, Red Riot, Real Steel and Gevaudan, Fat Gum's already waiting for you on the north side. Shoto, Deku and Dynamight Endeavors already waiting for you on the east."
"Everyone else move out!"
Nodding at each other in a silent gesture of good luck everyone started to run off in different directions.
'I can do this.' Clenching her fists, she waited for Hawks to address them next since they were the only ones Hawks hadn't told where to go.
"Alright listen up guys we're heading to the west part. There are already other pro heroes dealing with the situation there, but things are really screwed up in that part of town and they are in dire need of rescue heroes to get people out. Reason being because that's where the fight started until the villains decided to spread out."
"Rescue? But Hawks-"
"I know Uravity." he said, reading the disappointment on her face. "But we need you out there. After we get everyone to safety, we can start helping out with the fight. Remember our top priority is to guarantee the safety of the people."
"Understood." She pouted distracting herself by adjusting the gauntlets on her wrists.
"Alright. I'll meet you guys there!" he said before flying off.
"Here we go." She said, taking a deep breath and started to head off in that direction.
"Oi round-face!" Bakugo said following next to her.
"What's up Dynamight?" she glanced sideways not missing the red tint to his ears at the mention of his hero name.
"Tch, it's Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight Damnit! Why is that so damn hard for everyone to remember?" he growled.
"Yeah…no, we decided we'll just call you Dynamight for short." She sheepishly rubbed the back of her head giving him a lopsided grin. "We actually had a meeting about it, it was pretty fun."
"The fuck?!" Stomping his foot, he shook his head in irritation until he heard her giggle which seemed to calm him down before eyeing her. "You alright?"
"Yeah, just got stuck doing rescue again, no big deal." She waved off trying to hide her disappointment which she knew wouldn't fool him.
"But you know why right?" He gave her a pointed look. "Look I've got to go. But-"
"I know." She turned to look at him then with a reassuring smile. "I've got this."
"I know you do." Lifting his hand, he stopped midway once he realized how many people were still around and turned his face in annoyance.
Grazing her hand against his she gave him a gentle smile. "I'll see you after ok."
Nodding he gave her one last look before quickly blasting himself in the air moving in the other direction while she did the same.
"Oh my god…" Mina gasped once she arrived in front of a leaning building that quickly crumpled in front of them with Hawks quickly using his feathers to grab anyone he could.
"This isn't the only one!" he shouted. "We still have seven more over there!" he pointed. "And some more we need to help over by subway station that are trapped under some rubble!"
"On it!" Uraraka said floating over to what she thought was the least stable of the seven buildings while Tokoyami and Hagakure went to another.
"Pinky over by station!" Hawks shouted.
"Got it!"
Trying to get past all the rubble was another issue all together since she had to be careful while trying to make it in time before the building collapsed in on itself like the other. Her eyes widened when she saw a woman and child screaming and waving their arms in panic from the windows of the building. She quickly activated her quirk again allowing her to moon jump until she was standing right in front of the building. "Hang on!"
Snapping her eyes shut and taking a deep breath in, she tried concentrating on the building and everything around it, allowing her quirk to gently flow around her lifting her hair and the rubble as well to keep the building steady. Hesitantly opening her eyes, she gasped once she started feeling the full weight of the building as a light pink glow illuminated around it. "Keep it up, keep it up. just like the plane..." She told herself looking over her shoulder and seeing everyone else occupied.
Without a second thought her legs moved, taking her inside the crumpling building. "Can anyone here me?!" Stumbling through what she assumed to once be the lobby, she franticly let her eyes bounce around the area clutching her stomach. "Is there-"
"Here!" someone shouted coming through the stairwell holding another person up. "We're here!"
Running up to them she quickly checked them over for any injuries. "I'm Uravity. Everything will be ok. Let's get you two out."
"But there's other people still trapped inside the building!" The gentleman coughed.
"Do you know how many?" She said maneuvering the two out.
Coughing the two men shared an uncertain look. "Don't know…60-70 maybe…"
Her breath picked up, thumping so loudly in her ears that she had to force herself to listen as the panic increased at the realization that there was no way this building would hold for that long, even with her quirk. 'There's no way I'm letting anyone get hurt.'
"Uravity?" One of the men asked snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Like I said, don't worry everything will be fine" she said thankful when she saw a nearby medical evacuation zone and setting them down there. "I'll be back!"
Running back inside and up the stairs she quickly braced herself against the wall just as a big wave of nausea hit her all at once with the weight pushing down on her chest and stomach. "H-Hawks?!" she grits her teeth pressing into her earpiece, eyes closed tightly.
"Hawks here."
"Might have a problem…" she said flying up the flight of stairs now and landing on shaky legs before stepping into the hall and scanning the nearby offices. "T-there's about 60 to 70 people trapped where I am. And this building isn't going to hold!"
"Where are you?"
"In one of the buildings." She said crouching down next to an elderly woman who was unconscious but thankfully still breathing.
"Which one?"
Swallowing down her nausea she saw a couple of more people scattered around the area and activating her quick on the ones not able to move on their own. "You see the one furthest away? The tall one."
"You mean the one that looks like it's about to come down?!" he shouted.
Cringing, she continued to escort the people out as quickly as she could. "Yeah…that's the one."
"Alright hang tight I'm with Pinky, but I'm on my way. Don't go inside or do anything dumb until I get there."
"Well, you see that's the thing…"
"Let me guess, you're already inside."
Huffing, she could practically see him rolling his eyes at her. "I couldn't wait! These people need help, and we don't have a lot of time!"
"Alright I'll be right there. Hawks out."
"You know you don't have to say that."
"I know it just sounds cooler."
"Fine. Uravity out."
"See!"
Shaking her head, she made sure to get the group of people out before running back in and up to the next floor. By the time she was done with that floor and up the next flight of stairs she felt her vision blur and legs give out just as a red feather flew by and she was swiftly caught by someone when the building started to shake again.
Snapping her eyes open she slammed her hand against the wall stabilizing the structure once more while Hawks stared down at her.
"Easy there baby bird." He said helping her to her feet. "You good?"
Nodding, she slowly removed her hand focusing on keeping the building up. "Let's go."
"I already managed to get the people who were trapped on the higher floors." He said focusing on where his feathers were. "Which means we still have…11 left."
"So, we need to hurry." She said swiftly floating passed him and up another flight of stairs.
By the time they were working on the last floor left Uraraka was glad when she saw one of Hawks feathers carrying off the child along with her mother out to safety.
"We did it." She tiredly smiled falling to her knee.
Kneeling down next to her he scanned the area one more time before his eye widened out the window "Hey-"
When she saw Hawks being thrown a few feet away and felt the sudden air being knocked out of her as she was pushed back and slammed hard against one of the desks, she could barely make out a slim man with a green and purple mohawk appearing and grinning menacingly at the two.
"Well if it isn't Hawks. Haven't seen you in a while."
"Hey…you?" Hawks groaned getting to his feet. "Let me guess another underling looking for revenge. Because I've gotta say that's getting really old."
"So, you don't remember me?!"
"Sure I do…guy." he smirked hoping to stall for some time for his feathers to come back since he really didn't know who this guy was.
"You don't know me?!"
"I said I do."
"Oh?"
"Of course…Ji…ku…sa…me…?" Cringing, he lifted his hands in defeat. "Am I at least getting close?"
"Hawks not helping!" Uraraka panted feeling all her strength slowly leaving her body.
"How dare you!" the slim man said before he shot out a red laser beam from his hands cutting the building in half just as Uraraka let out a scream and the building instantly collapsed.

When the ground shook Deku whipped around staring off in the distance. "What was that?"
"Deku you idiot pay attention!" Bakugo said from up in the air shooting off another blast at the giant villain who seemed to be sucking up anything you threw at him and sending it back three times as strong.
"No Midoriya's right." Todoroki said flying up to them and listening in to what Endeavor was saying through his earpiece. "One of the buildings that was severely damaged during this attack on the west side just came down."
"Did everyone get out alright?"
"I don't know, the last I heard they were sending a team to get everyone out."
"DAMN IT!" Bakugo snarled sending of another set of explosions before lifting himself higher to try and get a better view of the collapsing building but only able to see smoke coming from the other side of town instead.
'I got this.'
'There's no way in hell she would put herself in harm's way like that.' Gritting his teeth, he tried to reassure himself but knowing her, she would be right smack in the middle of it if it meant saving people. He had to fight every impulse to blast himself in that direction knowing that she was alright. She had to be alright. There was no way she wouldn't be. She was Ochaco Uraraka for crying out loud. One of the strongest people he knew. She just had to be…
"YOU BASTARDS!" Lunging himself straight at the villain he sends a whirl of explosions in his direction followed by Deku and Todoroki because the faster they end this the faster he'll see her smiling face again.

After the majority of the villains were caught and placed under arrest a few hours have already gone by. Haruyoshi Hasegawa turned out the villain's name who was currently unconscious and transported out just as Uraraka finished off with helping Mina at the subway station.
Wobbling on shaky legs both girls sat themselves down next to Tokoyami and Hagakure who were just as worn out by the looks on their faces.
"That about wraps it up here." Hawks said after talking to some of the police officers. "There's still a fight going on the other side of town so I'm about to head over there."
Nodding they started to stand up. "How many-"
"No. You guys are going home."
"But we're fine." Hagakure said holding onto Tokoyami.
"Hawks if there's still a fight, then we can still help." Uraraka said.
"I know. But you guys have done more here than I've ever seen from any one person. They've already dispatched other heroes to help out over there too so it shouldn't be long before the villains will give themselves up since we figure out what their quirks are. But in the meantime, go home and get some rest. You guys did good today. You should be proud."
After an hour and a half, they finally made it up the steps to Heights Alliance along with half of their friends who were also sent home to recover. Luckily no one was injured to the point where they needed medical attention so once inside, they all made their separate ways to their rooms, cleaning the evidence of today's events off.
Who would've guessed that from the moment she woke up she would come home from battling a villain and saving lives. But then again, she supposed that that's what it would be like on a daily basis once they graduated which wouldn't be long now.
After a much-needed shower and a change of pajamas she found herself anxiously sitting on her bed glued to the small tv screen with Mina watching the news and hoping for any more detail about what was going on.
Where they still fighting? Was it over? Were they all alright?
Since half of their class was still gone, the other half had nothing to do but wait for them to come home.
"Do you think they're ok?"
Glancing down at a quiet Mina, Uraraka saw the obvious worry in her face as her eyes fixated on the screen, wrapping her arms over her legs. "I'm sure everyones fine. You'll see." Uraraka gave her a comforting hug hoping it would help ease the nerves for both of them.
An hour passed until they heard voices coming from downstairs followed by banging on her door.
"Huh?" Sharing a puzzled look, they slowly smiled before swiftly opening the door to see both Kirishima and Bakugo still dressed in their hero suits mirroring the same worried looks. Throwing herself straight at the red head Mina was quickly caught by strong arms as they both hugged each other heading down the hall to Minas room.
With a weak smile Uraraka felt her lips trembling the more she stared at the mixed emotions in Bakugos eyes until they both wrapped each other in a tight embrace with Uraraka burying her face in his chest.
"Goddamn it Ochaco."
"You're ok." She managed to find her voice and felt him tighten his hold around her shoulders.
"You too." He breathed out nuzzling his nose in her hair and closing his eyes tightly. After they had successfully apprehended the villain on the east side of town and managed to save the people there, he felt relive wash over him once Hawks told them that everyone was fine and accounted for on the west side.
They were however unable to meet up with everyone since they still had their hands full with the other villains on the north side and by the time they were finished, Bakugo frantically started to look for the rest of their classmates along with everyone else but were told that they were already sent home a few hours ago and for them to join them.
Which is why he didn't hesitate to come straight here afterwards since he knew that he wouldn't be ok until he knew she was too. Taking a deep breath in he let her flowery scent invade his nostrils before pulling back and quickly scanning over her face, arms and any place he could to make sure she was ok.
"Katsuki I'm ok." She gave a soft giggle, gently moving some of his bangs aside and realizing that he had already removed his mask. "Really."
Nodding he placed a tender kiss on her forehead before hugging her again and placing his chin on top of her head. Closing her eyes, she could still hear the rapid 'thump' in his heart but started to relax once his breathing started to calm down after a few minutes.
"You should really go change."
Chuckling, he peered down at her. "Why you're saying I stink?"
"N-no." she playfully pushed him back but noticed his tight grip on her arm. "It's just that your still in your hero suit or do you need to see recovery girl?" she quickly asked, slight panic in her voice.
"No, I'm fine."
Nodding she looked down at her arm before locking eyes with his. "I'm fine Katsuki, I'm not going anywhere."
As if just realizing what he was doing he slowly released his hold on her. "Sorry I just…"
Smiling, she got on her tip toes placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. "I know and trust me you're not the only one who was worried."
"Alright. I'll be back."
After half an hour she was lazily laying on her bed reading when she heard a quiet knock. "Feeling better?"
"I guess." He yawned following her inside. "What have you been doing?"
"Reading?" she said picking up her book. "Why, are you going to make fun of me again?" she pouted as he tiredly threw himself on the bed next to her examining the cover of the book.
"No." he simply said lifting an eyebrow and skimming through the pages.
"Uh-huh." Giving him a suspicious look, she timidly started to cuddle up closer to him aware of the blush on her cheeks once he gave her that cocky smile of his and snaked an arm around her to pull her closer until her chin rested on his chest. "Can I ask you something?"
"Go for it." He yawned.
"I…I heard about what you've been doing for my family's business." she quietly said.
"So, what's your question?" he said, closing his eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she quickly asked, studying his face as he turned to peer down at her.
"Well to tell you the truth, I didn't do much."
"You just came up with the idea and helped spread the word."
"W-well yeah that too." He admitted. "But as for your family's construction company, that was all you guys. Ochaco…" leaning up on his elbows he contemplated his next words. "Your family has had that company way before I even met you. And once I got to see for myself after all the things you've said about it, I found it to be true. You guys have a great thing going there and great quality in work, but the only thing that's been stopping you guys from making it what it could be is that since it's a smaller company you never had the chance to advertise it for what it is. Why else do you think Ichiro and your mom were on board with it? Why do you think they've been hiring more workers. And now you can have the chance to help you family and still do what you want along the way."
Feeling the tears prickle in the corner of her eyes she saw his eyes soften. "But why do all this?"
"Like I said I didn't do much, I just gave it a little nudge." He gave a sly grin. "And because when I see good work and talent it'll be a fuckin shame to not get the recognition it deserves."
Chewing on her lips she remembered when she heard about the small business back at the mall he had gone to mentioning how it was family owned. "Katsuki this is just…"
"Ochaco, if I can help, please let me do this." He quietly said.
"Thanks." She softly smiled, feeling her chest warm.
"Besides, your old man gave me permission to date his daughter, so I owed him." He playfully winked, making her laugh and punched him in the chest.
"What?!" she laughed once he started to tickle her sides. "Ok I get it!" she breathed out.
"Keep that up Cheeks and people will hear you." He smirked enjoying the sound of her laugh.
"Ok ok." she said squinting her eyes shut and lifting her hands in surrender. "I give."
Scoffing he leaned back against her pillow pulling her with him as she leaned her head on his chest blissfully humming to herself. "This is what it'll be like huh…?"
"What?"
"After we graduate. Coming home everyday from a day like today. Making sure everyone stays safe."
"Pretty much." He murmured. "But I wouldn't say it would be like this everyday. That's where we come in. To kick some villain ass to a point where people don't have to worry about things like this."
"Right." She smiled to herself once she felt the steady rhythm of his heart and his chest rise and fall underneath her head.
She hoped he was right. They needed everyone to live in a world where everyone didn't need to worry about walking down the street without being attacked. They needed to know that there were still those who would risk their lives to see that dream come true.
The more days went by the closer they were to making that happen. But today just reminded her how real this was becoming, that it was just a matter of time before someone could get hurt. She knew they'd been preparing for this since the beginning of UA but that didn't make it any easier. She now understood why the heroes she saw when she was younger sometimes had a sullen look on their faces, because they did have someone waiting for them at home.
And if Uraraka could come home everyday to this warm feeling she felt right now…then that would be enough for her.
"Katsuki…" tilting her head up she saw him already sound asleep with his lips slightly parted from exhaustion. 'He looks so peaceful.' Fondly smiling at him, she quietly kissed him on the cheek before feeling the fatigue hit her as well and her eyelids shut.
